[Promenade] Tom kept looking at the shop and minding his own affairs when all of a sudden a Ferengi stopped him. “Excuse me, Sir. You seem like the adventurous sort. And I have an adventure to sell you.” The Ferengi said as he lifted up data crystal. “I’ve heard that you are into…let’s say treasures in this area” The Ferengi continued. Tom looked at the Ferengi and before he told him anything, he would at least hear the man out. “That’s right, I’m always looking for information and leads.” . Tom said as he wanted to listen to the Ferengi for a second. “Yes…yes. In this data crystal is the location of what you have been searching. And the rumor is you have been looking for people and ships that have disappeared,” The Ferengi said. The man was informed that he had been on the market for information about anything missing. “You’re kidding. Are you serious? You know the location of Jimmy Hoffa?” . Tom acted surprised. “Y’know how valuable that information is?” He then acted like he wanted to reach out and grab the crystal. The Ferengi smiled and responded “Of course I know this is valuable. That’s why I am offering it to you. The location of Jimmy Hoffa and it’s somewhere in this sector”. Jett then smiled and responded “Man! That’s great. I don’t know if I can afford this?” The Ferengi responded, “I might give it to you for the low, low price of….how much Latinum do you have?” Jett then discreetly pulled up his pistol not to draw a commotion. “Just a couple of EM Pulse rounds with a quick delivery system. They go really fast…Tell you what, stop this scam. You suck at it and if I catch you again doing this reporting you to security would be the least of your concerns. I hope we have a gentlemen agreement here. Capeesh? Have a nice day!” . As Tom finished he began walking trying to find a place to move. He had no purpose. Thus preoccupied, she didn’t notice the large solid roadblock until she collided with it. The roadblock was a man, one Captain Leather Pants Thomas Jett, himself. She would have groaned, but the man looked somewhat… lost? ”Whoa hey, sorry there. Should have been watching where I was going. They let you wander around the Station without a hallpass, Captain?”She grinned up at him as she asked, but quickly put a respectable distance between them. Rumors tended to spread like wildfire on Front Ear and she had no desire to be in the middle of one. He stopped for a second as he recognized Caroline Riordan and mention the sarcastic comment of a hall pass in the station. “I know it’s unbelievable they just let anyone here in this station. Especially that Ferengi over there. Was trying to sell me the location of Jimmy Hoffa…hint it’s somewhere near this sector” . Tom responded with a smile as he tried to make a light attempt of humor. He omitted the fact that he offered a payment of some EM pulse rounds. “What brings you to the Promenade Lieutenant?” Tom looked around. As he noticed that it was more crowded than usual. “Is it me or it’s more crowded than usual?” . Tom asked for his observation.

Shavan wasn’t alone at the bar for long before someone sat next to him. But Kova’s presence was not unwelcome. Nor was the second ale. He flashed the Andorian a grin. Her observation was accurate; he had in fact been starting to find that there was more to this station than the uptight Starfleet institution he’d initially expected. Which suited him just fine. “Oh? Are you speaking from experience?” He raised an eyebrow. “I might sometimes look for trouble, but I try not to regret much.” After finishing his first ale he reached for the second one Kova had ordered. "Thanks.” It was possible that he'd regret that later, assuming he didn't stop drinking after just two, but for now, things were just getting started. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station] As Shavan asked if she were speaking from experience, Kova tilted her head to the side, unsure of how wise it would be to affirm such a statement. "Perhaps," she answered simply as she nursed the glass of ale in her hand. He stated that he might be look for trouble on occasion, but didn't regret much. Kova turned her eyes on him. She wasn't sure if it was his Andorian arrogance, his Orion optimism, or simply youthful indifference which had fueled that statement. She scoffed, shaking her head slightly. "Spoken like someone without regrets. The uniform will change that. It always collects its due."She lifted her glass to her lips and then took a sip of the blue liquid. As he thanked her for the drink she nodded. "No need for thanks," she said. "Just return the favor some time." Andorians preferred not to be in someone's debt, but they did always collect when someone was indebted to them. She glanced around the bar briefly, noting the growing crowd and assuming the numbers had something to do with the Nyberrite Alliance. "This place seems pretty popular tonight. Pretty fertile for all that trouble you're looking for." She smiled slightly at the comment as she sipped from her glass once again. "But be careful. You never know, trouble may find you first."

