[Blue Beta Bar- Fells Halgerdur] "Okay." Fells nodded at Lea but he did look more concerned than usually ...mostly because she was pregnant with his son and he didn't need her to go into early labor or something. He did not voice that concern but he certainly wondered if that was possible. Strange how being back, suddenly made him feel overprotective when he had let her fend for herself for so long, which he certainly wasn't proud of. Fells walked back down with Lea in tow. He waited until Ryah was done talking and Lea was there as well. When they had her attention, he briefly stated. "Whatever you do....bear in mind that my girl friend is VERY pregnant....I think someone had a look at her files...no idea what. We'd like her manager to take it from here, if that's alright."He looked at Lea for a moment to make sure that that's what she wanted, fully aware that he was behaving like a mother hen, and then stepped aside to let her handle the rest. [ Senior Chief Melihn Ryah - Blue Beta Bar] Ryah noted the return of the bar owner and her partner as Commander Eastman left with with the engineer and the intelligence officer. The couple's quick return didn't bode well, and indeed, her feeling was confirmed by Fells' words. I'll go have a look with one of the forensics officers. Ms. Mazal, if you need to remove yourself for the time being, please feel free to do so. I'll try to keep disturbances to a minimum. If you'll have the manager meet me in the office? Ryah asked before heading that direction. She paused to wave over one of the forensics team, then made her way to the office, pausing just inside the door to let her eyes roam freely and almost unfocused. It often helped her notice small inconsistencies in a scene. Thea BakerFells Halgerdur

[ Senior Chief Melihn Ryah - Blue Beta Bar] Ryah acknowledged Lea's question with a nod. Yes, have a look. If it seems like anything was disturbed, don't go in. Let me know and I'll check it out, she said, noting that Sosa and Aune had left and a forensics team was gathering up bits of evidence. Thank you for your help Mr. Halgerdur. Ms. Mazal, when you're able, get me a list of anything missing from the premises. As the couple moved away, Ryah turned her attention to the first officer, gesturing toward George Hugo. Excellent. Thank you for taking care of that, Commander and Lieutenant. Lieutenant Hugo, here, has some info.Right, Commander. So, that Falgerdur fellow has a good sense of what happened. Some sort of EM pulse was used to disable the security system. There might be intact security footage on this memory chip, but it's also quite possible the data was scrambled. It may be retrievable, with some effort. George held the chip out to Harmon. Thea Baker Fells Halgerdur Judith Eastman Matthew Harmon [Blue Beta Bar and Grill]
Took the memory chip from the Lieutenant and placed it in his pocket. "Right, thanks, I'll take a look. Hopefully we can get something from it," he said. He was confident they'd be able to retrieve something, the issue would be just how useful what they retrieve would be to the case, which seemed to be attracting an increasingly large amount of people aiding with the investigation. Once everything was sorted, he led Eastman and Hugo to his office. [Deck S4 - Intelligence Department Office - "The Wardrobe"]Harmon was not looking forward to returning to the office. It was a tiny, cramped, somewhat dilapidated room. On the bright side, perhaps the Commander would help out if she was forced to work in what they had been calling "The Wardrobe" after its size and status as a former uniform and prison outfit sores. Harmon had made an offhanded complaint about it being like working in a wardrobe and Ensign Hudson had latched onto that term and it stuck. "Welcome to our humble abode," he said as they entered, exposing the Commander to the office in all its glory. The room was made up of three components. The first was the largest, and had a number of cabinets used mostly for files, datapads, and of course, snacks. There was a small desk at the front with a computer where an Andorian was lazily sitting with his feet up on the desk, apparently asleep. Harmon walked up and kicked his chair, almost causing him to fall off. He ignored the mans grumbles and walked into the crapped room. It had a small table with four chairs crammed around it which seemed dusty. The table was covered in a few datapads and the a few mugs glasses. There was hardly enough room on the table for the three occupants of the office. The second component, behind a set of doors was even smaller. It was where most of their equipment and computers were located. The young Ensign Hudson was sat at one of those computers. The final component, Harmon's personal office (If you could call it that), was behind a set of doors which were for some unknown reason, manually opening doors which couldn't quite open the full way without hitting the tiny desk inside. Its roof was inexplicably low, forcing Harmon to duck when inside.
"We have guests, Hudson!" he called out. "Really?" a voice could be heard saying, "Who would want to come visit you?" she teased. A moment later she entered the front component, a shocked and embarrassed expression on her face as she noticed the First Officer was their "guest". She quickly snapped into attention and said "Sorry, ma'am didn't see you there. Ensign Hudson, ma'am" she introduced herself. Harmon laughed fairly quietly, but enough that it could be heard. "There's been a break in at the Blue Beta. Strangely advanced method, or so the grunts think. See if you can retrieve any footage," he said chucking the chip at her. "Of course I can, Harmon...I mean Lieutenant," she said sheepishly as she remembered the First Officer was present.

