[Doctor Paawin Riyo ("Butch") - Front Ear Station]
Butch lifted his own glass in toast, but didn't vocalize the sentiment. He was too busy observing the two they had cornered against the bar. Oh, how they were so desperate to appear unaffected by their presence. That in itself was more rewarding than the alcohol he took a deep drink out of. And then immediately began choking on as Harmon referenced the young woman's mother in a way that could only imply that mother was the Commissioner. Well that would have been bloody well nice to know before they walked over here... Turning his head to the side as he coughed and cleared his throat, he quickly regained his composure, waiting for the barbs he was sure would be coming for his inability to contain his surprise. Harmon was definitely going to get a piece of his mind when this was all over. Leaving him in the dark about important information... letting him embarrass himself like that... Butch took another, far more careful, drink from his glass, deciding it safest to keep his mouth shut at this particular moment.

[2nd Lt Shavan Th’zhaar - Bridge, ISS Determined -> The Dancing Leprechaun] Shavan guided the ship in towards Front Ear station, while the Commissioner delegated tasks and formed the beginnings of a plan. Explosives this, Harmon that, at some point he stopped paying attention to the parts that didn’t involve him. Two hours later, with the Determined docked, there was little else for him to do on the bridge. Still, there were worse tasks to be assigned to than going to the bar, which likely would have been his first stop on the station regardless. And so he followed Mabel. Shavan didn’t much care for his escort, or her attempts to sound authoritative. He rolled his eyes, and pushed past her into the turbolift. “Of course, whatever you say, sweetheart.” he replied in a mocking tone. “Try to keep up.” Exiting the lift, he pushed quickly through the Promenade. Admittedly, an Andorian and the Comissioner’s daughter weren’t the most inconspicuous people around, if anyone recognized them, but there was little to be done about that. They arrived at the Dancing Leprechaun, a rather unimpressive establishment. Slipping inside, Shavan leaned against one corner of the bar, looking around to get a read of the room while waiting for the bartender. [ Seamus - The Dancing Leprechaun, Front Ear] His sources within the command deck had informed Seamus that both the Determined and the Phoenix had docked and now it was time for the Landlord to find out if Harmon would try to seek out the informant that had been feeding them valuable intel for the last couple of months. Of course he had kept his identity a secret as he wasn't some naïve first timer, thinking that they could bring down the Commissioner and her wannabes easily. No it took a lot of time and preparation and he wasn't about to fail, not when he had such a vested interest in Eastman's demise. So as he served drinks and continued being the genial host, he was constantly watching and waiting. However he wasn't completely surprised when the hybrid Th’zhaar walked in along with Eastman's adopted daughter Mabel. No this was to be expected as no doubt Eastman wanted to gather her own intelligence on the Rebellion and catch them out. That wasn't going to happen in his bar as he finished wiping down the surface, before throwing the towel over his shoulder and approached the pair. " Greetings and welcome to The Dancing Leprechaun, what can I get you both?". [NPC - 1st Lt. Mabel Eastman - The Dancing Leprechaun]Hardly as recognizable as her adoptive mother, Mabel was still known to those who had worked closely with, or sought dirt against, her mother, as well as those - such as Matt Harmon - whom she had caught in the act with her mother. For this reason, she was armed, with a disruptor pistol on her belt and others concealed. She looked between the bartender and the Andorian, and took charge. "We will have water, thank you," she ordered for the both of them, not intending to get drunk on the job or to be poisoned easily.

[ Ozu Saya - Cargo Bay - ISS Determined] They had opened the shuttlebay doors, so Saya had parked her small ship and collected her cargo in pouches from their many secret compartments all over the vessel. She'd negotiated the sale of several gems and some information (nothing useful to the immediate situation, she said with false regret), and learned of the plan to assassinate Matt Harmon. Her face had remained impassive throughout, the serious business tempering her usual snark, but internally she was wondering how she'd get word to Harmon to watch out. Then her bitchiness had offered her the 'opportunity' to help get a bomb aboard Harmon's ship, and Saya knew that would be her chance. Sucking a breath through her teeth, Saya gave Judy a sly look and grinned. You know, I get around, and it happens that I've found an in with Harmon's people. Gems make good bribes, you see, and useful for buying supplies or whatever. It's been a way to get better intel, ultimately.