[ Leanna - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] [...] However before she handed over their son, Costa confirmed that Seamus had indeed looked after her, which was confirmed by the Irishman's trademark grin. It wasn't difficult to pick up on how Costa then reacted to the baby, not that Lea blamed her, as not everyone was used to having children around. The Freighter Captain did, catch her interest as she slid the box along towards her and mentioned that it was the thing that they had been looking for and to open in private. " Thank you and understood" she said, knowing that such things were to be kept private without too many prying eyes watching. Then Lea quickly added her thumbprint to the small PADD to acknowledge the transaction as Costa then let her know about the scheduled transport of the rest of the cargo. " Excellent, I'll have my people ready for it".As Costa then acknowledged Vasser and Fells, Lea then unfastened the baby sling and carefully handed Aven over to his Dad. [NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Blue Beta Bar - Promenade, Front Ear Station] The Boomer was everything she expected her to be. Confident, capable and jaded. She hardly seemed impressed by Helena at first appearance, but the simple drop of a name that she valued, Torngate, had opened a door that would have otherwise remained shut. The freighter captain recognized the name instantly and her curiosity, if not her interest, was piqued. "Unfortunately, I never had the honor of serving with the admiral directly," Helena answered, choosing her words carefully. "Though our paths crossed several times. I did receive some orders and reported to him on occasion during my first command, the USS Ganymede. I found him to be... well, let's just say I felt I could have learned a great deal more if I had been under his command."Vasser briefly thought back to her time aboard the Ganymede. She'd spent most of her time going through the Sierra and Maxia sectors, but then branching out beyond the Federation borders. That was a different time, and different life. She had no idea how the freighter captain would react, but she'd adjust accordingly. For now, she had Costa's ear, now she wanted the woman's interest. However, before she could press forward, they found themselves joined by none other than Fells Halgerdur. It seemed as they were all gathering in one place. She smiled as his greeting was affectionate with his fiance, but otherwise simple where everyone else was concerned. Clearly, it was upon herself to introduce herself, especially after he greeted Costa by name. From what she knew, they had served together before. That could be something she could use to her advantage when she made them each their offers. "Good evening, Mr. Halgerdur," Helena said as she began to introduce herself. "I'm Colonel Helena Vasser. I'm the one that put you and the rest of the staff through all this trouble. I just wanted to personally express my gratitude for all the hard work you did to help pull this together." She offered her hand briefly to shake his, but understood that he had other business to attend to. Costa's aversion to the child hadn't gone unnoticed, but it only charmed Helena even more where the freighter captain was concerned. It spoke to her honesty, her transparency. Certainly attributes that Vasser couldn't help but admire. "I'm actually hoping I'll have the opportunity to further express my gratitude to each of you," Vasser said, as she looked at the couple. Though, her gaze shifted towards the Boomer. "And you as well, Captain Costa." Somehow, she felt using the woman's title would demonstrate the level of respect she held for the woman. As her communicator chimed, Vasser apologized. "Excuse me a moment. Vasser, go." It had been a simple reminder from her subordinate that it was time. "Acknolwedged. Vasser, out." She lowered her hand communicator and then turned to face the others. "I'm afraid duty calls. I have to step away to address the rest of our guests, but I'm hoping to speak with you all again shortly afterwards." It was mostly a request, as she knew she couldn't hold them hostage. Yet, hopefully between what they'd heard just now and what they were about to hear, she'd earn an audience with them. After a moment, she turned and started to weave her way through the crowd towards the mezzanine. If she didn't have Captain Ellis' attention yet, she'd have it soon enough. It was showtime. [Blue Beta Bar - Fells Halgerdur] [...] As much as he wanted to get away from the formalities and all these people, which he could easily do with his sleeping son in his arms, Costas' presence intrigued him. It was obvious that she didn't care for the baby. Not like others who were instantly smitten and making silly faces and sounds. Costa was....well Costa. One thing he remembered was an excessive drinking session on board their first ship and that she was even unrulier than he had ever been. To a certain extent it amused Fells and he liked her just because of it but it also annoyed him a little bit. "It's good to see you here. It's been a while. No more Fleet for you? But it seems you found a good occupation, that suits your personality a little better."She had never been Fleet material in his book. [Costa - Blue Beta Bar & Grill]Costa shoved the pad back into her pocket once she'd obtained Leanna's thumbprint, and gave her a nod when she said her people would be ready. Business was concluded, but she didn't rush off quite yet. She found her interest certainly piqued by this Colonel Vasser, who knew a name that held quite the sentimental value to Costa. She'd heard of the Ganymede, and something told her that this woman likely had a story or two worth listening to. "Fairest bossmang I've ever had," she confirmed in agreement with Vasser's assumptions regarding Torngate. Costa continued to watch the woman as she worked the group. She'd used her full name. Most of her own crew, people she considered her adopted family, didn't know her birth name was Alexa. It was mostly because she disliked it immensely, and really only her grandma Alice was allowed to use it. This meant that Vasser had done some homework on her and looked into her background. Had the proper use of her name not given that away, the knowledge of her service with the Admiral certainly would have. Costa wasn't at all sure what that meant at that moment, but she had a sneaking suspicion that might become clearer the longer she remained. "Na sure wha' gratitude am due, but if im¹ in the form o' more rowm², will take im," Costa muttered when the Colonel stated her intent to thank them all. "Gut luck." Costa watched the woman make her polite exit and head toward the mezzanine, her expression predominantly detached. It shifted somewhat when Halgerdur commented on her new line of work suiting her better. "An' what kinda personality would tha' be, Halgerdur?" Some people were more likely to engage their brains before they spoke; in her experience Fells had never been one of them. But then, on a good day, neither was she. "Come see the Dog some time," she offered then, including both of them. "Ever need ta hitch a ride, let me know."

