Captain's Log,
We're now entering into yet another quiet day. After the events of the Halloween party, we've had a somewhat unusual period of relative calm. Where station operations are concerned, things feel normal, with one exception: my own impending retirement from Starfleet. Although I'm not heading off to a top-secret assignment, and I have not disappeared in a tragic accident, this is still a significant change. In light of this, Thea is spending some time on the station, to learn whatever she has left to learn from me and to work on keeping her medical certifications up to date.
The only event that is remotely of interest today is that we are expecting a small VIP transport registered to a shell corporation. This is unfortunately a rather common practice in these parts, but we'll be keeping our eyes on this one, just in case. I'd hate to stumble at the finish line of my Starfleet career.
End log. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Promenade]Judy stepped out of the office block being set up for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Development, soon to be her new office, and onto the promenade. If something untoward were to happen involving the unknown transport, she trusted her crew to let her know.

[Primary Sickbay - CMO's Office]
Taking over her old office felt as though she had come home to Thea as she adjusted her Doctor's coat and took a seat behind the desk. Between preparing for Judy's impending retirement and everything that came with that in respect to the station and procedure. Thea also had to complete a couple of recertifications so she could keep practicing as a Doctor. To some it might not be necessary now that she was a Captain but considering what usually happened around here, it would of been foolish of her not to keep everything up to date.
Besides medicine ran through her veins and already having spent the last couple of days in Sickbay, Thea was in her element. Reminding her of where it all started and how she could never truly give up this side of her. It also allowed her to focus on something else as opposed to the usual day to day workings of command and running the station. So she was going to make the most of the opportunity before resuming her normal duties.
Of course that still involved meetings, clinic time and dealing with people other than the medical staff and patients. But for Thea it was what she thrived on and it was good to be back to full capacity after the last couple of months. Sure she missed going out on the Mac but looked forward to hearing all about the mission with the Ferengi Alliance as well as how Captain Vega worked with the crew. There was also the bonus of reuniting with Isaiah once they returned to the station.
" Captain Baker, sorry to interrupt but Nurse Mackenzie could use your help with a slightly stubborn Tellarite".
Looking up, Thea smiled as she acknowledged Frink, one of their orderlies. " No need to apologise Frink, I can deal with these reports later, I'll be right out to help Mackenzie".
Pushing back her chair slightly, Thea then got up and followed Frink out into the hub of Sickbay, quickly finding the Nurse and her stubborn patient.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks]
To say that Leanna was bored would be an understatement as the mother to be, attempted to get herself into a more comfortable position. Being on bed rest was something that she hated, even though she understood why it was necessary, especially after her most recent scare. This pregnancy hadn't been the easiest and with every niggle and pain, it seemed to be twice as bad, which had resulted in a couple of complications, thanks to the twins mixed physiology. The kind that had left her in her current position, not to mention having to give up work and most of her usual routine.
Well she hadn't given up work completely as she was still able to communicate with Seamus and her team, who sent regular updates with what was going on and allowed her to continue to give her input. Stubbornness and the need to do something, had led to a compromise with Riyo as long as she didn't get stressed.
Lea could do that and it certainly occupied her mind as opposed to the numerous scattered padds on the bed where she had tried and failed to read the latest holo novels. Finally finding some solace in the newest message from Seamus, as Shadow jumped onto the bed and curled up at the bottom of her feet. With the children at Day Care and Pre School and Riyo working his usual shift in the Clinic, there was only the two of them. So Leanna had no issue with letting the puppy keep her company and besides he was keeping her warm.
Hearing his contented noises made her smile as Lea then returned her attention to the message, wondering if she could put in a cheeky food order once she had finished.

[NPC - Max Williams - Civilian Decks]Like the rest of the Blue Beta team, Max naturally cared for Lea, and even as he was juggling the (welcome!) changes for his own family, could take some time to watch out for his friend and boss. In that spirit, he had made his way to visit Lea, armed with a decent portion of popcorn shrimp. He rang the chime with his free hand. "I heard you've been abandoned here," he called out.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Getting to the bottom of the message, Leanna tried not to giggle at the last comment, knowing that it would hurt or result in the twins doing somersaults under her ribs. Despite the possible discomfort, it was just too good not to react properly and Seamus had a way with words. She might be miserable and feeling somewhat sorry for herself but knew that it was temporary. Still she appreciated everyone's attempts to make her feel better. Roused from her thoughts by the sound of the door chime, followed by Shadow diving off the bed barking. Leanna knew he wouldn't harm anyone, especially when she heard a familiar voice call out. " That's what it feels like and I'm in the bedroom Max" she called back whilst Shadow jumped up excitedly at his owner's visitor.

