Judy sighed gently at the evident communication mishap, all too used to the sloppy way manifests and logs were often managed. It was lamentable, but a reality. "I'm not sure what's waiting for us, but some changes to the whole administrative organ are waiting for them," she told Felicity, quiet enough not to be obtrusive but loud enough to be heard. [Bridge] Saya entered the bridge a short time Preview later and headed for Judy, standing at ease beside the older woman's chair. Judy, she greeted, then, Captain. It was with a smile that Judy looked up from her XO chair at her old friend. She'd come to miss seeing Saya in a professional setting, finding the young engineer to be of truly unparalleled talents. Mabel, meanwhile, scooted aside, trying to find a sensible place to stand. [ Front Ear Station - CO's Quarters - Commander Priscilla Parsinp] Commander Priscilla Parsinp was having a bad day. Not only was this crew full of younguns coming to take over her station as the admiralty was forcing her into retirement, but she couldn't find Harvey. Since Harvey lived in a pot, there was no way he could have wandered off, so someone must have taken him from her quarters. She'd have to ask someone about that. Mental note, she thought, and promptly forgot it. =/\= Ah, Commander? Sorry to bother you, but the USS Mac has arrived. The captain sounds kind of, ah, unhappy.Uppity youngin', Parsinp groused. Tell the captain I'll be meeting her when they dock.Aye, Commander. =/\= Parsinp stumped down to the landing pad 1 jetway, straightening her smudged uniform (no dress uniform for usurpers), her flyaway hair floating about her head as she moved her stocky body into an exaggerated attention stance to wait. [ Front Ear Station - Communications Center] =/\= Ah, Front Ear to Mac, you're cleared to dock. The commander is going to meet you. =/\= She looked again at the Ops officer on the screen, her grey eyes betraying her silent disdain at the organizational shoddiness. =A= "On which approach path? And which docking location?" =A= she asked, her voice scarcely above a whisper. She wasn't happy, but she wasn't going to yell - that was reserved for her children. "Helm, once we're assigned an approach path, bring us in," she ordered. Then, she turned to her side, where Mabel (and Saya) were. "I'm going to need my schedule cleared from about 7PM onwards for a screaming match with Anna," she instructed Mabel, a half-smile on her face. If this was the trend, the XO quarters were likely not fully ready to her (or her daughter's) level, and the scapegoat was obvious - herself. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD, & Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Bridge, USS Mac]Judy sighed gently at the evident communication mishap, all too used to the sloppy way manifests and logs were often managed. It was lamentable, but a reality. "I'm not sure what's waiting for us, but some changes to the whole administrative organ are waiting for them," she told Felicity, quiet enough not to be obtrusive but loud enough to be heard. [Bridge] Saya entered the bridge a short time later and headed for Judy, standing at ease beside the older woman's chair. Judy, she greeted, then, Captain. [Felicity Ellis - Bridge, USS Mac]One corner of Felicity's mouth curled upward a little at Judy's response. "They're going to love us." It was said with a manner of cheek, though she was obviously aware of just how necessary it might be for them to clean house. They weren't there to make friends, they were there to make a difference. At Saya's approach and greeting, Felicity offered a nod. "Chief. Welcome to the party."=/\= Ah, Front Ear to Mac, you're cleared to dock. The commander is going to meet you. =/\= While the First Officer pressed for the relevant questions and directed the helm, Felicity sat back in her chair and tapped at the panel next to its arm. Moments later the view-screen displayed a live feed of Front Ear station, looming larger as they closed in. When the Flight officer on duty confirmed receipt of docking details Felicity sucked in a breath and addressed the ship. =/\= "All hands this is Captain Ellis. We are on final approach to the station and will be docking momentarily. At this stage you should have all received your living assignments and schedules. Unless you have been ordered otherwise, take the opportunity to get settled in and familiarise yourselves with our new base of operations." She paused for a moment and suppressed a groan. But she said it. "And welcome to Front Ear." =/\= Cringe. [USS Mac - Bridge - MCPO Ozu Saya] Saya listened to the conversation with the station with her eyebrows slowly climbing her forehead. This will certainly be one of the most interesting places I've ever been posted, Saya said wryly. Let's hope the whole station isn't in as bad a shape as the operations center seems to be. We are going to have our hands full getting things in order.Saya was looking forward to the challenge, though she was absolutely going to have to corral her tendencies of spending all of her time in engineering. It had been an issue before she'd met Kyo, and despite several years of marriage and now a child, she still sometimes struggled with wanting to work on just one more project or check over the day's work just one more time. Yes, this station, Front Ear was going to be quite a challenge for her. Captain, if you have no objections, I'd like to be excused immediately after the formalities are observed to help my mate get our quarters situated. I do intend to get a brief overview of engineering before the end of the day.

