[Felicity Ellis - Jungle, Kerelia]The mention of Taco Bell made her realise how hungry she was. The huge chain might not have made it out of the USA all those centuries ago, but it had somehow made it to space. She said nothing in response, though when Doug made his comment about leaving his notes in his bathroom on the Station, Felicity met Jett's look and then pressed her lips tightly together, trying not to laugh. [ Lyric- Z-1, Kerelia In response to Capt. Ellis, she gave one look at the weird bug with a weird face, even as well as noticing that it looked like a common house hold fly. " It looks like an ordinary household fly on Earth...minus the head. Have fun making new friends," She added, to the captain as she began to scan it with her tricorder. The things on this planet were strange and different. The problem with having a fear of bees is? They tend to follow scared people around. " He looks happy on his leaf." Lyric knew she wouldn't really think otherwise of this buzzing fly-bee. " Maybe he should have the name Fly-Bee." She suggests helpfully as she slowly eased away from the new insect the captain just found. "Hope Fly-Bee stays on his happy leaf." She slowly walks away from the bug. It was clear, that she wasn't just afraid of bees. It was so- silly to be a little afraid around the pollinator as Doug called it. " Oh! If there's one. There's more than one. Don't they work together to pollinate the world? And where is the nest?" She hadn't pulled her tricorder. Only because she was using her hearing and sights to observe. She was also cataloging along the way, as she explored the area away from the bug's view of thousands of her. "It may also have compound eyes so it sees thousands of you." She said thinking about the flies on Earth. "That is if it's anything like the insects on Earth." As she walked towards another curious- looking interesting tree, she raised her tricorder. " Like a jelly fish does in the ocean and in the darkest depth of the ocean. I wonder if there are sea creatures here that also glow." As luck would have it, Lyric was thoroughly enjoying herself on this new world. It was place that was so interesting. She would love to wander alone, but that would prove dangerous. She saw something of interest and tried her tricorder on the mass of unidentified jungle ivy. She didn't identify it yet so with a thought of perhaps being poisonous, she pulled her backpack off her shoulders and took out some gloves. She hoped..this wouldn't be a bad idea. Lyric hoped there was no acidic chemicals. She pulled on her gloves and picked a few leaves. "Fly-Bee, huh?" She repeated Lyric's suggestion aloud, her attention back on the little creature on its leaf, and the Science Officer chatting beside her. "I like it." She began searching the area for more of its kind, looking for evidence to prove Ensign Sinclair's theory about grouped pollinators. The collective good humour felt contagious, and the Captain had to stop herself from continuing to speak aloud to their discoveries. A short distance away she thought she heard her name being mentioned, but when she looked up, there didn't seem to be anyone looking her way. She turned her gaze back toward Sinclair, who was scanning a nearby tree and theorising again, this time about Kerelia's sea creatures. "There might be!" She said enthusiastically about the potential of glowing ocean-life. As much as she was loving the trek through the jungle, Felicity's affinity for water would always trump that. "I'll be organising an excursion to a stretch of coast on the southernmost continent for the end of the week, you should come. You too, Lieutenant!" She raised her voice a little to be heard by the counselor, who appeared to have slipped into quiet, observation mode. LZ-2 might have been the logical second choice for the colony location, but Felicity was perhaps the more curious about that area than any other and it was as good a place as any for she and Lieutenant Riordan to set a few team-building tasks. Secretly, of course. He then looked at the doctor and asked “How many more hours of Daylight do you estimate we have Doctor?” . Tom asked as he was curious. As questions turned toward Doug, she found herself drifting off a little from the group, still on the hunt for the Fly-Bee's friends. "Couple of hours left," she answered Jett's query when it became apparent that the El-Aurian was perhaps fielding too many. "Ah!" Her eyes lit up when she caught sight of more winged, fanged little creatures. A small number of them were hovering around another plant, their strange mouths open as though in song. She crept closer, tricorder out again, ready to have their data inputted and added to the masses they were already collecting, when they suddenly, as one, dispersed and flew away. Frowning, she started after them. [Costa - Beyond LZ-1, Kerelia]She swiped at her brow, the frayed, leather strap on the handle of her machete scraping across her forehead with the movement of her hand. She'd long since lost her jacket. Her hair was pulled sharply back into a high ponytail in order to allow a breeze, any breeze, cool the back of her neck. Her vest was stuck to her like a second layer of sweaty skin, and her boots were chaffing right above her ankles, just beneath her combats. It might have been her "look", but it definitely wasn't smart jungle attire. One hand swung the large blade, effortlessly slicing through the fronds on her way, while the other slapped regularly at the uncovered parts of her. Naturally, she'd been so distracted by her own little mission, that she'd forgotten to apply any repellent. She soldiered on, getting closer and closer to that little red 'x' on her map. It was the spot where the mineral deposits had been marked, and it was where she needed to be. She was so intent on it that it took her quite some time to notice the lithe shadow, following her from the branches above. When she finally looked up, it hissed at her. "Catmon-ting," she muttered, narrowing her shaded eyes up toward it. "Feck off."She kept walking, it kept following, she mumbled curses and observations as she moved. "Not this brave on the station, was ya?" It made no response, and barely any sound as it weaved its way effortlessly through the greenery above. "If ya wasn't the colour o' shite, would make ya inta coats."Costa, who was normally more of the silent type, kept the commentary up for another kilometer or so. Perhaps it helped with her nerves. Her eyes fluttered up toward the catmon frequently, trying as much as possible to keep it in her sights as she traveled. She was staring up into the branches overhead, trying to locate the stalking carnivore, when her foot snagged in the root of a tree and she fell forward, flat on her face. Her machete thumped to the ground next to her, and her handheld device flew through the air.