Anyway, I think they might let me bring my ship aboard theirs if I say I have a good deal for them, maybe offer some info. Once I'm inside their security perimeter, I can beam the bomb wherever you want it and blast out of there before they can react. She shrugged nonchalantly. My ship is fast and has good shielding.
And if I fail, well, I guess I'll be out of your hair. She offered a sweet smile to the older woman, but her tone was sarcastic. |Cargo Bay, ISS Determined || Chief enforcer Sven Aune| Opal Peridot|Sven's eyes casted upon the device. It was small. Perfect. A small device in the right place could do some serious damage. In fact, he wanted to see Harmon's ship blown to smithereens. But the disgusting hybrid wanted to smuggle the device using her ship, which could work. But the second half of the plan. Transporting it, he didn't like. One, she could transport it wherever, and two internal sensors would pick up an unauthorized beam in. He cast his eyes upon the horrid blob of silicon that sat quivering next to Saya. He clicked his claw and brought the razor sharp points just under Saya's chin. "Smuggle the bomb on board you say? I think we could do that." he did how a doubt. Surely Harmon's people would see that this little gem trader's ship had previously docked in the Determine and it would raise flags. "As for beaming the device. I don't think so. I think it's best that I join you. Make sure that we get it into, oh I don't know. The ancillary EPS junction. A little weak spot on those bird of prey's." he brought his claw up and opened it into a little explosion right in front of Saya's face. Opal remained as still as possible. She knew this Sven person. He had given her a few of he deep scars on her back and she was rooted to the spot. Hopefully he wouldn't notice. But to most humans, Horta look all the same. The Xenophobes. Sven glanced at Opal and smiled "What are you doing out of the dilitium mines? No matter." he turned his attention back to Saya, "How much do you want for that disgusting blob? I could use something like that."Opal spoke up "I'm not for sale.""Shut it animal, let the sentient species talk." [Commissioner Judith Eastman - Cargo Bay, ISS Determined]Judy maintained her calm RBF[fn]Resting Bitch Face[/fn] as the youngsters talked. They were, like most people, tools, means to an end - and they were lucky they didn't need to be smart to do their jobs. "Let's be civil," she ordered, with a little side-eye to Aune. She paid no mind to the Horta, but she didn't need her favorite brute bothering Ozu in this way, at this moment. Standing aside from the group, in form as well as in spirit, the Commissioner thought, analyzed, dissected. Her analytical mind, just as much as her cold ruthlessness, had enabled her rise. The knowledge that Ozu was double-dipping was just the kind of curveball she'd learned to deal with, a double-edged sword if ever there was one. "We will both accompany you," she directed, with an icy finality to her assessment. With Aune on hand, they would manage quite well against any double-crossing. "Always good to keep my piloting skills sharp," the Commissioner added, her words betraying, if only subtly, her pleasure at this novel idea she'd thought of. It was a security measure, controlling the getaway car, but it was also a show of control and dominance.

Saya glanced up at the retreating backs of Aune and Eastman. If I can take them out, I will, she promised before jumping up and sprinting silently after the two, slowing as she approached and hoping neither of them had noticed the slight delay. [Matt Harmon - The Dancing Leprechaun]
Butch was certainly enjoying himself, teasing the Commissioner's goons. He could tell Butch wasn't being serious with Mabel, the little brat of the Commissioner.
