| The Shining Quartz || Opal Peridot | Max Bennigan |
The power has suddenly gone out, and with it Opal's hologram ceased to exist leaving only her Horta self. Luckly she was in her utility harness. It's what allowed her to interface with the holomatrix installed in the store. "Oh, that's not good." she commented. She waited a for a bit and when the power didn't restore she spoke once again. "That's unusual. Power usually comes back on line. Even the backups." she moved over to T'Laara. "Glad we have those out" she said meaning the crystals. Though she didn't need light. As a Horta, she didn't have eyes. Her senses were.... something else. "Max, could you take the other pair for yourself." She moved to the door. It didn't open. But on the other side she could hear panicked voices. She lifted herself up onto the door and a moment later she bored through it. "Actually, Max, can you go into the store room and get the other 6 crystals and bring them out here. I think we can provide an oasis of light for scared people."Max nodded. "Sure." he said as he grabbed the other two stones. They began to glow a soft green. He headed into the storehouse. A moment later there was a scream from the promenade. *************************************** |Science Lab, Deck 26 || Alice Duff |
Alice's chair spun slowly to a stop as she brushed away her frizzy red hair from her face. She gave Shavan a sideways look. He was a cutie. And unusual for an Andorian. They mostly had blue skin. Like, icy-blue. Like their personalities. But he had a tint of green. And he seemed to be fun loving. She put her hands on her hips as Shavan begun his introductions. A moment later she was showered with sparks. "Ack!" she said ducking out of the way. Unbeknownst to her one of the embers caught in her hair and began to use it as kindling. A little flicker of flame poofed into existence cutting the piercing darkness.
Meanwhile engineering had gotten back to Shavan. "Please hold Science Lab. There's been a system-wide fault..." There was considerable background noise; People yelling, and talking and what sounded like an extinguisher being sued. Whoever responded closed the line.
[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Science Lab] The response from Engineering, while not totally reassuring, revealed that this had affected the whole station. Since they didn’t know what was going on either he didn’t try to contact anyone else yet, and instead turned back to Alice. Shavan saw the glow of sparks in the air, vivid in the darkness, before one landed and caught in.. “Your hair.” He quickly reached out to smother the flame with the sleeve of his uniform. Shavan ran a hand through his own long black hair to check that nothing similar had happened to it. There was a knock on the door from his shift partner, who had finally stopped napping and gone out to check something while Shavan had been looking at the sensor glitch. Then, with a crash and a shower of flame and broken conduits, a panel fell out of the ceiling and landed embedded in a computer station on the other side of the room. Now with enough light to do so thanks to the fire, he ran across to where there was a fire extinguisher and emergency kit with a flashlight. Pulling the fire extinguisher from the wall he wasted no time trying to get things under control. ________ [ T’Laara - Promenade] When Opal’s hologram disappeared T’Laara wondered if they would still be able to talk, but the horta quickly revealed that whatever device allowed her to communicate was separate and functional. And that she had little trouble getting past the door. So, things weren’t as bad as they could have been. “That’s a good idea.” she replied to the suggestion that they use more of the glowing quartz to illuminate the shop and invite others in. T’Laara went to follow the man, Max, into the storeroom to help, but paused on the threshold as a scream came from outside. She turned and instead of going to the back room, ducked out the hole that Opal had made in the front doors. Holding up the faintly glowing crystal, she walked quickly down the darkened Promenade in the direction the scream had come from. “Hello? Does anyone need assistance?” she called out into the dark. Suddenly a panel fell out of the ceiling and smashed into the console sending sparks and glass flying everywhere. Alice screamed and covered her head again "Holy forkin' shirt-balls!". |Deck 21, Battery Core| As K'Dex worked to resolve the issue, the temperate within the particular subset of batteries he was working with began to increase despite that they were taken off line for a diagnostic. The lighting within the work space began to grow brighter and without any reason whatsoever, all power failed leaving the large Caitain in absolute darkness. And though there was emergency lighting, for some reason it did not kick on. Tag K'Dex [Deck 21, Emergency Batteries J-Tubes] K'Dex was crawling through the third of the Jefferies tube that would lead him to the far end. He figured he'd work from the far end, and check things on this way back, including the failed diagnostic equipment. Well, he had figured that until suddenly he sank into complete darkness. A hiss came out of his teeth, and he froze in mid step, waiting for the emergency lights. And waited. And waited. Eventually, he had to put his foot down. Something was quite wrong. =/\= "K'Dex to Engineering, what's the big idea?"=/\= His comm badge gave him a the double chirp of failing to receive a response from the server. He'd heard that signals had a tendency to get scrambled down here in the depths so to speak, but he'd expected at least some sort of contact ability. Also, the interference that was the problem should have been shut off with the main power lines. So... what was happening? K'Dex was almost at his original destination anyway, so he maneuvered his pouch around to the front to pull out a flashlight, which he clipped loosely to his uniform at the shoulder. As he popped the final door out of the jefferies tube to the catwalk section, he could feel the temperature difference. His tongue unconsciously came out, and he let out a few short pants as he tasted the air. It was already several degrees warmer that the jefferies tube. His whiskers flicked in the air, and he considered. The j-tubes were usually much cooler than the rest of the station, and he'd been exercising. Maybe he was just imagining it. He moved to the first of the battery cells, and examined the connections. He tenatively adjusted one of them, and snatched his hand back quickly. It was hot, almost unbearably so. These batteries were the emergency batteries, they should have minimal if any drain on them. And, if they were being drained... why were the lights out at the same time?

