[ Thea - Comms Center] Thea knew that Myker would do his best to try and keep Hezula out of their systems, until they either discovered the real reason for her visit or find another way to fortify their defences. " I understand and all I can ask is for you to do your best Mr Vulbrix" she replied, still in a quiet tone. Leaving the comms officer to work, Thea chanced a glance towards their Crime Boss visitor. A tug of intrigue played at the CO's curiosity, never once thinking that they would cross paths again after their successful heist all of those months ago. But here they were and as Myker completed her request to alert Security, Thea had to hide her surprise as Hezula asked to not only visit the station but also revealed who she wanted to find. Judy was naturally honest with their guest but Thea didn't know what would happen since Hunt wasn't here and hoped that they could talk her out of attacking the station. ********* [ Hezula - The Crimson Revenger] Taking a moment to digest the old woman's response, Hezula's attention shifted to the arm pad on the chair that she had rightly taken once they had arrived. A sly grin forming on her lips at the attempts being made to stop the hack that she had created. How satisfying that was, considering the news that Hunt wasn't here. Sending a discreet message to have Mace prime their weapons, the Orion enforcer then considered what had been said. =CR= That is most unfortunate, considering how long it has took me to track him down following your deception on Torus VI. I can also assure you that I won't cause any trouble unless this is another trick to deceive me. If it isn't then yes I will still visit your station and as to the reason why I want Hunt, I'd rather discuss that in person =CR=Hezula had learned that it wasn't always beneficial to reveal one's secrets all at once and so they would just have to wait a little longer. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Comms Center]Judy found Hezula to be determined, almost desperate, to assert her control of the situation, even as she accepted most of the Captain's terms. She wasn't going to push back, not now. =A= "Very well. You have permission to dock, and we can sit down in the Promenade security office. Since you've hacked our computers, I'm sure you already know where that is." =A= Or did Hezula think they hadn't realized? =A= "Front Ear out." =A= With that, Judy turned to her crew. "I can't get a good read on her. She's definitely trying to show us who's in charge, but I don't know why," she shared. "And let's put the station com into a maintenance cycle, to take back control of that for now."

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] " Great minds think alike and as long as there's plenty of refreshments then they'll be happy" Leanna replied, settling on a grin rather than chuckle as that hurt these days. Whilst she had been jovial about the boys of the Beta, there was also some truth in what was said. Learning from quite early on, that the majority if not all of them enjoyed a snack or two whenever they helped with anything outside of work. At the mention of his back and the clear reference to Judy, Lea smiled understanding exactly what Max had meant. Of course she had her own masseuse too in the form of Riyo. His back and foot rubs had helped a lot so far in combating the pain and swelling of various limbs thanks to the added pressure on her body. " That's always beneficial" Lea agreed, before he spoke so lovingly and happy about getting his wife back. The Betazoid could only imagine what that would mean, knowing in some ways what she felt whenever Riyo returned from his shift or if had been called away on mission. It was definitely time for Max and Judy to enjoy her retirement and having that pressue taken off them. " I can imagine that Max, you both deserve to have that time together and I don't know what you want to do about the Beta, but I'm happy with whatever you decide". [NPC - Max Williams - Family Quarters]"You're not getting rid of me that easy," Max replied, with laughter in his voice. He understood why Lea might have thought he'd retire too, but he wasn't planning to. "I'm going to need more days off to come with Judy to conferences, provided they're in places I want to go, but there's nowhere I'd rather work, and no one I'd rather work for."That was quite a compliment, coming from a chef as experienced and widely-traveled as Max.

[NPC - Unknown - Spotty Alibi]The hooded humanoid figure seated at the Alibi looked at their datapad, satisfied. Everything, at least so far, was proceeding according to plan. They typed a quick message, and then hit "send". Deck 8 Shifting their foot, they couldn't help but grunt, not too fond of the sticky floors.