Thea Baker Fells Halgerdur [ Leanna& Seamus - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] Lea could tell that Fells' was more concerned following what she had said, as he agreed to them, letting Ryah know first, before they did anything else. Her stress and emotional levels were becoming more difficult to deal with, but she just had to continue to push through them, as she practically waddled the whole way back towards the main area of the bar. Listening to what Fells then said, made her look at him, wondering if she should be mad at him for the way he took control. But decided it wasn't worth it as he was right, Seamus could handle it and it gave her the opportunity to rest and catch up with what else was happening once her brain could handle it better. So she nodded in agreement, before Ryah reacted to the news and told them that she would check it out with one of the Security Officer's and that she was okay for Lea to remove herself for the time being. That was definitely a relief, appreciating that she would try to keep disturbances to a minimum and asked if she could have Seamus meet her at the office. " Thank you Chief, I appreciate it and sure I'll have him meet you" she replied, before Ryah left. The Bar Owner then spoke to Seamus, who was more than happy to take over, as she then looked at Fells. " Ready to go see our quarters?". she asked, as she prepared to leave the bar. With Lea leaving, Seamus then followed behind the Chief, as she made her way to the office. " Lea told me about taking over, is there anything you need me to check?".

When Lea asked to leave and check out their new home he agreed with a nod but before he turned away he told the manager. "Check the supplier files....looks like someone was interested in that section."
He then followed Lea out the door onto the promenade. Fells was glad to escape the vicinity of all this security personel, which certainly didn't make him feel comfortable right now.
Lea's walk was slow, so it was easy to catch up. "Do you need me to get you a lift?"

Glad that Sven wasn't going to bleed to death any time soon, Rio grabbed hold of the woman, then braced for transport, something she wasn't fond of -- the thought of having her ions scattered through air was disconcerting, even if it was 'safe'. And Sven was right, the report on 'Bright Light' Garrett was no surprise, and she had to wonder if she knew what Mercer was up to, was involved, or just an 'innocent' bystander. Then Sven asked her to take down Mercer's force field and she shook her head. "Really? That's so much paperwork, not to mention the clean-up." Sighing, she walked toward the panel. "Just promise you won't be so messy this time, all right?"

Harmon chuckled at Eastman's assurance that she was not, in fact a deity. The embarrassed Ensign Hudson relaxed a bit, "I'll go start work on this now..." she said looking between Harmon and the XO, "Unless you need me for anything else?" Harmon shook his head at her, deciding to let her be for now. She'd been embarrassed enough for now. With that, she returned out of sight to her computer to start work on retrieving it. "What do we know about this EM pulse?" he asked the engineer, figuring the two of them could work on that. George's technical expertise would likely come in handy and compliment Harmon's more investigative skills. "If we can figure out what sort of device was used specifically, that could tell us a lot. If its a specific known device we can track down possible suppliers. If it appears homemade that could inform us in our search. Is it some toy some nerd has tinkered with in his backyard and used to impress his friends? Or is it a well made weapon by someone with resources and expertise, indicative of perhaps a well supplied criminal organisation?" Harmon was aware that these types of weapons were often distinctive, if you know where to look. Hopefully they figure out what sort of device would be used from the limited evidence they had.

