[Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Engineering, USS Mac]Mabel's eyes seemed to pop when the software gave its result. "I know who that is!" she exclaimed. "She was the first person we had dishonorably discharged. She beamed that plant around the station on our first day here, and she's with the Nyberrites now. This makes sense!"It made all the sense in the world, in fact. It also clarified why this was happening. =A= "Henriksen to the battle bridge. We think Robyn Banks is responsible for this. She's with the Nyberrites, but she's former Starfleet," =A= she reported excitedly back up to Judy, but the comm system would make it audible throughout the battle bridge. Unbeknownst to Mabel, that included Vasser over the Comm. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Battle Bridge, USS Mac]Judy sighed gently at Vasser's clear evasion. She could just hear the guilt, even arrogance, in it. Before she could respond with an appropriately displeased formulation, Mabel came in with her report. For just an instant, a little twinkle crossed her bespectacled eyes; she knew exactly how to play this card. "Robyn Banks," Judy repeated, still in the same whisper. "You and I are going to have a talk later, young lady, so you should think about what you have to say. Mac out."Judy adjusted her glasses, and then stood up. "Keep our shields up. Ms. Banks will be staying in our custody," she ordered, a little kindness returning to her voice as she addressed her crew once more. She walked to the replicator in the back of the bridge, and replicated a decaf espresso. "This can be a teachable moment," she addressed the crew, more and more of her usual manner seeping back in as she carried the drink back to her chair. "I made the mistake of being too trusting. I misread Vasser; I thought she had more integrity and more good sense than she does. As a result, some of you could have been killed. At least now we know that we have to be wary."Judy's choice of pronouns was very deliberate: " I made a mistake." She was not going to run away from the responsibility for this. The buck stopped with her. "What do you all think?" [...] " After this, I think we have every right to be more wary and cautious, the actions of Banks and by extension Vasser, could of been life threatening, which isn't something you want if we're to establish a working relationship with the Alliance. It is a lesson to be learned and hopefully not just for us".[Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] As Isaiah stood there, watching his former commander upon the viewscreen, there was a part of him waiting for the denial, that she knew nothing about it. Yet, it was because he knew the woman that he knew not to expect it. Even if she were responsible, she wouldn't compromise a member of her crew just to save face. He was also having a difficult time believing that she would have given an order that would actually jeopardize the lives of anyone engaged in this exercise. As the name of the culprit was revealed, it was quickly obvious that the one chance for Vasser to admit to anything had passed as Eastman promptly ended the transmission. Commander Eastman had stated that she had been too trusting. There were some other remarks that questioned the integrity and overall good sense of his former commander. Still, she was right, it was a teachable moment. Isaiah could only imagine how most of the officers would weigh in as the commander asked them all what they thought. Thea was among the first to speak, and stated a position of caution where the Alliance was concerned. A long sigh left his lips. He certainly respected her position, especially considering she had fallen victim to what Banks had pulled. Though, he wasn't entirely sure that he agreed with everything that had been said thus far. "I agree that what Banks did was dangerous," Isaiah said from his station. "And there is clearly some tension that that needs to be resolved. However, I don't think it's fair to be so quick to condemn the entire Alliance on the actions of a single person. Banks has done this very thing before, and she was wearing our uniform when she did. It doesn't mean that she did so on Colonel Vasser's orders this time." Isaiah's eyes drifted towards Thea, as it seemed they were on opposite sides of this particular issue. It wouldn't surprise him if this warranted a longer discussion between the two of them later on. "I'm merely saying that I think we need to look at all the evidence before making any drastic decisions."

