[Computer Core - Deck 8] Everything hurt and not just from where she had been hit in the face, as her excursion through the Jefferies tubes began to catch up with her. Not that she was going to let their captors know that she was weakened as her brain finally made sense of the situation that she now found herself in. In fact if it hadn't been for Darby begging them not to hurt him and how he could be a valuable hostage, she would probably of remained dazed and slightly out of it. Determined to let the pain get the better of her, Thea decided that for now remaining quiet was probably a good thing as the last thing wanted was to incur the Prisoner's wrath. If they had no problem with hitting her, then she wasn't going to give them the satisfaction or the need to continue being violent. Of course that didn't mean that she was scared on the inside as her thoughts turned to Isaiah. It seemed that lately it was her turn to cause concern, not only with this but also when she was near death during their last mission. Making a promise to herself that if she got out of this alive then she would make it up to him somehow and if she could focus on that and the man she was becoming close too, then it gave her another reason to keep fighting. So that's what Thea did as the one who hit her, answered Darby, before removing their commbadges. So much for that idea Thea thought to herself, even if she hadn't quite figured out how she was going to activate the comm without getting hit again. Instead she observed them as the other two Arkarian's joined their small group, silently hoping that someone, somewhere had realised that they were missing as her attention turned to the phaser that was being moved between her and Darby. Then came a glimmer of hope that the Mac would help them fight back if they were unsuccessful in erecting a forcefield, if not then it was time to come up with another plan. " If you insist on keeping us here, then let me treat my patient, we're unarmed and pose no threat to you".

[ Arkarians | Computer Core Deck 6/7 ]"You think you're neutral? Just following orders, just along for the ride?" Malko spat the words at Baker. "This isn't a cruise, is it! Where do you think you're taking us!"From above, Cheron's voice rang out, a treble of melodic Arkarian curses. "It's not woooorking...! It's not woooorking!"Benor, leaving Malko to his rage, went over to Cheron. "Show me."Cheron did. The storm had wrecked everything and even Cheron's encyclopaedic savvy weren't a match for the chaos in the ship's systems. Glitches, she could exploit. Damage she could leverage. But this? It was a wonder they hadn't imploded. Benor looked over her shoulder where Malko was pacing in front of the two prisoners. One medic and one patient. "New plan!" she shouted. "Sickbay!"Cheron's eyes went wide, but she held her tongue. Benor had saved their lives dozens of times and now was not the time to question her. Cheron went to work. "It's on Deck 6," she said. "How convenient."Malko waved the phaser at their prisoners. "Get up! Move! "Benor added more calmly to the medic, "You can treat your patient in sickbay, or we can leave him here. Either way, you're coming with us."They needed a hostage and they needed shelter in what Benor hoped would be the next best option to the computer core. It was a risk, but if they couldn't secure the computer core with a force field, they had to move. Thea Baker Judith Eastman

