[LCDR Matthew Harmon - Bridge]"I don't think it was Vasser either," he replied quietly to the Commander. It could come as a surprise that he held that opinion but that whole thing didn't add up. Perhaps other elements of the Alliance was involved, but he didn't think it was Vasser. That wasn't to say he trusted her, just that she happened to be innocent of this particular offence. "Someone wants us to think it was her, however. They want this to be messy," he warned, calling for restraint. Ironic coming from him, really. Quinn's findings however, did suggest that the Nyberrite fighter was responsible. "We need unobstructed access to Owl-1. If it wasn't Vasser but someone else in the Alliance was involved, we still can't trust them to give us what we need. I suggest we invite her personally to watch over us while we send a team to inspect Owl-1. If she wants to clear her name, this is the best way for her and for us," he suggested. He knew it was unlikely Vasser would see it that way and approve, unfortunately. Especially after she discovered the Mac transported something off the Soteria...
He then received the rather impolite call from Avi. This was the worst time for this, but he couldn't leave her there if she was on the verge of being uncovered. "Transport now, Ms. Velal!" He then sent a message on his PADD to Crewman Dak to escort a Bolian from the Transporter Room to Harmon's office.

[ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Sickbay ]An explosion with no initial evidence of weaponfire? Neme arched an eyebrow. Now that was interesting. Sabotage of the craft by the Nyberrite Alliance was an incendiary theory. Or perhaps the Alliance had discovered a way to cause damage more creatively from a range. Weaponized transporters, nano-scale tractor beams, ultra-wide band radio frequencies. Not that anyone would ask Neme for their theories... With Aravis's jacket out of the way, Neme was able to confirm there were no further burns or bruising to the torso. But Aravis was still experiencing strained breathing, so Neme began to scan internally. Aravis was now on the verge of tears. It was an expected response in her species to trauma. The patient's outcome would be improved if suitable comforting bedside manner strategies were used. "You are handling this well, Lieutenant" Neme said and placed a hand on her shoulder. "But your trachea and lungs are damaged. If you lie back, I can initiate treatment of the inflamed tissue. Then you will feel better." Matthew Harmon , Ozu Saya (Aravis) [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Sickbay -> Bridge]
As he had feared, Lieutenant Aravis appeared to have no actionable intelligence to help them piece together what had happened. It was apparent he wasn't going to get anything more from her so he made his leave. "Thank you Lieutenant, I'll leave you to the medical staff now so you can recover. We'll get to the bottom of this, you just take it easy and relax," he said before turning and leaving the room, heading back to the Bridge. As he entered the turbolift, having received the Commander's response, he send the coordinates and necessary information to Tactical. He then tried contacting Avi again.
=/\= Beam out ready on your call. Get somewhere secure first. =/\=
He spoke softly to avoid anyone potentially overhearing him. He then stepped off the turbolift and onto the bridge.
"Unfortunately, Lieutenant Aravis did not have much to give us," he reported as he took the chair next to the Commander. "Nothing on sensors, she didn't see anything, or feel anything that could aid us." His voice remained stoic, though he was disappointed at the lack of information.
Tag: Ozu Saya, Avi Moz, Judith Eastman, @johriehvelal [ Lt. jg Aravis - Sickbay] Thank you, Ensign Aravis said to the medical officer as she laid back with a sniff. I'm sorry, Commander, she added as Harmon turned to leave. I'd like to help with the investigation. Will I be able to leave soon? It was becoming more difficult to talk and breathe, so Aravis suspected she might be stuck here for longer than she'd like, but maybe by the next day she'd be able to help figure out what had happened. She closed her eyes and tried to relax as her breath hitched painfully.

[Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Deck 8, Shuttlebay --> Bridge, USS Mac ] Isaiah listened as Mabel explained her logic. It didn't seem to be founded in science, but he did understand the logic that she was pushing. "I see," he commented again. "So, Peter sealed his fate by crying wolf once too often. What if Peter's telling the truth this time?" He simply let the analogy linger, opting to focus on the task at hand. Isaiah knew that the Nyberrite soldiers had earned a reputation, for better or worse. The same could be said for a variety of people: the Klingons, the Cardassians, the Q. Were they all the same because of what had been witnessed of a few? Of course, the same argument could be made to Isaiah, that he was allowing his previous acquaintance with Vasser to color his perception of her. It was hard not to argue that that had been the case during the simulation at Sigma-4. He only hoped that he could find a way to prove that she wasn't behind something like this. If she were, then he obviously didn't know the woman as well as he'd thought. As Mabel made the suggestion of also removing the secondary control computers, Isaiah nodded. "Good call. Best to be as thorough as possible," he added as he set about the task. He continued working, getting the systems removed as needed. Once he had completed his task, he moved over towards a work bench, and began to hook up the computers to one of the diagnostic stations. "All right, let's see what we've got here." Lt. Commander Quinn also took a moment to send the scorch mark readings that were variant from typical Nyberrite weapons to Crewman Velal. What Isaiah saw didn't exactly enthuse him in the slightest. He sent the latent sensor readings of the beam just prior to its striking the Hera to tactical. He simply wanted to confirm that the beam had actually been the one that caused the damage. He checked over things, and handed the report of their findings to Mabel. He then made his way to the turbolift, en route to the Bridge. Upon the doors parting, Isaiah could see that Lt. Commander Harmon had already returned. Isaiah waited for an appropriate moment to give his own report. "From what we could gather from the Hera's data banks, trajectory and all suggest that Owl-1 did fire on the Hera," Isaiah stated. He took a deep breath. "The only thing that stood out as abnormal were some sensor readings about the discharge from the Nyberrite weapon," Quinn said. He glanced towards Crewman Velal. "Ms. Velal, I forwarded those readings to you. I was wondering if you could make anything of them."[Crewman Jovireh Velal - USS Mac - Bridge]Jovireh was grateful the other woman seemed to appreciate her moment of humor, and it did serve to lighten the mood in the room - at least momentarily. Taking the mug that was handed to her, she murmured a thanks, the aromatic steam already working its wonders. Her attention returned to her console and the task at hand as Lt. Commander Harmon reentered the bridge. "Transporter locked on, awaiting the order." She reported briefly, still quite curious as to exactly what it was she'd be transporting between the ships. As the final stream of information came through, she compiled everything they had into a single file and transmitted it to the Soteria at the Commander's indication. Now it was time to set about examining the data sent to her by Lt. Commander Quinn as he too returned to the bridge. Her brow furrowed at the readings, immediately noting the anomalies that Isaiah mentioned. It looked familiar, but was nothing she had encountered in her years of active duty. Biting the inside of her lip, she stared at the information, trying to recall her classes at the Academy. "This looks Tholian!" she blurted out, her shock at the recognition overriding her usual manners. "But not exactly... It was definitely a Nyberrite weapon, but they somehow managed to integrate some of the web technology." Jov took a sip of her tea, hoping to stave off the headache that was suddenly beginning to form. She'd always thought Tholian technology wasn't compatible with anything else. The Nyberrites must have a hell of an engineering team over there...

If she could keep Vasser on her toes, she'd avoid the topic of Moz. [Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac ] To say that Lt. Commander Quinn was surprised by Crewman Velal's declaration was an understatement. and given Commander Eastman's reaction, he wasn't the only one. "That... shouldn't be possible," Isaiah stated. "Literally." It wasn't that he doubted Velal's recognition of the signatures. His declaration was based on pure physics. Just as the Tholians' were accustomed to elevated temperatures, the same held for true for a great deal of the technology (or at least what they had allowed to be studied.) Isaiah was actively trying to conceive the simple notion that integrating such technology with Nyberrite tech, or anyone else for that matter short of the Borg, was even possible. Though, in the midst of his musings, he heard Lt. Commander Harmon give Velal a rather urgent order to transport something... now. "Transport?" It was more a surprise than anything. Quinn didn't have time to dwell on the mystery long as Commander Eastman issued out orders, effectively emptying the Bridge, though leaving him in charge. "Aye, Commander." He watched as Harmon and Mabel began to carry out their assignments while Eastman moved to the Ready Room. Quinn effectively left feeling he had more questions than answers at this point. Despite the personal queries he had, he still had his duties to carry out. He started to move towards the tactical station to join Velal. "You understand I didn't mean to contradict you, Crewman," Isaiah stated. "It's just that most of the reactions in Tholian tech occur at temperature well above any of the housings we, and the Nyberrite for that matter, use." A long sigh left the science officer's lips. "Let's start from scratch. This time, I'll take a look at the impact data, you scrutinize the impact trajectories. The data suggests that Owl-1 fired a weapon that has some Tholian properties. We have to be missing something."