[Aft Lounge - USS Mac] Chris adjusted his green visor as he looked over the cards in his hand, not that it would do any good. "Better make it four! Actually...." he said, trailing off for a moment "Um... what was I saying?" he asked, squinting as he tried to remember what exactly he was trying to say before giving up "We... we haven't been drinking that long! Impossible! I think our blue friend is having one over on us, Cara!" he laughed, leaning back in the chair to nearly the point of tipping as Flaisl walked away to prepare the drinks. He tried to do the mental calculations but even the simple subtraction of time was more then he could do at the moment. Last thing he remembered clearly was Cara inviting him to a card game but that was 6? 9? 15 hours ago? Just days ago he was posted as a SCOE Engineer and today he was an explorer, though he was only exploring the limits of his liver at the moment. It would take more than a few hours of drink to knock him down and beat him at... at, um... whatever game they were playing. "Oh, I have... no... wait, thats a 9..." he said, waggling his finger at Cara "Wait... weren't we playing 5-Card Stud?"[Aft Lounge, Deck 10 - USS Mac] Caroline squinted at Chris through her dark glasses. When had they changed games again...? Oh, right. Because he was an idiot. "We stopped because you kept making up weird rules and saying 'Jokers Wild' while giggling. This deck doesn't even have any jokers. Gimme your 9 then."She held her free hand out for the card, when another thought occurred to her. "What happened to the names? I thought we were using the names, Chris-to-ferrr?"A scowl crossed her countenance. What was the point of brilliant fake identities if you didn't use them? She looked back over her shoulder to see where the waitress was with their drinks. [Lieutenant Niamh O'Leary - Aft Lounge, Deck 10, USS Mac]She walked into the aft lounge, dressed in her casual civvies. She wore a pair of stonewashed jeans, old and tattered sneakers, and a t-shirt that had 'MY OTHER SHIP IS THE MILLENNIUM FALCON' emblazoned across the chest. She located Riordan and McIntyre almost immediately, as they were unsurprisingly involved in some kind of altercation with an Andorian lounge girl. "Here, lads," she greeted, frowning at them and then at the hovering Flaisl, "Did ye not hear? We've arrived at the arsehole of nowhere." Caroline grinned at the woman, not too put off by the frown or the sour words. "Nice turn of phrase that. But you know what you can always find in the middle of nowhere? A bar. Cause there ain't heck all to do but drink. And this much nowhere? Lotsa bars."She nodded sagely, whilst re-arranging her cards yet again. They really weren't in any particular order, but she liked doing something with her hands. It was good they'd arrived, even if it was out in the boondocks. She had energy to burn. "Surprised you've let one of the minions have a go at handling your baby, Lieutenant. Join us, we'll get you a drink ordered up. You can watch me own what's left of Chris' dignity after he loses again." It was an evil giggle then that escaped her, cut short by Flaisl coming over to set their drinks down with a thunk. She wasn't a great waitress by any means, which was probably why she was always scheduled for the early shift. "Will there be anything else?" She asked icily, but considering she was Andorian, that might have just been her normal tone.