The forensic officer began running scans and picking up small bits of things that might or might not have been relevant. There was an air of not-rightness in the office, as if things were just slightly off. A couple of drawers were slightly ajar, chairs askew. Things that could have been no big deal, but looked more sinister in light of the break-in.
[ Imahl Shahal - Promenade] The owner of Imahl's Toys and Trinkets had been waiting to catch the proprietor of the Blue Beta Bar & Grill, and when he saw her, finally, leaving her bar alone, Imahl apologized to the mother and child he'd been speaking to and hurried to catch the very pregnant Betazoid. Before the Bajoran could fall into step beside Lea, another man joined her and seemed to be extremely solicitous of the woman. Imahl hesitated for a moment, but braced himself and joined the couple as they walked slowly down the promenade. Excuse me, Ms. Mazal. I'm sorry to bother you, but I wondered if I could speak to you for a few moments. I don't think we've ever spoken before. I'm Imahl Shahal. I own the toy shop over there. [Blue Beta Bar- to home- Fells] "Thank you, we appreciate it." Fells answered Ryah because he knew she could request Lea to stay but agreed that Seamus took over. When Lea asked to leave and check out their new home he agreed with a nod but before he turned away he told the manager. "Check the supplier files....looks like someone was interested in that section."He then followed Lea out the door onto the promenade. Fells was glad to escape the vicinity of all this security personel, which certainly didn't make him feel comfortable right now. Lea's walk was slow, so it was easy to catch up. "Do you need me to get you a lift?"[ Senior Chief Melihn Ryah - Blue Beta Bar] Ryah turned when the bar manager approached and nodded a greeting. Seamus, was it? Just note anything that appears to be out of place. Mr. Halgerdur indicated a couple of issues. With the manager there, Ryah proceeded into the office and started looking around carefully, keeping her hands clasped behind her back. Thea Baker Fells Halgerdur [ Seamus - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] " That's correct yes and no problem, Fells told me what those issues may be" The Irishman replied politely in response to both the Chief's greeting and what she wanted him to do. Following her into the office, Seamus stopped for a moment, trying to comprehend why someone would want to ransack the office and wondered if their suppliers details were really that valuable. In some ways, he was glad that Lea & Fells had gotten him to take over, as he could only imagine, what this would do to his very pregnant friend, especially after seeing the state of the bar. As the forensics officer got to work, Seamus focused on the drawers that were slightly ajar, realising that Fells was right in his assessment as that was were Lea kept all of the supplier information. " Chief, the open drawers, seem to confirm what Fells thought, as that's were Lea kept our supplier details, they've obviously broken the access locks somehow to get whatever they were after".********** [ Leanna - Promenade] Once Fells caught up to her, Lea was glad that he had, especially with how achy she was feeling right now and appreciated his offer of getting her a lift. Although at the same time, she was determined to walk of her volition and not have anyone think she was an invalid, just because she was a little slower than normal. Then again, maybe she was allowed to admit defeat, without having to justify herself. However before she could answer him, they were approached by a male Bajoran, who apologised for bothering them and asked if he could speak to her, before introducing himself. Being polite, especially with him being a fellow business owner, who clearly knew who she was, Lea smiled politely as she stole a glance towards the toy store. " Pleased to meet you Mr Shahal and you're right, I don't think we have and sure we can talk" she replied, then turned to Fells. " I'll catch you up Babe, if you want to head to the lift and I'll meet you on Deck 15".