Colonel Helena Vasser & Alpha Sergeant Gorsk - Bridge, NSS Soteria ] Colonel Vasser kept staring at the padd in her hand. She certainly didn't approve of what she saw. She knew Captain Mauroos, and he was an exemplary pilot. He certainly had a great deal of integrity. And if the man said that he didn't open fire on the Hera, then she was inclined to believe him. Yet, all of the data... all of their own data, suggested that the blast did come form Owl-1. She had already received the medical report from Dr. Bel, which had cleared both of the men for light duty. Most of their injuries were caused from some sort of impact. That was what Vasser was waiting on Chromar for... data from the ship regarding that impact. The colonel was torn from her thoughts by a slight alarm. She world around, her eyes falling upon Gorsk, who's hands were scrambling across her console. "Report!" she ordered. "Unauthorized transport in progress," Gorsk stated. "Raise shields.""It's too late," Gorsk conceded. An annoyed sigh left Vasser's lips. So, this is what you've been hiding, Judy Eastman. Vasser wasn't sure if she were surprised or disappointed by this turn of events. It seemed that Chromar's suspicions may have been correct all along. "Do we know what, or whom was transported?""Whom," Gorsk confirmed. "Working on it, Colonel."Vasser nodded. Her communications officer then signaled that she had a hail coming in from the Mac. Commander Eastman. "I'll take it in my ready room. Gorsk, after you find out who's gone, let me know what's been taken. I want an account for any and all recent downloads. Forward them to me as soon as possible. And make Major Chromar aware of the situation." She had the sneaking suspicion that Chromar could shine even more light on these recent events. =0= "Major Chromar, report to the Bridge immediately." =0= Vasser began to retreat to her ready room. "The bridge is yours, Sergeant."Vasser rounded her desk and finally took a seat. As she activated the comm, she stared into the eyes of the woman who had only a matter of months ago claimed to hold the moral high ground. "How kind of you, Commander," she said in response to the Hera's logs being sent over. She found herself waiting for a moment before speaking. "I'd like to extend to you the same courtesy you gave me a few months ago, Commander. Is that all you'd like to share with me?"

Oh, what she wouldn't give to be a spry, young, 55-year-old right now. But alas, they already had one command-level officer incapacitated for rising below his station. "Mr. Quinn, you have the Bridge."Judy swiftly walked to the Ready Room, to place the call.
Tag Isaiah Quinn , Jovireh Velal , Matthew Harmon [Crewman Jovireh Velal - USS Mac - Bridge][...] As the final stream of information came through, she compiled everything they had into a single file and transmitted it to the Soteria at the Commander's indication. [ Avi Moz | Shuttlebay -> maintenance access hatch 12, Soteria ]Harmon's voice chimed deep inside Avi's ear even as Chromar grabbed her by the arm. She didn't fight it. All she needed was ten seconds out of sight and she wouldn't get that if she was being hauled into the brig. For a moment, the latter seemed like a distinct possibility. What came after being relieved of duty wasn't likely to be unsupervised run of the ship. With effort Avi managed to keep a scowl off her face. And then some more luck. Seemed everyone had a boss, even Chromar. Whatever nonsense was going on up top had saved her. "Yes, sir," she said taking her arm back. She let Chromar order her around just one more time, then followed him out into the shuttlebay. As soon as she was out the doors and out of sight, Avi Moz broke into a sprint headed for a nearby maintence access hatch. She stepped inside and shut the door behind her. =//= Now, now, now, now, you snake. Now! =//= [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Bridge]"I don't think it was Vasser either," he replied quietly to the Commander.
Tag: Judith Eastman , @jovriehvelal, Avi Moz [NPC - Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Main Shuttlebay, USS Mac]Mabel happened to think that Vasser was closer to the wolf than to Peter, but she chose not to dwell on the topic. At the end of the day, Quinn was a Lieutenant Commander, Mabel was an Ensign, and there was a point where debate just wasn't appropriate. Respectfully, she carried out her job, and returned with Quinn to the Bridge. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Bridge, USS Mac]Judy took in the reports. From what Quinn said, it sure seemed like the Nyberrites were somehow culpable, but what Velal said... "Oy vey iz mir," she muttered once again. She took another moment to think, particularly on what Harmon had said. The fact that they'd just beamed something - well, someone - off the Soteria was going to make this quite hard, but that didn't mean all was lost... "I think under the circumstances, our best defense is a good offense. Let's send the Hera's logs to the Soteria right now, and I'll make a call to Vasser from the ready room. Mr. Quinn, Ms. Velal, I want you to keep analyzing it all. This is a heck of a technological mystery, and I'd very much like to understand how it happened. Mr. Harmon, take Mabel with you," the XO ordered, in a burst of decision-making and energy. Once upon a time, when she was younger and less senior, she would've been the one studying these signatures, trying to understand just how Tholian tech had been married to Nyberrite systems. Oh, what she wouldn't give to be a spry, young, 55-year-old right now. But alas, they already had one command-level officer incapacitated for rising below his station. "Mr. Quinn, you have the Bridge."Judy swiftly walked to the Ready Room, to place the call. "Let's go, partner!" Mabel said to Harmon, rather chipper. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Captain's Ready Room, USS Mac]The ready room was relatively sterile, furnished with mostly generic Starfleet items. It had been so ever since Captain Ellis had left, as neither Perry nor anyone else had made the space their own. Judy sat down on the regulation chair, suppressing a groan for it was not ergonomically correct, and got to work. =A= "Colonel, we're sending you the Hera's logs, and there's a lot in there that we need to talk about," =A= she asserted.