"Chief. Welcome to the party."While the First Officer pressed for the relevant questions and directed the helm, Felicity sat back in her chair and tapped at the panel next to its arm. [ Thea - Bridge] After finishing in Sickbay and with a quick trip to her quarters to ensure that everything was in order and tagged for transport to her new abode on the Station, Thea decided that a trip to the Bridge was in order. Not that she had really had the chance to do so, since her initial reporting in to Captain Ellis and Commander Eastman. However, considering that docking was imminent, it was the right thing to do. So with that in mind, the Redhead, pulled down her tunic as the doors to the Bridge opened, stepping out as Captain Ellis, made a ship wide call and smiled at the mention of the station. It was an interesting typo and one, that would either make you giggle or groan, whenever you had to say it. Still being professional and taking in the impressive details of the Bridge, Thea walked with purpose and grace, towards the senior officer's gathered. " Captain, Commander, Chief, I thought it would be appropriate for me to be here as we prepare to dock".Hopefully she wouldn't come off as sounding like an excited schoolgirl, but in her mind, she was being typical Thea. [ Front Ear Station - Communications Center] =/\= Oh, ah, right. One second, please. The comms went silent for a moment except for a murmur, then the voice returned. Yes, you'll be docking on landing pad C, and, ah, welcome to the station. =/\= [Sovaan - Bridge, USS Mac]Sovaan had managed to keep quiet and composed - even when the Captain had to announce the name of the station. He considered that a testament to his will to have not even twitched or let out a groan of disdain; he'd take what he could get when this was their situation. Even so, he found himself a bit perplexed at how ill-prepared the station seemed to be for their arrival. Then again, maybe that was part of the reason they were there. He gave a nod upon hearing Commander Eastman, not far behind him. "Acknowledged, Commander." There was something very matter-of-fact in his tone; he was far more focused on the actual art he was performing. Even keeping still, the Sovereign-Class had a sort of straightforward grace that he enjoyed; the Mac was no different, even while sporting an odd name of its own. In truth, he was looking forward to seeing what the station was like from the inside, and perhaps getting the time to properly know his crewmates. Watching the conn, he saw that their destination and how to get there had finally arrived. "Approach path received; bringing us in, now." Now, came his favourite part, even if it was short. The helmsman began to direct the Mac towards Landing Pad C, focusing almost entirely on smoothly moving it through the void and to the Front Ear. Sovaan almost looked like he was in a trance with how much he took careful interest in it, though his ears stayed perked up, ready for any change in orders he might get. He wouldn't have been too surprised to find a Landing Pad already occupied. Captain, if you have no objections, I'd like to be excused immediately after the formalities are observed to help my mate get our quarters situated. I do intend to get a brief overview of engineering before the end of the day. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD]In good time, things seemed to finally be coming together. Judy didn't need to issue a further order as their assignment was transmitted and their helmsman got to work, so she just smiled with approval, her cheeks pushing her bifocals slightly up. She turned her head slightly, but still smiled, as the CMO and Second Officer made her presence known. "At ease, Doctor," the older woman offered, in light of the youngster's very proper manner. "Soon enough, we'll all be saluting you."With her Lieutenant Commander's pips and Medical degree both attained before the age of 30, Thea Baker was definitely very impressive. Perhaps some of it was owed to the desperate postwar Starfleet environment - promising young talent was rapidly promoted, and aging officers like Judy herself were kept well past their nominal retirement ages - but Judy's brief assessment had been that this young woman had earned her place. At this point, the First Officer cast her eyes towards the flight control officer. "Good work, Lieutenant; keep it up," she commended him gently. Her own stomach, which had not once betrayed her on days when she forgot her meds, was a fine judge of piloting smoothness. The final matter to respond to was Saya's request. Judy herself was going to have a similar problem. She turned her head towards Felicity, and leaned slightly in the direction of the younger woman. "The Chief isn't the only one with that problem; my daughter's old enough to help with the moving, even against her will, but I think I'm alone in that luxury. Since they weren't expecting us today at all, we can try to finagle a few hours for most, at least, of the crew to settle in and explore."Then, a small smile crossed her face as she turned back to Saya. "That said, young lady, I fully expect you to accompany me to main engineering for my tour."

"Make yourself at home, Commander," she told the other woman. As Sovaan expertly guided the Mac into dock, Felicity felt pleased that their crew appeared not only earnest, like Thea Baker, but also disciplined and prepared, much like their helm officer. They may have only been together a short time, but the foundation felt strong, and built on a sense of professionalism. Judy was likely right; Front Ear might require some rebuilding of its own. Despite the shaky start, Felicity could not help but feel a flicker of excitement. It was the same whenever she encountered something, or somewhere new. The potential was massive, the next hour, let alone day, totally unknown. Saya's question drew her attention from the viewscreen, now filled with an image of the Sigma-class outpost. "Of course, Chief, take all the time you need."When Judy leaned in closer and suggested the short break to acclimatize with their respective families, Felicity's smile was quick, though there was a tightness around her eyes. The harsh reality of the situation was that she'd left behind the only person she would have ever considered "settling in" with. She'd tried to distract herself from the constant awareness that she was missing him by throwing herself into work, and for the most part, it had worked. Her lack of attachment elsewhere was likely one of the reasons why she was Captain, but every now and then the reminder of what she'd given up smacked her in the face. That didn't mean that the First Officer's suggestion wasn't a good, or appropriate one, however. "Divide and conquer," she began softly, low enough for only those beside her on the Bridge to hear, "All of you, take some time to settle in, get the lay of the land. We can reconvene later tonight and share our observations." Blue eyes flickered from those gathered, back toward the screen. "Should be an interesting day."*** [Landing Pad C, Front Ear Station]Felicity emerged, late, from the Mac, and onto Landing Pad C. She looked around, searching for the incumbent Commander, and seeing nobody to greet them but engineers and deck-hands milling around rather like headless chickens.

