[ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - Empty Crew Quarters - USS Mac] [...] Hmm, sickbay. Any injuries should be simulated, and it looked like there were plenty of people there, so Robyn locked onto one at random and beamed a certain Vulcan medic a foot above the swimming pool in the gym. [ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Gym ]In one moment, Neme had been running a tricorder over a holographic patience. In the next, a familiar tingling. The rest came in a rush. Neme re-materialized in the dark gymnasium and was underwater before they could take a breath. Instincts took over and Neme grasped for the surface. Since they hadn't fallen far, it took only a moment to get their head above water. Neme coughed and gasped, more startled than distressed. Neme treaded water as the lights came on as if in cheery greeting. They moved to the side and pushed their hair from their face. Neme liked a swim as much as a Terran cat did. =/\= Ensign Neme to the Battle Bridge. Someone may be tampering with the transporter systems. I'm in the swimming pool. =/\= Hacking into a Starfleet vessel's transporter systems from the outside was nearly impossible. It was a closed system. Neme had to assume someone aboard was to blame which called into question Security's precautions, but no one had bothered to ask Neme, had they?

[Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex was monitoring systems, everything was fine, and then it all went to pieces. Engineering was suddenly filling his console with alerts of possible sabotage, while he heard people beaming away. He cleared the alarms, told the officer on duty to get Engineering under control, and began checking the transporter logs. It was soon clear what was happening, as it was all being run out of one transporter. Someone was accessing it remotely through a console. Since they'd adjusted all of the ship's transporters to the auxiliary frequency, they weren't affected by the jamming they'd installed earlier. K'Dex cursed at not locking transporters to in room console control. "Dealing with transporters, Engineering reporting a disturbance, and starboard nacelle is taking damage." He growled out as he clicked his claws rapidly across the console screen. The first part was simple, writing a return transport sequence for the last 3 transports. It ran, giving a failure on the last transport for the target had moved. No real matter then, but he saw the confirmation of the medic in the gym being returned to medbay, and then heard Thea returning back to the battle bridge. Then he initiated a lockout on all transporter systems, before tracking the route of the initial transport commands. "Transporters inoperative for now then. K'Dex to Security, secure Crew Quarters K-12, possible saboteur. " He sent a command to place the console in those quarters to a live simulation, essentially locking it out from the rest of the ship without giving the appearance of having been locked out, besides a short glitch as it would change over. His console reported a short report from Engineering that Lt. Harmon was taking charge of the situation there. Good enough for K'Dex, and he sent a reply to redirect all personnel Lt. Harmon wasn't using into repair teams for the Starboard Nacelle. He then turned to the damage report, and grimaced. "Starboard Nacelle shields at 5% when it's holding. Redirecting tertiary power and pushing aft deflectors to compensate where possible. Should put the shields at 20%, but that won't last. Taking minor damage across the saucer, but shields are holding. Tactical, adjusting shield strength based on target locks. Whatever you aim at, the shields will swap to protect the other side of the ship."K'Dex muttered some short hisses at his console as he continued to deal with reports coming in. He hoped Security had been smart enough to lock the quarters themselves, as he didn't have the time for it. "If you need some room, we could disrupt the fighters by pulling your navigational probes in much closer. Their linked to your helm control, so they'll move in sync, and the close distance may force the fighters back." K'Dex mewled over towards the Helm station. Slightly quieter, but loud enough to be heard, he added "Or they'll shoot them." His head turned slightly to direct his voice to the Commander. "With the Soteria so close, we should deploy the probe on their next pass, followed by the workerbees on the one after." K'Dex said, dragging the link to the cargo bays where the chopperbees and probe were awaiting to be launched. Thankfully, even with the main transporter rooms disabled, they could still use the cargo transporters for the chopperbees.

[ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]
The Soteria was sticking to the Mac like a bad habit. The Nyberrites were sticking close and not giving much room for Lieutenant Aravis to maneuver freely. However, that hardly meant he wasn't giving as good as he was getting, trading shot for shot with the notional enemy and trying to do nothing out of the ordinary, the sort of things a very junior tactical officer might do, simply hammering at the Soteria without any particular grace. However, when they launched fighters, the young Lieutenant could not help but let out a rather displeased sound. That hadn't been something he had expected, and their maneuvers quickly set the Mac between the small craft and the Soteria, leaving them taking fire from both sides. Perhaps the fighters themselves were not hitting particularly hard, but even a thousand cuts could eventually be lethal, and Soteria wasn't pulling any punches itself. "I don't know how much more we can take from Soteria unless we can get some distance," he reported. However, with the issue of the fighters and the change in his targeting priorities, a dangerous light danced in his eyes for a moment. Oh, it was time for him to show he wasn't just some rookie. "Aye Ma'am, shifting targets."The Mac's torpedo tubes went to rapid-fire mode. Of course, no warheads were being loaded and launched, but the feeding systems were still operating, moving notional weapons into the loading chambers, and the tubes dry-fired as rapidly as they could, and simulated quantum torpedoes started hammering towards the Soteria. As for the fighters, they were elusive targets, dancing about and being immensely hard to target as they wove their lethal patterns along the Mac's port side. he would have a hard time locking onto them, even at the knife-fight range they were working from. However, there was something he could do... Working with the movement of the ship, he picked one of the fighters as a target... but he did not open fire just yet. Instead, he let loose a number of low-power blasts that were not really meant to hit; after all, no one could tell shots were made just for who unless they hit something. But, once he could bring a number of phaser banks to bear on a single fighter, he activated one of the active sensor banks in that arc, blasting it with as much sensor energy as he could muster, hoping to temporarily blind it. And then, he cut loose with his phasers without a hint of mercy. [Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] Things seemed to be happening much more quickly even while Thea reported on the mounting casualties. Yet another layer in Vasser's plan had been revealed when the fighters came into the fray. Lt. Aravis had the added challenge of attempting to avoid not only the Soteria, but its fighters as well... likely more out of concern for their safety than fear of their firepower. And as if compensating all of that enough, another mystery dropped right in their lap as Ensign Henriksen disappeared from the auxiliary station. Quinn had already began to scan for Mabel's signature. He could confirm almost immediately that it had been a transporter beam that had removed her from the Battle Bridge. It was a Federation signature... the Mac's... and it appeared to be a site-to-site transport. As the computer revealed that she was in the Chief Intelligence Officer's office, Isaiah was able to confirm, but was perplexed. "The transport was initiated here on the Mac, and there's no evidence of a malfunction as far as I can tell," Quinn replied to Eastman's request for theories. "That would suggest intent... and possibly an intruder.""I'm not detecting any anomalous bio-signatures," Isaiah said. He felt his body rock slightly as the Mac took another simulated hit. If someone is here, they know how to avoid detection. His hands instinctively reached out to take hold of his station and maintain his balance. Though, when he looked up, he realized that yet another member of the Bridge crew had been transported elsewhere. "Thea!" It was hardly professional, but the shock of her sudden disappearance had taking the Science chief by surprise. He instantly turned his eyes to his console, searching the ship hopeful that he'd detect her signature.
[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] The Bridge of the Soteria rocked once more. The forward shields were taking quite a pounding as they dropped down to 64%. Vasser trusted her engineering crew to keep them in the game. It had certainly proved to be the case thus far. The addition of the fighters seemed to have the desired effect, as the Mac's attention was clearly diverted. "Tactical, another spread of torpedoes. I want their attention on us, not those fighters!" she barked. She watched as even more of the Mac's firepower was focused on the port side. Still, she pressed the Soteria's firepower on its original target. Suddenly, the computer made a loud announcement, signaling that one of the four fighters had been destroyed. It hadn't been Mauroos, or any of the more veteran fighters. That was expected, but it was far from accepted. "Soteria to Owl-1. Tighten your formation on the Mac." Vasser leaned back in her chair. Her strategy was still sound. Though, it seemed it was time for individuals to step up. The Operations officer that occupied Banks' station pressed a few buttons, taking advantage the worm that was currently active. It was a timid attack, but likely one that would build more and more confidence. Aboard the Mac, the lights in Sickbay flickered and the doors slid open and shut randomly.