|Blue Beta Bar and Grill || Xander | Sherry X.|"Right." Xander agreed. He headed over to the chiller and took out what would expire first working quickly to keep as much of the cold air in as possible. He starting mixing this with that, blending my hand. Any ice had to be smashed with a mallet and thus he couldn't achieve a fine crush. But these were strange circumstances. He made a number of pitchers and placed them on the bar top. He then entered the pantry and acquired some snacks. A range from sweet to savory to salty. "I think we might as well make this as pleasant as possible. I hope it doesn't take too long for the power to restore. Do we have a back-up generator?"Meanwhile, Sherry followed Jack back into the warehouse where she was shown the solar powered decorations. She picked on up and examined it with her little light. "Oh, how hideous." she lamanted. "Nothing to be said for it. Then again, one can't expect a little backwater station to show any kind of refinement and class." She sighed and picked up a few more until her arms were full. But now she couldn't use her little light. "Jack, darling. Escort a lady will you?"Tag Thea Baker [ Seamus & Jack - Blue Beta] Seamus knew that by having something to focus it would keep the panic at bay or at least that was the idea. Although once Xander acknowledged him and began to salvage what he could from the chiller and pantry, Seamus was confident that his plan to keep things as normal as possible given the situation was the right one. So once the ice was flattened and the pitchers were made up, along with the various snacks that Xander had brought out, the Irishman smiled as he then commented on making it as pleasant as they could. " I agree, that's my plan and now we just need to take them over to the dining area once we have the solar decorations in place, I know the kitchen will be bringing out what's already made as well".If there was one thing about an emergency in the bar, no one would be hungry or thirsty whilst they waited for things to return to how they were supposed to be. When Xander then mentioned how he hoped that the power wouldn't take to long to restore and asked if they had a back up generator, Seamus thought about it for a moment then answered the other man. " I hope so too and we do, but I'm not sure if it's working as it should of come on by now, maybe once we've taken these drinks and snacks over we can go take a look at it".****************Jack wasn't sure what to make of the lady who had offered to help them fetch the solar decorations from the storeroom, especially when she commented on the aesthetics of said decorations. They didn't do tacky at the Blue Beta, so for now kept quiet as she cast further dispersion's about the station. Besides his mother had always taught him, if you couldn't say anything nice then you didn't say anything at all and so just nodded whilst grabbing the remaining decorations. When she then asked for him to escort her, due to her arms being full, Jack answered in his friendly Irish accent. " Certainly Ma'am" He replied, adjusting his own flashlight and began leading the way back towards the bar. Once there he helped the rest of the staff start putting the decorations in various places, giving the bar a slightly blue tinge as the lights activated.