[Blue Beta Bar and Grill]
Tag: Judith Eastman Ozu Saya [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Blue Beta Bar & Grill]Judy maintained a relaxed posture as she listened intently. It seemed, judging by what she was hearing, that this was a rather sophisticated breed of crook. "Well, best of luck to us," she quipped as Harmon led them to the Intelligence offices. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Intelligence Office]Judy took in the space, and wrinkled her nose for a moment, before forcing composure back upon herself. This place was going to be too crowded for them all, and frankly it was disgracefully cramped even for those in it. "At ease, Ensign," she acknowledged Hudson. "Commander Judy Eastman, First Officer, and, contrary to popular belief, not a deity."She continued to evaluate the space, contemplating both short- and long-term measures. "I believe we have two avenues to pursue," she directed, standing over the table. "The first will be the chip, and whatever secrets we can extract from it. The second will be the EM Pulse - the key parts of whatever delivered it may lend themselves to being tracked down."She set down her handbag on a chair, then approached a replicator to produce back, neck, and hip supports using her specs (loaded into the station database). She promptly displaced the handbag, outfitted the cushions, and took the seat. "Even by Starfleet standards, this chair is awful," she kvetched. "I'll need to look into getting new furniture for you folks."She retrieved her computer glasses - rectangular lenses in thick, grey frames - from her handbag, and put them on, as she eyed the subordinates present for their thoughts.
Tag Ozu Saya Matthew Harmon [ Lt. George Hugo - Blue Beta Bar --> Intelligence Office] George followed the commander and intelligence officer, massive frame towering over them both. When the lieutenant led them into the office space, the engineer's expression went from mild interest in checking out the footage on the memory chip to horror at the cramped quarters. He sat gingerly in one of the chairs at the table, raising an amused brow as Commander Eastman replicated several ergonomic cushions for her chair. George cleared his throat uncomfortably as he tried to stretch his legs under the table. I can probably help with some of that. Just point me in the right direction. Or a direction and I'll bungle around until I fall into something useful, he rumbled in a rare moment of humor. Judith Eastman Matthew Harmon [ Lt.
Tag: Judith Eastman Ozu Saya [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Intelligence Offices]Judy variously adjusted her glasses, looking through or over them at different moments as she listened. She contemplated their investigative routes. "The footage could help us find out more about the device, but for now we can try some deductive reasoning," she suggested, holding the glasses by their corner in her left hand and making gentle, almost circular motions. "A homemade EM gun would likely be... sloppy. It could fry things it's not supposed to, and it could cause small electrical fires. Considering the neighbors' security systems seemed fine, and we didn't see signs of fire, I'd say this device was built by someone who knew what they were doing."Judy held the arm of her glasses to her lips as she thought further. "As much as it pains me, I think we need more manpower on this. You two, Lieutenants, can track down through our cargo manifests, or any holes in our cargo manifest archives, when and where professional-grade EMP parts were brought on my station, and I'd like to get someone else to support Ms. Hudson," she directed. "Mr. Hugo, we had a new computer specialist transfer in recently, didn't we?"Putting on the glasses once again, Judy grabbed a PADD and began to draw up their manifest archives.

[Promenade- Fells Halgerdur]
He heard the other business owner with the strong accent before he turned to see him. But the man certainly caught his interest. Why did he want to speak to Lea and why did she not ask to postpone the talk? Fells didn't want to go ahead but Leas words told him that she wanted to speak to the man alone.
Hesitating he eyed him with a bit of suspicion, which was a newly acquired character trait. Then he gave Lea a concerned look. "If you wish....just don't be too long. I'll wait at the turbolift." Once again he looked at the Bajoran and then left.
Walking free among other people was something he wasn't used to anymore. It felt strange but soon his frown changed to friendlier nods when someone passed him.
Once he reached the turbolifts he decided to wait.