[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] Judy didn't feel inclined to share details on exactly what had happened, but Vasser had her suspicions. The primary one was confirmed when she heard Mabel's voice over the com identify that Robyn had been responsible for whatever had happened. There weren't any details, but Judy... or rather Commander Eastman made it clear that they would be having a discussion. It had certainly been a while that she'd found herself addressed as young lady. In many ways, it came off as a bit of a dressing down, and in front of her crew no less. Before Vasser could respond the screen went blank. Vasser's face betrayed no sort of reaction to the abrupt ending, but the last thing she was going to do was retreat in a corner and tear up. "Helm, take us back to Sigma-4," Vasser ordered. "We have a member of our crew to collect. Proceed as soon as we have all hands aboard." Vasser turned to her communications officer. "Contact Starbase Sigma-4. Tell them we will require a negotiator. And make certain they pack for the trip." Vasser was quite certain that Eastman would play this all by the book. She would drag this out, which meant doing this on her turf. Vasser knew that she had a report to prepare. One to bring the negotiator up to speed, and one for her superiors. In the big picture, this was a little dust up which would have consequences, but more than likely nothing dire. One thing was certain, Vasser had no intention of shirking responsibility. Ultimately, it was Vasser's permission that had landed Banks in this situation. If that meant it was her head that landed on the chopping block, then so be it. She wasn't going to stand by and allow a member of her crew bear the brunt of the punishment if there was something she could do about it. "Ops. Collect reports from the exercise from all departments and get that information to me immediately," Vasser ordered. She leaned back in her chair and began scripting the outline of her report upon her padd, as she waited for the last of the fighters to dock so that they could get underway.

[ PO2 Kaya Som | Plaza, outside the tea shop ]Kaya had some notion she ought to get back to S'Riia as not leave her alone with a member of a telepathic species, but the shock of seeing Avi and her strange reaction had her feeling a way, so Kaya found herself wandering, her mind buzzing with conspiracies. It was when she was moping past a tea shop that she thought she saw Avi again. Kaya sucked in a breath and stepped quickly back. Then, slowly, she looked again. The flash of blue wasn't Aiv, but Bav. He was with a striking-looking Romulan who, from the look of his uniform, was no Lieutenant Neema. Kaya looked over her shoulder out at the Plaza. She'd left her uniform jacket and combadge on her chair at Kirby's but neither she nor Bav were out of bounds. Something just didn't feel right. So she shifted her stance a little to look more casual, but kept an eye on what was going on in the tea shop. [PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Plaza Level] The Major didn't seem at all surprised or concerned by Bav's appearance. He wondered if that was genuine, if the Romulan was waiting for him, or perhaps he was simply a man who didn't like to react with too much emotion or betray his thoughts. Clearly, and unsurprisingly Chromar seemed to recognise Bav, in any case.
"The bastard thinks I'm just snooping around," he said, shaking his head. "He would not be pleased by my meeting you," but screw him, Harmon was completely insufferable. "Thing is, I'm not happy with my retirement plan," he leaned back in his chair and put his feet up. "Starfleet is too stingy for my likings. I've worked hard, I think I deserve to retire comfortably. Live my life on a Risan resort or something. And I figure, if Starfleet won't give it to me, that's on them," he explained. "So, my proposal is that I'll sell whatever you want. I'll give you the information you need, I'll spy on him for you, whatever you want. So long as you pay me enough. It'll be quite a mutually beneficial arrangement." [NPC - Major Chromar - Plaza Levels, Starbase Sigma-4] Major Chromar took a deep breath as he sat opposite the Andorian. He arched his eyebrow as he sat there listening. He then took a moment to reflect upon the Andorian's words, making no attempt to rush to a decision. He even sipped from his cup of deka tea once again. "I'm sorry, where are my manners. Would you care for a cup?" He lifted a finger to gesture for the server to bring over another cup. After a few moments, he set the cup down and looked over at the Andorian. "And why should this offer be of any interest to me?" Chromar asked. "First of all, you assume you're offering something I need. And if I were remotely interested, why exactly would I want to employ someone that would readily stab their employer in the back for a Risan bungalow?" Chromar lifted his cup of tea to his lips and took another suit. "Of course, if you're looking to join the Nyberrite Alliance, I'm sure we can find something for you. Have you spoken with any of our recruiters? Or perhaps one of our negotiators. They may be able to work out some sort of lateral move into an officer's position."Chromar was certain that Bav was hardly interested in anything he was offering at the moment. However, seeing how he'd react could prove just as valuable. After all, no one ever really knew when or if they had an audience.