[Captain Mauroos - Owl-1] Captain Mauroos' attention briefly caught the comm message from the junior pilot that he had apparently taken a direct hit. The Mac had certainly turned up the heat, firing quite a flurry of phaser blasts in their direction. Though, upon hearing Vasser's orders, Mauroos gave the order for the team to do just that. "Attack pattern Beta-6. Full strafing run along saucer section." The ships did their best to manipulate around the Mac in an attempt to meet their destination, but the Matt's pilot seemed quite adept at making their intention rather difficult.
Soft Tags: Mac Bridge Crew [ Ensign Aravis - USS Mac - Battle Bridge] Aravis was sweating. These maneuvers, which should have been only for the purposes of simulation, had turned into an actual dance of avoiding hitting the little fighter ships that were swarming in close around them. Commander, she said tensely, those fighters are making it really difficult to do any maneuvers. They're so close, I'm worried about hitting them. If this were real, it wouldn't matter, but I assume we're trying not to actually kill anyone? She made another abrupt course change as one of the fighters got too close for comfort.
[ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - Empty Crew Quarters - USS Mac] Because she didn't want to actually remove anyone from a vital post on the battle bridge, Robyn shifted her focus. She considered engineering, but there was a lot of activity there. Probably trying to find the little surprises she'd left, Robyn thought with a grin. Hmm, sickbay. However, she wasn't going to address that now, nor K'Dex's skill, because enough was enough. This was cheating, which Judy could certainly not approve of, but it was also dangerous; just a small misstep and Dr. Baker could've been fused into that weapons locker. People could've been killed. And even if it was so, that was still a danger to life or limb. [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Main Engineering]"Yes good," he said as he followed Mabel's suggestion and began installing the new software Chloe had organised. The technology side of things wasn't at all his thing and the realisation he hadn't even thought of that software, despite its obvious use in this situation, made him realise just how much he had come to depend on his young subordinate. He often struggled to understand Eastman, but her reliance and trust of Mabel was something he could. "Expert or not, you're still better than me at this stuff," he said in a rare moment of support, though he avoided eye contact, his eyes remaining fixed on the screen. Once the software was up he set it to scan and cross references the faces of those in Engineering with crew records. Hopefully the Alliance hadn't thought to tamper with that.
Tag: Judith Eastman [NPC - Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Main Engineering]Mabel was no technological expert, but she could make it work. "There are no matches from the current crew complement," she reported after the software had finished. "This is a long shot, but the Commander... Commander Eastman and I, have a list of our former personnel, people who left our crew, that we think or know are with the Nyberrites now. Maybe we can check them, just in case?" she pitched a course of action. As much as she had a hard time that the Nyberrites would cheat like that, she had to exhaust all possibilities - Judy liked to warn that "what you and I think is unconscionable, others may call business-as-usual". [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Main Engineering]
Harmon wasn't supprised there were no matches from the current crew complement. Though it meant they still had no lead for the moment it also meant the Alliance's infiltration wasn't that deep. At least whoever they had doing this particular act of sabotage wasn't. "Yes, good idea, let's try that," he said in agreement and set up the software to scan for those known to have joined the Alliance. A few minutes later the software identified someone, one Robyn Banks. He quickly confirmed she was not on the Mac's roster. "There. She must be the one." She was acting quite suspicious on the recording and was hanging around near where they had found the strange devices.

[ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - Empty Crew Quarters - USS Mac] Robyn snickered again as she found a crew member not at any particular station on the battle bridge, so she locked onto those life signs and beamed the person away. Thea suddenly vanished from the bridge and materialized inside a dark, confined space. Surrounding her are racks of what turn out to be phasers and other weapons. The door won't open from the inside. [Battle Bridge to Unknown Location] After reporting the casualties so far, Thea listened to what was going on around her, before the familiar sound of the transporter startled her and she turned to see Mabel vanish before her eyes. Her immediate reaction was what the hell had just happened, before rationality took over and she began to wonder who had been responsible especially in the middle of a battle situation. However the Ensign was quickly located by Judy which still begged the question of why and who as further orders were issued to counteract what the Alliance had done by bringing fighters into the mix. Although before she could comment or report further or even react, it appeared that it was her turn for the transporter ghoul when the console in front of her disappeared and she suddenly found herself in a dark and cramped place. It took a few minutes for her to fully process where she was and to keep any fear at bay, before she started to feel around for anything solid. Her hands quickly made contact with what appeared to be racks .. and was that weapons .. phasers?. That's when anger began to kick in as to who would think this was funny to just take her like that or was it someone working with the NA as she was sure something would of included this in the mission brief if it was supposed to happen. Then she decided to find a way out so she could go track down the person responsible and so that's what she did. [Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] Things seemed to be happening much more quickly even while Thea reported on the mounting casualties. Yet another layer in Vasser's plan had been revealed when the fighters came into the fray. Lt. [Darkened Weapons Locker - USS Mac] Now that she had established that she was definitely in a weapons locker, Thea resisted the urge to give into her frustration and kick her way out. As tempting as that was, she wasn't stupid as it was likely she could do some serious damage to herself in the process. Besides it wouldn't do her any good to end up in Sickbay, especially since they were still in the middle of a battle simulation and she was also determined to find out who was responsible for this because if it was meant as a practical joke, it wasn't particularly funny and if it was one of the Mac crew then there would be serious consequences due to their actions. Of course if it wasn't one of the Mac crew then Vasser wouldn't get away with this either as the CMO willed herself to stop thinking until she got out of here. Time to call for help even if she had initially wanted to avoid it, but it had some become apparent that she couldn't open the locker from the inside and she was out of options. So she reached up and tapped her comm badge, knowing that Isaiah would be reassured that she was okay as she opened a channel to the Bridge. =/\= Baker to Bridge, I seem to be in one of the weapons lockers, thanks to whoever decided to beam me away, can you lock onto my signal and beam me back as I'm unable to get out =/\= [ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Gym ][...] =/\= Ensign Neme to the Battle Bridge. Soft Thea Baker [ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]The one fighter that was caught in his sights had no hope of resisting the amount of energy that had been pumped into it, or at least so the simulation had deemed and its icon disappeared from the plot that took up much of his console. And now, he knew just how much they could take at the upper half, so he could be much more economical in driving the others off, which was as close to a stress test as he was given to understand. Now if only he could only get firing solutions on the little bastards, he would put them out of the Mac's misery... When he noticed the sound and light of transporter activity, and Doctor Baker was snatched from the Bridge. "What the..." he managed, his attention now spread between the tactical action he was deeply involved in, and that change of situation. However, he did not have to wait for long before the physician's voice came over the comm system reporting she was safe enough in a weapons locker, and shortly afterwards another report came from a crewmember that had been dumped into the ship's pool.
What in the world was going on there?
And that answer came by quickly enough, with reports from Lieutenant Quinn that the transporter activity was originating from within the Mac; well, that much was obvious as their shields were up, but the real question was how. He was reasonably certain that the measures he'd taken before the engagement began would've protected them from malicious computer code or someone creating a back door into their control systems... which meant...
Crewman K'Dex was first off the mark on this one, shutting down transporters and indicating where the command sequences had originated within the ship. But before he could set the intruder alert of his own initiative, Commander Eastman spoke.
And he knew that cool, low tone would set the hair on the back of his neck on end for years to come. There was no foul language; she didn't even raise her voice. But that cold calm was even more terrifying than having someone standing on his toes and liberally showering his face with spittle in an obvious show of fury. "Aye Ma'am, disengaging the simulation now.... and Security forcefields are up, the section around the intruder is fully sealed off."