He avoided rolling his eyes at the Andorian, but instead gave a slight passive aggressive smile before raising his bottle for the entirely bullshit toast. "To successful negotiations." Mabel's attempts at embarrassing him really ought to have been more embarrassing for her. He hardly cared if she paid, he didn't have some misguided sense of pride. Besides, whatever he paid with was probably repossessed from the Commissioner anyway. "Well how kind of you," he said with dry sarcasm, "It's true we don't have the vast plunder you and your mother enjoy, we are but paupers compared to you, indeed," he paused, "And yet you struggle so dearly against our merry band of rebels," he jabbed. "Oh, I've been meaning to ask how are your mining operations going?" the past few months the Front was relatively successful in attacking a number of mining, particularly dilithium, facilities and freeing their 'workers' as well as taking a plunder which was then either used to aid the Front or sold to provide aid to struggling civilian communities. [Doctor Paawin Riyo ("Butch") - Front Ear Station]Butch lifted his own glass in toast, but didn't vocalize the sentiment. "I was just reminded that the good Commissioner doesn't let anyone have anything without getting her... cut. Last I saw her she was looking a bit old for my taste, but..." he turned his attention back to Mabel with a wink and grin. "I suppose I could always let you blindfold me." Okay, so maybe it wasn't the smoothest recovery in the galaxy, and the mere thought of what he was 'suggesting' made his skin crawl and long for a decontamination chamber. And he wanted another drink. But he needed to keep his wits about him, and that Andorian Ale had been a bit stronger than he'd expected. He hoped Kova and her team were having better luck than he was, so he could get the hell out of there and not look back. [NPC - 1st Lt. Mabel Eastman - The Dancing Leprechaun]Mabel was visibly amused by the Bajoran's apparent inability to hold his liquor, and more so by his excuse. Truth be told, her adoptive mother was indeed aging, though Mabel's interest in this was loftier: she needed mommy dearest to stay strong enough, for long enough, until she was ready to inherit the throne. Harmon was the one more vulnerable to a barb. "Some of our partners on Kurjaria have taken to suggest we automate the mines," she said (falsely), seemingly affirming his success. Then, she turned her head to look directly at him, and finished the thought. "And liquidate the workers."Surely that'd shut him up. Mabel knew better than to seriously propose genocide herself - even the Commissioner didn't believe in that - but she knew it was a solid way to win arguments and toy with people's emotions.

[ Ozu Saya - Cargo Bay - ISS Determined] Saya held very still when Aune brought that crazy massive claw of his under her chin. Wouldn't do to accidentally impale herself. Before she could respond to the man's disgusting offer to buy Opal, Eastman jumped in with a demand for civility, and inviting both herself and the mountain along. Her face barely twitched. One of them, she could probably have handled, but not both together. Saya wasn't sure how Opal would feel about her plan, so she didn't want to presume that the Horta would help. First of all, she said in her most severe tone, taking a couple of steps back from Sven. Don't talk about my friend like that. She's not for sale.
Second, are you sure you should both come along? Seems awfully risky. Also, I don't think the Bijeta has the weight capacity for this stislak. Saya jerked her thumb at the man and gave him a cheeky smile, covering for her nerves at the whole situation. |Cargo Bay, ISS Determined || Enforcer Sven Aune || Opal Peridot |Opal quivered at the insult, "Said the monkey with a missing hand." she wasn't going to back down, even though she was terrified. Apparently Aune didn't remember her, and she was going to keep it that way. She shifted her body towards Saya. The only organic that she trusted. Saya had rescued her out of a miners slave den. Aune cracked a wicked smile at Saya. "Friend you say?" oh, that's leverage right there. And he would certainty use it if needed. "If the commissioner wants to come, she can come." It was true. Though Sven was loyal to her, he was only as loyal to her as his own ambitions would allow. If he could snuff her life and walk away clean with a promotion, he would do it. But that time hadn't come yet. Judy didn't become the commissioner by being stupid. No, he would be content with breaking arms and enforcing her will for the mean time. But the dirty little hybrid said something. Something he didn't recognize. He felt the hair on skin rise in annoyance. "Sorry, I don't speak stupid."He looked to the commissioner. She was after all, calling the shots. [Commissioner Judith Eastman - Cargo Bay -> Shuttlebay, ISS Determined]Judy very subtly sighed in disappointment. Aune was a brute, and Ozu wasn't much better. "I made my decision," she asserted, cold as ice. "If you need to make space, you could leave your friend behind."She uttered the word "friend" with a sort of bemused skepticism, like she was talking about "alligators in law school". "Mr. Aune, get the device," she ordered, eyeing the bomb, and then led the group to the shuttlebay with swift, decisive, but graceful steps. Along the short walk, passing crewmembers and guards stood to attention with her passage, and she walked past, giving each a respectful (but clearly superior) nod. These were things as they should be, an organization led by a strong, firm leader, like the Empire of old. She motioned at the door of the Bijeta, ordering Ozu to open it up.