[Bridge – S.S. Falcon]
Tom waited for a couple of minutes to hear from the control. It was unsual for Starfleet to forget about Space Traffic Control since it could lead to accidents. However, it could also be explained that they were in the middle of nowhere, and it was likely that only a deep space exploration mission visited the place. In short, he guessed by the location of the Station that it does not get many visitors.
With little effort, Tom pressed the controls in the Captain’s seat and opened another message =/\= Front Ear, this is S.S. Falcon requesting docking procedures. . The man waited for a second; he did not want to be impatient, but he knew that a ship should not be in docking procedures for a prolong period. The problem is that the more time he spends out there the more, he would be a danger for other ships. Within minutes he received his orders.
=/\= S.S. Falcon, this is Front Ear you are cleared to land on Landing Bay C =/\=
Tom nodded and answered back =/\= Understood =/\= . He turned off the channel as he focused on getting near the Station’s tractor beams. As following Starfleet Protocols, the Tractor Beams took control of the ship Jett was followed protocol and let the computer and the Station do some of the flying. As it took control of the ship for him, it began turning around the corner. Everything was going perfectly until...
As he turned the corner, he spotted a Sovereign Class vessel and the tractor beam was letting this ship on a collision course. The collision alarms began sounding as Tom quickly left the Captain’s chair into the pilot’s seat. =/\= “Front Ear, this is the Falcon taking manual control to avoid collision” =/\=.
As he disengaged, the safety protocols began flying the ship manually. Tom took control and began approaching the Soverign class if there was a collision, he would be on the losing end. “Crap, this is going to be as close as throwing a beer bottle in Starfleet Command and not hitting someone important”. The former officer said to himself as he disobeyed Starfleet Protocols and engaged thrusters near the Station. With a quick movement, he was able to do a quick roll as he was able to fly over the bridge of the Sovereign class. If they were able to look up it was close enough that the top window on the bridge was able to see the other top window of the bridge. He did not look as he was busy trying to avoid the collision.
“Who bright idea was it to send TWO ships on the same Landing Bay?” The Former Officer said to himself. As he figured that it was close enough that the Sovereign ship would also have a collision alert. As he finished he took a deep breath as he looked at the first available landing bay to land manually. As he arrived he wanted to know who was the Captain of the Sovereign and the Station to give them a piece of his mind.
He he powered down the ship. He began walking near the attached Airlock. Within minutes he was off the ship. Incensed to find out who was the CO of that ship and why it was on his right of way.

[ Thea - Bridge, USS Mac] For a moment, Thea felt like a right idiot at how she had come over so enthusiastically, when Commander Eastman Williams, acknowledged her first. Although immediately relaxed where she was stood, managing to smile at the comment that the XO then made. " I never thought of it like that, but thank you" she replied softly, before Captain Ellis, also acknowledged her. " Thank you, Captain".Despite her initial response to being on the Bridge, the CMO appreciated, how warm the responses had been to her presence, even if she had been a little more full on, then she would normally be. Although given that they were now in the final stages of docking, Thea was going to make the most of this short opportunity, as the CO agreed to what the XO had suggested, following the conversation that had begun and looked forward to seeing the base, getting settled, then going from there. Her focus now on the approach, as they came to a stop at the designated landing pad and knew that she was home. Once dismissed, she would follow the others and make her way to the Station, for the usual formalities and in full agreement with the Captain's suggestion and following assessment, that it would be an interesting day. " Acknowledged and agreed".
******** [ Leanna & Brooke - Landing Pad C, after docking] Once the signal had been given, that it was now safe to disembark and leave the sanctuary of the Mac, so they could finally see what Front Ear had in store for them. Of course both women, would of loved their significant others to be with them, to enjoy this moment. However following their close conversations, each could draw strength from one another to get through it and at least they weren't completely on their own. Ariana was still being well behaved, mesmerised by what she was seeing as she held onto Brooke's hand, the other firmly grasped around her Targ, the Unicorn now in backpack, that also contained, her colouring books and pencils. The Trio continued on their way, towards the security checkpoint, then it was agreed, that they would help each other find their respective new homes and then check the station properly.