Three keystrokes overrode the simulation program and the ship, while still at red alert, saw all of its notional damage erased and all systems returned to their normal state. Which also meant that the target locks he had on Soteria and her fighters was dropped almost as quickly and another handful saw the specified part of the ship ringed with forcefields as to pin the intruder in place. And then, to have people respond to their uninvited guests, he opened an internal communications channel =A="Bridge to Security and Commander Harmon, intruder alert, personal quarters K-12."=A=
And there was only so much he could be doing at the same time, and it was only after he'd done so he opened the hailing frequencies to the Soteria...
And if Commander Eastman's tone had frightened him before, that near-whisper froze the blood solid in his veins! He knew she was not the kind of officer most would see at the ragged edge of nowhere, and he'd learned she had more steel in her spine than most would have credited her at first glance, more than he had initially credited her with, for that matter. But this, this was new and he found himself briefly praying he would never be on the receiving end of!

[PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Plaza Level]Bav seemed to have a stroke of rather good luck. He noticed Major Chromar duck into a tea store while Kaya appeared to have found someone else to bother. He confidently strode into the tea store and took a seat opposite the Romulan. Most people feared the Tal Shiar, but not Bav. He'd encountered worse people before. The Tal Shiar instilled fear simply because that was their enduring reputation. The war was devasting for the Tal Shiar, far too many of their ships and agents were lost in that foolish endeavour with the Cardassians. "Major Chromar. I'm sure you know who I am. Bav Th'cherreq. Intelligence," he introduced himself. "I have a proposal for you." [NPC - Major Chromar - Plaza Levels, Starbase Sigma-4] Almost as if on cue, the Andorian made his way into the tea shop. Chromar had to admit, he almost hadn't expected the Andorian to be this bold. However, they were much more direct than their human counterparts. Chromar raised his cup of tea to his lips. As he sipped the deka tea, he couldn't help but realize that he would have preferred the company of a different Starfleet officer. A gold uniform yes, but hair just as golden. As he set the cup of tea down, he finally stared across the table. "This proposal... is it Harmon's or is it yours?" It couldn't hurt to ask. Was this just another smokescreen of Harmon's to see if Chromar would take the bite? It was one thing to entice Starfleet officers to join the Nyberrite Alliance. However, Intelligence officers... well, that seemed to come with some risk. Though Chromar was guarded enough not to react too rashly.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Battle Bridge, USS Mac]Lieutenant Niles hadn't stress-tested the fighters, as he had been told to. Judy wouldn't have minded if he had just told her that it wasn't practicable, in fact, she would have accepted it readily; to be have her order ignored was something else. It was disappointing. However, she wasn't going to address that now, nor K'Dex's skill, because enough was enough. This was cheating, which Judy could certainly not approve of, but it was also dangerous; just a small misstep and Dr. Baker could've been fused into that weapons locker. People could've been killed. Inside, Judy was seeing red. There was the possibility that this was all a freak accident, but Judy felt it so improbable as to discount for now. And even if it was so, that was still a danger to life or limb. "Ladies and gentlemen, this mishegoss ends right here and right now," she declared, in a voice that, while calm by anyone else's standards, was as much anger as any of the crew had seen from the XO. "Miss Aravis, take us safely away from the Soteria. Mr. Niles, disengage the simulation, dispatch security to... crew quarters K12, and update Harmon. Mr. K'Dex, keep transporters offline," she ordered. "And let's open a hailing frequency to the Soteria."Judy took a deep breath. [ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - Crew Quarters - USS Mac] The last transport was so successful that Robyn decided to go for one more. She hunted around, looking for someone to grab and decided on another person in sickbay; they really were superfluous on this mission. But when she tapped the control, nothing happened. Whoops, time to move! She was locked out. Hopefully she had time to clear the area before security arrived. Robyn scrambled from behind the sofa and ran for the nearest Jefferies tube access. She dove inside, pulling the hatch shut behind her and started crawling rapidly, hoping to get somewhere a little populated so that her lifesigns wouldn't stand out. She was only a dozen meters or so along when she ran face-first into a force field. Sh-t! They were fast. She started back, hoping to beat security to the corridor.