=/\= Ozu to engineering. Clear the open area of main engineering. We're attempting a beam in test. Reply to confirm the arrival of the, uh, chocolate bar with a combadge. =/\= [NPC - Chief Petty Officer Dawn Bawn - Main Engineering, USS Mac]A chocolate bar? Dawn couldn't help but wonder why. It seemed like the most random thing to be on about, but she wasn't here to question orders. Especially when it materialized. =A= "Engineering to Bridge, this is Bawn. The chocolate bar is here," =A= she reported.
[Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, Deck 18, USS Mac] Isaiah turned towards the chief. It seemed they had the same idea where the transporters were concerned, but differed on how to go about testing it. It almost felt as if they were on the verge of bickering who get to dive on the landmine first. Commander Eastman, however, had a more practical means of testing their ability to transport within the ship. She obtained Mabel's commbadge and recommended using it to transport a piece of chocolate. There was no reason to argue with that. Plus, Engineering should be spacious enough that one wouldn't have to worry about large debris being scattered as an obstruction to a successful transport. "Aye, Commander," was Isaiah's reply. He then looked towards Chief Ozu. "Would you care to do the honors, Chief?" he asked. She was certainly among the most qualified present to execute the transport manually. Plus, he wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to attempt it from her station or physically run the trial down in Transporter Room 3. Meanwhile, it seemed that Niles had taken some initiatives to secure the most critical areas of the ship. The only question was how much of a head start did the prisoners have. "Have there been any direct reports from the brig?" He began to wonder if that was possibly among their first casualties, as he directed the question to the tactical officer. [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Battle Bridge] Saya raised a slightly offended brow at Judy's implication that her calculations might be so far off as to transport someone inside a bulkhead, but conceded that it might, indeed, be wiser to make the first attempt on something that was not a person. She dipped her head in acknowledgement of Quinn's deference to her and turned to her station, pulling up schematics of the ship and beginning calculations to get a precise location. Standby, she said. While the computer ran her calculations, Saya checked maintenance reports again. No reports of damage specifically from the brig, but there are power fluctuations on Deck 7. After a moment, she had a precise location in engineering - a space open enough to easily beam a person. Ready, Saya reported. =/\= Ozu to engineering. Clear the open area of main engineering. We're attempting a beam in test. Reply to confirm the arrival of the, uh, chocolate bar with a combadge. =/\= In engineering, a perfect chocolate bar, with one section removed, materialized in the middle of the floor. [ Ens Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Niles ]"Aye, Ma'am," simply replied the Ensign before setting down to work. While the others on the Battle Bridge were discussing transporter matters, Niles was following the directions he had been given, taking down forcefields furthers away from the Brig and tightening the noose around the area where forcefields were inoperable. And, he also kept an eye on the security lockouts he had set in place... Many doors were opened with proper codes and authorizations... but then one hatch was forced. Then another. Then another. And, he could see where they were heading. "Commander!" The young Ensign's voice sounded like a whipcrack. "I'm seeing one hatch forced! Looks like they've made it to Deck 8. How the hell did they do that?!"The worst part, was that there was very little he could do, save watch and... =/\= "Security, this is the Bridge. Converge on Deck 8. Expect three belligerents, probably armed."=/\= There was entirely too little he could do, and that was killing him... and just as he slammed his prosthetic hand on the edge of his console, drawing a sound of metal on metal as his exposed metal metacarpals connected, the communications chirped again, coming from the Brig, indicating that status of Petty officer S'Riia and Crewman Som. Well, at least that answered that... [ Kaya Som | Brig, Deck 9 ]Kaya followed the sound of S'Riia's voice and found her handcuffed to the bench around the corner. " Vek'tema!" Kaya hurried over and knelt down. S'Riia didn't look hurt, but the phaser and comm badge were both gone. "I saw them outside; they were headed aft," she said putting her hands on the cuffs and started fiddling with them. "Comms are down, I smelled burning, we're drifting, everything's banjaxed, and now this. How do I get these off!" As Kaya (crewman, engineer, music aficionado, lover-of-noodles, not-trained-for-this) spoke, her voice became more and more agitated until her voice raised above 'calm and cool'. And then it occurred to her - the ship-wide announcement, the comm was working! She slapped at her comm badge. =/\="Som to bridge! The Arkarians are out. We're in the brig and Ensign S'Riia's cuffed to a bench!"=/\= [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD & Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Battle Bridge, USS Mac]It all happened at once, so fast. The report from the Brig, the progress on transporting, and the revelation that the prisoners were mobile. And then, the ship shook again, the shaking followed up by an alert on the Ops console. "Main power is gone on Decks 4 and 7," Mabel reported. "Sickbay is still running on backup power.""Oy vey izt mir," Judy muttered. She wished she could deal with these things, as the ancient Jewish joke went, one cow at a time, but they didn't have this luxury. She had to lead. =A= "Som, Eastman here. We're trying to locate the Arkarians. If you need a medic over there, just ask," =A= she said over the comm, hoping to project calm to the young engineer and the injured security (Judy assumed) officer. "Chief, Lieutenant, I'd say we can you out, so let's do that now," she then said, hoping to at least get some things moving the way she wanted them. "Mabel can push the button for you.""Ensign Niles," Judy then addressed her Tactical Officer. "I suppose we can use all this to our advantage. If they are on Deck 8, and the power is out on Deck 7, I'd say it's a safe bet they'll go up and not down. Let's capitalize on that."

