[Bridge - USS Mac] The response and smile that Thea got from the Commodore, wasn't quite what she was expecting but then again, she wasn't sure what to expect when it came to Calvin Perry, especially since she was so used to working with Captain Ellis. However that was just something to get to grips with as he voiced his approval of the next course of action, regarding the Jupiter Star. Then as he complimented the crew, Thea smiled as she knew exactly what he meant. Although when he then mentioned that he would like to speak to her in the ready room, Thea's curiosity piqued, until he explained his reasoning behind it. He was right of course, especially where it concerned the current mission and so quickly made a decision as she heard Isaiah behind her and answered the Commodore. " I agree they are a good crew and certainly we can do that now Commodore as that's an important thing to discuss" she replied as she got up from the centre chair. " Mr Quinn, you have the Bridge, whilst I'm gone, continue what you're doing and Mr Niles, proceed with contacting the subspace relays .. I like the ideas that you've both come up with so far and I'm certain that we'll find the Jupiter Star".Thea then straightened her tunic and gestured for Perry to lead the way, satisfied in the knowledge that the bridge was in safe hands and knew that Isaiah wouldn't of been expecting it, but it had made sense to do so, whilst she was in the ready room.

[...] "I'm surprised you're here with us, and not up there with the Commodore," Sir Doug pointed out, almost questioning. "Did you already get the chance to meet him?"Doug knew the Commodore had rushed through the station, and had stopped in the upper levels (presumably for Eastman), but he didn't know who else the man had encountered, Surely the #3 (excluding Perry) Officer on the duty station was on his list. "In any case, care for some cheese?" he added as he took a package of Terran gruyère out of his suit pocket. [...]“Congratulations on your promotion,” he said noticing her insignia. “Well deserved I’m sure, you were quite helpful back on the station.” He then faced Doug, and answered his questions. “I’m sure the bridge crew is quite capable of handling the search themselves,” he explained. “I’ve not had the...pleasure of meeting the Commodore yet, no. He didn’t stop buy on the station and we’ve yet to cross paths since our departure.” Which Harmon was quite content with. If at all possible he liked to know who he was dealing with when he first met people. “No thank you, I’m alright,” he said declining the offer of cheese. “Have you had the chance to meet our esteemed Commodore yet?” He asked with just the slightest hint of sarcasm on the word esteemed. “It seems odd that a flag officer would concern themselves so directly with our corner of the galaxy. I wonder if he pissed off someone above him,” he queried, aiming to subtly probe Doug for what he might know. [ PO3 Kaya Som | Engineering ]The cryptic El-Aurian produced actual cheese from his actual pocket and Kaya crossed her arms in a sort of smug wonderment. Charcuterie on the deck, apparently. Kaya opened her hand in a gesture that she'd love some cheese right now, please and thank you. "Or the Jupiter Star is actually somehow strategically important," Kaya said flatly, boldly echoing rumors among the lower decks. A missing supply ship delivering cargo to a remote scientific settlement wouldn't normally warrant such close attention. "That, or someone thinks we need looking after." Kaya heard Jin cough in the background, apparently not keen that Kaya was voicing their theories. The shared crew of the station and the ship had all been doing a solid job of keeping calm about it, but people had died on this ship two months ago at the nebula. Not only that, but later there had been a small insurrection on the ship, hostages on the station, security leaks, dealings with mercaneries, carnivorous plants, and now with Captain Ellis vanishing, the crew had begun to talk. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac] It wasn't typical behavior, but Isaiah found himself a distracted from his scans. Truth be told, the computer was doing the majority of the work, and it would have alerted him should any sign of the Orunmila or the latest missing vessel, the Jupiter Star. His thoughts were on one of his colleagues that had perished at the hands of that mysterious creature that had attacked the Mac before, placing the entire crew in some sort of slumber. The problem being that everyone had awakened with the exception of Ensign Tara Lennon. He could remember telling her to knock off early and that he'd finish things up in the lab. He wasn't certain if it was human nature or scientific curiosity that had him wonder if things would have been differently if he'd altered