[ Lt. jg. Aravis - USS Mac - Battle Bridge] Aravis was quite willing to try out K'Dex's suggestion, and was a little disappointed to be ordered to disengage instead, but she immediately entered the command. Reversing at one-quarter impulse, Commander. Unless the fighters stay with us, we'll be clear in ten seconds.Hopefully, she'd have another chance to try out the engineer's suggestion. She'd have to see if he'd be willing to meet up and do a simulation after returning to the station. [Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] It was a relief to hear Thea's voice over the comms, and even more of a relief to see her returned to the Battle Bridge unharmed. She and Mabel apparently hadn't been the only victims. It seemed they had snatched Doctor Neme from Sickbay as well. Quinn moved to turn his attention back to exercises at hand, when Commander Eastman called it off. There was something about the woman's tone that indicated that she was upset. It wasn't anger or fury, simply something maternal that made no one want to question the order. Isaiah turned his attention to his sensors. "It looks like the Soteria's fighters are standing down," he reported as Lt. Avaris put a little distance between the two vessels. Commander Eastman had a comm open and spoke to the Soteria wondering if they wished to forward an explanation about the 'technical issues' they had been experiencing. With the games over, there was certainly a lot of intrigue in how the rest of this would all play out.
[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] The shields around the starboard nacelles were almost down Another volley could likely do it. However, Vasser wasn't about to bring the Soteria any closer. She could have the fighters feint, and if they dumped their torpedoes, they could possibly have enough to knock down the shields in that area. Howewver, that didn't happen as junior officer at ops announced that the Mac was disengaging. Vasser raised her screen and could see that the simulation's telemetry had ceased, cut off by the Mac. Confused, Vasser gave an order of her own. "Do the same," she stated. The last thing she had expected was for the Mac to tap out. She was confident that the Soteria had surprised them, but into submission, surely not. It was only a matter of seconds before the communications officer alerted her that the Mac was hailing them. At the same time, Captain Mauroos had commed in for orders. "Stand down, Captain and return to the Soteria." With the orders given, Vasser then nodded at her communications officer to open the channel. =0= "Judy, is everything all right?" =0= There was a pause and allowed the Mac's commander to elaborate on the reason for the stoppage. As she mentioned technical issues, Vasser's brow furrowed. Of course it also sounded as if she were looking to Vasser for an explanation. Surely a few blinking lights and doors opening hadn't warranted this. "Would you care to elaborate on those issues?" she asked, not prepared to admit to anything. Afer all, Banks was still aboard. And if there was a chance to pluck her lieutenant back to safety, she intended to do just that. Vasser paused, wondering if she'd get more of an explaation than she had.
[NPC - Captain Mauroos - Owl-1] =0= "Acknowledged, Soteria. We're coming home," =0= said the squadron's commander. =0= "You heard the colonel. Let's bring 'em home." =0= The native Nyberrite stared after the Mac a moment longer, a slight smile upon his face. He had been more than impressed by the helmsman during the exercise. He almost felt guilty for putting her through the paces, but after seeing how she handled that Sovereign-class vessel.... "I think I'm in love," he remarked to himself, despite never having laid an eye on the Mac's helmsman. [Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex turned sharply at the voice declaring an end. Shortly barked orders left him with managing the cleared out simulation screens, and monitoring the true progress of the ship. There was some minor damage to the starboard deflectors, but nothing undue. Could probably fix remotely, but that wasn't the point just now. His ears flipped back unconsciously, pulled tight against his head, as he heard the voice of a cold predator. K'Dex felt the hair on his neck bristle slightly in discomfort, and he swirled one eye to consider the Commander. She was taking the whole situation much harder than he had thought the situation warranted. Granted, he'd just a minute ago been overwhelmed with commands and situations, and still had no concept of what was happening in Engineering, but this... He wasn't quite sure what it was that pushed her over the edge. More than likely, just the concept of a saboteur on board he supposed. With his background, he was used to wrenches in the works, and quickly trying to overcome them rather than consider how dangerous they could be. Putting out fires, as it were. K'Dex changed to the Main Engineering monitoring screen, and saw that there's were apparently being put in order, though he wondered at a partially warped panel covering that the engineers had set aside. Blinking a few times in confusion, it settling his nerves slightly, he passed by it. Considering the cancellation of the simulation, but still the danger, he went ahead and disabled all cargo transporter systems as well. He checked that the power grid and ODN lines near K-12 quarters were still functioning, comforted by the systems showing fully operational. Considering his current duties at hand accomplished, he leaned upward a little, glancing between the view screen and the commander, waiting for the next actions about to come. At least now we know that we have to be wary."Judy's choice of pronouns was very deliberate: " I made a mistake." She was not going to run away from the responsibility for this. The buck stopped with her. "What do you all think?" [Unknown Weapons Locker to Battle Bridge - USS Mac] For a brief moment panic began to set in again as Thea hoped that Comms hadn't been tampered with, before the creeping realisation of possible suffocation took over. Thea knew that is was likely her mind playing tricks on her but at the same time, she couldn't ignore the feeling of being trapped. Of course there was the possibility that this particular experience would come back to haunt her in her dreams and it was easy to develop a fear of dark enclosed spaces after this. A shudder went down her spine at the thought of it and tried to focus on something more positive and that's when the image of Isaiah popped into her head, before the sound of the transporter beam took hold and returned her to the Battle Bridge. It appeared that in the time that she had been gone, everything had gotten louder or maybe it was just her after being alone with her thoughts in the dark with weapons for company. That's until the initial shock of returning wore off and the CMO listened to what was going on. There was a quick glance towards Isaiah of reassurance, before she understood that the simulation was over and it wasn't just because of her and Mabel's abrupt disappearances. Retaking the auxilary station that she had been sat at, Thea realised that she hadn't seen Judy that kind of angry before as she initiated a call with Vasser. Listening as the Colonel effectively denied any wrong doing, before the Mac crew identified the culprit who had been messing with the ship and the comm was ended. The name was familiar to Thea and couldn't help but wonder what Vasser's motives had been for sending Banks to cause chaos rather than stick to the rules of the game. This latest development would of course have ramifications and yet hadn't Isaiah mentioned something like this, about not underestimating Vasser and being cautious. Whatever the outcome, there would likely be some mistrust going forward and it would be interesting in hearing what Banks had to say as well. When Judy then addressed the crew after helping herself to a drink, Thea could hear that her voice was returning to what they were familiar with as the XO conceded that this would be something to learn from and why. Thea was also keenly aware that she could of been one of the people Judy had mentioned about being killed and was definitely lucky to still be alive. So when she then asked what they all thought, Thea pondered the question for a few seconds then spoke up. " After this, I think we have every right to be more wary and cautious, the actions of Banks and by extension Vasser, could of been life threatening, which isn't something you want if we're to establish a working relationship with the Alliance. It is a lesson to be learned and hopefully not just for us".[Lt. It wouldn't surprise him if this warranted a longer discussion between the two of them later on. "I'm merely saying that I think we need to look at all the evidence before making any drastic decisions." [ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]As the Mac broke contact with the Soteria and the fighters, Niles maintained the shields as ordered. In fact, he did not even stand down from Red Alert just yet. The situation was just a little tense still, and while he had no weapons lock on anything or anyone, it wouldn't take much to make it happen. Especially when they had a saboteur about to be taken into custody. However, that didn't mean he would keep his attention away from the fighters even as they returned towards their mothership. The conversation with Vasser that followed, that was most certainly tense all right. Of course, the Nybberite wasn't about to be admitting a fault, and Commander Eastman was as furious as he'd ever seen her even though she'd yet to raise her voice, but she fairly radiated anger. Anger and disappointment. And once she cut the line and turned to the Bridge crew for input, he listened to what first Doctor Baker and then Lieutenant Quinn, both of whom advocated a measured response to the incident; perhaps a little too measured in Niles' opinion. "Ma'am, I think Doctor Baker is right, we have to be careful. And even if we do have to work with the Nyberrite Alliance, we can't afford to really trust them either. With all respect to Lieutenant Quinn, it doesn't matter if Banks was acting alone or on orders from Vasser. A foreign government would blame Starfleet as a whole if one of our officers got caught red-handed sabotaging one of their ships, and they wouldn't make any distinctions between the officer in question acting independently or under orders. I don't think we can afford to do anything except pursue the matter to the fullest extent of every possible law and regulation. Not unless we want to tell the Nyberrites, and everyone else, that we, and by extension, all of Starfleet, will just let them get away with that sort of things."However, there was the matter of responsibility to be addressed. Commander Eastman was blaming herself over this matter, but a commanding officer could only make a call based on the information they were provided. Which meant that if a wrong call was made, it was not necessarily a result of bad judgement, it could be a result of bad information with which to make that call; which also meant it could be the fault of their subordinates. Of course, Starfleet always said it was whoever was calling the shots who would be in the hot seat first when tough questions would be asked. But that didn't mean subordinates wouldn't be second-guessing themselves over it either. "Ma'am, you're not the only one who dropped the ball here. We all underestimated just how willing, and how ruthless they were willing to get. I thought the security measures I suggested would have been enough, they weren't. And now, we have personnel on that station that we need to recover, and I would strongly against docking with them again, or even get within transporter range. We should recover them by shuttle, preferably remotely controlled."