[ Jack - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] " Sure, I'll put that order in for you and get you, your water" Jack replied, as he sent the order to the kitchen and went off to prepare the requested drink, as Sven got into conversation with those gathered. Returning moments later with the water and lemon, before setting it down in front of the Security Officer.

[ Leanna - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] Now that she was baby free, with Aven handed to his Dad, Lea rejoined the conversation as Vasser spoke with Costa more about their mutual acquaintance and even if she wasn't Fleet. The Betazoid was beginning to get the feeling that perhaps Vasser knew more about them, than she first thought. Whether this was a good thing or not, she didn't know as the Colonel greeted Fells and thanked him personally, before she seemed to drop a potential or perhaps deliberate nugget of information, about how she wanted to further express her gratitude and not just to her and Fells. It did leave the Betazoid wondering how exactly, when she was also including Costa, but she was left with assumptions and guesses, as Vasser then excused herself, after receiving a private call. This would definitely be interesting to witness now, although did appreciate Fells becoming more like a business partner before she left. When her Fiance then whispered and asked, how long she would need him for and if an hour would be enough. Lea turned to him, knowing why he had asked that. " Sure an hour is good with me, then you can pick up Ari if you want and I'll meet you back at home" she replied quietly, as he then engaged Costa in conversation. Lea knew that they once served together, so it was nice to hear them talk, as Costa then offered to show him the Dog, before including Lea in the offer of to let her know, if they ever needed to hitch a ride. " Thanks, Costa, I'm sure we'll take you up on that sometime".

[Blue Beta Bar- Fells]
He was glad that Lea told him she only needed him for an hour. For now he was good behind the bar talking to his former colleague. The way she still adressed him by his last name was either some tough girl act or military style. The former suited her, the latter not so much. "You can call me Fells. It's easier and I'm no longer part of Starfleet either. Just a civilian now."
Then she offered a ride in her ship, which caught his interest. "I was training to be a pilot a while ago but Lea sold her ship....any chance for a training flight?" It wasn't like he needed to follow a certain routine anyway. Maybe he could get some valuable training.
That's when Aven suddenly let out a loud burp, left some spit on Fells shirt and then made a brief tiny baby whiney sound. "Oops...are you okay, buddy?" He ran his hand over his back and the baby calmed down.

