=/\= Thea to Isaiah, please respond =/\= [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Shared Nightmare] Yes...bed... Saya said slowly. I spoke to Kyo and Evekh via subspace, told them that it would likely be my past opportunity to call as we would be moving out of range, then I prepared for bed and sat down to read for awhile. I suppose I must have fallen asleep. I am uncertain how we could be in a dream. It would have to be a shared dream, unless one of us is not real. She paused to eye Isaiah critically. Perhaps some sort of telepathy? Saya wondered aloud, beginning to pace, then pausing to look out the window as a school of brightly-colored fish swam past the window, followed by an octopus with bring blue rings along its tentacles. She blinked and shook her head. It seems we may have an intruder aboard. We should attempt to wake ourselves. The ship may be in danger. How to go about waking up, was the question. Isaiah stood there, listening as Saya worked through her train of thought, not necessarily surprised that she had arrived at similar conclusion as his own. As she eyed him critically, he did the same, seeking out any sort of clue that would end the mystery. Then, she made another suggestion that explained the possibility of a shared dream. Telepathy. An audible groan left his lips. Isaiah had never been very comfortable with telepathy. The mere thought that someone could enter your mind and manipulate him or steal his thoughts, it just didn't sit well with him. "Telepathy?" he repeated. Though, hearing it a second time didn't make it seem any less plausible. She then made the assertion that they had an intruder on board, and that they should try to wake themselves up. "You may be on to something," he replied. "Though, the question is, how. How exactly are we supposed to wake up?" It seemed that Gates had just willed himself to do so. Isaiah wasn't so sure it would be that easy though. If Saya was right, and there was a telepath manipulating them, it may be more difficult to wake than normally. "Actually... I have a theory."Isaiah moved towards the table in the center of the room. As he pulled out a chair, he could have sworn he heard his name being called. He looked around and then his eyes fell upon Thea. "Did you call me?" He didn't think it had been her, considering the voice had sounded more like Thea's. Isaiah sat in the chair, pushed it back a bit, before placing his feet on the table. He sank in his chair and wiggled a bit as if he were getting comfortable. "You wouldn't happen to know any good lullabies would you?" he asked as he reclined and attempted to close his eyes.
Tag: Ozu Saya , Thea Baker (soft) [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Shared Nightmare] Saya waited expectantly for Isaiah to explain his theory, but raised one brow in surprise when he stopped and asked if she'd called him. No, Lieutenant, she answered. I didn't say anything. Nor did I hear anything. That made a thought pop into her head. Saya was half Vulcan. While she didn't have full telepathic abilities, she was slightly empathic. If this shared dream was being caused by an alien being, it might be present enough to sense with her limited abilities. Just as she was getting...something, Isaiah asked about lullabies. Saya blinked several times. I...suppose I do. Do you think if you fall asleep here, you will wake up back in the real world, for lack of a better term? Even as she spoke, Saya was now aware of a presence in the back of her mind - nothing very clear, no strong emotions, but simply curiosity, or something like it. Lieutenant, I do believe that someone is observing us.

Chief Ozu seemed to pick up on Isaiah's hypothesis when he asked about lullabies: that being falling asleep here could lead to waking up in the real world. "That's the theory anyway," he replied to her question. Though, as he started to settle in one of the chairs, the chief spoke once more and suggested that someone may be observing them. "Well, that's creepy for lack of a more scientific term."Isaiah already felt a tad uneasy around telepaths. With the notion that someone was actually peeking in their minds and acting as some voyeur of their dreams, well... it made his idea of falling a sleep a tad more difficult. He wasn't exactly comfortable trying to sleep with someone watching him. "Can you sense anything else?" Isaiah asked. "Anything that would suggest this being's identity, or any of our colleagues?"