She crept closer, tricorder out again, ready to have their data inputted and added to the masses they were already collecting, when they suddenly, as one, dispersed and flew away. Frowning, she started after them. [ Lyric Sinclair - LZ1, Kerelia] Lyric couldn't help but look at the ivy. "What is Rule 7?" She thought as she decided to catalog the Ivy she found. " What is Rule 7?" She asked, listening to Doug. "What's Evoran Ivy?" She didn't know a lot about this planet except that everything on this planet was a scientists' dream. Whether they studied biology, entomology, herpetology, any field with an -ology. " I think I have a name for this ivy." She announced. " I think it should be called Kerelian Creeping Ivy. No...wait...Climbing Kerelian Green Ivy. Because it climbs up from the ground to that huge hulking structure over there." She points to the rest of the plant. (Felicity Ellis)Lyric- LZ-1 Kerelia] " Yes. Note the body. It has the greenish- tint- on it while in the sun." She stated matter of factly, " And it's song is alluring too. Intoxicating even. What may look harmless and innocent, is actually a huge threat if there's more." The next theory she offered to the captain was, " If they are pollinators, they would only focus on one thing. Collecting pollen buds on their legs. There isn't any pollen buds on it's legs." She continued to tell her her knowledge of Earth Bees. "Here's what's odd." She added, " It's not even in flight. It's sitting on a 'leaf' more than heading to a flower. Appearances are deceiving. A Fly buzzes. A bee hums because of it's wings." She explains her clarification to the Captain. " My friend's father was a keeper of bees. She taught me a little about how honey bees and some other bees pollinate flowers and plants. Honey bees dance when they find pollen. This single solitary bee could be - like a mud-dauber, a yellow jacket, a hornet, it may even be a predator- because of the mouth and the way these two teeth are." Lyric was good at pointing out the difference between two different bees. Science had it's advantages. " Also with it's mouth and teeth, it looks like it sucks blood for sure. It may be an equivlent of a mosquito instead." Lyric loved swimming in the water. But she wasn't an aquatic marine biologist. She hadn't taken courses. " I don't have qualifications as a marine biologist. But maybe I can read some holobooks on what they do." She said, as she worked on the Ivy classification. Then Lyric offered another suggestion. " Have you ever thought of two bases? One here and one by the ocean?" It may seem like Lyric was a mind reader, but she wasn't. She was also a very talkative scientist which couldn't be helped. As soon as she finished her Ivy classification, she turned to talk again to Captain Ellis, but she was heading off somewhere with her tri-corder. Maybe she found something more interesting and started to follow the captain into the jungle. She could see what Captain Ellis was following. " Hey, Captain. You know you shouldn't go alone in the jungle. It's dangerous to go alone. Sticking together is better than going alone and what is with these 'fly-bees'. I thought I saw many and now I see one?" .