[NPC - Fatax - Corridor Outside Lab]This was Fatax's chance. The last incident of chaos on the station had caught the Ferengi in the Brig, a controlled area, with unfriendly cellmates, but this time, he was in the more luxurious realm of Primary Sickbay, recovering from a splenectomy. He'd been placed there because a fellow Brig inmate had tried to attack him at the Brig medical center. When the power went out, so did the force field around his biobed, so Fatax had managed to make a run for it. But now, stuck outside in a medical gown, he realized that this was not such a good prison break attempt - he needed an exit plan. He decided to try the first open door he could find. "What's going on?" Fatax squealed through, once his hands felt a door open. "Why can you Starfleet not get anything right?" Before the Ensign could introduce themselves, a shrill and grating voice sounded from behind the Crewman and she turned around, her right hand falling to her phaser. Her light was shining onto the bulkhead, but as the voice sounded some more she lowered it to find the bald, bulbous skull of a Ferengi. A Ferengi she was unfortunately familiar with. Three months he'd been in the Brig, and three months he'd been an unmitigated pain in the osel which culminated in his getting stabbed in confinement. That another prisoner had managed to manufacture a blade in a facility as secure as the Front Ear's Brig spoke volumes to the aggressor's resourcefulness... and just how annoying Fatax had been. However, first she would have to answer the Ensign... not that she would take her eyes off the little troll. "Yes Sir. Back to Sickbay we go. Oh, and Fatax here was scheduled for surgery in the main facility, as his safety could not be assured in the Security complex... And since he had no escort to stop him, something tells me he was supposed to be stuck to his bed by one of your medical doodads, which failed when the power cut out."Then, stepping out of the dark lab, Bremmer put her hand on the Ferengi's shoulder, and gave it just enough of a squeeze to let him know that trying to bolt, or making for her phaser, would be a bad idea, and she shone her light on the open emergency locker she had accessed earler. "Sir, before heading out there, might I ask you to get in there for whatever you can carry? I get the feeling we'll need at least lights to keep going much further."

[ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] Just as Lea managed to settle Aven so she could help Max with the children at the food table, everything seemed to go wrong when the power suddenly went out, plunging them into darkness. Of course the Betazoid half expected the emergency back ups to bring them out of the pitch black but when they didn't and she saw the flash, followed quickly by one of the conduits exploding, she forgot about her own fear as Aven cried and she sought out Ariana by calling out to her. " Ari, it's okay sweetheart, just stay where you are"." I will, Mama".Pushing through the sudden change in emotions, Leanna started to calm Aven as Saya contacted Engineering and suggested that they try and find the fire extinguisher, before Judy spoke with Max and mentioned that she had flashlights and glowsticks. When she then called the kids over, Lea was able to seek out Ari, thanks to Max activating his flashlight and walked over to her friend as Max made a call to their children and Mabel. Lea and Ari then waited their turn as Helen, Michael and Benny received their glow sticks and attempted to keep the concern for her own parents at bay as Max became assertive with Judy over her trying to get to Ops, after she had also told Saya about the extinguisher's location. " If you can't get to them and with comms working, you and Saya could always coordinate from here, whilst me, Max and Kyo keep the kids entertained" Lea offered, understanding a little as this wasn't the first emergency situation that she had been in. " What do you say kids, we can have a glowstick party instead and still have food and cake"." Yes Mama ... it'll be fun".
tag Ozu Saya Judith Eastman [ Chief Ozu Saya and family - Park] Thank the Prophets for Judy's tendency to collect things. Saya wasn't even surprised that she had not only several flashlights, but glow sticks that she passed out to the children. Saya took one of the flashlights and trained it on the ground in front of her so that she wouldn't trip as she rushed back toward the turbolift to retrieve the fire extinguisher. There was an oxygen mask hanging next to it, which the engineer quickly donned before hurrying to the fire on the other side of the park. There was a flare as a tree caught fire, and Saya picked up her pace until she was almost running, the small circle of light from the flashlight the only thing keeping her from tripping over plants and the edges of flower beds. She felt bad for trampling over the plants, but it was better to lose a few than have the entire park engulfed in flames. The oxygen mask kept her from inhaling any of the dangerous plasma fumes, but the heat was intense as Saya got close enough to begin using the extinguisher. She started at the tree that had started burning and worked her way back to the blown conduit. It only took a couple of minutes to extinguish the fire, but the exposed conduit was still sparking. She coated the ground in front of the panel, hoping the flame retardant would keep any embers from flaring up again. With a sigh of relief, Saya made her way back to the other party attendees, removing the mask as she walked. You'll have to keep an eye on that, she said as she approached. There's no more plasma going through the conduit, but there are sparks that could ignite the grass or other plants. I tried to lay down a layer of this stuff. Saya held up the extinguisher. Judy, I think it's a good idea for you to stay put. You can coordinate from here. I need to try to get to engineering, or at least somewhere I can access the computer and see if I can figure out what's going on. She pressed one hand to her cheek, which still felt overly-warm from the fire. Kyo stepped close, Evekh in his arms, and used his own cool fingers to gently touch Saya's cheek. You look like you got a little burned, he said quietly and calmly, not wanting to upset Evekh or the other kids. I'm all right. I had to get a little closer than I liked. it's no worse than a sunburn.Kyo simply nodded and tucked a loose tendril of hair back from her face. Saya stood on her toes and pulled him down for a quick kiss, pressing her lips to Evekh's cheek as well before she turned to the turbolift. She had a long climb ahead of her, but at least it was down and not up.