some variable, such as having her remain until the experiment was done. His attention was captured by the sound of his name as Thea spoke, inquiring about the status of the scans. "No sign of either ship after completing 43% of the current search grid, Commander," Isaiah replied. There was that strange sensation of remaining professional in how they addressed one another when on the Bridge. Of course, it may have been even more important to do so with the addition of their new commanding officer. Commodore Calvin Perry had been assigned to the Mac shortly after Captain Ellis' sudden reassignment. He wasn't privy to any details, but at this point, the only thing that most of the crew could do was speculate. The newly promoted Lieutenant (j.g.) Niles made the suggestion of checking with the local subspace relays to see if they could narrow down some of the last known locations of either ship. He considered commenting on the suggestion when the doors to the turbolift parted, and Commodore Perry himself stepped on the Bridge. As he addressed Thea directly, Isaiah turned his eyes and attention back to his station. While there was great concern about the Orunmila, the Jupiter Star had been ferrying supplies that were greatly needed on Mandor III. Essentially, they needed a win on this one, not another question mark. [Bridge] When Isaiah answered her, she could tell that he was just as frustrated as the rest of them, with the lack of results and the strangeness of calling each other by rank, when they were used too forgetting about it whenever they were together. She was sure that it would get better as time went on and become less strange, but for now she did smile, before the newly promoted Lieutenant Niles acknowledged her. Again the lack of traffic wasn't too surprising given this particular search area, but still there had to be something, some tiny piece of the puzzle that would allow them to find the Jupiter Star. Although when Niles made a suggestion about checking out to local subspace relays to see if the Jupiter Star had used them, she gave it some serious consideration as it couldn't to try his idea. However, before she could answer either one of them, the doors to the Bridge opened, announcing Commodore Perry's arrival. Thea noticed him look around and observe the officers on duty, before he made his way down to the command area and ask what she preferred to be addressed as, then asked for a status update. She may not of been around him for long, but there was something about him that she couldn't quite pinpoint and hoped it was just her imagination, especially since they had to work closely together, if he was to familiarise himself with the ship and how the Mac operated. " Doctor is fine Commodore" she replied in her usual friendly tone, then continued in order to answer his next question. " So far Lieutenant Quinn has completed 43% of the current search grid with no results, I was about to order him to increase sensor range. Also Lieutenant Niles, has reported that there are no other ships in the vicinity and suggested that we check with local subspace relays in case they had contact with the Jupiter Star, I thought it would be worth trying".After delivering the status update, Thea waited to hear the Commodore's thoughts before proceeding with the next batch of orders. [ Commodore Calvin Perry - Bridge] Sounds like a plan, the commodore said with an almost absent smile at the young woman. He rocked back on his heels for a moment and took another glance around the bridge. Good crew you've got here. Very good crew, he added. It was unusual for doctors to be comfortable in the captain's chair, but this Thea Baker seemed to be quite in her element, at least to outward appearance. Perry smiled again, and said, I'd like to speak with you in my, the ready room, if you don't mind tearing yourself away for a little while. We had to head out so quickly, we haven't had any time to, well, get to know each other and establish how we're going to work together.[Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac] As Isaiah continued to work at his station, he listened as Thea explained to the Commodore the progress (or lack thereof) that had been made in their current search. She also brought him up to speed on Lieutenant Niles' plan as well. The Commodore seemed to give his blessing, but it quickly became apparent that that wasn't his only reason for making his presence. Perhaps it was instinctive upon hearing the request, but Isaiah did glance up from his station as he asked to speak with Thea in his Ready Room. Perhaps there had been some late development already. If so, it would certainly make sense that he'd want to confer with his first officer. Of course, it could be a sign of some sort of change in their orders. Perhaps it was his