Shavan leaned against the wall as the turbolift hummed to life and moved down towards Deck 2. It felt like he hadn’t slept at all. But tiredness was the least of his concerns as he exited the lift and made his way to the mess hall. The doors parted, revealing the sight of a room full of people who appeared to have fallen asleep in the middle of eating and socializing. Only Shavan and the two medical officers were awake. He couldn’t help staring around at the sleeping crew, wondering if they could really be the only ones awake on the Mac. Shavan didn’t know why that would be, but if the thing controlling their sleep was strong enough to affect the whole ship, it was far more dangerous than he had originally feared. And not the sort of dangerous he was used to. Though if the rest of the crew didn’t wake up soon, the ship would be vulnerable to all sorts of other threats as well. Shavan walked over to join the medical officers. “I got out of our dream and came right here.” Now what they needed was more concrete information, and a plan. “What have you found out?” he asked Kellen, looking at the tricorder in his hand. [Corridor - Deck 2] Thea had barely gotten into the corridor when she received the first reply and had to stop herself from audibly sighing from relief as she listened to Shavan's response. The fact that the Orion/Andorian science officer had been successful in waking up, was definitely a small victory against who or whatever was causing all of this to happen and instinctively reached for her badge to speak to Shavan when Kellen also responded to her. More relief followed as Thea realised the extent of not only having another person and what it meant but also the news of what she expected to find once she reached the Mess Hall. Knowing that she was extremely lucky to have woken up when she did and now it all potentially rested on her, Kellen and Shavan to figure all of this out properly and hopefully find others that were still awake. Rather than make separate calls, Thea tapped her badge and addressed both men. =/\= Thea to Shavan and Kellen, it's so good to hear from you both, I'm not far from the Officer's Mess if you can meet us there Shavan, then we can come up with a plan of action =/\= Call made, Thea proceeded towards the Officer's Mess, well aware that the one person that she had wanted to hear from the most had yet to respond. Fear clawed at her at the thought that Isaiah hadn't heard her, which could only mean one thing. As much as her heart was telling her to go straight to the Science Lab, her head was telling her to continue, meet the others then go from there. " I'll get you back Isaiah, I promise" she quietly said to herself, determined to not fail him or the rest of the crew, as she reached the Officer's Mess. [Officer's Mess - Deck 2] Entering the room, the first thing Thea noticed was how quiet it was, compared to the usual hustle and bustle of a typical shift end. Then there was seeing everyone asleep, some in awkward positions and showing signs of not wanting or perhaps unable to wake up at the sound of the doors opening and closing. It was extremely eerie and slightly disturbing as she found Kellen. " I'm here, Kellen ... this is just bizarre but I'm happy to see another person awake".

Tag Thea Baker & Felicity Ellis [Petty Officer Kellen Gates - Mess Hall, Deck 2]Once Kellen Gates realised that there was another awake, Shavan, who he believed to be a member of the science department, he theorised to himself that there must be more. Perhaps he was being overly optimistic, but it made sense to him and it also helped him remain calm. He continued his scans, changing the parameters once or twice as new ideas came to him, and kept going until he was joined by what appeared to be awake, breathing crewmates. He gave a little head-bob in greeting to the pair of them, some of the tightness in his features relaxing just a little. However, at the crewman's opening comment, he directed his attention toward him. "I also had to escape a dream... It was fairly disturbing. In it I was injured, scraped by some branches from a hedge. When I woke up, the scratches were real." He felt a twinge in his shoulder even though he'd healed himself with his dermal regenerator - an echo of the memory of the pain. He shook his head, trying to clear the lingering disquiet, and then offered his tricorder to the other two. "Readings suggest they're all in a REM state of sleep, all areas active, but not responsive to any outside stimulus right now. Their high frequency brain waves are consistent with a dream state but it's like they're stuck; it's unchanging." If they were in Sickbay they could be running more in-depth tests. For now, Gatesy had exhausted his capabilities and was no closer to explaining this strange phenomenon than he had been when he stepped foot into the slumbering Mess.

[Mess Hall - Deck 2] The response then arrival of Shavan, was still very reassuring to Thea, knowing that she had been satisfied by hearing both his and Kellen's voices. But now that she had also physically seen them both, made it that more real and proof that they were definitely out of whatever nightmare that had threatened to trap them. Racing to a number of possibilities and conclusions or at least attempting to as Shavan asked Kellen what he had found out, before both men shared how they had escaped. Hearing that Kellen had been injured and how he had woken up with the same wounds, was disturbing and worrisome at the same time. Adding that particular piece of information to memory as something else to look out for with those that were still asleep. Then as the medical officer showed her and Shavan the results from his tricorder and explained what he had found so far, made Thea shudder slightly at how close the trio had been to being trapped as well. " From what you said about scratches still being present when you escaped, that's something we'll need to check for, to see if anyone else is showing signs of injury" Thea began as she considered everything. " We also know that three of us have escaped whatever is controlling or preventing the others from waking up, which leads us to what should we do next ...... in our shared nightmare we were headed to Sickbay to run scans ... that's something that we can still do, perhaps get the computer to confirm lifesigns too and put out a shipwide call to see if anyone else is awake unless we do a deck by deck check, which might take too long".Now was the time for action instead of being afraid and this was their chance to do that and hopefully save everyone before everything went to hell.