[Rylonis Trellgin, Transport Carrier Ark - Kerelia] Rylonis watched and listened as Captain Felicity spoke to them, mentioning their duties. When she said something about that it was the Science teams turn to shine, she nodded in agreement. She was very excited to finally get to explore something new, something no one else had yet. She felt a shiver of excitement work its way up her spine and she grinned, still listening to the captain, until she went to the cockpit. She looked around at the science team in a form of appraisal. She knew her strengths were in archaeology, but she also loved anthropology, so she was doubly excited to see about any fauna on the planet. She actually started to get goosebumps when they began their descent. Once they landed she unbuckled herself and began getting her things together, before walking off the shuttle. Upon exiting she looked to another one of the science officers, since she'd not met them yet, and she couldn't help overhearing the woman. Rylonis looks at the other science officer and smirks. " Don't worry, if there are insects, then I'll gladly take a look at them," she says with a chuckle. " Looks like we will be wroking together, I'm crewman Trellgin, but please, call me Rylo, short for Rylonis," she says, extending her hand out to Lyric, after having put her backpack on and getting her footing under her. [ Lyric Sinclair, Transport Carrier Ark - Kerelia, -LZ-1) Lyric couldn't agree more. She liked working as a team, since she was used to working with her instructors in the academy. She smiled briefly at Rylonis, "I'm good with some insects. It's just that I don't like bees. They stung me once and I've been afraid of them ever since." Lyric shook her hand. "But I don't let the fear of bees stop me. I'm Lyric." She extended her hand and shook hers. "Pleasure to meet you." Maybe she would get some new friends and she was slow on disembarking as well. The differences between the gravity was noticeable and if you weren't careful, you could end up falling down the ramp and face-planting the soft soil. Then end up as a laughable joke or something? She didn't know how the crew would react. Klutz, she was not. "Is this your first mission?" She couldn't help but ask. It was hers and she was excited, but a little nervous. She wondered if everyone ever had some nervous feeling on their first mission? "It's my first mission." She explained.[Lyric - LZ-1]
Lyric was 'settled' a little by Isaiah's remark. It wasn't entirely her fault since she was afraid of bees. It stemmed from being stung by a cluster of them. But she hoped that there weren't any clusters of bees and the last thing she would expect was to actually step into their nest accidentally. The reaction towards bees or stinging insect with a stinger caused her to scream and run. Causing the bees to curiously follow her or give chase. "Thank you, Isaiah."
She was beginning to like being apart of this crew. She still had a lot to learn about them. [ Lyric- Z-1, Kerelia In response to Capt. Lyric hoped there was no acidic chemicals. She pulled on her gloves and picked a few leaves. She turned to Doug as he spoke, not forgetting her ivy. " Not on blood thinners myself," She replied. " What do you know about the ivy here? Does it have any acidic compounds? Or poison? I know that if three leaves are clustered together, stay away. If not clustered together, it's ok?" Fortunately, using gloves to touch anything provided some protection against any poison. Unfortunately, if she can't use them again, she would know from Doug's advice. She was eager to know more about the planet. She was inputting the ivy into her notes. Every thing had to be noted and classified. It may even serve a medicinal purpose. She didn't doubt she found a different flora. If Felicity had learned anything during her time with the Fleet, it was to never judge a book by its cover. No matter how ridiculous said cover was. She couldn't quite help the small chuckle that erupted and the dimples in her cheeks deepened as she eyed the creature. "Hi, fella," she muttered as she hunched a little, her tricorder held aloft. Her eyes swept not just the unknown bug, but also the leaf it was resting on. "Bioluminescent?" She theorised aloud, looking at some of the glowing colours that encircled the plant's stem. "This place must be as beautiful at night as it is during the day."[...] He turned his attention to the bug. "This species looks like a pollinator," he opined. "It's very bright, which I imagine is a defense mechanism, to make it look venomous. Not ideal if you're trying to suck out blood."He eyed PooDoo, to see how she was reacting. However, she was more engaged in eyeing a nearby tree, unsure if she could, or should, climb it while leashed. It looked so tall, and she was so tiny. "There are insects aplenty, I assure you all," he then added. "I hope no one's on blood thinners here, because we've had folks get bitten before."Taking the opportunity and not paying attention to the insect at all he turned into the Ensign. Following Felicity’s advice, he thought it would be an excellent opportunity to get to know the crew a little better. He first approached quietly to the Ensign and introduced himself. “Ensign, hi my name is Jett”. He said as he tried to extend this hand. He then looked at the Ensign and wanted to ask “So Ensign, what brings you to the Mac?” . Tom asked as he was genially curious to hear the persons story. [...] As he mentioned that the species could be potentially poisonous, then Jett tried to get farther away from the group of people. He responded “No thanks sucking blood is not my style, I am more a Team Jacob, type of person” . He said. He then looked at the doctor and asked “How many more hours of Daylight do you estimate we have Doctor?” . Tom asked as he was curious. Lyric was 'settled' a little by Isaiah's remark. She didn't doubt she found a different flora. [Ens. Isaiah Quinn - LZ-1, Kerelia] Isaiah's eyes narrowed as he stared at his screen. There had been a cluster of plants in front of him that were giving off strange readings. Essentially, he had never seen some of the organic compounds inside of plants before. They were typically found in fauna rather than flora. His eyes lifted from his tricorder to the cluster. He started to reach out to collect part of it for a sample when another of the civilians approached him. He introduced himself as Thomas Jett. The name sounded vaguely familiar, but Isaiah couldn't place it just yet. Either way, he seemed to be friends with the Captain. Turning his attention from the plant, Isaiah raised his hand to meet Jett's. "Isaiah Quinn, sir," he said introducing himself. When he asked what had brought him to the Mac, Isaiah chuckled slightly. "Truthfully, sir: orders." Isaiah took a deep breath before continuing. "I go where Starfleet sends me. However, I do enjoy a challenge, and this posting has definitely been challenging. I've enjoyed myself out here so far, and that's definitely thanks to Captain Ellis. She was handed quite a mess, but managed to bring a lot of order to a world of chaos. So, while orders may have brought me here, given the choice at this point, I'd probably stay exactly where I am."There was one thing that was puzzling Isaiah, however. "Excuse me, sir. I wasn't intentionally eavesdropping, but... Taco Bell?" He had no idea what Jett had been talking about. Dr. Zaman began speaking once more about the insects. It seemed that they were quite prominent on this planet and played quite a role in the pollination of the plants, as Isaiah had suspected. As he mentioned that some may be venomous and others may bite to consume blood, it didn't seem to sit well with Jett. He backed away mentioning he was more Team Jacob. Isaiah's eyes widened in recollection. "Ah. Now, that one I understand," he said with a bit of pride. He could recall going through that series of holo-novels. It started off for a girl, but he had to admit, it had been interesting. "And... Team Edward always had the advantage."Isaiah nodded in Lyric's direction as she thanked him. She was now standing near Rylo and appeared to be examining the insect that the Captain had noticed. He listened as best he could to her recitation of her findings from her observation. It brought his attention to what he had been studying before Jett had come over. Though, when he turned back to look at the cluster of plants with the organic proteins... it was gone. "What? Where did it go? It was right here." he said looking around. He hadn't moved at all, and the plant had been right there. He was starting to wonder if there had been more to 'Harvey' moving about the station than someone being playful with a transporter. Either that, or he was already cracking. A glance falling in Lieutenant (j.g.) Riordan's direction did little to appease his fear of the latter.