nature as a scientist, but curiosity had certainly struck Quinn. Taking a deep breath, he renewed his attention to his station. This was the current mystery that lay at his feet. He'd run nearly every scan he could think of. So, perhaps it was his approach. Perhaps instead of focusing on where the Jupiter Star was located, he could focus on where it could be. "Computer, continue running active scans," Isaiah said before turning and getting out of his seat. He moved to the science station behind him. "Computer display the Jupiter Star's scheduled flight plan." He watched as the star chart and flight plan appeared on the screen. "Eliminate current areas already scanned." He watched as some of the map was colored in, eliminating those regions. At least this way it appeared that they had actually made some progress. "Highlight known outposts, relay stations, poplulace stations and M-Class planets and moons in the remaining areas."Isaiah continued to scrutinize the map. He'd like to think he'd knocked some of the hay off this stack, but the needle was still buried deep within. His eyes shifted towards the tactical station. "Mr. Niles?" he said trying to gain the tactical officer's attention. "I believe we may be able to further narrow our search if we combine our efforts. The information you gain from those subspace relays... and any records we have of hostile activity in this region as well."[Bridge - USS Mac] The response and smile that Thea got from the Commodore, wasn't quite what she was expecting but then again, she wasn't sure what to expect when it came to Calvin Perry, especially since she was so used to working with Captain Ellis. [ Lt (JG) Joshua Niles - Bridge, USS Mac ]To say Niles had mixed feelings about the Commodore being on board and directing things would be an understatement. Of course, he had been taught that flag officers might take personal command of a ship at times, of any ship. And that as a junior officer, whoever was in charge shouldn't bother him, just someone whose orders he had to follow. However, Captain Ellis' departure had hit him in ways he hadn't expected whatsoever. That was probably something to be chalked up to the kind of things they couldn't teach at the Academy... When Lieutenant Quinn made a suggestion, Joshua nodded. He had already pulled up incident reports and the like, but he hadn't gone through them just yet, focusing on getting the strictly technical side of the search going for the time being. "I wasn't quite there yet, Mister Quinn. I'll get to that shortly." After all, he could only actively work on one thing at a time, and at this time he was setting up the query to subspace relays and navigational beacons to see if the missing ship had made contact with any of them in case Commander Baker would indeed call for it. And, as he finished up, he allowed himself a small smile. Federation communications and navigation relays were designed for the privacy of their users, but it was amazing what doors a Starfleet authentication code could open... And, when she did, he offered a nod. "Aye Ma'am, sending out the query now." And, with a press of two keys, he sent out that request, and then turned his attention to the various reports he could find, correlating them to the Jupiter Star's flight plan, timings, and any other possible events. As he reviewed them, the Commodore and the Doctor departed the Bridge, but before long he had his answer. "I'm not seeing anything. No Starfleet reports that jive with what we know about the Jupiter Star, and nothing from the civilian side: no pirate activity reports, no distress signals, no reported debris field matching the weight of metal we're talking about here. But that doesn't mean a whole lot, civilian skippers aren't always the most diligent reporting that stuff."And, then, his board chimed, and the results of his query returned to him, and he brought up its results... which brought a frown to his face. "Well, I'm not seeing anything. Nothing from the Jupiter Star, or the Orumila for that matter, or unknown entries. Everything I'm seeing is identifiable, but nothing's matching up. But that too doesn't mean a whole lot either. We don't have a whole lot around here for counter-piracy so I wouldn't blame freighters for being less chatty than usual around here."It was a less than ideal series of reports he was giving, but that was all he really had to say. Looking for a missing starship was always a mathematically problematic proposition simply due to its minuscule size of even a mutli-million ton vessel within a solar system, let alone a volume measurable in cubic light-years. And especially if, as he postulated, they were running silent and navigating through dead-reckoning to avoid the possibility of attracting unwanted attention from their routine outgoing traffic.