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Nightmare]
Doug was honestly surprised not to get any reaction to his antics. In fact, he was a little insulted. He also saw the screens. Their crew was in trouble. "What are you doing?" he asked angrily of the being watching. "We know you're there, and we're sentient, so stop using us as toys! I have a wife, you know!"Realizing that was inaccurate, Doug corrected himself. "Well, had. Wives, plural."Doug eyed the door. It looked to be made of Ash, a very good wood for burning. "Captain, Jett, do we go through this door, or burn it?" he asked. [graham’s quarters] “Uh sorry Commander I certain didn’t plan on that happening.” It was a weird and strange coincidence that he was pants less. He was definitely embarrassed enough to search for his pants. The embarrassment from being caught pants less in front of the other officers made him want to wake up from whatever the dream or nightmare that he was having. However he was glad that he was able to search for and save his brother. If he ended up losing him then things would have been a lot different for him. He never ever wanted to find out what life would be like without his older brother. He saw a strange shadowy figure and he couldn’t quite make out who or what it was. “Hello who is this? Make yourself known I want to know just who you are.” When it didn’t respond he saw a door appear. He wondered what would happen if all of them went through the door. There was only one way of finding out and that was going through the door or figure something else out. “Flick?” . The teenager looked down. The words seem familiar but he could not place it. Like there was something wrong. It appeared that there was some thoughts like something about this woman and the man that seem familiar but he could not place it. Tom listened to Felicity and she talked about her dead brother and her Kayak situation. Which was something completely different than his own. It appeared that their experience somewhat merged. The one thing is that he went missing and his mom also went missing. “Maybe…we are supposed to search for something. I am looking for my mom, Mrs. Flick is looking for her brother, Pant less guy is looking for his pants and Old guy is looking for his Wives. I don’t think this person is going to talk” . He observed the Door and pondered at the clue. He thought if someone or something was observing them it was not going to talk. He then said "It's like a holo novel he will talk at the end" The old guy suggested burning it down. Tom looked at the Old Man and shrugged it. “We should avoid to destroy things if possible, it’s bad manners and people won’t like you.” The teenager approached the door and with careless disregard decided to open the door. “Maybe it’s like one of those holo novels and the next clue is to the door. If we keep going I might find my Mom again. . He tried to open the door with no backup or security. He appeared to be heading to any potential danger headfirst with little regards of consequences. Besides bad thing happen to other people not people like him. [Felicity Ellis - The Dream]Felicity's face screwed up into a grimace as she eyed the door, which had seemingly appeared out of thin air. So far there'd been no response to her questions or Sir Doug's demands, but her intuition was telling her that there was someone close by who could hear them. Whatever it was either did not have the capacity to understand them, or was refusing to engage. She glanced from the El-Aurian to the helmsman, barely registering the fact that he'd gotten her rank wrong. It was perhaps the least strange thing that had happened since she'd found herself sitting on that kayak in the middle of the water, talking to a floating, riddling ghost. She thought that even though the young Thomas Jett was reckless as he headed straight for the door without looking back, he was also probably right. She had no idea what was going on, but she wasn't yet sure if destroying this beach, something plucked from her memory, was the safest option. "Jett, wait!" She warned, unsurprised at the recklessness of the youth, but discomfited that the teenager had not considered the safety of those with him. She sighed, spared a glance for Sir Doug and Graham, and said wryly, "Well, I guess that answers that question for us."Through the door she went. ***The Stranger
Beyond the door was their next test. They would step into a small waiting area, beneath a russet-toned sky as the sun set. The dreamers would be surrounded by encroaching greenery; hedgerows, trees, all arching above the path before them, blocking what was left of the waning light. There was nowhere to go but forward into the maze.
Behind them came a sound; a skittering movement, followed by a cry that those who had visited Kerelia might find familiar.
Behind You.

Perhaps this is such a being.Saya started pacing the room as she considered possibilities. They could go with the lieutenant's plan of trying to fall asleep; she would even sing if it would help. They could also attempt to communicate directly with the entity. She'd spun to start back toward Isaiah and had opened her mouth to make the suggestion when she had to pull up as a door suddenly appeared in her path. Her nerves were on edge and so she couldn't help a small squeak of surprise escaping her throat. She stepped to one side so she could see Isaiah and raised a brow. It seems we are presented with another option.