" Ah, okay, I understand," she said as she started to look over the insect curiously. " First mission on a completely new planet, yes, but I served on a different Starship before being assigned here," she explained, then her ears caught Isaiah's words. " Where did what go?" she asked curiously, looking between him and Lyric. She was highly team oriented and driven, she didn't think any of them should work solo being on a new planet. She smiled at them both, awaiting Isaiah's response. As she waited she pulled out a Tricorder of her own and began to take readings curiously. She then looked at Isaiah. " Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't introduce myself," she said, holding a hand out to him. " Crewman Rylonis Trellgin," she said cheerfully.

The plant she studied and still had in her grasp hadn't disappeared. "What's going on with these disappearing plants?"She thought. " Maybe, it wasn't really there." She offered an explanation to Isaiah. "Maybe these plants that are disappearing are a defense against us?" The plant life was acting too funny. "There's another explanation. A plant that can move has some form of intelligence. Like if someone is blocking the sun from the plant, it will move to another sunny location. Or the fly-bees are using these disappearing plants as a defense. Like - a symbiotic relationship." She read something about that in one of the Academy holobooks where some plants can pick themselves up and move to another area. [Lyric Sinclair, Transport Carrier Ark - Kerelia- LZ-1] "Yes." Lyric returned a smile. "I've not been on any ship before this. They had me assigned mostly on Earth under some brilliant scientist instructors and learned a lot. I've learned that everything has a purpose. Even this bug that looks like a Fly-bee. Many of these plants are alien to me, but if all plants are the same, they require sun for photosynthesis and creating chlorophyll to use as food. Unless I'm mistaken. It wouldn't surprise me if the plants developed legs and walked which is weird." She explained.
Then she smiled again. "It's nice to meet you both." She adds.