{Quoted Posts} [SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade]Jov couldn't help but smirk slightly. While she could charge them both for the intrusion, that was a lot of paperwork she didn't feel the need to burden herself with. While it was obvious that Kova had even less love for Starfleet than she'd had before, the Andorian had never posed herself as a threat to station security. The hybrid she was teaching, even less so. "Unfortunately, there isn't anyone quite as skilled as you. But I appreciate the advice; and I'll see if we can find someone who at least sort of knows what they're doing." It really was a shame that Captain Eastman had burned that bridge... But now that Judy was retiring, Jovireh had hope that maybe someday she would be able to rebuild it. Until then... Kova was right. She needed to find someone else to help with their cybernetwork protection. When the pair brought her attention to another - less friendly - intruder, she scowled in concern. "Can you tell what they're trying to do?" The next step would be to notify Ops to have them try to block the hacker out of the systems, but that would go faster if she was able to tell them where to start. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] The small bit of credit Kova could give to the new Chief of security was that she didn't appear nearly as presumptuous as her superior or predecessor. Kova had found herself essentially black-balled into working with Starfleet before... something that then Commander Eastman had managed to sign off on. Of course, the rumor was that Velal had been handpicked and groomed by Eastman. With hope, this Romulan-apple would fall far from the human-tree. Of course, when Velal asked what they were doing in the system, Kova began to think she'd perhaps spoken too soon. "For now... nothing," Kova said. "Simply making themselves known." That was putting it mildly. Kova wouldn't have been surprised if people found their communication devices hijacked by this person's transmission. "Probably something you'd better have your people attend to sooner rather than later." It was sound advice, but a subtle way of making it clear that she wasn't about to be drawn back in like this.
[NPC - Zyri Zh'raal - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Zyri was... confused. Kova could likely piggyback on this signal and infiltrate their systems, but... she wasn't. She always thought that was something that her shreya[fn]mother; egg-bearing[/fn] would do. That's what she'd learned from her father, but Kova... this Kova... certainly didn't seem the sort. She'd seen her help people before... why wasn't she doing so now? "I think the people in Ops are aware," Zyri said aloud. Her eyes shifted carefully between Kova and the security chief. "It looks like they're just... talking." Presently, she wasn't looking at the transmission itself, just a bunch of code scrolling up her screen. Though, she could see the source markers, one emanating from the ship, the other from the station itself. "Who's the Crimson Revenger?" Zyri asked. She'd been able to pull that much from the source code. She wasn't certain if it was actually the ship's name, or a really bad handle from whomever had coded their systems.

Tag Thea Baker , Myker Vulbrix [ Myker Vulbrix - Comm Center - USS Mac] Myker kept his ears on the communication between their Crime Boss problem and the Captain while keeping his eyes on the communication panels running basic traces to see where the problem originated. No doubt the entire station was now aware of the presence of Hezula. Myker had yet to decide if it was indeed a good thing that the man in question was unreachable. He questioned if having this Dr.Hunt on the station would have provided them with some security in play for the station. She wouldn't fire on them if Hunt was in the firing line. Of course the Betazoid realized he'd come to this conclusion on the assumption she wanted Hunt alive. If the condition she obtained him in wasn't of concern there was little hope for their little station. Myker simply gave Thea a nod in response, not a man of many words and more inclined to act. Being in communications, having encountered many species he'd learnt much from them and one thing he was sure about. Orions with criminal ties could definitely not be trusted. Even if Hezula got what she wanted, if her goal here at Front Ear was accomplished she may well turn and fire on the station. Myker was no tactician but if the resistance had taught him anything, it was to prepare for the worst. To brace yourself for the worst outcome or do something to prevent the worst outcome. Maybe leaving the hack in place would prove to be a better option. It could just give them a way to put her weapons out before she took them out. All this ran through his head as the Captain finished speaking to their visitor granting her permission to board the station. Myker frowned lightly at the idea but didn’t comment, only nodding when Eastman expressed her inability to get a read on the Orion. It was a common problem with those who had a hidden agenda and definitely indicated that they shouldn’t trust her all the way. ”We could have security look into it, see if they can’t dig up something to help us figure it out?” Myker suggested tapping a few times on his comm to get the system into maintenance mode. ”Comm is in maintenance cycle.” He noted once he’d initiated that, they’d keep her out for now. I'll have a team ready."=A= No sooner had she closed the channel, an unfamiliar voice began to address the entire station in what sounded to be mid-conversation. Oh, so that was what they were doing in the system. Jovireh's attention shifted away from the hackers beside her as she listened to what was being said. Torus VI, wasn't that... Hunt, yes it was. She'd heard about the shenanigans he had pulled with the crime boss they were stealing from. Part of her wished the annoying doctor was still on the station. Undoubtedly he would surrender himself to them in order to play a hero, and they could be done with this for good. But Jovireh wouldn't get so lucky this time. "Must be the ship name," she answered Zyri a little distractedly, her thoughts turning to whom she had available to help with this situation. With a few names in mind, she turned her gaze back to Kova. "Thank you. I appreciate the h- information." While the other woman had been helpful, Jov didn't want to give the impression that she would be expecting the Andorian's help on a regular basis. Stepping away, she tapped her badge once more. =A="Velal to Captain Eastman. I'm aware of the situation, and I have a team ready awaiting orders."=A= The people that she would like to have with her were not currently available, but Stout and Kazeme were standing a few meters away, watching her expectantly. They would do well enough.

[ Thea - Comms Center] Well Hezula's response was both enlightening and surprising to Thea as she half expected the Orion to open fire until the station was dust. Leaving the Captain with the same curiosity as earlier as to why she still wanted to visit, despite Hunt no longer being around. It seemed as though Hezula was hiding something or that's what it felt like and they would hopefully get answers shortly. Once Judy had closed the channel after giving Hezula permission to dock and a venue to meet. Thea knew that either her or Judy would need to be present and considering her history with Hezula, Thea had to volunteer to do so. First she listened as Myker offered a suggestion, after her fellow Captain shared her thoughts and ordered the comm to be put into maintenance mode. Then came the acknowledgement from Jovireh, smiling slightly upon hearing that she had a team ready. Another survivor of Torus VI, Thea mused to herself as she then spoke up. " That might be useful" Thea replied, then spoke directly to Judy. " Given our history, I think it makes sense for me to go meet our guest at the Promenade security office".*************** [ Hezula - The Crimson Revenger] As the old woman ended the call, Hezula grinned at being found out so easily. Not that she was particularly concerned about them discovering her little harmless hack. The Orion wasn't worried about meeting in their security office either as it would be protected and knowing the Fleeter's she would likely have an escort the second she set foot off her ship. " Maintain a weapons lock on the station, should there be any issues, you may go ahead and fire if I don't return in the next few hours. Captain Mace proceed with docking, I shall make my way to the airlock".After receiving an acknowledgement, Hezula left the bridge and following a brief stop at her quarters proceeded to the airlock. A few minutes later, the Crimson Revenger docked and Hezula entered the station, concealed in a hooded emerald cloak.