She and Mabel apparently hadn't been the only victims. It seemed they had snatched Doctor Neme from Sickbay as well. Quinn moved to turn his attention back to exercises at hand, when Commander Eastman called it off. There was something about the woman's tone that indicated that she was upset. It wasn't anger or fury, simply something maternal that made no one want to question the order. Isaiah turned his attention to his sensors. "It looks like the Soteria's fighters are standing down," he reported as Lt. Avaris put a little distance between the two vessels. Commander Eastman had a comm open and spoke to the Soteria wondering if they wished to forward an explanation about the 'technical issues' they had been experiencing. With the games over, there was certainly a lot of intrigue in how the rest of this would all play out.

[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] The shields around the starboard nacelles were almost down Another volley could likely do it. However, Vasser wasn't about to bring the Soteria any closer. She could have the fighters feint, and if they dumped their torpedoes, they could possibly have enough to knock down the shields in that area. Howewver, that didn't happen as junior officer at ops announced that the Mac was disengaging. Vasser raised her screen and could see that the simulation's telemetry had ceased, cut off by the Mac. Confused, Vasser gave an order of her own. "Do the same," she stated. The last thing she had expected was for the Mac to tap out. She was confident that the Soteria had surprised them, but into submission, surely not. It was only a matter of seconds before the communications officer alerted her that the Mac was hailing them. At the same time, Captain Mauroos had commed in for orders. "Stand down, Captain and return to the Soteria." With the orders given, Vasser then nodded at her communications officer to open the channel. =0= "Judy, is everything all right?" =0= There was a pause and allowed the Mac's commander to elaborate on the reason for the stoppage. As she mentioned technical issues, Vasser's brow furrowed. Of course it also sounded as if she were looking to Vasser for an explanation. Surely a few blinking lights and doors opening hadn't warranted this. "Would you care to elaborate on those issues?" she asked, not prepared to admit to anything. Afer all, Banks was still aboard. And if there was a chance to pluck her lieutenant back to safety, she intended to do just that. Vasser paused, wondering if she'd get more of an explaation than she had.

[Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Engineering, USS Mac]Mabel's eyes seemed to pop when the software gave its result. "I know who that is!" she exclaimed. "She was the first person we had dishonorably discharged. She beamed that plant around the station on our first day here, and she's with the Nyberrites now. This makes sense!"It made all the sense in the world, in fact. It also clarified why this was happening. =A= "Henriksen to the battle bridge. We think Robyn Banks is responsible for this. She's with the Nyberrites, but she's former Starfleet," =A= she reported excitedly back up to Judy, but the comm system would make it audible throughout the battle bridge. Unbeknownst to Mabel, that included Vasser over the Comm.