She comes off as a hard nut to crack, but I've got this feeling that under it all she's scared and trying to find her place in the universe."He paused for a second. "If I may ask you a quick question. Just a check up, How have I been doing? Anything I should I work on, improve?" he was being sincere. [Blue Beta Bar]We don't have enough on them because we can't monitor them, he thought to himself with frustration. He followed the captain's eyes as she looked over towards the Colonel who was talking with Leanna and Fells. He couldn't help but wonder if Fells was considering joining up. He certainly fit the profile of a common Alliance recruit. "I can go through security footage to see who she meets with," he nodded in agreement. "I'll have her monitored more closely as well, though I may need to second some people from Security to help. Probably not many, but I'm not sure my two staff will be enough to keep up with regular duties and this." Getting willing recruits to chat would be uniquely difficult. There was little incentive or leverage he could use to get them to flip. He didn't have the authority to provide any sort of reward to them and blackmail would be unlikely to work given the Alliance's willingness to take just about anyone who passed their selection training. "I'll look out for potential recruits we may be able to turn, but I'm not confident. It may be more feasible to send in someone undercover," of course that had its own problems and could be quite difficult given how frustratingly diligent the Alliance could be. He mind quickly began running through possible scenarios and ways to approach the problem. He could get the information the Captain wanted, he just needed to find the right person.
He noticed, and was sure the captain did too, that the Colonel was moving to the mezzanine, most likely to address the room. Picking up his drink from the table, he leaned back in the booth and made himself comfortable, taking another drink. "This will be interesting, at least," he said to the captain without moving his eyes from the mezzanine. [Felicity Ellis - Blue Beta Bar & Grill]"Take whoever you need," Felicity told Harmon when he mentioned his department might need assistance. "We'll need to loop Chief Melihn and her people in on our plan, but as much as possible I'd like to keep this quiet." The prospect of sending someone in undercover would also depend on them being as covert as possible. Her fingers tapped on the side of the whiskey tumbler. "Judging by those with whom the Colonel seems to be speaking, we should be able to develop a shortlist of potentials based on certain criteria."Movement caught her eye, and she turned her attention to the Colonel in question as she extracted herself from her audience, and returned to the mezzanine. Felicity watched over her glass, a brow arching again at Harmon's words. "Is it too much to ask that she turn out to be completely lacking in charisma and deathly afraid of public speaking?"Or that she slips down the stairs? Well now, that was very uncharitable of her. She'd hate for the Nyberrite Alliance to sue the bar over a slippery step. She waved at Jack, trying to get his attention for another refill. She might as well settle in for the speech; then she could try and subtly gauge the damage from the sidelines.

Costa shoved the pad back into her pocket once she'd obtained Leanna's thumbprint, and gave her a nod when she said her people would be ready. [...] "Na sure wha' gratitude am due, but if im¹ in the form o' more rowm², will take im," Costa muttered when the Colonel stated her intent to thank them all. "Ever need ta hitch a ride, let me know."[...] When her Fiance then whispered and asked, how long she would need him for and if an hour would be enough. He was glad that Lea told him she only needed him for an hour. For now he was good behind the bar talking to his former colleague. "The way she still adressed him by his last name was either some tough girl act or military style. The former suited her, the latter not so much. "You can call me Fells. It's easier and I'm no longer part of Starfleet either. Just a civilian now." Then she offered a ride in her ship, which caught his interest. "I was training to be a pilot a while ago but Lea sold her ship....any chance for a training flight?" It wasn't like he needed to followca certain routine anyway. Maybe he could get some valuable training. That's when Aven suddenly let out a loud burp, left some spit on Fells shirt and then made a brief tiny baby whiney sound. "Oops...are you okay, buddy?" He ran his hand over his back and the baby calmed down. [NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Blue Beta Bar - Promenade, Front Ear Station] "Well, for a start, consider your next drink on me," Vasser said to Costa. She had every confidence that while she had the woman's interest, she likely had her curiosity as well. Usually, when people were thanked it was for something specific. With them not having dealt directly with one another in the past, it likely hinted that she was after something. Vasser wouldn't deny it, and she wouldn't get pulled into a long explanation either. At least not right now. "Let me get back to you on that, Fells," she said as she took note of how he wanted to be addressed. As she left the others and ascended the mezzanine, Vasser shared a few words with her subordinate before she moved into the limelight. She never cared for making speeches, but she enjoyed making points. She enjoyed a lively debate. It was now her chance to help others see things they way they were and not as society would have them accept them to be. "Good evening, everyone. First of all, let me thank you all for coming. I'd also like to once again thank the Blue Beta Bar and her staff, without them, none of this would be possible. And finally, I'd like to thank our station hosts. Captain Ellis and the members of her crew have made us feel nothing short of welcome." She paused a moment and led the applause herself. Her eyes took a moment to focus in Ellis' (last known) direction, confident she may have earned the Captain's eyes and ears. "The main purpose of this evening is to heartily welcome our new recruits to the Nyberrite Alliance. Now, I know the reputation the Alliance has in the eyes of many. That we're a collection of misfit mercenaries. That our masses stem from penal colony parolees to unruly officers drummed out of Starfleet. That our morals fall low as the price of our services increase. Vasser paused as she stared out at those gathered. "But I challenge you to look around this room. The people gathered here aren't misfits. They are your friends... your family. They are simply trying to find a way to meaningfully contribute to their community where they won't be ostracized for choices they made in their pasts.""People seek out the Nyberrite Alliance for a second chance and we welcome them all. Perhaps it's also time that everyone else gave the Alliance a second chance as well. The Alliance is looking to extend its services to better serve our community here. Now, safety and security matters of this station are solely Starfleet's responsibility, and we would not dream of infringing upon our neighbors' sovereignty," Vasser said. "However, we do want to do our part. We want to help local businesses deter piracy and theft by making their association with the Alliance known. We want to ensure that freighters and transports know they can depend on assistance from the Alliance in any form through their association with the alliance.""When I first joined Starfleet, I wanted to be an explorer," Vasser began. "Though, shortly after the Dominion War, I realized what I really wanted to do was protect the concept of piece. Starfleet's first priority is to seek out new life and new civilization. The Alliance would like to support that continuing mission by protecting the piece we have from those that would threaten it. Talents of all sort are welcome in the alliance: those with security experience of course, but medics, engineers, pilots even scientists." Vasser took a deep breath before concluding. "The Nyberrite Alliance pledges to being an open book," Vasser smiled. "Within reason of course. I'm asked that you enjoy yourselves for the evening. You're welcome to engage myself or any of my officers and recruits on why they've chosen the Alliance. I'm also opening my ship, the N.S.S. Soteria to be toured. My staff tells me we'll be prepared to entertain the first groups within the hour. I only ask that you keep an open mind and an open heart. Thank you, and please... enjoy yourselves."Vasser descended from the mezzanine amid some applause, shaking a few hands once she reached the bottom. She did her best to make it back towards the bar, towards the small gathering she had left only moments before. However, the sporadic handshakes made it a much longer walk than it had been before. The one thing she didn't do was seek out Ellis. If the Captain had anything to say, she knew where to find her, but she doubted a lot of what she said was honey to the captain's ears. As she reached the bar, she gestured for a drink. "I'll talk one of what she's having. Anyone else is welcome," she said offering to buy another round of drinks. She then faced the others she had left moments ago. "You may have questions or you may simply want to take your leave. However, you have my money and you have my booze. I'm only hoping that you'll consider hearing me out before writing me off."