Him, and the pantless fellow whom Doug did not recall from that ill-fated trip. "I probably have something in my pockets that can help," he supposed, and then began to rifle through the many pockets of his jacket. Out came a series of tchotchkes: coins, lens-cleaning fluid, a Kahless bobblehead, loose papers, a wooden novelty pen, cough drops, a Richard Nixon bobblehead, assorted bottle caps from different worlds, and finally, a holoprojector. "This could be helpful," he offered it up to Ellis.

Both Kaya and herself moved at the same time. Kaya turned to look over her shoulder and Kaya stepped forward her barefeet on the cold floor. Kaya stayed where she was. "They can help," Kaya urged herself. "I'm fine now," Kaya responded with a tisk. Then someone came. A child. No, an adult. Tall, human, dark-haired, and looking ill. Kaya pulled her hospital gown around her more tightly and shifted on her feet. The other Kaya seemed not to notice. "Oh, he can't help," she said to herself. Kaya who was dreaming replied. "This is a hospital. You're Elijah Azaria. Don't you know me? It's Kaya." "Kaya Som," Kaya added, nonchalant. He couldn’t thathom why he would dream of her at all, but here they were. When one walked away and the other turned to him, he pressed his hand tighter against his waist, the pain - though oddly real - grounded him. Her hands are cold. Elijah abandoned his wound and enveloped Kaya’s cold hands in his own warm ones. Anxiety continued to coarse through him, making the back of his neck sweat despite the change in temperature from his parent’s house to this… hospital corridor. Kaya was in a hospital gown and Elijah frowned, looking about for a blanket to wrap around her. He was about to remove his shirt for her to wear underneath the gown when he heard a name, her name, vibrate around them.
He surveyed the area around them, gripping Kaya’s hands but not enough to possibly hurt her. “ We should go,” he said, contemplating lifting her and carrying her down the corridor in the same direction other Kaya had gone. The voice spoke again and Elijah turned, looking for a threat. A shadow man? He couldn’t put his finger on the feeling or how he knew what it translated to, but he was beginning to suspect that this nightmare wasn’t his. “ Stay back,” he said to the shadow, finding strength in protecting someone else. “ I won’t let you hurt her.”

The Stranger
Beyond the door was their next test. They would step into a small waiting area, beneath a russet-toned sky as the sun set. The dreamers would be surrounded by encroaching greenery; hedgerows, trees, all arching above the path before them, blocking what was left of the waning light. There was nowhere to go but forward into the maze.
Behind them came a sound; a skittering movement, followed by a cry that those who had visited Kerelia might find familiar.
Behind You.
[...] As it had with those on the beach, doors began to appear to other dreamers simultaneously. The Stranger turned his attention briefly to those who had begun to question their reality, those who had turned from limitless opportunity and toward the struggle to order that which they did not understand.
This door would lead them to the same test. [...] Kaya Som.The voice echoed and bounced off the close stone walls of the passageway. Shadows from every corner began to pull together, a void of darkness growing, elongating, until it became the form of a man. For these dreamers there were many doors. I can help you. [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Shared Nightmare] Saya closed her eyes to concentrate on the presence she felt, but couldn't get anything else. She opened her eyes and shook her head at Isaiah. No, I'm sorry. My empathic abilities are very limited, and I'm not accustomed to using them actively.
'Creepy' is certainly one way to describe it. I know there have been instances of aliens who communicate through dreams. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Shared Nightmare] Isaiah nodded as Saya explained the limitations of her empathic abilities. He understood. It would have been a welcome resource, but it simply wasn't an option that they had. She pointed out that there were some aliens that chose to communicate through dreams, and hypothesized that it was possible that this was such a case. "But has there been any actual communication?" Isaiah countered. "You yourself said you sensed we were being observed. I tend to think whatever is responsible for this is doing just that: observing. In particular, how we react to traumatic events."Isaiah took a deep breath before continuing. He could tell that Saya had witnessed something traumatic before, and thought it was time that he shared. "I was shown Thea's death... twice," Isaiah confessed. "Once in the corridor as tritters overtook her. And then again on the bridge, as her body decomposed rapidly." Isaiah shook his head. "The only message I can interpret from that is one of a threat."It was possible that he was having a difficult time looking at this objectively given the content of the images, and he'd be the last to deny it. Still, in his opinion there wasn't much of a message there. Chief Ozu then pointed out that they seemed to be given another option. His eyes followed hers to see a door there. "Is it an option? Or merely the illusion of one?" He stared at the door, already pondering what sort of terror waited on the other side of it. "If I had to guess, I'd wager the only option we have is walk through the door now, or walk through it later." His eyes turned to look about the room. "Where some external stimuli forces us through. Suggestions, Chief?"He was certainly more than willing to listen to whatever Chief Ozu would recommend. The only certainty was that they stood a better chance of surviving this test or torment together. After all, this being seemed content with individual trauma, and now seemed intent on observing how they dealt with it collectively.