It was when she was moping past a tea shop that she thought she saw Avi again. Kaya sucked in a breath and stepped quickly back. Then, slowly, she looked again. The flash of blue wasn't Aiv, but Bav. He was with a striking-looking Romulan who, from the look of his uniform, was no Lieutenant Neema. Kaya looked over her shoulder out at the Plaza. She'd left her uniform jacket and combadge on her chair at Kirby's but neither she nor Bav were out of bounds. Something just didn't feel right. So she shifted her stance a little to look more casual, but kept an eye on what was going on in the tea shop. Isaiah Quinn (Chromar), Matthew Harmon (Bav)

Once the frequency was open, she delivered a clear message. =A= "We've been having very unusual technical issues, so we have to end the simulation," =A= she spoke, in an uncharacteristically ice-cold manner. The grandmotherly warmth was gone, and so was the old-fashioned civilian courtesy. This near-whisper was one that Judy's children knew to fear more than any scream. =A= "If you know anything about it, it's best that I learn it from you." =A=
Tag Isaiah Quinn , K'Dex , Ozu Saya , Joshua Niles . Soft Thea Baker [Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex turned sharply at the voice declaring an end. Shortly barked orders left him with managing the cleared out simulation screens, and monitoring the true progress of the ship. There was some minor damage to the starboard deflectors, but nothing undue. Could probably fix remotely, but that wasn't the point just now. His ears flipped back unconsciously, pulled tight against his head, as he heard the voice of a cold predator. K'Dex felt the hair on his neck bristle slightly in discomfort, and he swirled one eye to consider the Commander. She was taking the whole situation much harder than he had thought the situation warranted. Granted, he'd just a minute ago been overwhelmed with commands and situations, and still had no concept of what was happening in Engineering, but this... He wasn't quite sure what it was that pushed her over the edge. More than likely, just the concept of a saboteur on board he supposed. With his background, he was used to wrenches in the works, and quickly trying to overcome them rather than consider how dangerous they could be. Putting out fires, as it were. K'Dex changed to the Main Engineering monitoring screen, and saw that there's were apparently being put in order, though he wondered at a partially warped panel covering that the engineers had set aside. Blinking a few times in confusion, it settling his nerves slightly, he passed by it. Considering the cancellation of the simulation, but still the danger, he went ahead and disabled all cargo transporter systems as well. He checked that the power grid and ODN lines near K-12 quarters were still functioning, comforted by the systems showing fully operational. Considering his current duties at hand accomplished, he leaned upward a little, glancing between the view screen and the commander, waiting for the next actions about to come.

[ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]The one fighter that was caught in his sights had no hope of resisting the amount of energy that had been pumped into it, or at least so the simulation had deemed and its icon disappeared from the plot that took up much of his console.
[ Lt. jg. Aravis - USS Mac - Battle Bridge] Aravis was quite willing to try out K'Dex's suggestion, and was a little disappointed to be ordered to disengage instead, but she immediately entered the command. Reversing at one-quarter impulse, Commander. Unless the fighters stay with us, we'll be clear in ten seconds.Hopefully, she'd have another chance to try out the engineer's suggestion. She'd have to see if he'd be willing to meet up and do a simulation after returning to the station. [Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] It was a relief to hear Thea's voice over the comms, and even more of a relief to see her returned to the Battle Bridge unharmed.
[Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex turned sharply at the voice declaring an end. Shortly barked orders left him with managing the cleared out simulation screens, and monitoring the true progress of the ship. Mabel Henriksen - Engineering, USS Mac] "Henriksen to the battle bridge. We think Robyn Banks is responsible for this. She's with the Nyberrites, but she's former Starfleet." [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Battle Bridge, USS Mac]Judy sighed gently at Vasser's clear evasion. She could just hear the guilt, even arrogance, in it. Before she could respond with an appropriately displeased formulation, Mabel came in with her report. For just an instant, a little twinkle crossed her bespectacled eyes; she knew exactly how to play this card. "Robyn Banks," Judy repeated, still in the same whisper. "You and I are going to have a talk later, young lady, so you should think about what you have to say. Mac out."Judy adjusted her glasses, and then stood up. "Keep our shields up. Ms. Banks will be staying in our custody," she ordered, a little kindness returning to her voice as she addressed her crew once more. She walked to the replicator in the back of the bridge, and replicated a decaf espresso. "This can be a teachable moment," she addressed the crew, more and more of her usual manner seeping back in as she carried the drink back to her chair. "I made the mistake of being too trusting. I misread Vasser; I thought she had more integrity and more good sense than she does. As a result, some of you could have been killed. At least now we know that we have to be wary."Judy's choice of pronouns was very deliberate: " I made a mistake." She was not going to run away from the responsibility for this. The buck stopped with her. "What do you all think?"