[Promenade] He stopped for a second as he recognized Caroline Riordan and mention the sarcastic comment of a hall pass in the station. [Promenade - Front Ear Station] Caroline raised an eyebrow at Jett. The man usually said some pretty incomprehensible things, so this wasn’t really all that new. ”Who or what is Jimmy Hoffa, and does it concern us?”She waited a beat and realized it didn’t really matter, he was having some sort of joke on her. Fair’s fair, she supposed, considering she’d somewhat joked about him earlier. With a dismissive shrug of her shoulder, she addressed his other questions. ”I was in the bar having a drink with a friend, but it got too crowded.”The counselor tugged at her collar nervously, remembering the captain’s calm, yet icy tone. The added reminder of her overdue weapons certification certainly didn’t make her feel at ease. ”Also, the captain’s in there, and I think I earned a place on her naughty list. But uhm, let’s not talk about that. I think the Neverland something or other Alliance is holding some kinda party at the Blue Beta. They have their flags up all over the place. You heard of them, right?”She lapsed off for a moment, having a thought as she tapped her fingers along the spots on the side of her face. What were the Nabberries up to anyways? Something sneaky? ”You think they’re selling timeshares? OH! We could crash the party, score a free meal, and sneak out before they make us listen to the sales pitch. That’s how those things usually work. Wonder if the Ferengi taught them about how to run those sorts of scams?”Caroline grinned at Jett, and her eyes glinted with mischief. The momentary existential terror of late paperwork was forgotten with the prospect of new cheeky and fun shenanigans. Tag: Thomas Jett