[Computer Core - Deck 8 -------> Sickbay - Deck 7] Ignoring the words that were being spat at her, Thea remained tight lipped knowing exactly why they were transporting the Arkarian's and decided it was probably better for her not to get involved with their grievances. Besides she was here to represent the Fleet and to do her job as a Doctor and hoped that they would at least allow her to treat Darby. If they wanted hostages then she didn't think that she was being unrealistic with her request, which in turn could potentially help them to find a way out of this. That was until the Mac fought back in its own way, when they weren't able to erect the forcefield to try and prevent their capture. Trying to not to smile or show emotion apart from internal glee at this development. Even that hopeful moment was tarred by the Arkarian's decision to go to Sickbay instead. Then again perhaps this is what Thea needed after all, to get them in her own domain, before Benor spoke a little more calmly to her and left her with a terrible dilemma at the prospect of leaving Darby. Although the way he then spoke to their captors, made Thea feel less guilty and looked at him with the silent gesture to shut up. No matter what she did, they had decided that she was the one that they wanted to take with them regardless. So even though she didn't want to leave Darby she had no other choice because there was no way to get him safely to Sickbay and he couldn't climb up the tubes with a broken leg. " Seems like I don't get a choice because I have no way of getting him to Sickbay with most of the power being out ... so Darby I'm sorry but I'm going to have leave you here, use the medkit and I'll come get you as soon as I can".Getting to her feet, Thea hoped that Nelson would understand and if he could be found or mend the break enough in order to get help, then maybe it would lessen some of emotions that she was currently experiencing. There was one last look made towards her colleague before she retraced her steps back to the tube that would take them to Sickbay. The adrenaline continued to pulse through her as she willed herself to focus on climbing and not the weapon that was being trained on her. Allowing her thoughts to return to more happier times with Isaiah, enabled Thea to power through it, until she finally reached the deck and emerged in the corridor. Knowing that she couldn't just run for it or even warn those inside.

Tag K'Dex and Kaya Som [/quote][/quote] [Main Engineering] "Chief!" K'Dex called out as he heard someone else coming in to give commands. He'd personally been busy on rerouting the computer core to the secondary core, and cleaning the corrupted files, while keeping an eye on the maintenance reports and things that had been flying past. K'Dex pawed up to her, and nodded respectfully. "We've been locked down since your command. We have a mostly functioning computer system, though we've trashed most of the main core again. I've been trying to reroute power to sickbay remotely, but the relays are just fried until they can be repaired. Science seems to be in deflector control, deflector and shield integrity at 60%. I can take the lead with security in repairing internal sensors and working transporters for security teams." He raised his right paw in a soft wrapped bandage. "Not going to be a lot of use for now in assembly unfortunately." K'Dex meowed apologetically. As much as K'Dex had been skimming reports on the console while he had worked on the computer core, he realized he really had zoned out the rest of the world, as the chronometer read later than he had thought. After the Chief responded with orders, he would need to move quickly. He was already considering a triangulation possibility for better transporter accuracy in the decks without functioning sensors.