[Unknown Weapons Locker to Battle Bridge - USS Mac] For a brief moment panic began to set in again as Thea hoped that Comms hadn't been tampered with, before the creeping realisation of possible suffocation took over. Thea knew that is was likely her mind playing tricks on her but at the same time, she couldn't ignore the feeling of being trapped. Of course there was the possibility that this particular experience would come back to haunt her in her dreams and it was easy to develop a fear of dark enclosed spaces after this. A shudder went down her spine at the thought of it and tried to focus on something more positive and that's when the image of Isaiah popped into her head, before the sound of the transporter beam took hold and returned her to the Battle Bridge. It appeared that in the time that she had been gone, everything had gotten louder or maybe it was just her after being alone with her thoughts in the dark with weapons for company. That's until the initial shock of returning wore off and the CMO listened to what was going on. There was a quick glance towards Isaiah of reassurance, before she understood that the simulation was over and it wasn't just because of her and Mabel's abrupt disappearances. Retaking the auxilary station that she had been sat at, Thea realised that she hadn't seen Judy that kind of angry before as she initiated a call with Vasser. Listening as the Colonel effectively denied any wrong doing, before the Mac crew identified the culprit who had been messing with the ship and the comm was ended. The name was familiar to Thea and couldn't help but wonder what Vasser's motives had been for sending Banks to cause chaos rather than stick to the rules of the game. This latest development would of course have ramifications and yet hadn't Isaiah mentioned something like this, about not underestimating Vasser and being cautious. Whatever the outcome, there would likely be some mistrust going forward and it would be interesting in hearing what Banks had to say as well. When Judy then addressed the crew after helping herself to a drink, Thea could hear that her voice was returning to what they were familiar with as the XO conceded that this would be something to learn from and why. Thea was also keenly aware that she could of been one of the people Judy had mentioned about being killed and was definitely lucky to still be alive. So when she then asked what they all thought, Thea pondered the question for a few seconds then spoke up. " After this, I think we have every right to be more wary and cautious, the actions of Banks and by extension Vasser, could of been life threatening, which isn't something you want if we're to establish a working relationship with the Alliance. It is a lesson to be learned and hopefully not just for us".

Tag: Matthew Harmon (Bav) [PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Plaza Level] The Major didn't seem at all surprised or concerned by Bav's appearance. He wondered if that was genuine, if the Romulan was waiting for him, or perhaps he was simply a man who didn't like to react with too much emotion or betray his thoughts. Clearly, and unsurprisingly Chromar seemed to recognise Bav, in any case.
"The bastard thinks I'm just snooping around," he said, shaking his head. "He would not be pleased by my meeting you," but screw him, Harmon was completely insufferable. "Thing is, I'm not happy with my retirement plan," he leaned back in his chair and put his feet up. "Starfleet is too stingy for my likings. I've worked hard, I think I deserve to retire comfortably. Live my life on a Risan resort or something. And I figure, if Starfleet won't give it to me, that's on them," he explained. "So, my proposal is that I'll sell whatever you want. I'll give you the information you need, I'll spy on him for you, whatever you want. So long as you pay me enough. It'll be quite a mutually beneficial arrangement."

[Matthew Harmon - Engineering -> Crew Quarters]
Mabel recognised the name, which was good. Harmon wondered why he hadn't. Perhaps it was the gin. As Mabel reported their findings to the Commander, Niles contacted him with her apparently location. He stood up and beckoned to two of the security officers present, leaving a few to continue guarding Engineering just in case. "Well done, Mabel. She's in quarters K12," he said before leading the way.
Soon they arrived at the quarters in question, a few other Security crewmen having joined. They took position by the door and prepared to enter. On Harmon's signal they overrode the door's security system and entered coming just about face to face with her as she appeared to be attempting a getawy. "Hands in the air!" Security ordered. "Ms Banks. You're under arrest." Harmon had know the Nyberrite's were trouble and that it was dangerous to enter such a partnership with them. But the commander hadn't listened to his advice, and he was proven right again. Not that he liked being right all the time in cases where he'd rather have been wrong. Well, even then he did tend to still get some satisfaction.