[Petty Officer Kellen Gates - Mess Hall, Deck 2]Once Kellen Gates realised that there was another awake, Shavan, who he believed to be a member of the science department, he theorised to himself that there must be more. [Mess Hall, Deck 2] Shavan listened as Kellen Gates confirmed that he had also been in a nightmare and woken himself up. He had already noticed that what happened in the dream affected the physical body. That did sound like bad news for anyone who might dream of being injured, but Shavan was mostly just glad he himself had made it out of there without serious harm. The tricorder readings also confirmed that everyone around them was stuck in a dream state. He agreed that the commander’s proposed plan of initiating a ship wide alert and going to sickbay was a logical course of action. Although examining and trying to wake the sleepers was more the medical officers’ area of expertise; Shavan was more concerned with finding the thing that was doing this to them. He nodded in agreement, having little else to say; she was the superior officer and he saw no reason to disagree. “That should tell us if anyone else is awake. I could also scan the ship for signs of an intruder, and check the external sensors for enemy ships, or anomalies, anything that shouldn’t be there. And maybe we should check the ships logs to see if anyone who fell asleep later noticed anything. We could split up to cover more areas.” he suggested. The more Shavan thought about it, the more things there were that could be done. Not to mention making sure the ship was still on course and functioning. The intruder might not be physically on board but there had to be some kind of trace, somewhere. Tag Felicity Ellis & Thea Baker

The intruder might not be physically on board but there had to be some kind of trace, somewhere. [Petty Officer Kellen Gates - Mess Hall, Deck 2]Shared nightmare? Kellen Gates blinked, trying to digest this new information. Ms. Pennyless and the Evil Professor had been characters in a holonovel; they weren't people who were capable of dreaming. But Chief Ozu and Quinn, they were real, and they were on-board. They would have been caught in this same nightmarish web as the others, so did that mean they'd seen him in his gladiator garb? He tried to think about other things. "I noticed a few minor injuries as I scanned," he said to Dr. Baker, and then turned to gesture toward his klingon roomie. "Mehl is probably the worst I've seen so far, with a dislocated shoulder and multiple abrasions across her limbs." He had no idea what she would be dreaming about, but he could guess that it would probably be pretty violent. He wasn't as brave as she was, so Shavan's suggestion that they split up wasn't exactly an attractive one. Nevertheless they had a job to do, and until their people were conscious they'd have to remain on high alert. "Someone should check the bridge," he suggested, not immediately volunteering for the job. There was something a little more medical on his mind. "Chief, we should try and find out if there's any combination of therapies or medication that might make our people more aware of what's happening."