[LCDR Matthew Harmon - Engineering] Harmon smiled slightly as Kaya corrected herself about his rank hastily and then raised his eyebrow at her as he noticed she quickly removed the Commodore’s photo from her screen, though he gave no other indication or acknowledgment that he had noticed. There were plenty of pompous officers who went around showing off their new pips and scolding anyone who accidentally referred to them by their old rank, however Harmon was not one of them. It didn’t bother him in the slightest, though he did find it amusing when junior officers or crewmen seemed to panic. “Congratulations on your promotion,” he said noticing her insignia. “Well deserves I’m sure, you were quite helpful back on the station.” He then faced Doug, and answered his questions. “I’m sure the bridge crew is quite capable of handling the search themselves,” he explained. “I’ve not had the...pleasure of meeting the Commodore yet, no. Trill tomato juice with a splash of Tabasco sauce, he ordered the computer. Would you care for anything, Doctor? [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac] Isaiah wasn't surprised the compliment that Thea had bestowed upon the crew. They were a fine crew. IN the short time that they had been together, they had endured quite a bit and persevered. Captain Ellis had clearly done a fine job in molding them as she had. What had managed to surprise Isaiah, however, was hearing Thea leave command of the Bridge in his hands. "Yes, ma'am," he replied, conceding to her appointment as well as her orders to continue working with Lieutenant Niles on their collaboration. He watched as both Thea and Commodore Perry left the Bridge. He then turned his attention back towards the tactical officer. "When you have them, then," he said. He turned his attention back towards the map, but began to apply the incident reports that Niles had already found. "Understood, but let's not eliminate anything just yet." The science officer figured there may be a lack of reports that matched the parameters of the Jupiter Star, but there could be some similarities elsewhere. "If I can propose an analogy, Mr. Niles. What if this... phenomenon had to build up to the likes of the Jupiter Star and the Orunmila. Not to suggest sentience of any sort, but even a flood begins with a single drop." He swallowed as his mind continued on. "Let's see if we can match similar reports to smaller vessels: unmanned scout ships, probes, communication relays." He looked over to Niles once mere, yielding to his expertise. If this were a crime of sorts, how would they look at establishing a pattern of behavior? And he couldn't help but agree with Niles that some freighter crews were in the habit of dealing with pirates in their own fashion. He exhaled, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he continued to watch the map populate. "Perhaps we shouldn't focus on where the activity is, but instead... where it isn't," he mused, giving some thought to what he perceived to be Niles suggested theory. "Slight of hand. Perhaps instead of focusing on what data that trends with what we expect, we should shift focus on what we would normally dismiss."

[ Commodore Calvin Perry - Ready Room] Right, the commodore said quietly as he turned to lead the way into the other room, unclasping his hands. Ah, now for the desk. Which side should he sit on? Tag Thea Baker [Ready Room] Following the Commodore into the Ready Room, Thea's thoughts were momentarily still on the Bridge, especially at seeing Isaiah's reaction upon being given temporary command, whilst she was speaking to Perry. No doubt that would result in questions when they saw each other privately once their respective shifts had ended, which only made her smile. Once the doors had slid shut, Thea had expected them to take their seats until Perry went over to the replicator instead. Perhaps this was his way of doing things and to make them a little more personal, either that or he was delaying for some reason. However it wasn't a concern or anything as she still had to figure him out and understand how he operated. So when he made his order, which seemed a little different and yet familiar somehow. Thea took the seat at the front of the desk, leaving the other one free for Perry to sit down at as protocol dictated, before he asked if she would like anything. " An apple juice would be great, thank you, Commodore".