[NPC - Max Williams - Family Quarters, Civilian Decks]Max was unfazed by Shadow's antics. The dog was, after all, a Williams by provenance. "No shrimp for you," he told the dog, a futile gesture if ever there was one. He walked into the bedroom, graceful as ever even as he kept the food away from Shadow. "Seemed to me you could use a treat," Max said to Lea. "Or maybe I just needed an excuse to indulge myself."He helped himself to the gift he had brought. After moving so many boxes, he earned it.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade]
Jovireh's life had gotten far busier than she ever remembered it being since Taggert had departed. The pile of reports on her desk appeared endless, as every time she turned around another PADD had been added to the stack. There had also been meetings she was now required to attend, messages demanding her attention, and notifications of events she needed to be aware of.
In order to keep up with it all, the Chief had swiftly fallen into a routine of getting as much done as possible before the end of her shift each day, a perhaps futile attempt to avoid the need to take her work home with her. Hardly a moment passed that she wasn't seen with a PADD in her hand, now was no different. She strode effortlessly across the Promenade, reading a report and sipping coffee while listening to the Petty Officer who was struggling to keep up beside her.
"And we have a VIP transport arriving at the docks shortly."
"Have they requested an escort?"
"Not yet, ma'am."
"Good. Let's hope they don't cause any problems while they're here. Anything else?"
"That's it for now, ma'am."
"Thank you. Dismissed."
The PO heaved a sigh of relief and stopped walking, watching as his new boss immediately disappeared into the crowd. How she was able to read, talk and walk at the same time and never run into someone was something that never ceased to amaze him.

[Staz Volkova - Front Ear - The Spotty Alibi]
The downside to being the newest employee... Staz was always scheduled the slowest shifts. There were a couple of regulars that drank throughout the afternoon... but she was lucky if even one other person came in. Not for the first time, the Ochiran was doubting her choice of employment. Though it wasn't like there were really any better options for her, so she leaned back against the wall behind the bar, twirling a dirty rag between her fingers. Someone was bound to come in eventually. Maybe they'd even be a good tipper. If she was really lucky, they might have more work for her. But that was a long shot. It wasn't as though she could advertise those services. Turning her back to the bar, she began to take inventory of the bottles lined up on the shelf. Again.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Kova wasn't certain if having earned larger quarters[fn]S2E6: The 'I' in Team[/fn] were a blessing or a curse. Considering that she now had house guests, she was banking on the latter. Kova had a system. She had a routine, and all of that had gone out the window thanks to the young woman that was sitting opposite her now. Biologically, the young woman Kova's daughter, not that she had ever given birth to her. One had to wrap their head through all the complications of temporal mechanics to understand exactly what had happened. And thus far, Kova had found herself patient, considering that Zyri had lost nearly everything she had ever known. Of course, now... she was here... with Kova... a constant reminder of what should have never been. ... or would never be... Damn those temporal mechanics.... The situation was annoying... perhaps even Zyri. She was a grown woman, but she clearly saw everything around her through the eyes of a child. In fact, it was that child-like wonder that was currently the reason that Kova's quarters were covered in scales from an Argellian lizard which seems to molt more than any other reptile Kova had seen. Someone thought it was a good idea to give her her first pet. And then, there was the climate control to compensate for not only their comfort, but the lizard's. The Andorian rolled her eyes and shook her head slowly. Zyri was too easily distracted, and her attention was everywhere other than where it should be. "You have forty-two seconds," Kova said. Zyri's eyes quickly snapped back to Kova at the announcement. Kova could hear the excuses already beginning to form on her lips. "Forget about what you've never seen before. If you fail you'll never get to see any of it again. Erase the personnel file, kill the Beta's lights and cover your tracks. Thirty-one seconds."
[NPC - Zyri Zh'raal - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] There was so much to see here. More than Zyri ever would have expected. Though, she had no idea how she was supposed to concentrate on the task Kova had given her with all these people... all these things. Zyri's head slowly turned as she watched a pair of Bynars stroll past. And then, she heard Kova... well, it wasn't yelling, but she clearly wasn't pleased. Zyri tried to turn her attention back to the task at hand. Less than thirty seconds! How was she supposed to finish this? "Okay... I'm in Security's database," she said... her fingers moving in a flurry of movements. "Wait... there's two? Which one do I delete?" Of course she knew that she wouldn't get an answer from the Andorian. One of them was real... the other was the one that Kova planted. She needed to be able to tell the difference... and she certainly couldn't delete the real one. That would be... bad. "The authentic marker... where is it? Starfleet keeps there's...." Of course the young hybrid had no idea how far her voice was potentially carrying.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Telling Shadow that he couldn't have anything was almost like dealing with a child, although Leanna had learned not to give into the pup all the time. As difficult as it was to do so and the fact that she knew his parentage, she had gotten wise and not let herself get wrapped around his little paw. That didn't stop deter the puppy from following Max back into the bedroom, no doubt hoping for some scraps or for one of the shrimp to fall in front of him. Then there was the fact that Max had brought shrimp with him and was glad that she hadn't ordered any food from the Beta yet. Thinking it was very thoughtful of him to do and smiled as he then spoke. " Thank you, I appreciate it Max and why not, it's always good to indulge every now and then" Lea replied, grinning slightly as Max then helped himself. " Feel free to pull up that chair over there and make yourself comfortable".If they were going to eat shrimp and chat, they both should be comfortable whilst doing so and having Max visit was a good way for them to catch up properly.