[NPC - Unknown - Promenade, outside the Turbolifts]At the turboshafts, outside of earshot from Leanna, Fells was approached by a short, hooded figure. Other than the dark cloak this figure was, it didn't stick out among the much-taller individuals around. But this figure had a plan. "Fells Halgerdur," the figure spoke quietly, in a voice that was a little high but probably male. "They say you got off easy."With arms extended, the figure was clearly not armed, but nevertheless not going to let up easily.

Once again he heard the person before he saw him because he approached from behind. The figure was smaller than Fells and not very intimidating. His words, however, were. On top of that Fells had learned to be careful during his time in the colony because you never knew where an attack was coming from. The figure seemed unarmed so Fells only raised his hand to stop him. "Stay right there....who are you?"Noone here really knew him yet because he had just gotten off the ship. "I'm not the guy you're looking for. Hal...whatever..." A little denial couldn't hurt.

| Deck 15, Section 112, Mercer's quarters -> S2 Main Brig, detention Cell 3 & 4 | | lt. Sven Aune | Arnold Mercer | Hildi Garrett | Computer |The sound of ripping clothes filled the air as Sven tore off a piece of his uniform - the section that got slashed- using his teeth and the uninjured hand he cinched the cloth around the wound for a makeshift bandage. "I think I got it ensign. Though if this doesn't hold I may take you up on that offer." He retrieved the knife and stood Mercer on his feet and half frog marched, half dragged him out of the quarters. He waited for Rio to walk the unnamed woman out before issuing a command to the computer. "Computer, security lock-down Arnold Mercer's quarters." "Are you okay, Rio?" he asked making sure the ensign wasn't too rattled before requesting transport to the Security Node. Moments later Sven felt the odd sensation of being taken apart bit by bit and reconstructed in a swirl of blue light. Mercer re-materialized in detention cell 3 while the woman was sent to 4. Rio and Sven, thankfully, due to the diligence of the transporter chief were on the outside! "Computer run a facial recognition on Jane Doe in cell 4." "Hildi Garrett." it came back with, "Age 32. Weight, 69 kilograms. Height, 159 centimeters." "Criminal record?""Hildi Garrett has 4 entries of criminal misdemeanors. Including larceny, possession of controlled substances. Sale of controlled substances and assault and battery."Sven nodded. He looked to Rio. "Well, that's interesting." it really wasn't. He was being sarcastic. He walked over to Cell 3 and tapped on the force field. It buzzed and fizzled. "What about you? What's your connection to the break in at the Blue Beta Bar and Grill?""Nothin'.""I don't believe that" Sven said cracking his knuckles. It seemed that Mercer was inexperienced in the realm of crime. "Rio, would you mind turning off the security feed?" he said to her, playing the bad cop. Of course he didn't really want her to do that. Everything would be recorded. He hoped she would pick up on the act and play along. Mercer's eyes popped up and a flash of panic ran across his face before he tried to compose it.

Mercer lost all of his composure and a look of terror spread across his face. "Okay, okay. I'll talk. But not to you." he pointed a finger at the bodybuilder. "I'll talk to her." he pointed to Rio. Sven had done his job and intimidation worked. A bit too well. Mercer felt more comfortable talking with Rio. Hildi scoffed from the other cell "Oh, you're a brave one ain't 'cha?" she laughed and leaned against the threshold careful not to touch force field. Sven shrugged. "You're up. But do be gentile." he said to Rio, then turned and tapped his head looking at and addressing Mercer, "the last person she interrogated... Well, he went a bit funny in the head. Was never the same after the good ensign was done with him." he walked around the security station, pulled out a chair then put his feet up on the console. Rio Sosa

"Who I am is irrelevant," he replied. "Who you are is everything. We know who you are, and we know what you did, but your neighbors don't. Don't you think it's better for you this way? Hyoo-mons are quick to judge and slow to move on."The figure had no need of a gun, and he was hinting now as to why. He had the organization, and the intent, or whoever sent him did, that could tip others off about Fells' background. Certainly, the association to a traitor wouldn't make the Halgerdur-Mazal group popular with neighbors, and the business with customers.