[Diamond Dog to LZ1]
Alex had more or less come back to grips with being planetside. Still, he'd never fully liked planets and it showed. He walked carefully and deliberately, slightly stooped as if he felt the sky might at any minute collapse in on him. Although the issues of bone density was managed, there was nothing quite like the muscle fatigue and oxygenation issues that planets brought with them. Uneven terrain, lower oxygen levels compared to many spacecraft, and the awful humidity.
Caves were a much better place to be, if one had to be planetside. Underground, where you could see your surroundings and knew exactly how far up the ceiling went. Even underground bunkers were nice, protected, and safe. Regardless, people chose to live on the surface and so he'd go there to help. Besides his obvious uncomfortability with the sky, the humidity and its effects were obvious, with a light band of sweat just below his hairline.
His bag had two emblems blazoned on it, slung across his back with smaller replicas of the symbols on the arm straps. The first was a white background with a loud, red plus symbol, an ancient Earth symbol for medical assistance, and the second the more common white Caduceus on a vibrant blue background. They were meant to gather attention, and to be easily recognizable in situations where they would be needed.
As he finished the crossing and entered the clearing the Fleet types had named "LZ1" in only the most creative of names, he looked around, trying to find whoever was in charge of medical services. He may not be fleet, but he could be useful. At the very least, if they didn't want his help, he could find where they were and avoid that place.
He continued into the area through the tinted lenses covering his eyes, trying to stay out of the way but also evaluate the clearing and the people within.

Isaiah's eyes narrowed as he stared at his screen. [LZ1 Kerelia – Playing Follow the Leader] Tom walked with the group as he tried to get to know the Ensign. His attempt to follow the Captain’s advice and trying to get to know the crew was something he was trying. The First-person under her command that he was meeting was an Ensign named Isiah Quinn. He listened to the Ensign’s perspective that he was there under orders. Jett smiled as it was a simple, yet probably the most honest answer that he could expect. “I can respect that Ensign. Also, Jett is enough, I’m not a Starfleet Officer no need to address me as Sir. Just trying to make friendly conversation. “. Tom responded with a slight smile. He knew that Quinn did not mean anything bad. It’s just he does not want to be confused as a Starfleet Officer. Even though he was exploring with them and unlike Dr. Zaman it was not obvious his presence to the planet. As he mentioned about his Taco Bell comment, Jett reacted with a smile. “It’s an ancient earth restaurant that used to sell really cheap food late a night and drunk people loved it. It was a common joke that you asked a sober person where is the nearest Taco Bell and their response was I don’t know. But, if you got them drunk, they would magically remember every Taco Bell Location.” . [NPC - Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman - LZ-1, Kerelia]"Taco Bell?" Doug exclaimed questioningly. "Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time, Mr. Jett. Not very flattering to us of the scientific profession."Doug had made the mistake of eating at a Taco Bell... thrice. He'd gotten very sick after each meal. Jett smiled and responded sarcastically “What do you mean? I’m sure one of the unanswered questions of the Universe is whether Taco Bell’s Beef Tacos is considered scientifically Beef. I bet they were studies on the subject. . Jett responded as he was obviously teasing the Scientist. As the conversation of the Taco turned to Twilight, he smiled as he heard that he was a member from Team Edward. And that he had the advantage. Jett looked at the man and said “If one of them is poisonous, you can take one for the team and suck up his or her blood. I rather stay alive thank you very much” . The civilian hoped that he would get his sense of humor as they were exploring a new planet. As he heard that is was the other Ensign first mission. Jett could not help but nod at her direction. Hopefully, it was just a stroll in the jungle. One thing was for sure their Captain was no rookie and she would probably guide them as much as he could. He then turned his attention to the Captain. [Felicity Ellis - Jungle, Kerelia]"Fly-Bee, huh?" She repeated Lyric's suggestion aloud, her attention back on the little creature on its leaf, and the Science Officer chatting beside her. As they talked about possible excursions, Jett smiled at the Captain as she appeared to have the heart of the explorer. He walked to pick up the pace and walk next to her as she was trying to catalog different species. He looked at her and merely said “Enjoying yourself Captain? I don’t think I have seen you smile this much” . Tom observed. As they talked about the Science of the area, Jett took a second and listened to Felicity that they had some hours of sunlight so hence there was no need to rush. He grabbed from his backpack and took out a canteen figure which had water. He took a gulp of the water and offered to the people “Water anyone? It’s good to keep yourself hydrated”. Jett offered as he wanted to make sure that they were all safe. He observed a familiar Lt. in the background. Last time he saw she was drunk and thinking that he was a Stripper. “Don’t worry Luitenant. There are no poles in the area to be a stripper” . The man said as he smiled at her to indicate that he remembered their first greeting. Taking a second he looked at the people and said “Let me see if I remember Dr. Zaman, Ensing Quinn, Ensign Sinclair and Crewwoman Trellgin” . Tom responded as he wanted to make sure that he got their names straight. As they discussed Science he would take a step back as he was merely observing them doing their job.