"Thank you."He understood the question he had popped on Melihn was a doozy and understood that it might take some time to fir her to collect her thoughts and respond. He didn't mind. And he was ready to take anything she said, even with non Star Fleet around. After all he did ask in a public place. He rose his glass to his lips and took a sip of water. He was feeling dehydrated especially after that work out. Leg day was always brutal, and anyone who said they liked it were flat out lairs. Setting the glass down he took hand from the eccentric old man. "Sir Doug it is." he said offering a firm shake. "Aye, the Bolian. She's a bit of a troublemaker. But at least she keeps things interesting. Security on a star ship is so boring. Sure you get to fire photon torpedoes at things, but that's not nearly as interesting as all the dynamic interactions with all sorts of people found of stations. Lets face it, uniforms are pretty dull people when they wear them."His attention was caught when a smartly dressed woman had ascended the second level of the promenade. He watched her as he she caught their attention and he frowned. Was this a planned event? Sven remained quiet as she spoke, taking a sip here and there. She was some sort of leader of the Nyberite Alliance. A name that did instill much confidence in the law abiding folks. Often times the same kind of response name dropping the Orion syndicate. However, they mostly kept to themselves on the station and there was, to his knowledge, no known altercation between them and any of the civilian establishments upon the station. Perhaps this charter was trying to make a difference. But why the speech? That didn't make much sense to him. Usually actions speak louder than words, and those humble tended to carry more weight than those that had to point out all the amazing things they were doing. The large man shifted in he seat and continued to listen. She was opening her ship up for a tour? He didn't like the idea of that. Too easy to close the airlock and kidnap a group of people. Well, he could tie that up in red-tape. Safety inspection would obviously need to be done first. He looked to the COS. "Ma'am, I don't like this. A bunch of civilians and Star Fleet personnel touring an unknown ship. Too many unknowns and variables. I'd like to establish a security presence first. And I think that can be done by crossing all our t's and dotting all our lower case j's. Perhaps the ship should undergo a safety inspection first.?"Tag _____ Thea BakerOzu Saya Judith Eastman _____ P-NPC Principle NPC ST-NPC Story teller NPC

Tom walked with Caroline as he heads the question about who was Jimmy Hoffa. The man looked down and chuckled as she appeared to have no clue that it was a running joke in the 20th Century Earth the location of Jimmy Hoffa. He looked at her and smiled with a small nod and merely responded “I don’t think we need to worry about him. That is unless we want to create a Union with ties with Organized Crime. In which case, we would need to worry about him.” . Tom responded as it was a long story trying to explain Jimmy Hoffa and his disappearance with organized crimes. With a mystery on which where the body is.
Jett listened to Caroline's comments about the Bar and that she was on the Captain’s naughty list. She appeared that she did want to go into detail and he was not exactly the best person to be talking about their past. She listened that there was a party and basically got invited to grab their food and drink and forget about the sales pitch. They were several issues going on and Tom listened without interrupting. “Ahhh the Captain” . He said and he thought of Felicity for a second.
It was different and he tried to keep his words more diplomatic and the Captain relationship with the crew is something different. It was hard to explain but it about caring about the people in your command but also be willing to do what is necessary when you are in a mission. It is a delicate and hard balance and. “She is a strong person…I’m sure that whatever you did to be in the naughty list, can be fixed and forgiven. Trust me, I have done worse, believe me. If you ever need to talk or vent I’m here” . He then thought of the time they pointed weapons at each other.
He then looked down and thought of his prior conversation with Aella. “To be honest, never heard of them until recently and they have not been on my radar. So this is recent, don’t know much about them and quite frankly had no reason to.”. Tom looked down for a second as he was thinking.
Why are they making a splash now? Tom wondered.
“Ohh, I’m sure they are selling Timeshares with Ferengi Tactics. Personally, I would love to get one with a Pink Portico and sign up for the limited time and unlimited fees. Sounds like a Bargain. . He responded sarcastically. He then responded “Sure, we should check the food and free drinks. What could possibly go wrong?” . He said as he shrugged he did not have anything better to do and after everything. Going to a small get together seemed harmless.

She leaned back against the bar, counter-top digging into the small of her back. When Halgerdur said to call him 'Fells', she responded with a questioning look. "Ya," was all she managed; she could call him whatever it was he preferred, but she wouldn't offer her own birthname in return. She much rathered everyone just simply call her 'Costa'. As the Alliance woman spoke from her balcony, Costa whipped out her battered pad again and without looking at the screen, tapped out a message. To: ALEX HUST From: COSTA Subject: OYE¹ Body:
KOM BLUE BETA. MI GE TO ROWM.²Seems she was straight to the point in text, too. The reality was that she could smell an opportunity here, and she wanted Hust's take on it. That and also, rowm. Very generous of her to offer to ply her ship's doctor with drinks that she didn't have to buy herself. Halgerdur's question drew her attention away from the Colonel. "Can do tha'," she responded, thinking that a training session or two wouldn't be a high price to pay in return for the couples' continued good will. "Dog does a regular run ta Sierra, ya welcome ta tag along fo' one if ya wanna ge some on-the-job experience."Vasser was finishing up her kool-aid pitch, providing a welcome distraction from all of the baby stuff. She held up her glass, ready for a refill, and gave the woman an appraising look as she began the journey through the hand-shakers back toward the bar. When she reached the group and asked to be heard, Costa snorted with amusement. "Colonel, would listen ta ya sing the alphabet if drunk 'nough."