[Deck 7 - Main Sickbay] Grunting, Elijah lifted an unconscious man from the floor, seconds after he’d collapsed, and carried him over to a bed. He couldn’t help feeling agitated that Sickbay was manic, anyone helping anyone, and he had yet to see nor hear their Chief. He wondered if she was injured, had something happened in the mess hall? Was she still aiding injured parties there? He hooked up the man to a monitor, relieved to see his stats were mostly normal with only slight elevations. He did, however, have low fluids and was bordering on hypoglycaemia.
“1mg Glucagon,” he said to a passing nurse, who nodded once and continued on.
“I need a doctor,” a voice called out upon entering sickbay, and Elijah turned to see a woman stumbling forward, clutching her side above where some kind of tool was buried deep into her skin. Ouch. Elijah retrieved some clean gloves and directed her towards a bay, helping her slide up onto a bed. The wound, at least, was keeping some serious bleeding at bay but it was going to take more than just him to treat this patient.

If they are on Deck 8, and the power is out on Deck 7, I'd say it's a safe bet they'll go up and not down. Let's capitalize on that." [ Kaya Som | Brig ]Kaya obeyed S'Riia without hesitation. The main console was a wreck. The Arkarians had already rifled through it. As she began searching, she answered Eastman. =/\= Aye, commander. Ensign S'Riia thinks they're headed for the computer core. =/\= This was what they were good at, Kaya reassured herself. If Starfleet was good at anything, it was speedy, disciplined coordination. Everybody played their part and things worked out. She was as worried about the prisoners as she was to hear the ship comatose around her. Security would handle the prisoners, S'Riia was going to be fine, but the ship. It didn't matter who you were. If the ship broke apart... "Here! Thank the elders..." Kaya found a handcuff key. She hurried back to S'Riia, and as she knelt down to set to work she was surprised to see her hands shaking. It took her longer than her worry and pride appreciated, but the cuffs released and S'Riia was free. Kaya sat back crouching on her heels and sighed. "What are you going to do?" she asked blankly. S'Riia was security. Did she have to go after them? Kaya knew she ought to find Engineering. When in doubt. [ Ens Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]The security response was slower than Josh would have preferred, but that certainly was a result of the various measures he had put in place and the various power failures across the ship. And, just as he was considering what Commander Eastman had said, try and find a way to use their upwards travel to their advantage, the comms line chirped and a voice reported the prisoners might have been headed for the Computer Core... which explained the direction they had chosen. However, following that report, there was not more he could do save monitor the doors and try and see if there was any kind of unauthorized access to the consoles; and why there was none, he found himself rattling what Commander Eastman had said. Those three were on the move, with no real idea of where they were going. Use the decks without power as an asset. The fact they were moving up. There was something there, and since they couldn't be tracked on internal sensors, finding them was worse than a needle in a haystack, as they had no magnet to work with. If only they could... "Ma'am, I think I have an idea. We can't find them, but what if we could find a way to predict where they are going to be? Dangle a bait they can't resist? Maybe lure them towards the shuttlebay, the armoury on Deck 5, the Bridge?"

"They could go for either of those, or Sickbay," she confirmed to Ensign Niles. "I'd say an Armory-to-Bridge route is plausible, if they think they can do it. They go to the Armory, ransack it, and then show up to the Bridge with all the phasers they can carry."At that moment, inspiration hit her. "Wherever they're going, especially if they end up carrying equipment, they could use a turbolift. Maybe we can use that," the First Officer suggested. =A= "Eastman to Som. Can you bring a turbolift online, ready for our prisoners, but make it look like we didn't mean for it to be online?" =A= she asked, over the comm. "Ensign, if this can be done, I imagine you can work some magic on a turbolift full of terrorists," she added, to Niles. Meanwhile, it fell to Mabel to answer Quinn's comm. =A= "Acknowledged, Sir. Keep us posted," =A= she said curtly.