Tags Judith Eastman Isaiah Quinn Ozu Saya (Aravis) K'Dex Thea Baker [Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex let his ears perk forward again, more comfortable with the settling of everyone elses nerves. "I will state, there was little danger of the transports in my opinion, but I'm more comfortable with the transporter system than most. Using the internal transporters means they have all of our safety settings, including scanning a clear area for transport each time. With that said" K'Dex raised a paw to finish, knowing that his thoughts would not be shared by the commander, let alone most of the others. "With that said, I do disagree with having saboteurs during a training sim, unless the option was broached beforehand. I still don't have a clear idea of what happened in Engineering, but it seems to have been harmless. I don't like that someone was able to get in there though, and have more access than they did. I'll have more details once I examine it myself. As far as retrieving our crew, I would rather the shuttle be piloted. Considering how knowledgeable of our technology they are, I'd rather someone had eyes on the shuttle the whole time. If we're feeling quite defensive, I feel more than confident in transporting our crew from a shuttle, and not having it near the station at all." K'Dex wasn't quite sure how opinions were faring towards him at this moment, as he felt that the transporters being used in such a way was on him, let alone the chaos of whatever had happened in Engineering. It was part of his specialty, and he didn't bother to lock them out completely for the sake of convenience. Perhaps he just wasn't seeing this in as dangerous of a way as everyone else, and he should be. Either way, the paperwork after this of his analysis and failures would not be pleasant. Speaking of that, he'd need to make personal apologies to the transported persons... Quite an unpleasant evening in store.