[The Crimson Revenger] Whilst those on board the strangely named Federation station had been expecting a small transport. It seemed as though they had been given false information as an Orion intercepter dropped out of warp, just outside the station's boundaries. To it's occupants and especially it's owner, this was all part of the pretence as to why they were truly here. Maintaining their cover until they had arrived was paramount, especially if this was to be resolved with minimum disruption to the Starfleet crew and those who called the station home. Normally the owner would leave such matters to their Captain and crew but considering the circumstances, they would be taking charge, especially after their last encounter with the Federation. " Captain Mace, open a channel to the station, it's time they know who they're dealing with"." Yes My Mistress .... channel is now open".The Orion woman grinned wickedly, before activating the viewscreen because what was the point in only using her voice when she needed to be seen. =CR= Front Ear, this is The Crimson Revenger, I believe that your Captain is expecting us and I don't wish to be kept waiting =CR=

[ LJG Myker Vulbrix - Communications Center - Front Ear] Myker had remained on the station as the Mac set out on some venture once more, after the last few times he was pleased for the respite. On his return from Talor he’d received a promotion, he wasn’t entirely expecting and this news he’d shared with his family which had led to many communications back and forth. His brother is especially talkative. While the Betazoid loved his family as much as the next guy, he wouldn’t say he was disappointed when work called. The shift was quiet, unusually so and Myker couldn’t help but feel like a quiet shift spelled impending disaster. This was Front Ear and it was too quiet. Something was bound to explode, or someone would get murdered, or they’d get sucked into a wormhole and end up even further out in the nothingness of space. Something was going to happen. The flicking of the comms panel would prove his intuition correct as he accepted the communication, he knew they were expecting someone so he was making sure to be ready to accept anything that came over the airways. What he didn’t expect was the Orion that appeared on his screen, this was certainly not the ‘small transport’ they were supposed to be seeing. Myker frowned lightly at the view screen and then responded. =FE= This is Front Ear, standby =FE=Myker shut muted his end of the communication, before tapping the comm badge pinned to the right side of his chest. =/\= Command this is Communication, our VIP has arrived...on the Crimson Revenger. Something tells me moving quickly would be smart =/\= The Betazoid figured the commanding officers would want to know what was going on before further steps were taken or the Orion was allowed on the station. The Betazoid didn't hold many prejudices but Orion's often spelt trouble. Judith Eastman and Thea Baker

Typical. =A= "I'll be up right away, Lieutenant," =A= she answered, and then beelined for the turbolift, with a swift stride practiced on the streets of Manhattan. She emerged promptly at the comms center, a smaller room than Ops but still nothing to scoff at. "What's our situation?"Judy had a feeling Thea wouldn't be far behind. [Primary Sickbay] Despite receiving a bust bottom lip whilst assisting Mackenzie with her patient. Together they were able to calm the Tellarite down, eventually sedating him in order to treat his lacerations and broken bones. Satisfied that he would make a full recovery and leaving him to rest. Thea then excused herself so she could mend her lip and change into a clean tunic. Being covered in blood wasn't a new experience for the Doctor, but didn't think it would go down too well or look encouraging when she attended her meeting later. Using the dermal regenerator, the split in her lip was soon healed as the call came through from Myker in Comms. Pausing for a second, Thea thought the name of the ship seemed familiar but couldn't pinpoint the exact reason why. Dismissing it for now, Thea tapped her commbadge. =/\= Acknowledged, I'm on my way =/\= Pulling on her new tunic, Thea adjusted her hair before relaying where she would be, knowing that Judy would likely arrive before her or at the same time. Then without further hesitation made her way to the nearest turbolift. ******** [Comms Center] After what felt like an age, the lift came to a stop and as the doors opened, Thea was given a glimpse of the comm center. A place that she had only visited a handful of times but appreciated it for what it was. It was such an integral part of the station and as she left the lift, could see Judy up ahead. Rather than interrupt as Judy enquired about the situation, Thea acknowledged both her and Myker with a polite nod.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade]
A voice above the din pulled Jovireh's attention away from the report in her hand. It wasn't necessarily the voice, or even volume, but rather the words spoken that caused her alarm. Security database... Delete... Authentication marker? If someone were actually attempting to hack into and delete files from the station's security database, Jov hoped they wouldn't be stupid enough to be talking about it so openly on the Promenade.
Even so, it was worth looking into, and as she glanced in the direction of the voice she immediately realized what was going on when she saw Kova sitting with a hybrid. Jov had heard there were a few people that had been rescued from the graviton ellipse... Mainly because one of them had ended up in the brig. There were also plenty of rumors surrounding the other two.
Taking a sip of her coffee, she made her way over to them. "Top right corner," she told the Andorian/Trill hybrid in regard to the authentication mark. While she didn't condone what was happening, she didn't see the harm in helping to make sure nothing important accidentally got deleted in this little exercise. Her gaze then shifted to Kova. "Of all the databases you could be teaching her to hack into, do you really have to use mine?"