[ Arkarians | Sick Bay, Deck 6 ]Malko used Baker to lead their way into Sickbay, holding her out in front of him by the scruff of her uniform. He made sure his phaser was visible to any and all interested parties. Thus the Arkarians, a party of three and one, stormed Sickbay. "On the deck, the lot of you!" Malko bellowed. "Move! Move! Badges off!"There were more Starfleet here than Benor had anticipated, but they didn't need to set up house. They just needed their next foothold. She stalked the space, being liberal with the swing of her makeshift club. "I don't want to hurt you, but it would make my brother's day!" she threatened. "No heroes, just passengers, understand?"CLANG! Benor smashed some lab equipment on a work bench. Malko leveled the phaser at another medic (Azaria). "Badge! Off!"Meanwhile Cheron was at it again, her swift fingers flying over panels. She could disembowel a computer faster than an Andorian tundra-hunter could an elk. Cheron kept Benor informed. "Heya voz heya may! We've got back-up power, I can see, I can see! Boss!" [fn]She's able to see just enough of the shipwide information to give her an idea of what's getting power.[/fn] Benor went over and Cheron whispered in her ear. "The bridge is empty, Benny." Power's out on 4 and 7.Saya nodded. We need to split our focus. I need teams working on repairs, carefully. Arm yourselves and work in teams of no less than three. I need a team fabricating and installing the field emitter coil. Top priority. If we keep taking hits like we have, there won't be a ship left to protect. I'd also like to have a team coordinate with security in capturing or containing the Arkarians. Right now they seem to be somewhere around Deck 8 or 9 still, but we have no real idea of where they might be heading. We lost power to the industrial replicator, but we've just about got it back up so we can continue the fabrication.Let's get on it, Saya declared with a clap of her hands, heading for the replicator to see if she could speed the repairs along.
Tag K'Dex and Kaya Som [Main Engineering] "Chief!" K'Dex called out as he heard someone else coming in to give commands.
Tag Ozu Saya [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Engineering] Saya paused at the Caitian's call, looking up into the black-furred face as he reported and made his suggestion. She nodded thoughtfully. Report to the battle bridge to coordinate with Ensign Niles at tactical, Saya ordered. Tell Commander Eastman any ideas you have for tracking the Arkarians. It's time for some creative solutions.
And Ensign, get your hand checked by someone in medical at the earliest opportunity.Orders given, Saya resumed her course to the industrial replicator, where there was a sudden triumphant yell from those surrounding the device. May I presume that your jubilation indicates that the replicator is functional? she asked as she approached. Yes, ma'am. Back up and running. We'll have the last few parts for the emitter coil within a few minutes.Saya could see where the parts that had already been replicated were laid out in their relative positions on the deck, ready to be assembled. Excellent, we can start assembling what's here. Bring me the rest of the parts as they're ready. The chief knelt and began pulling components together, using the tools that were already there in lieu of getting her own kit from her office.

"The bridge is empty, Benny." Thea Baker Elijah Azaria [Sickbay - Deck 7] With a phaser on her back and Malko holding her by the scruff of her uniform, Thea knew that she couldn't just try to escape his hold as the odds were already against her. Besides she doubted that they wanted to lose their hostage anytime soon and even if she did succeed, they would only follow her to ensure that she didn't raise the alarm. As much as it angered her to be seen as weak and submissive, the CMO just had to continue to play along until another opportunity presented itself. However as the prisoners stormed Sickbay and instructed those inside to get to the ground and remove their badges, her anger boiled even more at how they had violated her domain and smashed some of their lab equipment. She had no idea what had possessed them to do so and despite everything realised that she wasn't afraid of them or their threats. Biting her tongue rather than comment on what they had just done, Thea's attention was on Elijah as the one stood near her targeted him with the phaser. " Just do as they ask Ensign" she said in a surprisingly calm voice despite how she felt, knowing that she had to be the voice of reason. Thea was aware of the other two accessing the computer and whispering to one another, but for now her focus was on those in Sickbay and making sure, everyone survived.