"There's a lovely American-ism that I've picked up from the in-laws: how old would you think you were, if you didn't know your age?" He remarked, on a related note. "I don't think I'm anywhere near retirement age."Max's back may be hard at work trying to remind him that he was no longer 25, but that didn't mean he had to feel every one of his 63 years. "What I'm saying is, I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon."

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Leanna had heard many strange and wonderful sayings over the years, even to the point of adopting some of them, just like she had with certain celebrations. So hearing this American-ism from Max was one that she immediately liked. In some ways it reminded her of Jeffy who often gave sage advice. " I like this American-ism" Lea replied, deciding that she may actually remember this one, assuming that the baby brain didn't throw it out of the airlock. Age was something that Lea never really worried about and never judged anyone because of it either. Therefore if Max didn't feel his age and wanted to work for as long as he wanted to, then he would always have a place at the Beta. " We love having you around and the job's yours for however long you want it for".Shifting again as she could never stay in one place for too long, correction the babies didn't like her too. Lea repositioned herself and smiled as she helped herself to some more shrimp, whilst Shadow laid down beside Max's feet.

Send two of your people to the docking ring to escort our guest. Thea will meet her in the promenade security office." =A= There was her agreement to Thea's suggestion, too. At the same time, Judy also got a message from Ops to her PADD. "While you deal with whatever it is she wants, I'll go to Ops. Mr. Vulbrix, we can work on the hack from there."

How things were going in his vicinity lately Myker was certain they would. It seemed everyone was at least on the same wavelength on the risk of bringing the Orion onto the station. Myker returned to simply nodding in response to people, in this case Thea. There were easier ways to find out her motives but that was an ethical boundary Myker was not willing to cross and he doubted one would find a Betazoid on the station that was. What they did know was she wanted something and the Betazoid had little doubt that if she didn’t get it the station would be in serious danger. At the mention of Op’s Myker again simply answered with a nod, the frown ever present on his features. He waited on Eastman to head to ops before he followed. [SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade]After a brief conversation with the pair, Jov sent Stout and Kazeme to the docking bay to meet their 'guest'. This was one of those times she would have much preferred handling the situation herself... But Taggert had spent a majority of their time training stressing the need for delegation. He was right; Jov knew that. But that didn't mean she couldn't linger in the Promenade to be close by in case anything happened. [ Ens. Brad Stout / PO2 Azeen Kazeme - Front Ear - Docking Bay] It was easy enough to find the person they'd been sent to escort. If the hooded cloak didn't draw attention to her, the way everyone else stepped to the side to stay out of her way certainly did. With a single glance shared, the two men approached Hezula. "If you'll come with us, ma'am, we'll show you the way to the Promenade Security Office." Ensign Stout had a feeling that at least the illusion of politeness would go far better for him than trying to exert control and force.

[ Thea - Comms Centre] Letting Judy acknowledge Jovireh made sense to Thea as she mentally prepared herself to face the woman who they had managed to deceive all of those months ago. There was little else to say as Judy also included her in the call, glad that she hadn't had to convince her fellow Captain further about letting her handle it. When Judy then ended the call and told Thea that her and Vulbrix would go to Ops whilst she dealt with Hezula, Thea made a quick acknowledgement. " Understood, I'll keep you updated as to what she wants and how the meeting goes".With the Crime Boss's arrival imminent and not wanting to keep her waiting too long. Thea then exited the Comms Centre and entered a waiting turbolift. ******** [ Hezula - Docking Bay] Of course she expected to be greeted by Security personnel despite studying the layout of the bizarrely named station. Name aside, Hezula didn't underestimate the Fleeters either especially after their last encounter. Drawing the cloak tighter and ignoring the stares and people who quickly moved out of her way. Hezula stopped as the two in gold approached her. " Do what you must but be quick about it" she half demanded, eager to get going rather than hang about.

Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Comms -> Ops]With at least some of the ducks in a row, Judy led Myker to Ops, where she could most effectively manage the station's systemwide response. "Right, what else do we need to worry about?" she asked upon entering. "They've got a weapons lock on us, Ma'am," answered the Ensign at Tactical. "They're probably bluffing, but let's not risk it," she assessed. "Our new priority is to hack back into their computers, and disable those weapons."It was a dirty play, but they were dealing with criminals, after all.