"Should be an interesting day." [Sovaan - Bridge, USS Mac]
Though it was subtle, Sovaan gave a quick nod in acknowledgement upon hearing the Commander's compliment - it was nice to have his work commended, and it reassured him that he was still doing everything right for now. He couldn't give much of a reply, even if he would have liked to. He had to keep his focus while directing just over three billion metric tons to land as carefully as he could, even for how agile the Mac was for its size, like any of the other Sovereign-class ships.
The conn began to blare off some high-pitched noises, and Sovaan glanced down at the console before speaking aloud. "There's another vessel crossing our approach vector - I'm taking manual control to avoid a collision." The way he said it was very matter-of-fact as he adjusted settings and began to pull the Mac back, and lower it slightly, allowing this other, smaller vessel to pass over them. The Falcon zipped by the viewscreen as it came very close to shearing itself apart on the Federation ship's surface.
Sovaan was just glad that the smaller ship had a skilled pilot, or this mishap could have ended poorly. "Resuming the docking sequence now." Once more, he continued to direct from the conn, settling the Mac down comfortably at Landing Pad C. With the enjoyable, yet important part of his work over, Sovaan settled back into his chair and allowed his body to actually relax for a moment, wondering how much more work he'd have to get done on the station.
***
[Landing Pad C, Front Ear Station]
Sovaan straighted his uniform and made sure he gave the impression of a professional, at least as best he could. The Orion kept his hands clasped behind his back as he stepped off the Mac, glancing around the landing pad with a bit more confusion than anything else, even if he tried not to let it show. Everything seemed in bad shape, from a command standpoint; the personnel he saw rushing around didn't do so with a purpose, almost seeming like they didn't know why there were there.
He glanced about, not looking just for where their greeting was supposed to be, but where anyone from that other ship was; he had taken careful steps to avoid landing too close to where it had, but he wondered what mix-up had gotten them assigned to the same pad at the same time.

[Npc Brody Cooper USS MAC-mess hall] Brody had been watching a young couple, who was seated close by, for a while. Their son was cute and occassionally made eye contact. As cute as he was, he was glad that he was travelling without children. "We'll be there soon." He only said to the kid. [Rio Sosa, USS Mac -- mess hall] The mess hall was pretty busy, so Rio was wandering amid the table, carrying a tray laden with pizza and a strawberry shake, looking for a place to sit. And, she figured, this was a good opportunity to get to know someone she hadn't had a chance to meet yet, and there were plenty of those available. Then she heard the young man try to reassure a fidgety kid and she decided that he seemed like a decent person and someone who would be interesting to talk to while she chowed down. "Excuse me, is this seat taken?" She smiled, but was ready to move on if need be.

[USS MAC -mess hall NPC Brody Cooper]
There were only a few bites left of his 'cake'. For some reason the replicated make believe earth treat didn't appeal to him very much so he kept turning the plate but didn't really have a bite.A woman's voice got his attention when she asked whether the seat opposite of him was taken. Brody turned his head to see a lady, most likely human, with a full tray in here hands."No, it's not. It's all yours." He motioned to the empty seat. The place was packed so she probably had been looking for a while.
As she sat down he tried to be polite and briefly said. "Enjoy your meal. Hopefully it's better than mine. You might have to eat fast. We're landing but you know docking and getting everyone off takes a while."
The kid started doing circles around their table but his mother was soo reigning him in. The flight had been too long and Brody couldn't wait to set foot on the station. He wanted to get started there, find a place, get his new assignement....
Brody studied her for a second or two. She was probably the same age as him but her skin was much darker and a winning smile graced her lips.
"Are you one of the people moving to the station? Or just stopping by."