[ Thea - LZ1, Kerelia] It took Thea a moment to realise that Ensign Sren had followed her, although appreciated having the extra help on the planet, as it also gave her a chance to get to know the junior officer who had recently been assigned to her department. Acknowledging the Ensign with a friendly smile as she shared with them about what she was able to find on the database regarding the PooDoo Influenza, that had been mentioned by Doug. Admiring not only her tenacity in checking the information straightaway but also how it now saved her a job for later. " Thank you, Ensign, that was very insightful and something we can certainly put in place, once the triage and medical prefabs are put up and to also remember, should anyone get bitten".Returning to the conversation with Ozu, Thea smiled again at the Chief's response to what had been said, pleased to hear that it would work and that there was a number of options available. Following her line of sight as she pointed these options out and explained each one to Thea and thought about the different areas as to where to establish the medical prefabs. The CMO also appreciated that it was down to her preference and could start to imagine how it would all look. " Its appreciated Chief and hmm lots of choice, but I think we can go for having them completely separate, that way if they need to be extended we have the room for it, plus I suppose it will also help when it comes to establishing the rest of the camp, although I imagine that they can be moved if not suitable for the colonists". [ Ozu Saya - LZ 1 - Kerelia] Indeed, Saya responded with a small smile. It should take only an hour or so to get the shell up, then you can direct the engineers in how you'd like everything inside arranged. She headed over to the area Thea had chosen and quickly staked out the corners, then gestured for a couple of her team to start bringing panels over and setting them up. The operations building was already beginning to take form on the other side of the clearing. Saya had brought a team of her most efficient (and least troublesome) engineers, so she didn't anticipate any difficulties on that front. Saya returned to Thea's side and observed the work for a few moments before turning to the young officer that had joined them. Ensign, or is it Doctor? she asked politely. Is this your first assignment? She returned the Master Chief's nod in greeting with a small smile. The Lieutenant Commander commenting on Lurai suggesting the vaccine was met with another nod and a smile of thanks. They were clearly busy, so the Ensign stood listening to her two superiors as they discussed the triage tent site, while reading through the ingredient list on the vaccine. It would be easy to produce. Looking up from the PADD as Saya returned and addressed her, she smiled. ”Well, I am a doctor, but Ensign would indeed be the correct rank, Ma'am. Yes, this is my first 'real' assignment so to speak, though I did my residency on a ship. I'll try not to cause too much mayhem here.” The last bit was spoken jokingly, although she was perfectly aware that there was a great risk she'd make mistakes, what with being completely green and all. ”I've never been on a planet as unexplored as this before.” She looked around at the lush greenery. ”It's amazing.” Pausing she continued: ”Have you been on the USS Mac long, Chief?”

Smiling appreciatively, especially with the amount of effort that was being put into all of this, in order to ensure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. " That's great Chief, thankyou and I look forward to seeing it when its ready" she replied, before Saya left them for the time being. With Sren reading, Thea took a moment to once again appreciate Kerelia, happy in the knowledge that it wouldn't be long before she got to see the prefabs and begin the task of arranging everything, with the engineers and her team. For now though she could make the most of the view and the heat, whilst being mindful of her fair skin. When Saya then returned and engaged Sren in conversation, it was nice to hear them chat, as it also gave her an insight into the Ensign. Although when she spotted a fair haired man, wearing eye protection against the sun and carrying a bag, denoting medical emblems, the Redhead became intrigued as to who this individual was and clearly someone of the same discipline, even if he wasn't fleet. Curiosity got the better of Thea as she wondered who he might be looking for or perhaps he wasn't, either way, she decided to find out, in case he needed help or well it was always good to talk to people. " If you'll excuse me for a moment, I'll be right back".Leaving Saya and Sren to talk, Thea walked over to the man and introduced herself. " Hi there, I'm Thea, can I help you at all?" she asked in her polite and friendly Yorkshire accent.

