[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Comms -> Ops]With at least some of the ducks in a row, Judy led Myker to Ops, where she could most effectively manage the station's systemwide response. "Right, what else do we need to worry about?" she asked upon entering. "They've got a weapons lock on us, Ma'am," answered the Ensign at Tactical. "They're probably bluffing, but let's not risk it," she assessed. "Our new priority is to hack back into their computers, and disable those weapons."It was a dirty play, but they were dealing with criminals, after all.
Tag Myker Vulbrix [ Myker Vulbrix - Comms -> Ops] Myker followed Judy to Ops where they could work more effectively on reverting. Arriving in Ops thought it was clear they had other problems, namely weapons locked on the station. Myker looked to Judy as she mentioned they could be bluffing ."They're possibly more inclined to make it seem the opposite is true." Myker wasn't correcting Judy but why bluff about having a weapons lock on the station when they'd have a tactical advantage by hiding that fact.
[ Crewman Emerson Paxton - Operations - Front Ear] A different ensign piped up from the far corner. "We could reverse engineer the hack she used. Play them at their own game." He pointed out. Moving from behind the comms he was at. Emerson had been watching the progress of the hack in the system, he was making sure it couldn't go further that that. It would be a disaster if the Orion's could somehow gain control of their life support or something like that. Judith Eastman

"Let's do that, but first, why don't we move all the current comms scripts to run on the holodeck's computers, to cordon them off from all our other systems," she ordered.

[ Ens. Brad Stout / PO2 Azeen Kazeme - Front Ear - Docking Bay] "Right this way, ma'am." Brad didn't feel particularly comfortable turning his back on the cloaked visitor to lead her to the Promenade, but he trusted he partner - who fell in step behind Hezula - to act swiftly if she decided to try anything. As she requested (though not because she requested) he walked quickly, effortlessly clearing a path through the wandering people. It was only a few minutes before they were entering the security offices, and Stout gestured to a chair for her to sit in while they waited for Captain Baker to arrive, silently hoping she was almost there.

A figure dressed in all black popped out of a grate in the floor, brandishing a disruptor rifle, and then pulled the trigger. A powerful, green energy beam shot out, hitting Hezula in the back of the head as she entered the security office.
The figure then threw out a smoke grenade, and then disappeared back into the grate.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Leanna had heard many strange and wonderful sayings over the years, even to the point of adopting some of them, just like she had with certain celebrations. So hearing this American-ism from Max was one that she immediately liked. In some ways it reminded her of Jeffy who often gave sage advice. " I like this American-ism" Lea replied, deciding that she may actually remember this one, assuming that the baby brain didn't throw it out of the airlock. Age was something that Lea never really worried about and never judged anyone because of it either. Therefore if Max didn't feel his age and wanted to work for as long as he wanted to, then he would always have a place at the Beta. " We love having you around and the job's yours for however long you want it for".Shifting again as she could never stay in one place for too long, correction the babies didn't like her too. Lea repositioned herself and smiled as she helped herself to some more shrimp, whilst Shadow laid down beside Max's feet.
tag Judith Eastman [NPC - Max Williams - Family Quarters]Max laughed again, enjoying the rhythm of the conversation, though he was vaguely aware of the muffled sound of the station comms. Something out of the ordinary was happening - or had happened. "Are the loudspeakers always this bad here?" he asked Lea, as he gave Shadow a little scratch behind the ear.

[Staz Volkova - Front Ear - The Spotty Alibi]Well, while she was still trying to figure out if she would rather go investigate the new arrival on the station or find a better hiding place, she still had a job to do. Though her shift would be over soon, the next bartender hadn't shown up yet, so Staz might as well pay at least a little bit of attention to the handful of patrons in the bar. Wiping her hands on a stained rag, she walked over to the hooded figure sitting by themselves. "Anything I can get for you before I go?" Okay, so customer service wasn't exactly her best trait. Which was why she applied here instead of the Blue Beta. Her natural curiosity wanted to see what the patron looked like beneath the hood, but she was smart enough to know that was an excellent way to get killed. So instead she stayed a respectful distance away, one hand on her hip as she waited for an answer.

OOC: Warning: tasteless edgelord "humor" [NPC - Unknown - Spotty Alibi]"There is an old earth cocktail I've had my heart set on - the 9/11," the figure answered, in a voice that sounded like a male falsetto - a poor imitation of a feminine voice. "Take a Manhattan, mix in two flaming towers, and hit it with two kamikazes."To anyone who understood the reference, this was scandalous, but it was also time-consuming, given the number of ingredients and volume of booze involved.

[Staz Volkova - Front Ear - The Spotty Alibi]Staz listened intently as the person described their order, eyes flicking subtly back and forth as though reading the words in the air in front of her. It would perhaps be easier to remember had she ever actually been to Earth... But as it were, she would do her best to get it right. The more complicated the drink, the better the tip. Usually. So she gave the patron a smile. "I'll see what we've got." Hopefully even if they didn't have all the ingredients in stock, they'd at least have suitable substitutes. Tugging the rag in her back pocket, she sauntered back to the bar and began pulling out what she'd need. Of course, she'd noticed it sounded as though the person were intentionally altering the sound of their voice, but Staz had come to expect that from someone concealing their appearance. And though her curiosity continued to burn, she focused her attention on making the complicated drink rather than speculating who they might be or why they were hiding.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Leanna had been that engrossed in having a conversation with someone as opposed to talking to the dog, that she hadn't noticed the station comms. So when Max pointed out and Shadow reacted to the ear scritches, the Betazoid focused on what was happening elsewhere. " No not usually" she remarked. She could to tried to use her abilities to get a better understanding but these days she was only using them when needed. They had suffered along with the rest of her body and had promised not to over exert herself. " I'm sure if there was anything wrong we would of heard the alerts by now".Whatever the cause, she had the faith in the crew to resolve it as she didn't particularly want to go into labour right now if something serious was going to happen.