"That said, young lady, I fully expect you to accompany me to main engineering for my tour." [Felicity Ellis - Bridge, USS Mac]Felicity grinned at their enthusiastic new Chief Medical Officer. [USS Mac - Bridge - Ozu Saya] Saya answered her friend, Of course, Judy. I wouldn't tour the facility without you.
I'd never hear the end of it, she murmured under her breath with a cheeky smile. It had taken many years, and many privately-shed tears, for her to become comfortable enough to smile or laugh around people other than Kyo and Judy. It was still a fairly rare occurrence, but she was feeling energized by their arrival at the station. Saya turned her attention to Felicity as the ship slowly docked to say, Thank you, Captain. Judy, I'll see you shortly. Let me know when you're ready for the tour. She left the bridge to head back to her family.

"No, it's not. It's all yours." He motioned to the empty seat. The place was packed so she probably had been looking for a while.
"Thanks, appreciate it," Rio commented as she sat, then added with a wry grin, "Besides, I was going to sit here anyway!" Well, she likely would have moved on if he'd been rude, but then maybe not! As she sat down he tried to be polite and briefly said. "Enjoy your meal. Hopefully it's better than mine. You might have to eat fast. We're landing but you know docking and getting everyone off takes a while."
"I'm kind of with that kid," she replied, "be happy to be off the ship, at least for a while." While she didn't mind being on a ship, particularly when it was going somewhere, once it got there she was more than happy to get out and do some exploring.
The kid started doing circles around their table but his mother was soo reigning him in. The flight had been too long and Brody couldn't wait to set foot on the station. He wanted to get started there, find a place, get his new assignement....

"Are you one of the people moving to the station? Or just stopping by."
"I go where they send me." She shrugged, then took a bite of pizza, her nose wrinkling up in distaste. "Anywhere that has good pizza! I'm Rio Sosa, Security, but don't hold that against me! Are you going to be on the station, too?"

We can reconvene later tonight and share our observations." Blue eyes flickered from those gathered, back toward the screen. "Should be an interesting day." [ Thea - Bridge, USS Mac] For a moment, Thea felt like a right idiot at how she had come over so enthusiastically, when Commander Eastman Williams, acknowledged her first. " Acknowledged and agreed".[Sovaan - Bridge, USS Mac]
Though it was subtle, Sovaan gave a quick nod in acknowledgement upon hearing the Commander's compliment - it was nice to have his work commended, and it reassured him that he was still doing everything right for now. Judy, I'll see you shortly. Let me know when you're ready for the tour. She left the bridge to head back to her family. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD & Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Bridge, USS Mac]Judy gasped when they were almost hit by a small civilian ship. Then, after a few deep breaths, she returned to her calm state. Unzipping her uniform jacket about a third of the way, she reached into an inner pocket to retrieve a small, black notebook and an old-school pen. Propping it up on the more sophisticated console, she wrote a few lines in hasty, smudged handwriting, and then returned the items to her pocket. Mabel, by now used to this habit, could make out the phrases "traffic control" and "ship flow", leading her to deduce that the little sentences, little more than scribbles, had to do with what had just happened. Notebook tucked away, and the Mac slowly coming to dock, Judy turned to those around her. "I'll touch base with you once I figure out my situation. Mabel, you can take as much time as you need," she offered. Then, using both hands for support, she stood up out of the chair. ***
[NPCs - Max Williams & Anna Eastman Williams - First Officer's quarters, USS Mac]The sight of the small ship passing by, and the sudden movement of their own vessel, drew the attention of the First Officer's husband and daughter, engaged as they were in loading their bags onto a hover-trolley. "What was that?" Anna asked, after dodging a suitcase that came off the trolley. "I don't know. Maybe your mother does," Max answered, as he lifted it back up. This left Anna to load more, smaller bags. "This doesn't happen on Earth," Anna complained. "Why did we have to leave?""Where's the Anna who was so excited about exploring the unknown and being the queen of a starbase?" Max asked rhetorically, ruffling his daughter's blonde hair - very similar in its color to her mother's dyed locks. "I know it's not easy for you sometimes, but you know you're going to love it. You're going to do great in your classes, make lots of interesting friends...""Give my poor old mother another heart attack?" Anna cut in, imitating Judy, as she stretched to fasten straps over the tall stack of luggage. "I believe in you."***
[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) PhD, Max Williams & Anna Eastman Williams - Landing Pad C]Judy disembarked through the airlock with her family and two corgis, Bridge and Tunnel. Each of the women took a corgi and a handbag, while Max was all but obscured by the heavily ladened hover-trolley. As they often did, Judy and Anna looked less like a mother and daughter, and more like two copies of the same person 50 years apart. Sharing many physical features, from the pale complexion to the prominent nose, it was little wonder Judy had nicknamed her only daughter "mini-me".
Through her thick glasses, the family matriarch eyed the helmsman at the receiving end of the earlier mishap. Deviating slightly from her path to approach him, she thus silently directed the dogs and her relatives to follow suit. "That was good work you did with that ship," she commended him, making her presence known. "Normally, I'd chalk that up to a reckless captain, but I'm starting to think we have organizational problems to fix on the station side."Max simply accepted that this was a work conversation, but his daughter had that unyielding teenaged drive to show how much smarter than everyone she was. "There were empty landing pads, so it's just really stupid," the 14-year-old opined, earning a glare from a mother who knew she'd soon be glaring upward, not downward, at this child as well. "Sorry, mother. I'll mind my own business."