[Chloe Hudson - Phoenix]Chloe grinned eagerly at the mention of the usage of their five-fingered discount, it was a chance for her to prove her use. She listened intently to the plan, and carefully examined the map, committing it to the memory. She always had a good memory, it was one of her best assets. Remembering little bits of information here and there had helped get her out of trouble many times. "Got it," she nodded, once Kova was done, taking one of the sedatives Butch had made for them. "Just let me know what you need me to do, I'm ready. Should we go?" she said somewhat impatiently. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Phoenix --> Commercial Docks, Front Ear Station ] After making certain that they had everything they would need, Kova gestured for them to leave. As they made their way towards the airlock of their ship, Kova handed a pair of items to Chloe, thinking it best to satiate her comrade's eagerness. "Here. This is the cloning device. Put it in your pocket. You should feel it pulse once it's finished cloning the comm device," Kova stated. "It's already calibrated to scan for frequency tied to the Determined's navigational beacon. And this... is what you're going to replace the guard's access card with. I'll distract him while you retrieve the card. Just be sure to slip this in his pocket so that he doesn't realize it's missing right away."Once Kova was sure that Chloe was okay with the details the pair proceeded to their destination. As they reached the commercial docks, traffic appeared to be as busy as expected. People were picking up deliveries and bringing merchandise to be shipped. There were even people conversing to set up business deals, arguing over rates and such. It didn't seem that they would have any issues until Kova saw the guard on duty. Her eyes widened, as this wasn't what she expected. "You've got to be kidding me," the Andorian said as her eyes fell upon the Caitian Nyberrite Security Officer, S'Riia. A heavy sigh left Kova's lips as she gave Chloe one last piece of advice. "Watch out for the tail."Kova studied the woman as she approached. She wasn't fully Caitian, a hybrid, but still Caitian enough. It wasn't easy to sneak up on them with ears like that. And that damned tail. Kova only hoped she kept her distracted long enough for Chloe to make the trade. Off to the corner a few meters away, Kova spied some couriers whom seemed to fit the description of being from the Determined. She was still a few meters away, when the Caitian's ears twitched and her attention fell upon Kova. For once, she wished it was a bloody Terran that she was dealing with. They were so gullible and much easier to sneak up on. "Can I help you?" the Caitian asked with a suggestive smirk at the Andorian. "Let's hope so," Kova replied as she leaned forward for a kiss. It was vigorous, and certainly welcome. Kova did her best to be as convincing as possible. Yet, as she performed just short of a tonsillectomy on the Caitian, she could only hope that the waving tail didn't bump into Chloe's hands, and that she didn't all of a sudden cough up a hairball before they got the access card.