Tag Judith Eastman and Leanna Mazal [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Max Williams & Grandchildren - Park]After Saya's strong urging to stay, and Max's, Judy got yet another one. "Grandma, stay," Benny ordered from his perch on the stroller. "I see I have more than one husband now," she quipped. "I will stay."Michael, for his part, was a little worried, but decided to follow Grandma's lead and be strong. That meant accepting Lea's suggestion. "The food's here either way. Why not have it?" he accepted, even mirroring the small, circular gesticulations characteristic of Judy. Judy, meanwhile, took a few steps back. =A= "Eastman to Ops, report," =A= she ordered =A= "Acknowledged. Please remain calm. We may have fires on the station, so teams should be deployed to handle that. I also want teams of security and medical on all the residential and commercial decks of the station to assist civilians. And lower the temperature by 5 degrees celsius," =A= the First Officer ordered, hoping that some training would kick in, and they could pull it together. Now, it was time to bring some calm to everyone. =A= "All station residents, this is Commander Eastman. Main power on the station has failed. We want you to know first of all that Life Support systems are secure. Temperature, breathable air, and gravity will remain controlled. We will lower temperature slightly, so I recommend that you all wear a sweater or other outer garment. As we work to restore power, I ask of all civilians to please stay where you are if it is safe to do so. If not, search for teams of Starfleet personnel on your deck that can assist you. Personnel on duty should expect orders soon on how they should proceed, provided their situation permits it. Starfleet personnel not currently on duty should attempt to contact their direct superiors promptly, so that they, too, can be assigned to help us resolve this situation. Most of all, we want you all to know that the only priority of this crew right now is to protect every being on this station. Please, be careful." =A= Judy hated that she had to deal with such regular calamities - three in as many months - but she handled them the only way they could be handled: with dignity, grace, and calm. Especially in light of the frequency of shenanigans around here, this crew needed calm, and her role was to provide it. While Judy did her work, Max did his, holding a flashlight over the food table to illuminate it. He couldn't hide how impressed he was. "I feel calmer already," he said, not even joking.

He climbed up and sat on the dead computer station facing her. Was her face a shade redder? He smirked a little. Though this wasn’t exactly his usual idea of sparks flying while alone with a cute girl (or guy) in the dark. The commander’s announcement came through, telling everyone to stay calm, stay in place or wait for orders. “Looks like we’re stuck in here until the power comes back… how should we pass the time?”_______ [ T’Laara - Promenade] T’Laara felt a flash of.. annoyance as she realized that the scream hadn’t come from anyone who was actually in danger. And that the child was calling the horta who had just been nice to her a monster. When Opal spoke from the shop doors behind her, asking her to comfort the child, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to. Or if she knew how. “That is not a monster.” she said stiffly. Of course, it was illogical to expect young children to know better, so T’Laara tried to explain more gently. “This is Opal, she lives here and runs this store. She is Horta, and is as much of a person and no more a monster than you are.”