Tag Myker Vulbrix [ Myker Vulbrix – Ops – Front Ear] Myker wasn’t one to dismiss useful words and the Captain’s words were certainly noted, even if a puzzled expression came across the Betazoid’s face. Her words made sense somewhat. She continued mentioning how often a crazy person would try anything. ”It certainly depends on the type of crazy.” He noted, although it was likely irrelevant to point Eastman was making. He did question that reasoning though, willing to bend in order to retain the peace, sometimes things needed to break to restore ultimate order. ”Starfleet must be easy to push around.” He noted idly. If Starfleet were a force to be reckoned with, many criminals would be less inclined to even push them. Again a simple thought that crossed his mind and disappeared as his mind toyed with his newest puzzling truth obtained from the Captain. It had him confused and he wondered if it was human only thing. Once she’d done giving orders he thought it was the ideal time to question it with the Captain as he moved to assist with the moving of the comms scripts to something more isolated ”You’re afraid of drunks?”
[ Ensign Emerson Paxton – Ops – Front Ear] Emerson listened to the Captain as she ordered they move the comms scripts. ”Aye aye Captain.” The Ensign said, half laughing then shaking his head to right himself. This was serious and his nervous words weren’t needed ”That should isolate them enough. Prevent the Orion’s accessing anything vital.” Again nervous words spilling from his mouth, no doubt the Captain was aware this would be the case. They had a serious problem if the hack was already beyond their Comm systems. Even if it did, isolating the scripts would buy them some time to work on the hack and make it work in their favour. It was imperative they worked quickly that much he knew. "We could rework the source code to give us access to their weapons array." it was a suggestion, whether it was executable was another thing all together. Judith Eastman

[ Hezula - Promenade Security Office] Hezula wasn't interested in small talk or talking any further until she arrived at her destination. Not wanting to waste valuable breath on the security officers who were clearly not happy with their assignment. Perhaps they feared her just like everyone else that she came into contact with or at the very least intimidated by being in her presence. No doubt they were aware of who she was, her reputation and what she was capable of, but the fact that she had made it this far, proved that she had made the right decision. Whether she could trust the Fleeters and their discretion upon learning her secret was a completely different matter as she followed quickly behind the two men. Her identity might be shrouded by the cloak but there was no denying the continued whispers or pointed fingers in her direction until they were finally at the Promenade Security Office. Barely getting inside the door before she heard it ... a familiar noise that meant that she had been betrayed. There was no time to react only searing pain, fear etched across her face as she fell forward. Her last thought was of the precious cargo that she had been protecting as she slipped into unconsciousness. ******** [ Thea - Promenade] Wondering if the lift was being deliberately slow as it seemed to take longer than normal. Thea resisted the urge to curse at the thing or threaten it with the promise of being replaced as it finally came to a stop. Shaking off the angry thoughts and the time that might of been wasted. Thea then emerged from the lift and began walking along the Promenade. Acknowledging those that she passed as she continued onwards towards her date with the past and a meeting that should prove to be interesting, depending on what Hezula wanted. Quickening her pace as she got near to the Security Office.

She'd made the decision not to erode the crew's faith in the institution, even though her own faith was withered. "Give that a try, Mr. Paxton," she ordered, before turning her attention to Myker's other remark. "Oh, yes. I've been to enough college parties in my time to know that, given enough booze in a short span of time, some people will start acting like extras in a Klingon opera."Where the Captain's familiarity with Klingon opera came from was a whole different topic.
Tag Myker Vulbrix [ Myker Vulbrix - Ops] Myker didn’t question the Captain further about Starfleet, he’d seen enough to know that it had many weaknesses and often isn’t this shining beacon of hope it plays itself out to be but at it’s core Starfleet aspires to be that and that is enough to keep the Communications officer around even if he questions the choice on a near daily basis. He had little faith in the Starfleet of now, but his faith in what Starfleet could be was firmly intact for now. ”Right if Klingon’s had the balance of a toddler and the stomach of an 80 year old human.” He noted, not entirely denying the truth of Eastman’s words but also knowing drunks were often uncoordinated at best, unless they were actually Klingon then he would be staying way out of dodge.
[ Emerson Paxton - Ops- Front Ear] ”Yes Captain” Emerson responded scratching the back of his neck as some anxiety crept in, he wasn’t even sure he could achieve that. He wasn’t a hacker and although he could code it was done to protocols and such. Hacking was far more backdoor than he was used to. He looked at the coding within Hezula’s hack, he knew what could be done but whether he could achieve it he was uncertain of. Regardless he made a start on the coding side, beyond that he wasn’t even sure it would work. The topic of conversation between the Captain and Communications officer was amusing, it wasn’t something one would expect to be discussing while they had Orion weapons locked onto the Station that housed many folks, a large number of which were civilians. ”A Klingon soap opera Ma’am?” Emerson expressed his curiosity without shifting his attention from his task but that was something of a curiosity. That Captain Eastman was familiar with Klingon Soap operas. Emerson hardly was. Judith Eastman