He heard the warning and ignored them. “Why so scared? This is Cake just need to solve this maze” Tom said overconfident as he put his hand on his hip. He was trying to walk like the adventure heroes on the holodeck with a different stride thinking he was the main character of a story. As he took a couple of steps he heard something behind him. “That’s not normal” . He slowly turned around when he observed a strange creature with multiple eyes screeching at them. “What the frack is that?!?!”. Tom yelled. The teenager appeared to be been scared and without thinking he panicked. He stood paralyzed with fear. He had never seen anything like this. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Nightmare]Teenage Thomas Jett had two evident, and in this case unhelpful, traits: he was a teenager, and he was Thomas Jett. Doug followed through the door, and immediately regretted it. These creatures were no friends of his. "Those are the Tritters. They don't like technology, and they don't like fire," Doug explained, for the benefit of the man who had turned into a teen and seemingly forgotten it all. [Felicity Ellis - The Dream, Maze]She didn't think it was possible for anyone to be more obtuse than Thomas Jett, but it turned out that his teenage self had him beat. Under normal circumstances she likely would have found it highly amusing, but these were not normal circumstances. She was trapped somewhere, a dream that wasn't a dream, with what appeared to be individuals her mind had not conjured alone. Every fine hair on her body was standing on end and her heart was racing as this entire scenario triggered a physiological fight or flight instinct in Felicity. She hated all of this, yet she followed through the door. And then, that sound. Memories of their first trip to Kerelia flashed through her mind, each image containing one of those knee-height, sharp-toothed and noisy creatures. She whipped around, eyes narrowed as she tried to spot them in the dark. She had to resist the urge to grab the Kahless bobblehead and lob it at the skittering alien as it approached. Instead though she stilled, and carefully reached out to take the holoprojector. "Thank you, Sir Doug," she said quietly, finding that taking the time to remember her manners was helping her stay calm. She tapped the device a couple of times, then moved to the edge of the staging area and fixed it into a thick part of a hedge. Before stepping away she activated it, and a large group of humanoids appeared about twenty metres from their position. Tritters hated technology, fire, but they also had no problem tearing through anything that got between them and their target. She hoped the combination of the holoprojector and the holographic crowd it created would be enough to distract them. "How are you doing this?" She asked the thin air, overcome with a sense of righteous indignation. A better question might be, 'why'. Came the unhelpful, disembodied response.

[Mess Hall - Deck 2] Now that she had come up with the beginnings of a plan of action, Thea hadn't stopped thinking about those who were essentially trapped inside of their dreams and how she was determined to set them free, alongside Kellen and Shavan. For a brief moment, the CMO was reminded of the old fashioned crime fighting trios, fighting for not only their survival but also to restore justice and stop the very fabric of their existence from being destroyed. Of course this wasn't some TV programme or holo novel and despite what they had each faced in their own version of hell, this was real and they had to do something before it was too late. So as Shavan agreed with what she had said and how he could also scan for intruders and check the external sensors, as well as other avenues to look at, Thea appreciated the suggestions in order to be as thorough as possible in solving this mystery and bringing an end to this misery. Although the suggestion of splitting up to cover more ground, wasn't something that she was keen on doing, knew that it might be their only chance to do everything that they needed to do. That was something that Thea pondered as Kellen told her about the minor injuries that he had picked up from his initial scans and how Mehl's had been the worst he had seen so far. A look towards the Klingon Crewman, didn't stop the concern that Thea felt upon hearing that news, but didn't know what it would if they tried to move Mehl. " Let's do what we can for her, for now" she replied softly, before Kellen suggested that someone should check the Bridge. If they were to split then perhaps it made sense for Shavan to go to the Bridge, to run the scans etc, but with one proviso that they kept in constant contact. " That's not a bad idea, as much as I don't want to split up but Shavan is right we would cover more areas that way, Shavan if you go to the Bridge, you'll have access to all of the sensors and scanning equipment, we keep in constant contact and I can initiate the ship wide call" she said, her brain still turning with ideas as Kellen also mentioned about trying to find a combination of therapies and medication that could help their people until they could wake up. " Yes definitely we can do that, we can go to Sickbay and work on that, then if people do answer our call, then we can direct them where we need them to go".

Tag: Ozu Saya, Felicity Ellis (The Stranger) [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Shared Nightmare] Saya considered Isaiah's words carefully. The first thing she decided was that when this was over, she was going to find someone who could train her to use her empathic ability to whatever extent she was capable. I concur with the majority of your assessments. Though I am uncertain whether the entity's actions, or lack thereof, constitute a threat. My dream did not consist of anything I haven't dreamed of before, though the particular elements hadn't intersected previously. I...started out dreaming of Kyo and Evekh on my father's ship. It was pleasant. Then a faceless Cardassian appeared and killed Kyo. A harsh breath escaped her before Saya could continue. He could have been any Cardassian, but this one specifically referenced my parents. They were murdered by an agent of the Obsidian Order. To this day, the murderer has not been caught, and I have always wondered why I was left alive. It was still so difficult to speak of, even after nearly twenty years, but anything could have significance in these dreams. She turned her face away from the other officer and examined the door, stepping around the frame to look at it from the other side. Finally, Saya reached out tentatively and touched the door. It appeared solid. We could still attempt to wake ourselves, but if this being is intent on observing us, it may have a way of preventing us from waking. Perhaps, for the moment, it is best to follow the prompts being provided. She moved her hand from the surface of the door to the knob.