Rylonis nodded and smiled at Lyric. Lyric looked away from her observation of the bug as she explained something to the captain and Rylo. [...] "Yes." Lyric returned a smile.
Tom walked with the group as he tried to get to know the Ensign. His attempt to follow the Captain’s advice and trying to get to know the crew was something he was trying. The First-person under her command that he was meeting was an Ensign named Isiah Quinn. He knew that Quinn did not mean anything bad. It’s just he does not want to be confused as a Starfleet Officer. Even though he was exploring with them and unlike Dr. Zaman it was not obvious his presence to the planet. Tom responded as he wanted to make sure that he got their names straight. As they discussed Science he would take a step back as he was merely observing them doing their job. [Ens. Isaiah Quinn - LZ-1, Kerelia] Isaiah listened as Jett explained what a Taco Bell actually was, but only after insisting that Isaiah refer to him as simply Jett. He made quite a point about stating that he wasn't a Starfleet officer. That was obvious, given his attire. Though, Isaiah certainly wasn't about to judge the man's fashion sense. Besides, it took a great deal more than people thought to pull off a leather-look. Especially, in this climate. It still said nothing to describe his affinity with the Captain. Yet, that was hardly any of Isaiah's business. "Understood, sir... I mean, Jett."Jett's actual description of the restaurant, however, did remind him of some places that he frequented when he was back in the Academy. Sure, there were times where cadets would get together in a celebratory function, and there were certainly restaurants that they would flock to in the aftermath of such parties. He could never recall a Taco Bell personally, though. That either spoke to its rarity since Dr. Zaman was apparently familiar with it as well, or to the nature of the parties that Isaiah had attended. As his attention returned to the mysterious plant, or rather it's disappearance, Isaiah was easily a bit anxious about its disappearance. Rylo was the first to speak towards it, to which he responded. "Isaiah Quinn," he said taking her hand and introducing himself. His attention returned back to the location, or rather the plant's previous location. "There was a plant here a moment ago. A bush, I suppose...." His voice trailed off, as he didn't want to get wrapped up in such details. "It's not here anymore. It's gone."Lyric then replied that perhaps it was a defense mechanism, or even some sort of adaptation of the plant to move of its own accord. Isaiah's eyes narrowed. "Disappear from sight, perhaps," he agreed. "But to elude the scans from our tricorders?" He still wasn't convinced that the plant had just decided to get up and walk away for a water break. A long sigh left his lips. He was tempted to turn the tricorder on himself and conduct a scan. Of course, that would likely lead him to being stuck in a medical tent for the rest of the afternoon. His eyes glanced once more in Counselor Riordan's direction. If not the medical tent, than a couch, he thought. Hearing the offer of water from Jett, Isaiah reached and grabbed his own container. Perhaps the heat was starting to get to him. He took a sip, and then his eyes returned to his tricorder. It would be easy to just explain it all away as happenstance, but he was too stubborn to admit that his mind was playing tricks on him. The passing thought that he had been bitten by some insect that injected him with a venom that caused psychotropic delusions was still low on a list of theories, but far from dismissed.

Lyric looked away from her observation of the bug as she explained something to the captain and Rylo. [...] "Yes." Lyric returned a smile.
Tom walked with the group as he tried to get to know the Ensign. His attempt to follow the Captain’s advice and trying to get to know the crew was something he was trying. The First-person under her command that he was meeting was an Ensign named Isiah Quinn. [...] As they talked about the Science of the area, Jett took a second and listened to Felicity that they had some hours of sunlight so hence there was no need to rush.

And then came Jett's next Taco Bell comment. "I try not to think of Taco Bell, Mr. Jett. Having it in my mind reminds me of the times I've had it in my stomach," he pointed out. Then, he continued looking around, as did Pood. Until Jett's naming question came. "It's Sir Doug Zaman, thank you," he corrected. "I'm looking for a squire, actually, if you're interested."However, PooDoo's attention was then drawn to Quinn and what he was examining. Doug followed the tug on his leash, and found his foot stopping only millimeters away from stepping in a small pile of animal droppings of some kind, about a meter away, disguised in the ground. "A missing bush, you said?" he asked. "Very interesting. Might have to do with this poop here."PooDoo, naturally, decided she had to poo in the same location.

"An alien planet has new life. New plants. New animals. Maybe there are things we haven't seen yet."Lyric wasn't trying to be a 'basket-case' as they say. But this was her first mission and she may be a little too excited or too talkative. She may not even get asked to go on another mission. Things weren't always explainable unless you were a genius. She was planning on asking Doug about the prospect of moving plants. "Many plants always move towards the sun. I just thought maybe that would be it?" She wasn't 'thinking' illogically, was she? She hoped she was.
Without realizing that she may need a drink of water, she took her canteen and drank some water. Feeling a little better and less thirsty, she breathed a sigh through her lips. "I don't think it liked being scanned with the tricorder or something else may have made it move." [ Lyric-LZ-1 Kerelia] Lyric was excited about the ivy and as much as she could talk someone's ears off, she hoped it wasn't too much. "Am I too talkative?" She wondered in thought. She choose the time to listen, but couldn't help but chuckle about how the PooDoo decided to take advantage of relieving itself near the plant that had moved or disappeared off the tricorder. "Now I know why they're called PooDoo's." She said in an amused voice.