[Matthew Harmon - Engineering -> Crew Quarters]
Mabel recognised the name, which was good. Harmon wondered why he hadn't. Perhaps it was the gin. As Mabel reported their findings to the Commander, Niles contacted him with her apparently location. He stood up and beckoned to two of the security officers present, leaving a few to continue guarding Engineering just in case. "Well done, Mabel. She's in quarters K12," he said before leading the way.
Soon they arrived at the quarters in question, a few other Security crewmen having joined. They took position by the door and prepared to enter. On Harmon's signal they overrode the door's security system and entered coming just about face to face with her as she appeared to be attempting a getawy. "Hands in the air!" Security ordered. "Ms Banks. You're under arrest." Harmon had know the Nyberrite's were trouble and that it was dangerous to enter such a partnership with them. But the commander hadn't listened to his advice, and he was proven right again. Not that he liked being right all the time in cases where he'd rather have been wrong. Well, even then he did tend to still get some satisfaction. [NPC - Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Engineering -> Crew Quarters K-12]"Right after you, sir," Mabel affirmed, and followed Harmon dutifully to make the arrest. She stood back behind Harmon, letting him have the spotlight, but couldn't resist flexing a little rhetorical muscle. After spending the better part of a year as Judy's assistant, almost shadow, Mabel thought she could ply some guilt muscles. "Your little prank could've ended with me fused into a table. How do you feel about that?" she asked, with hints of Commander Eastman's quiet tone and weak R's cutting into the young woman's bubbly Midwestern speech.

She closed her eyes and released a long sigh, raising her hands as she straightened. She wasn't armed, just had her satchel slung across her chest. She gave Mabel a wry twist of her lips, debating whether it would be damaging to tell the idiot that she wasn't in any danger. I'd like counsel, please, was all she said after a long pause. Better to play it safe and deny culpability until she could get the lay of the land.