tag Elijah Azaria , Kaya Som (Arkarians) [Sickbay - Deck 7] Elijah was prepping for surgery having anesthetized the patient who desperately needed the tool in her side removed. The Sickbay was loud with commotion, lots of medical staff reassuring those in need; it was a hectic but determined environment, and Elijah was coursing with adrenaline as he worked. And then the next thing he knew, the staff around him were lowering themselves to the ground, ordered by a stranger who looked somewhat human in appearance but wasn’t, but what stopped him from immediately following suit was the sight of Chief Baker. They had a phaser. She was in danger. He decidedly moved closer before lowering himself to the ground, staying on his knees so he could continue to monitor the situation; his face hard. Despite the situation, fear eluded him; his only two concerns were his patient who was still on the bed waiting for treatment, and his Chief who had been taken by whoever the assailants were.
When a phaser was pointed at him, he looked on with no fear. He’d managed to borrow a combadge while in Sickbay, specifically in case Chief Baker should get in contact. Now he could understand she’d been a little...held up. He wondered if they’d actually kill him, wondered if it might be a worthy sacrifice if he could manage to alert Commander Eastman first. But then Chief Baker gave him an order and he trusted her judgement. He pulled the combadge from his chest and slid it across the ground away from him, nodding once at Chief Baker.

[...] "Oh, thank you!" S'Riia said gratefully. A smile had even found itself upon her face. She briefly inspected her wrists, taking a moment to rub each. She knew that she owed Kaya a large thank you. Of course, Kaya asked the question of what she was going to do. It was an unexpected answer, but she was certain that Kaya could already guess the answer. She didn't want to leave Kaya alone, but she wasn't keen on the idea of dragging her into danger either. "I can see that you get safely to the Jefferies tube," S'Riia said. "Watch you make it to Deck 11 or so, before I go after them." She had confessed her intention, making them known. Those three had escaped on her watch. S'Riia felt it was her responsibility to play a hand in getting them back.[...] [ Kaya Som | Brig towards Engineering ]Kaya smiled back and S'Riia and got to her feet. Kaya knew better to be worried for the security officer any longer - she was a Starfleet trained Caitian and they were three against a few hundred. The Mac wasn't going anywhere. She pitied an Kaya smiled back at S'Riia and got to her feet. She knew better than the fret over her friend any longer. The Mac wasn't going anywhere the Commander the gnomes in Engineering didn't say, so now it was only a matter of time before S'Riia was on their trail and everything was back where it belonged. [...]=A= "Eastman to Som. Can you bring a turbolift online, ready for our prisoners, but make it look like we didn't mean for it to be online?" =A= she asked, over the comm.[...] Oh, that was clever! A little spot of internal-aimed sabotage never hurt anything, did it. Kaya grinned and responded. =A= Aye, you know I can, Commander. Stand by. =A= Then she looke at S'Riia, her grin not close to fading even though they'd be climbing a half-dozen decks through tubes. "We're going to have run." With that, and as soon as S'Riia was ready, Kaya grabbed her kit and set off down the corridor at a run, headed back for the junction. With the ship still struggling to stay afloat, Kaya could have sworn she felt the Mac moving under her feet.

[ The Arkarians | Sickbay ]Benor leaned close to Cheron. "What do you mean empty?"Cheron explained what she was seeing. "Bridge is here, dim as embers. Should be lit like a torch.""There could be a hull breach, they could have abandoned it," Benor whispered back. Cheron shook her head. "No, we'd know. I think they're consolidating. And I think when lights come on, we'll want the bridge and not sickbay."Benor considered it a moment and glanced over at Malko who was stomping on comm badges like they were firecracker beetles. He ought to calm down, she thought, because storms were fickle things. This one had done them a favor, but nothing about the rocking bow was a promise to anyone, let alone a promise of freedom. She turned back to Cheron. "How far?"Cheron shook her head. "Too far. Unless you can fly."Malko's voice cut through suddenly. One of the Starfleet was apparently in sickbay for a reason and found Malko's pressure less than cozy. "Stop moaning! You think that hurts? Oh, boo hoo, I sleep in a bed and eat from replicators in a fancy ship, my life is so hard!"Elijah Azaria Thea Baker