[ Thea - LZ1, Kerelia] Although when she spotted a fair haired man, wearing eye protection against the sun and carrying a bag, denoting medical emblems, the Redhead became intrigued as to who this individual was and clearly someone of the same discipline, even if he wasn't fleet. [Alex Hust - LZ1]
Alex had made almost half a revolution around the staging area, observing and taking in much of the clearing before he was approached by a woman in teal-colored uniform which couldn't be mistaken for anything but Sciences or Medical of Fleet. His dislike of Fleet aside, perhaps this person would be able to tell him where he would be most useful.
Slightly shorter than he was, but not by much, he mentally sized himself up to the woman. As she spoke, he nodded in greeting to her. "Hey, name's Alex. I'm the medic on the Diamond Dog... that freighter that decided to make a kinetic run a' the ground 'round a kilometer from here," he introduced himself. "Hed decided to wander off so thought ya might need a few hands here, medical or otherwise. I figure you might know where I'd be useful, Commander," he said, noting the Lieutenant Commander insignia on her collar.
"Ye one of the docs from that fancy ship up in orbit?" he asked. His appearance betrayed, if she knew the type, a bit about him, especially the lack of allegiance to Earth. The gait was an often telltale sign of people who spent too much time in space, or the lenses covering his eyes closely. Regardless, as he stood still he unconsciously positioned himself to seem more "normal" and hide the tells. "Doubt I have access to the same quality equipment y'all do, but I've got the same knowledge."

[Ens. Isaiah Quinn - LZ-1, Kerelia] Isaiah nodded in Lyric's direction as she thanked him.

Lyric returned a smile. "I've not been on any ship before this. They had me assigned mostly on Earth under some brilliant scientist instructors and learned a lot. Isaiah's eyes narrowed as he stared at his screen.

[Rylonis Trellgin, Transport Carrier Ark - Kerelia] Rylonis listened to what Isaiah and Lyric both had to say with great interest. " Not all plants actually need sunlight, if you'll remember, Earth has a number of flowers that only bloom at night," she points out. " I'm pretty sure I could find a few other planets in the database that has nightly flora and not just daytime flora," she explains with a whimsical tone as though she was starting to get lost in thought as she spoke. She was pulled back to reality by a gentleman speaking to Isaiah, she gave the man, Jett, an acknowledging smile as she focused on the Science at hand. " Should start by taking soil samples around where you think you saw the plant, could be something-" she was cut off by someone else stating they'd found animal excrement. She walked over, knelt down, and pulled out her Tricorder to begin taking readings and seeing what she got. She couldn't help but chuckle at Lyric's comment about why Poodoo's had their name after the creature decided to go on top of the other. " Much like a human dog, yes?" she asks curiously.

[Alex Hust - LZ1] Alex had made almost half a revolution around the staging area, observing and taking in much of the clearing before he was approached by a woman in teal-colored uniform which couldn't be mistaken for anything but Sciences or Medical of Fleet.
[ Thea - LZ1, Kerelia] As the man returned her greeting, Thea smiled, especially at the mention that he was the medic on the Diamond Dog, before explaining why he was here and how he had figured that she would know where he would be most useful. Even the use of her rank, did little to stop Thea, from wanting to continue talking to him. Besides it wasn't the first time that she had met a Freighter Medic, as she had come across several during her previous assignment on Epsilon, in fact he kind of reminder her of Silas, the medic of the Venus, a ship that was very similar to the Dog, who was both friend and occasional lover. Knowing that this wasn't the appropriate time to reminisce, Thea then responded to Alex. " Pleased to meet you Alex, it's always good to meet a fellow medic and ah yes the Diamond Dog, I've always had a soft spot for the Antares Class type of Freighter, you're welcome to assist us in setting up the medical prefabs and feel free to call me Thea".When he then asked if she was from the ship up in orbit, again he wasn't the first anti fleet person that she had encountered and doubted that he would be the last. That's why it was important to her to build friendships regardless of rank and opinions, to show that just because she was Fleet, didn't mean that she was a complete ogre as she respected people's views. Hoping to validate that and reassure him as he then told her that he had the same knowledge despite not having access to the equipment that the fleet had. " I am but in my experience, medical knowledge and having that expertise, is far more valuable and useful, than whether someone is fleet or not, I've worked with other freighter and non fleet medics before, some even are friends and I respect them a lot".

Doctor, then, she said, smiling at the woman's quip. There is always a risk of mayhem in a new environment, but this place is quite lovely. It's one of the more...wild places I've been myself. I've spent most of my career in engineering on one ship or another. The station is another new experience for me, she added wryly. The Mac is a new posting for me as well. I believe it was for the majority of us, to bring us to the station. The chief went quiet for a moment as she observed her people buzzing about the clearing. A movement in the foliage of a tree caught her eye, but when she focused on it, the movement stopped.