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - ]"I haven't. Not a lot of people come by my lab, ever since the latest explosion," Sir Doug told Harmon, not mentioning that the latest explosion involved a contraption for accelerating cheese aging. Using the knife he carried in his outer pocket, Doug cut some cheese for Kaya, and some for himself as well. Then, he divulged his own thinking. "There's a lot going on here that the brass is probably not happy with, but I don't think they'd send one of their own just for that. They might send a loyal Captain to keep tabs on us, but a Commodore is a different story," he postulated. "I saw Perry's service record, and he hasn't left his desk for more than three years. [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Engineering]
Harmon noticed Kaya seemed to avoid acknowledging his prior comments. That was fine, he knew she was brash and didn't expect flattery to get him very far. He was aiming to gauge her response, get an idea of her personality, something he couldn't easily discover simply from reading her file, as he did with those who struck him as interesting or potentially useful. Kaya's competence and relative inexperience met those requirements, so he had done a small amount of reading on her after their prior brief interaction on the station. "Yes, indeed. The Jupiter Star might well have some importance that we have yet to be made aware of," he agreed. "I concur with Doug as well, if they simply wanted to keep tabs on us it would make far more sense to send a Captain. A Commodore makes little sense." He contemplated Doug's theories. "There is certainly something else going on here. Perhaps I am predisposed to seeing conspiracies here and there, but I am suspicious of what is really going on. A not so great man once spoke of known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. We know we don't know why Perry is here, and we also know we don't know why the Jupiter Star is important. It's the unknown unknowns that scare me more," he said rather convolutedly. He noticed Doug take a drink from a flask and felt himself getting thirsty again. Damnit, he thought. "What are you drinking?" he inquired curiously. "I think it would be interesting if we could find out more about these things. I wonder what else is in the good Commodore's files," he was well aware of Kaya's computer skills and suspected if she chose to do so she could likely find things about the Commodore or Jupiter Star that Harmon would be quite interested in knowing. Of course, he couldn't ask her to hack Starfleet just to satisify his curiosity, especially given they didn't exactly know each other very well. "Anyway, how do you find the Mac, PO?" he asked. "Is her crew worthy of such an advanced ship, or deserving of such a dead end posting?" he said with a small degree of sarcasm and contempt at the reminder of the reassignment he despised. He was also aware Kaya had previous issues with her crewmates in prior postings, though he avoided directly referencing that fact. At least for now.

[bridge-USS MAC]
While there was no reports of any concerning matter there could be things that they just weren’t seeing. He figured that other things might be picked up that could be detected by the scanners. The Jupiter star seemed to be important enough to send someone there. There might be something or some kind of information that they could potentially find out. His thoughts were on the risks and the possibility that anyone else would go and look there as well. Since there didn’t seem to be any other ships in sight they seemed to be good there at least for now.
He found it to be rather strange that nothing seemed to be adding up even though it could be identified. Maybe there was something there that maybe they just weren’t seeing or maybe there was a logical reason for this. There was a possibility that they might need to find the one thing that’s missing if they were going to figure this out.

Perhaps instead of focusing on what data that trends with what we expect, we should shift focus on what we would normally dismiss." [ LT (JG) Joshua Niles - Bridge, USS Mac ]Tactical analysis was something he was still working on refining. Lacks of reported activity, indeed, could be a sign as well. The sort of thing meaning that those ships wandering in a given area weren't coming out, and that it was far enough out of regular traffic lanes that it wouldn't show up on civilian-grade sensors, and even if Starfleet's most advanced sensor suites happened to be in range, anything far enough would still remain unseen if the people operating them didn't know what to look for. "I honestly don't think there'd be any kind of working up towards taking out multi-megaton freighters. Pirates don't think like that. And a natural phenomenon wouldn't be working up either. But, looking for what isn't there? You might be onto something there. If whatever happened to the Star or the Orunmila just so happened to not leave traces, or happen where there is no sensor coverage? That's something that could be worth investigating."Counter-piracy and contraband interdiction were some of those things Starfleet did on a semi-regular basis, and likewise with search and rescue so there was some institutional knowledge to draw from there. So, tracking down gaps in coverage, areas where absolutely nothing ever went wrong? That was also second nature. "Now, we're talking about dozens, even hundreds of cubic light-years to check for those 'black holes', for lack of a better term, and space is pretty empty to begin with. That's... I think that's beyond my abilities to sort all that out. We might have to kick it over to Commander Harmon."