[NPC - Petty Officer 2nd Class Dihiq, son of Kroka - Landing Pad C]
Dihiq wasn't good at his job. There was no way around it.
This PO2, assigned to Operations and responsible for overseeing one of the mixed Starfleet-Civilian crews loading and unloading vessels, wasn't good at his job. He'd been pushed down into it, after proving inept as a linguist, but he was bad at it.
He'd now gotten assigned this particular ship, but he hadn't received any pertinent information - only a very brief info sheet on the vessel itself.
"Does anyone have the unloading schedule of the USS Felicity Ellis?" the helpless, short Klingon asked rather loudly, over the whole commotion. Evidently, he had misread the information given to him, or it itself was jumbled.
*** [NPC - Lt. Cmdr. (reserves) Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, RA, PE - Landing Pad C]
Apparently, even the station's commander hadn't known the USS Mac was coming in today, but Doug had connections. An El-Aurian as ancient and distinguished (and so recently forced to leave the fleet) as himself had ways of knowing things, and he had plans. In order to fuel his business, he was going to pitch, to a senior member of the incoming command crew, a tour of Kerelia's jungles as a fine bonding activity for their crew. And who better to guide them on this tour than Dr. Doug Zaman, architect-lawyer-engineer-physicist-zoologist and erstwhile Chief Science Officer?
With his noted sidekick PooDoo (a Lesser PooDoo - a small, adorable, fluffy, but dangerous native species on Kerelia) on his shoulder as she often was, Doug looked around the landing pad for someone to whom he could pitch.

She grumbled under her breath. So where was this Felicity Ellis person? Parsinp's eyesight wasn't good enough to see any pips from this distance, so she'd have to ask someone. This prompted more grumbling. Why couldn't this youngun' go away? She was still perfectly capable of running the station, not that old at all. She'd only just turned sixty-one, but no, the admiralty wanted to install a new crew, replace many of the old faces, especially hers. Just because she didn't exactly follow protocols. You, there, she called, pointing imperiously at a man with green-hued skin. Which one is your captain? I'm the commander of this station.

[Aft Lounge, Deck 10 - USS Mac] Caroline squinted at Chris through her dark glasses. Caroline grinned at the woman, not too put off by the frown or the sour words. [Aft Lounge] "I...think its because you can't play cards!" he said while clutching his cards while eyeballing Cara "You didn't want a 9. Ya see... you you you can't play cards! How long... have we know each other and you sssstill can't play cards. You arrre a lost cause, my friend" he postulated before bring posed the question of their identities. "Shhhhhh" he hushed dramatically "You can't let anyone hearrrrrrr. Not like these fancy flying machines can't know our names anyway." he giggled as he noticed an approaching person (or two as his vision would have it). We've arrived at the arsehole of nowhere." "Whyyy helloooooo ma'am. I'd stand up buuuuuuuuuuuut..." he said, leaving her to fill in the blanks "I don't do much of that hearing malarkey. Unlike you fancy pip-wearing elite, we don't have the luxury of being able to listen, just follow orders. Speaking of ordersss..." he said, accepting his drink from Flaisl with a wink "That'll be all for now" he said with what he thought was a smooth smile "So... Ma'am" he began again (while attempting to sneak a peek at Cara's cards) "You do the swoosh swoosh and the vroom, don't you?" he inquired with his best impressions of a plane and a car (not that they were good) "I'm sssomething of a pilot... well, I've flown a shuttle... well technically I was a copilot... well technically I was a passenger... nevermind..." he said, giggling again "Cara! Gib 4s!"