To the approaching mother, and a few other people that were still walking around, she said, “The Shining Quartz is offering light and a place to wait out the blackout for any who wish.” Then after listening to the announcement, went back inside to help Max and Opal. Tag Sven Aune

Starfleet personnel not currently on duty should attempt to contact their direct superiors promptly, so that they, too, can be assigned to help us resolve this situation. Most of all, we want you all to know that the only priority of this crew right now is to protect every being on this station. Please, be careful." =A= [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Lab near Sickbay, Front Ear Station ] [...] "Yes Sir. I get the feeling we'll need at least lights to keep going much further." [NPC - Fatax - Lab near Sickbay]So much for that. Fatax had been recognized, and what's more, he was being manhandled by a fee-male. "You should know, I have diplomatic status!" he shrieked. "I'm being held against the law, and all of you will pay! Even you!"It was a risky move, but Fatax knew he wasn't going to be able to escape by sheer wit, and certainly not by force. "The Ferengi Alliance can also reward you, if you do what you know you should," he added, because even Starfleet occasionally took bribes. [ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Sickbay ]Commander Eastman's broadcast was a welcome one and the tone of it could only have come from her. At least they'd all know if the commander was ever replaced by a doppleganger - the absence of pastry and mothering would be a dead give-away. Neme hoped the message would have the desired impact and that panic would be kept to a minimum. They had orders now as well, but Neme had to insist on an addendum. No matter the intensity of the emergency... =/\= This is Ensign Neme to Ops. Myself and another crewman are nearby Sickbay. We will secure it and evaluate its viability to handle casualties. =/\= Now to the matter at hand. Neme secured the flashlight to their wrist. "Indeed, we'll need supplies, but I will need your name first, crewman," they reminded her. They they turned to the Ferengi who now protested vehemently at his treatment. "Your diplomatic status is not my concern and there are fewer more futile endeavors than attempting to bribe a Vulcan. If your only motivation is self-service consider that your cooperation in our efforts will be looked on favorably by Starfleet." Tag Eliska Bremmer Judith Eastman (ops and Fatax)

[ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Lab near Sickbay, Front Ear Station ]Eliska had just realized she'd failed to identify herself to the Ensign when Commander Eastman came up on a general broadcast. It would seem her commbadge was indeed working, and that when she'd first tried to call out she must have experienced some form of a glitch that was beyond her understanding or ability to fix. Oh well. As for what the Commander was saying, recommending they go and find sweaters of all things? Really? She might not have the education many of her peers took for granted, but she had excelled in space survival, and in the immediate overheating would be a larger concern than hypothermia. But, well, it's not like she had the opportunity to return to her quarters just now... "Apologies, Sir. Crewman Bremmer, Security." Her sharply clipped accent was very different from the smooth delivery of a Vulcan, let alone the grating whine of that Ferengi, and would easily identify that Federation Standard was not her native tongue. However, while she did sometimes had to search for words, she did not need any help to understand what he meant, and her response started with tightening her hand on his shoulder, making a tightly controlled demonstration of her strength. "Fatax, you have no diplomatic status. And are you saying your government will thank me for making sure you remain in custody? I'm really not sure what that kind of a letter of thanks would do on my service record, or even if I'm allowed to accept a reward from them... You do realize you tried to bribe us in front of witnesses, right?"Then, she returned her attention to the Ensign. "Sir, when you grab some supplies, I'd recommend you also grab a phaser. There's no telling if you'll need on on top of the other stuff And would you care to take point, or should I, if you wouldn't mind keeping an eye on the prisoner?" Was there a single right-headed person in the Federation? "All Ferengi businesspeople are representatives of the Grand Nagus[fn]This is an unconventional legal argument being taken by Fatax's defense attorneys[/fn], ergo diplomats, despite what your Harmon and his bosses say! As a Ferengi businessman, and a profitable one, I have rights!" the Ferengi entrepreneur squealed. "You don't have the time or hands for this! Unhand me, fee-male!"Sometimes, Fatax wished he'd chosen to leave when Parsinp did. He'd never have been caught under that wonderful hyoo-mon's purview!

[ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Sickbay ]Fatax had, in so many words, chosen the path of hinderance and would need to be dealt with. They did not have time for this. "A phaser would be wise," Neme agreed. "If Mr. Fatax's containment has breached it's possible the brig is compromised. I would think it prudent to inform security of our situation." Neme was not one to over-manage lower-grade crewmates, instead prefering some self-sufficiency especially in an emergency. Neme's attention was better spent on their area of expertise. "I trust you can handle him until a more permanent arrangement can be made. Meanwhile we'll stay together." It was not a question. With that, Neme nodded towards the door and led the way out of the medical lab. They were only a few paces down the corridor to main Sickbay. It was of course in the same utterly deactivated state. In this late hour, only a skeleton crew remained and they were already at work preparing medkits and tending to the handful of in-patients. "Status report," Neme asked of the nurses and medics. "Oh, Ensign Neme, right. Well, everything's down," answered Shadid. "There was a fire but it's out. Patients are stable, nothing serious. Prepping to send a team out, some of us will stay.""Has anyone contacted Dr. Lunn?" "We tried, nothing yet."Neme nodded. "That's fine. Keep trying." "Oh! Alhamdulillah, you found him!" Shahid had just noticed Fatax. "Indeed." Judith Eastman Eliska Bremmer

| Security office || lt. Sven Aune | Sorrin Mar'kin |[...] "It is illogical to panic right now. Pause. Center yourself and take a breath." he offered in as much of a pseudo-screaming calm voice as possible setting aside his petty differences. He had heard that Aune was knocked unconscious. "If I heard correctly he is unconscious? Can you take his pulse?" He would work on finding a way to open the door. [...] Now, it was time to bring some calm to everyone. Please, be careful." =A= [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Security Office, Promenade, Front Ear Station] The growing illumination was the first sign that her pleas for help had been heard. Of course, with it arriving in the form of Sorrin, it's possible that some of the natural enthusiasm faded. She pushed her personal feelings from the Vulcan aside to address his greeting. "I'm not panicking. I'm trying to get your attention," Kova stated. She assumed it was rather obvious why she had called. The trail of blood from his nasal region was concerning enough. "I think he was struck by some debris. The blood isn't a good sign. Terrans do not fair well of internal injuries... especially to their craniums." To be such a boastful species, Terrans were surprisingly fragile. Even one the size of Sven. The Vulcan told her to check for a pulse. She rolled her eyes, but reached out nonetheless. She wondered if Sorrin was allowing his personal feelings to influence his professional judgement. Her fingers searched his wrist and then the side of his neck for his pulse. "It appears weak. He needs medical attention. Grab the medical kit."She waited for the Vulcan to comply. As she did, the sound of Eastman's voice rang out. She listened as the Commander explained what was going on. In Kova's opinion, the executive officer appeared to be in the dark as much as the rest of them... clever pun totally intended. "Federation stations don't just lose power," Kova remarked. "Accidents of this magnitude don't just... happen.

[ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] After receiving the flashlight and glowstick from Judy and once Ari had hers attached to her wrist. The second youngest Mazal, took herself off to the food table, waving her arm and admiring the colour the glowstick produced, leaving her Mother as if they hadn't been plunged into almost darkness. Leanna loved her daughter's attitude despite how traumatic this could be and not just for the children. Watching as Ari began helping herself to the food with a little help from Max as Saya returned from putting out the conduit fire and explained what they needed to do, should there be any further issues. " We'll keep an eye on it" Lea replied, before Saya also suggested that Judy stay and how she would attempt to get to Engineering. Adjusting Aven in her arms as Saya and Kyo spoke to one another and had a private moment, until Saya left them and Judy's grandchildren echoed their sentiments about remaining where she was. " That's very true Micheal and it looks as though Ari is having fun up at the food table".With the baby a little more secure and the flashlight in no danger of falling, Lea went over to the food table as Judy contacted Ops and made a station wide announcement. Again this was something that Lea had been used too, thanks to the last few years spent on Starbase Sierra and now Front Ear. Having faith in the command team and Starfleet to figure it out and rectify the problems and would help where she could. For now she focused on Ari and the others as Max then commented about how calmer he was already. " I get what you mean Max and this will be a party that we won't forget".

|Deck 21, Emergency Batteries J-Tube ||PO-01 Mary Spiesman |Commander Eastman managed to get a station wide announcement out to everyone. Something catastrophic had happened to the station's power and the heat rising off the batteries was evident of that. As the large Caitain made his way along the catwalk, there was a soft banging coming from a hatch that echoed all about him. In between the ringing hits a small muffled voice could be heard. "Help! I'm trapped!" she said hysterically. The only light she had was from her tricorder, as she didn't think to bring a utility pack with her before the crisis hit. She was taking scans of a relay further up the line in an effort to gather data for more efficient power transfer.. Tag K'Dex