[ Commodore Calvin Perry - Ready Room] Right, the commodore said quietly as he turned to lead the way into the other room, unclasping his hands. Ah, now for the desk. Which side should he sit on? Technically, he was in command, but only nominally. To delay the inevitable, he headed for the replicator instead. Maybe the good doctor would choose a seat and take the decision out of his hands. Trill tomato juice with a splash of Tabasco sauce, he ordered the computer. Would you care for anything, Doctor?
" An apple juice would be great, thank you, Commodore".
tag Admin[ Commodore Calvin Perry - Ready Room] The replicator produced Perry's drink, and he removed it and gave the doctor's order before turning to the desk with both drinks in hand. He paused in surprise to see that she'd sat in front of the desk, when she had every right to take the captain's seat. It threw him off, and when Perry went to deposit Thea's drink on the desk before heading around, he left his glass of blue tomato juice instead. Sitting in the seat behind the desk, Perry set down the other glass without noticing that he'd switched them and leaned back in the chair, folding his hands across his stomach and stretching his legs in front of him. Well, Comm, I mean, Doctor. Sorry, it'll just take me a little while to get used to that. His eyes searched Thea's face for a moment. I know this is not an easy situation for you or your crew. I was able to meet with Commander Eastman before we departed, but everything happened too quickly for you and I to chat at all.
The abrupt reassignment of Captain Ellis must have been difficult for everyone, and Starfleet assigning a flag officer in her place must be equally disturbing. I'm not here to upset the apple cart. I read the reports from when you all took over the station, and I know it hasn't been long enough to fully solve all the issues caused by the previous administration. I don't want to cause you all further difficulty. Though I am technically in command, I'd like to defer to you in most cases since you're more familiar with the crew and their capabilities.
So I'd like you to tell me what I can do for you. Perry shifted forward and folded his hands on the desk, trying not to stare too hard at the pretty, red-headed doctor.

Before that, he was off the active list for a time after the war. Something is up." Doug gobbled up his slice of cheese, and then got around to finishing his point. "I think they're testing him by sending him to test you. There has to be a story on his end," he summarized. He took another swig from his flask, and surreptitiously eyed Harmon for a reaction. [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Engineering][...] "Yes, indeed. [ P03 Kaya Som | Engineering ]Kaya contentedly munched on her cheese. No better way to befriend Kaya Som than to provide cheese; she'd give that to humans, they knew how to handle dairy. And there was nothing like a Lieutenant Commander at your station to act as a shield from supervisors who'd otherwise take idle chatter to task. Clearly the young enlisted weren't the only ones freely speculating at the changes in command - that was both reassuring and not reassuring. Who was running this thing if the All-Knowing Sir Doug and Commander Spy were in the dark. (The latter could just as easily be faking it, she supposed.) She tossed the still peeking Jin an eyebrow - she was missing out. So Sir Doug was endearing himself, but so was Harmon in a sense. He looked wretched and obviously hungover, but he was being way less a prat than back on the station. And she appreciated PO far better than Ms. Amused, she sniffed at his sass about her take on the Mac. If he really wanted her opinion... "Dead end's a bit harsh. I'd call it ... arse end," she said, being bold again, mostly for Jin's eavesdropping. But seriously, "it's not that bad. Never a dull moment. Would kill for a bio-neural circuitry retrofit, though. Maybe if we ask the Commodore real nice..." Ask her on another day and her answer might have been more enthusiastic, but with what happened at the nebula, departure of Ellis, and Avi ghosting her, she wasn't in the best of spirits about her situation. Gossip was the only thing sustaining her. Dugris Zaman Matthew Harmon

Dugris Zaman Matthew Harmon [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Engineering]Sir Doug had come to the belief that this was a dead-end posting. He reckoned Parsinp was sent here as pre-retirement, and Eastman (whether she was aware of it or not) fit that bill too by human standards. Heck, his own assignment here, before that "mutually agreed-upon" honorable discharge, could be seen in the same light. Ellis wasn't old, but she was quite young for a Captain, and she was already out of here. He also picked up on the "unknown unknowns" comment, having been around when the phrase was originated. "This? Aldebaran Whiskey," he told Harmon, of the flask. "A gift, from a secret admirer."The secret admirer was Sir Doug's publisher, pleased with the ancient man's latest manuscript. However, Doug didn't need to go around saying that. "As for bio-neural circuitry, there's talk in the grapevine about a moratorium on retrofits. Turns out, the things can get sick[fn]Source: MemA[/fn], like you and I, from some of the same bacteria. And, what's more, turns out circuits handle the common cold about as well as a human male does[fn]See article: Man-Flu[/fn]," Doug divulged on the technical side, before realizing that there was a human male among them. "No offense."

Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac] "The absence of evidence isn't the lack of evidence Isaiah mused mostly to himself. He watched the map as it populated with the evidence that Lieutenant Niles had input. There were dark areas on the map which marked areas that they had little to no data on. Quinn was still of the mind that perhaps it was areas like that which made for them to be possible areas where they could learn even more. He still wasn't content with the area that was left. Niles was right. There was still a great deal of area to sort through. They needed to trim it down even more. The tactical officer had suggested bringing Commander Harmon in on this. "We can bring it to the Commander's attention soon," Isaiah said. There were no guarantees that he would necessarily have information on those areas, but it couldn't hurt to ask. "I'd like to try one more thing first." It wasn't anything that would hinder what the commander could contribute. If anything, it was additional information that could make things easier. Besides, he didn't want to bother the commander with this if he was already working on a project of his own. "Crewman Graham," Isaiah said turning towards the helmsman. "In grids 14 thru 26 on the map of this region, are there any spatial anomalies that would cause vessels to alter course, force immobile debris to drift, or naturally interfere with long range sensors?" It was always a possibility that something could have happened in one location, and was either naturally or purposefully relocated to another area. In either instance, it would still be another piece to this puzzle.

Tag Thea Baker [Ready Room] There seemed to be some kind of awkward atmosphere developing within the ready room as the Commodore, paused after getting the drinks, before walking over to the desk with them. This was further proved when he then placed a glass with a unique bluish liquid in front of her then took the apple juice with him as he took the other seat. For a moment Thea wondered if she should mention that there had been a mix up but then thought better of it as the last thing she wanted was to cause any embarrassment. However despite receiving the wrong drink and the way he acted since leaving the bridge, Thea remained professional and hoped this wouldn't be a recurring issue. Leaving the drink for now, Thea listened as Perry began to speak, offering a reassuring smile when he apologised about how it would take him a little while to get used to calling her Doctor, before he continued. Appreciating that he had taken notice of the fact that this sudden change hadn't been easy and understood why he hadn't until this point been able to talk to her. As much as she knew about how quickly things could change in the fleet, it was actually nice to hear it from a Flag Officer as opposed to just being left to their own devices and to just accept what had happened without any acknowledgement from the higher ups. It certainly made a refreshing change and in some ways it made her respect Perry a little more, that he had actually taken the time to learn as much as he could about Captain Ellis, how it affected the crew, the issues they were still facing as they strove to make Front Ear the best it could be and just as importantly how he didn't want to upset or cause any further difficulty. Although she was a little surprised at what he said next about referring to her in most cases, owing to the fact that she knew the crew more, despite him being technically in command. It took Thea a moment to process that and what that would mean going forward. Finally after a few moments, Thea looked at Perry as she answered him. " I appreciate that you've took the time to understand our situation and what it means to us all, Commodore as well your intentions to ensure that the crew remains as it is with morale and such. I also appreciate the confidence that you have in me, to keep things as routine as they always have been".When he then asked if there was anything he could do for her, Thea thought about it for a couple of seconds, perhaps longer as she noticed him trying not to stare. Putting it down to nerves and nothing more, Thea then responded. " I don't think there is, Commodore, other than for you to get to know the crew and that I hope to continue alternating my time between the Bridge and Sickbay".