[Unknown Weapons Locker to Battle Bridge - USS Mac] For a brief moment panic began to set in again as Thea hoped that Comms hadn't been tampered with, before the creeping realisation of possible suffocation took over.
[ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]As the Mac broke contact with the Soteria and the fighters, Niles maintained the shields as ordered.
"What do you all think?" But that didn't mean subordinates wouldn't be second-guessing themselves over it either.

Tags Battle Bridge Judith Eastman Ozu Saya Joshua Niles Isaiah Quinn Thea Baker [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Battle Bridge, USS Mac]Judy settled in her chair once again and listened. There were diverse opinions on her bridge, and she liked that. She thought a few of them were naïve, but she liked that. "Mr. Niles, the first rule of command is that the buck stops here. I delegate, because I trust all of you, but at the end of the day, every operation is my responsibility. We all should look to ourselves to how we might have done better, but as the officer in charge here, the buck stops with me. If Banks had managed to beam someone heavier-set into that weapons locker, the condolence calls would have been mine to make. That's how it is," she first addressed the matter of responsibility with a calm tone, seeking to educate her junior crew about these principles. Especially for those of them who had eyes for command, as she knew Joshua Niles to have, it was an important lesson. "More saliently, gentlemen, you're right, we do need to be careful, but we also don't want to humiliate our crew as they leave. Let's send the Captain's Yacht, with everything but its navigational computer in a diagnostic," she responded materially to K'Dex and Niles. "Ms. Aravis, why don't you take point on that?"Judy took a long sip of her decaf, relishing the caffeinated goodness. "Mr. Quinn, you're absolutely right that it would be reckless and wrong to blame the entire Nyberrite Alliance. That being said, I know, from my kids, the tone that Ms. Vasser took with us. It's the attitude of someone who's very proud of something they just did that was wrong, and who thinks they're going to get away with it," Judy assessed, drawing on her rich experience as a mother of four. "We shouldn't blame the entire outfit, and we needn't be hasty, but I'll eat my glasses if Vasser didn't sign off on the infiltration."She took off said glasses and began to gently clean the large lenses. "I don't know whether Vasser signed off on every dangerous detail, but she's shown this lack of moral scruples, and we can't afford to overlook that when we get back home, either," she added. Judy wanted to make her own perspectives heard, but not to smother the conversation. She sought not to charge headfirst at any perspective, but to build constructively.

[Battle Bridge - USS Mac] Thea wasn't completely naive when it came to discussions such as the one that they were currently having due to the circumstances they now found themselves in. For what should of been a fair simulation had turned into something else and of course everyone would have a different take on it. So when Isaiah caught her gaze as he spoke, Thea could see his point but at the same time understood that they wouldn't always agree and have the kind of discussion that wasn't all lovey dovey and positive. This was what a relationship was like and it wasn't always perfect like the holo movies. That didn't mean that she loved him any less just because of what he thought and vice versa because yes Banks had a history of this kind of behaviour, but regardless if she was acting on her own volition or not, then Vasser had some responsibility for her actions, even if she appeared to deny it. Just like Judy and she would if had been one of their officers causing chaos. In fact the Doctor could see this becoming a potential and proverbially minefield and not just how they handled the Banks situation but also how they dealt with the Alliance going forward. Yes they couldn't tar them all with the same brush, but damage had been done because of one person's actions. It was Niles who spoke next and whilst she hadn't expected anyone to agree with some of what she had said. The Tactical officer also shared some of her own thoughts about how this would of looked if it had been a Fleet officer who had done this. Then as the conversation turned to their own culpability and how it wasn't Judy who had dropped the ball so to speak and recommendations as to recover their people from Sigma 4. Thea listened as K'Dex then added his own thoughts, about the Transporters, the saboteur and recovering the crew. Whilst she took some comfort that she wasn't in any real danger, there was some lingering anger aimed at Banks for doing it and if anything she needed some time away, when duty allowed to just not think and recover from it all. But until then, she needed to be present as Judy then answered them all. Putting it into perspective from her point of view and how this wasn't the end of it either. " I know that this isn't the end of this matter and that we'll need to investigate fully. Might I suggest we start that now as we prepare to recover our crew and question Miss Banks and perhaps return to the normal Bridge, now that the simulation is over".Thea knew that they could talk and talk about this for hours perhaps days and that was likely to happen but they also needed answers if they were going to sit down with the Alliance to discuss this and decide how their relationship was going to work in the future.