[Matt Harmon - The Dancing Leprechaun, Front Ear]Matt briefly glanced at Butch in surprises asas the man began coughing at the revelation of Mable's parentage. Ooops. He probably should have mentioned that earlier. Still, he was somewhat disappointed by Butch's accidental undermining of their position in...whatever this confrontation was. He didn't acknowledge Butch, instead turning his head back to face Shavan. "I'm sure," he said dubiously as he asserted, falsely, that the Commissioner's profits were doing as well as usual. Butch salvaged his situation a little. His jab wasn't anything special but it helped them save face a little. When Mabel replied however, Matt couldn't help but be taken back. He had thought that despite their savagery and cruelty, the Commissioner and her henchmen weren't so disgusting as Mabel seemed to be suggesting. Of course it was likely she was just trying to get under his skin, but she did a good job of that. "Be careful, Mabel, a person with nothing to lose is the most dangerous," he said after a long moment of silence. If what she claimed was true, which he did still doubt, it would be much easier to inspire an uprising against the Commissioner's tyranny. [Chloe Hudson - Commercial Docks, Front Ear]
Chloe took the device and fake card and nodded emphatically that she understood the plan. As they entered the Commercial Docks, Chloe was reminded of her time drifting about the various docks, cities, and stations she had found herself on after escaping slavery. The busy hustling was a familiar sight. It didn't take long for them to spot the duty security officer who Kova seemed to know. The tail would make things trickier, but Chloe was still confident. She subtly moved towards the sides of the Caitain, and was taken aback as Kova suddenly kissed her. Taking the distraction as the opportunity she moved in and got closer, effortlessly swapped the card with the fake Kova had given her, successfully avoiding her tail. She sighed with relief but was soon terrified when she felt the tail flick back towards her and brush against her leg while she was stepping back...

She'd never touched the Horta before, and didn't like causing her friend distress, but had felt it necessary to try to get the point across. Saya didn't think there was any other way to get a warning to Harmon before the bomb was planted. Once Eastman and Aune had entered the ship, Saya paused to close the portal. Before retracting the gangway, she deliberately tapped her foot heel-toe-heel-toe, to let Opal know that she'd recognized the Horta's response. The vibrations would be minute, but the silicone lifeform should have no difficulty sensing the pattern. Saya spun from the door as it whooshed shut and sealed as she heard Eastman tell her henchman to break her comm equipment. Hey, now! she said, stalking forward to the bridge. There's no need to break anything! I can simulate a problem with the system. Of course, it wouldn't matter if she ended up having to sacrifice the ship to stop them.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Commercial Docks, Front Ear Station ] It was such a subtle an incidental touch that many may not have thought much of it. Though, given her location and the sort of people that lurked around this docking area, the Caitian didn't chance it. She pried her lips from those of the Andorian abruptly, just as her tail instinctively lashed once again at whatever had grazed it. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at Chloe, suspicious of the girl. Her hands reached to check her pockets. "What're you doing?" the security officer snapped. "She's just trying to get my attention," Kova said, speaking up instantly. "Reminding me that we have business to indulge in... and not simply pleasure." The Andorian was hopeful that it would suffice as an excuse, but the Caitian appeared skeptical. "Leave. Both of you," she said dismissing them. She seemed satisfied with the preliminary check of her pockets. It didn't seem that anything was missing. Perhaps she had foiled their attempt. Kova took hold of Chloe's wrist and quickly began to move her along. She arched her eyebrow, silently trying to confirm whether or not she had been successful in retrieving the access card. Naturally, that left only one other task to complete. Kova's eyes found Eastman's couriers. They still seemed to be within range. "Did the device vibrate yet?" she asked, hoping that the cloning of the comms had been successful. Otherwise, they'd have to move closer, and considering the frequent glances the Caitian was giving them, that may not bode well. Kova ushered them towards a fabrics vendor, keeping them in range as she waited for Chloe to confirm. "Once it's done," she began, "We can go back the way we came. The room we're looking for is only a few doors down on the left."

The room we're looking for is only a few doors down on the left." [Chloe Hudson - Commercial Docks]
Damnit, Chloe thought to herself as the Caitian shot daggers at her. "Yeah, we've got to get going," she said quickly as Kova offered an excuse, "Sorry," she added to the Caitain before being dragged along by Kova. At least she'd got the card and wasn't quite caught fully, that certainly could have gone a lot worse. "Sorry," she said quietly, this time to Kova. "It's not done yet," she said, her voice still quiet as she felt embarrassed. "Got it!" she chirped after a moment as the device started vibrating, her sprits restored. Glancing back towards the Caitain first, she headed back out towards they way they came.