[Nondescript Store] Alex was still haggling with the Ferengi when Costa's message came in - a short, to the point message instructing him to come to a place, with a bribe involved. He flicked his eyes down just long enough to read what was written on the PADD as he extracted it from a side pocket, before wiping the screen with a glance and typing out a reply, simply "..", two little dots, as a form of acknowledgement. No details, no timeframe, just an acknowledgement of the message. Why include more details than you had to? His eyes moved back up to the Ferengi, who'd made no secret of trying to read the message. Curious beings with curious minds, Alex supposed. Conceding a little, Alex agreed upon the price and handed over the requisite goods, before gathering up the bottles and turning on his heel, heading back to the ship. It was perhaps more than he would usually consider paying, but the summons seemed urgent and he didn't want to spend all month haggling down with the pig-headed Ferengi. Thankfully, however, he'd still managed to score a good price. He didn't trust the Ferengi much, but he still provided. As the 99th Rule of Acquisition stated, Trust is the biggest liability of all. [Blue Beta] About ten minutes later, Alex entered the bar, looking around for his Captain as he moved to the side of the door. Technically, he didn't have to show up, he was off duty, but there was something inticing about her offer. Free booze was never to be turned down. Spotting her, he sauntered over toward where she was, speaking when he got close. "Oye, Costa. Keting xiya?"1

[ Jack - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] Jack acknowledged Sven's thanks with a smile, knowing that the kitchen would be done with his order shortly as Felicity caught his attention, with her silent request for a refill. The Irishman was more than happy to oblige, especially when it came to Flick Ellis, the woman who he would happily like to take out on a date sometime. It was more of an unrequited love on his part, what with his children and the busy life he led, to keep them fed. Still wishful thinking as Bindi came out with Sven's burger, whilst he excused himself to take Flick's drink over, which he did, whilst listening to the Colonel giving her speech. Not that he was overly interested in what was said as he had a job to do. " There's more of that, for when you need it" He said with a grin as he placed the glass down in front of Flick. *****************************
[ Leanna - Blue Beta Bar & Grill] Lea's attention was on the room for a moment as Fells spoke with Costa and asked if it would be possible for him to do a training flight on the Dog, since the Phoenix was no longer part of the business. The Betazoid still felt a little guilty that she had to sell the Freighter, knowing how much Fells had enjoyed learning to fly, but it just hadn't been feasible to keep it, with needing the extra funds for the move. Still she looked over at him, fully supportive in what he wanted to do, before Aven let out a loud burp and cried a little after spitting up on his Dad's shirt. Of course she was concerned, until their son settled back down as if he hadn't done anything. Happy that he was okay, Lea was then happy to hear Costa agree to Fells' request and appreciated the Captain's offer for him to join them on their next run to Sierra. Then her attention was on the Colonel as Vasser addressed everyone in the bar, listening to what seemed to be a very well rehearsed speech. Whilst she understood where the Alliance was coming from and their message, she still wasn't fully convinced as to what their true motives were. Of course she wasn't one to judge, not unless it was absolutely necessary, nor did she want to be on the wrong side of them. However wouldn't comment just yet and decided to see how things panned out and whether they were true to their word or not. As Vasser then finished and made her way back to them, Lea was still very much the perfect hostess as she asked for a drink. Seamus pouring a good measure and placing it in front of her, as she offered to pay for a round of drinks. Then as she faced them and asked them to hear her out, because of the money she had gave them and to have some booze. Lea considered it for a moment as Costa was the first to respond to both the drink and what Vasser was asking. Liking the amusement in the Captain's tone, as she spoke to the Colonel, before Costa was joined by a man she recognised as being part of her crew, acknowledging Hust politely. " I'm willing to hear you out Colonel".