[Unknown Weapons Locker to Battle Bridge - USS Mac] For a brief moment panic began to set in again as Thea hoped that Comms hadn't been tampered with, before the creeping realisation of possible suffocation took over.
[ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]As the Mac broke contact with the Soteria and the fighters, Niles maintained the shields as ordered.
[PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Plaza Level] "I'd have no motivation to stab you in the back. Starfleet can't offer me anything more than a pat on the back. Besides, I'm sure making an enemy of you would be unwise," he said before taking a sip of the tea the server had brought over. "I think you're well aware that I'm not interested in a 'lateral' transfer. And I'm sure you recognise my offer would be far more lucrative than simply having me join your ranks," he paused and took another sip. "You don't have to accept," he waved his hands dismissively, "Maybe you don't think you need me. Maybe I'm not work the risk, that's for you to decide. But we both know you won't get any assets close to the information I can easily access and give you." There wasn't a lot more he could say, really. They both knew what he could offer, it was simply a matter of if the Romulan felt the benefits outweighed the costs.
As that was said, he received a message from his commbadge signally that they were to apparently be picked up by the captains yacht. How very strange. "It seems I must go. I've made my offer, if you don't have an answer for me now I'm sure you're clever enough to figure out a way to contact me," he stood up and prepared to leave.

[ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - USS Mac] Robyn froze halfway out of the Jefferies tube hatch as security entered the empty crew quarters. [LCDR Matthew Harmon - USS Mac]Harmon would have laughed at Mabel channelling her inner Eastman, but knew that doing so would have diminished the seriousness of this situation and undermined Mabel's authority, which he did want to do. "You will have counsel provided for you or be allowed to select your own once we return to Front Ear and process you," he stated. "Cuff her and take her to the brig," he ordered the Security officers who moved towards Robyn to comply.

[NPC - Major Chromar - Plaza Levels, Starbase Sigma-4] The Andorian made a good argument, and he was doing his best not to sound desperate. Chromar for the most part simply listened, not being in a rush one way or another to make a decision. Did he need Bav? Certainly not, but he was intrigued by the offer. If only to find a way to subtly rub it all in Harmon's face. The Romulan was all too content to allow the Andorian to stew a bit longer when a communique came in recalling the Starfleet officers for extraction. It was far earlier than the exercise had been scheduled to end. Perhaps something was wrong. He'd make certain to look into it immediately. He didn't have to excuse himself as Bav had to make his own exit. He stated that if Chromar had an answer, he would be able to contact him. The former member of the Tal Shair simply took a deep breath, only replying, "Have a good day, Mr. ch'Therreq." Chromar then turned his attention to the more immediate concern revolving around the exercises that seemed to have come to an abrupt halt.
[NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Kirby's, Starbase Sigma 4] S'Riia had been just about to continue pressing Neema for answers, when she heard the communique from Lt. Aravis come from her comm badge. Her immediate concern came when she realized the time. The exercise should still have been underway. It made her wonder what had caused it to case this early. S'Riia then turned her eyes back towards Neema once more. "Next time, lead with that whole mind-reading thing," S'Riia said. She started to slide out of her seat when she noticed that Kaya's jacket was still draped over the chair she had vacated. The part Caitian took Kaya's jacket into her hand, and gave one final glare at Neema before leaving the junior negotiator alone at the table. The woman had risen from her seat, still showing manners, but it was obvious she was disappointed at the exodus of the entire table. That was hardly S'Riia's concern. As she stepped into the plaza, her eyes were searching about the many patrons. Her eyes then fell upon Kaya. "There you are!" S'Riia said moving towards the young Trill. "Here you go," she said handing the engineer her jacket, "We've been recalled to return to the Mac via transporter. I don't think that's a good sign." A long sigh left her furry lips as she studied Kaya, curious about where she had disappeared to. "Are you ready to go?" she asked. While S'Riia was eager to get back to the ship, she was still curious about what could have possibly kept Kaya away for so long. Surely, Bav wasn't a long-winded conversationalist, especially considering he wasn't anywhere in sight. S'Riia's hand hovered over her badge as she prepared to signal that they were ready for transport.

[ PO2 Kaya Som | Plaza, Sigma 4 ]Kaya watched in uneasy fascination as Bav carried on a conversation with a high-ranking member of the Nyberrite Alliance. What the hell was he doing? Kaya fully supported Bav's right to have a nice tea with whoever he wanted. She narrowed her gaze and leaned forward, unable to decode their posture with any certainty. Bav looked confident, but he always did. The other one, Chromar, looked about the same if not more indifferent. But the conversation abruptly ended. Rather than be caught watching, Kaya stuck her hands in her pockets and strolled away as casually as she could. S'Riia found her then with her jacket. "It hasn't even been an hour," Kaya answered quickly. "What the hell happened?" As she pulled on her jacket, she lowered her voice. "So Bav's apparently pals with a Nyberrite major. Believe that?" Kaya assumed transportation posture and shrugged. Just one of many odd things to happen today. Isaiah Quinn (S'Riia), Matthew Harmon (Bav)

[NPC - Major Chromar - Plaza Levels, Starbase Sigma-4] Major Chromar took a deep breath as he sat opposite the Andorian.

Tag: Isaiah Quinn , Kaya Som [Lt. jg. Aravis - Battle Bridge --> Captain's Yacht] Aravis blinked in surprise at being ordered to take out the captain's yacht...on her own. At least it showed that the commander still had confidence in her flying abilities. Yes, ma'am, the pilot said and quickly left the helm and headed for the yacht's berth. Shortly, she was departing the ship, with all systems locked into diagnostic mode, and approaching Sigma-4. She slowed to a stop just inside transporter range, the small vessel handling as smoothly as anything Aravis had ever flown. Aravis toggled the communication system and hailed the Starfleet officers aboard the station. =/\= Starfleet personnel, this is Lt. Aravis. I've been sent from the Mac in the captain's yacht to bring everyone back. Tag Matthew Harmon , Kaya Som , Isaiah Quinn and James Aubrey [ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - USS Mac] Robyn froze halfway out of the Jefferies tube hatch as security entered the empty crew quarters.
Tag: Judith Eastman , Ozu Saya [ 1st Lt. Robyn Banks - USS Mac] Robyn had one wild thought of trying to break away and run, but with a nervous swallow, submitted to being cuffed and followed the security officers to the brig. Hopefully, the fact that she'd come without a weapon and hadn't done any real harm would work in her favor. At least they couldn't kick her out of the service again.

[NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Kirby's, Starbase Sigma 4] As the words left Kaya's lips and fell upon S'Riia's ears, the security officer was under the impression that she had clearly misheard what Kaya said that she'd observed. Naturally, she wanted details. Granted, this was the sort of gossip that was best served behind closed doors, but they couldn't wait for that. Was it possible that Bav's cozying up to that Romulan Nyberrite had something to do with their abrupt departure. She shook the notion off, realizing quickly that the timing didn't gel. But why? He'd been such an ass to Neema. Perhaps that was simply a tactic to throw both Kaya and herself off his trail. And on top of that, what would Harmon say once he found out. The absurdity of it all hit S'Riia once again, as she tried to re-process everything. Bav? Possibly a traitor? He could be a ass, but a traitor. "Wait... what the f--" S'Riia began. However, the word never fully farmed as both she and Kaya disappeared in the beam of a Federation transporter. As S'Riia materialized, so did the the word she'd begun to utter in its entirety. She could feel a few looks upon her. Sadly, everyone other than Kaya didn't know the context. S'Riia cleared her throat. Rather than explain, she decided upon a cover. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to just blurt out everything about Bav without being certain. "Sorry. I was... really looking forward to visiting one of the boutiques." Hopefully, that explanation would do. S'Riia started to move towards the cockpit, having recognized Lieutenant Aravis' voice. "What happened out there?" Clearly something had happened, if one of their best helmsmen had been sent to collect them in the Captain's yacht.