Silently chastising herself for not paying closer attention to the rest of the bridge, she slid her fingers along the panel. "Transport complete. Subject is in Transporter Room 1." The Crewman briefly considered erecting the security forcefields around the transporter pad, given she didn't know exactly what she had just beamed aboard the ship... But since neither Commander had said anything about taking such security measures, she decided not to let her own suspicion overstep her bounds. More orders were given, and the bridge was back to being mostly empty. This time it was Quinn she was left with, and she glanced over as he approached her station, clarifying he didn't intend his earlier statement to cast doubt on her capabilities. She nodded simply to accept the professional form of apology, and pointed at the specific readings. "I'd be skeptical too if it wasn't right in front of me. See this combination of tri-cobalt and tetryon particles? That's what the Tholians use in their webs, why they're so difficult to escape from." But there hadn't been a web. Just damage. At his suggestion to start from the beginning and reexamine all the date, she took another sip of her tea, her mind spinning. "Sir..." she began as a thought occurred to her. "That debris you found on sensors, when the attack first happened... Is it possible it didn't come from either of the fighters?" It was a long shot, but so was the Nyberrite Alliance being able to integrate Tholian technology with their own. At this point, she was willing to entertain any possibility.

[ LCDR Matthew Harmon - Sickbay -> Bridge] [...] As he had feared, Lieutenant Aravis appeared to have no actionable intelligence to help them piece together what had happened. [...] [ Lt. jg Aravis - Sickbay] [...] "Thank you, Ensign," Aravis said to the medical officer as she laid back with a sniff. "I'm sorry, Commander," she added as Harmon turned to leave. "I'd like to help with the investigation. Will I be able to leave soon?" It was becoming more difficult to talk and breathe, so Aravis suspected she might be stuck here for longer than she'd like, but maybe by the next day she'd be able to help figure out what had happened. She closed her eyes and tried to relax as her breath hitched painfully. [ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Sickbay ]Harmon was on his way and the Ba'ku on the biobed had kindly laid down. With a few keypresses, the biobed's arms emerged and closed in a gentle arch above Lieutenant Aravis's chest. "The arch will regenerate your lung and trachea tissues and remove any harmful particulates. It will be painless. In my opinion, if you lie still, you will be cleared for light duty in four hours." Then Neme began to program the arch. "If you'll allow me, Lieutenant, you are performing very well given the circumstances," Neme said keying in the settings. "Many would panic in the same situation, overcome by guilt, perhaps. But you seem very calm and focused." This evaluation was delivered, of course, uncolored with emotion as was typical of most Vulcans. Ozu Saya (Aravis)

Colonel Helena Vasser & Alpha Sergeant Gorsk - Bridge, NSS Soteria ] Vasser rounded her desk and finally took a seat.
Tag: Judith Eastman [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Ready Room, USS Mac]Judy maintained her poker face, not letting much of any emotion show. She understood Vasser's anger, and admittedly, there was something very... cyclical to this. "Colonel, there's a lot I'd like to tell you. In fact, there's a lot that I will tell you, and I promise that I will, but as it were, we have an even bigger problem," she countered, choosing to shift the terrain of the battlefield. Vasser deserved (limited, vague) answers, but Commodore Perry (or, if the worst were to happen, his orphaned sons) deserved answers as well. "You see, there were two really troubling things we noticed in the Hera's logs. First, that the trajectory of the hit came from the Owl-1. Second, that the weapon discharge was consistent with Tholian technology."Now, it was time to see where Vasser took this. Judy would certainly understand if Vasser wanted to indignantly hang up, but perhaps she would do something different.

[ Avi Moz | Transporter Room 1, Mac ]Avi Moz materialized in the clean gleaming transporter room of a Sovereign class Federation starship. Her nostrils flared as she took a deep breath of the carefully environmentally controlled air. Avi had been on a Federation ship exactly once but her personalized tour had only covered the brig, so walking around on her own was a real luxury - a perk - on top of finally being out of the Alliance with their orders and Tal'Shiar majors and Gorsks and Bricks. She stepped down off the platform and pulled a cigar from an inside pocket. The transporter room tech was staring, having not expected a Bolian in a Nyberribe Alliance uniform to be who materialized. "What?" Avi demanded and made her way to the doors, fully intending to find a drink then a bed. But it was not to be. Security was there to meet her. "You're Moz, I take it? Come with me. Lieutenant Harmon will want to see you," said Crewman Dak who looked like he could breach a hull with his head and bare hands. Avi from a few months ago would have provoked him until she made things far worse than the situation needed just because she could but now? She was so damn tired. "Fine." She waved a hand in a flourish, signaling he should lead the way and that she'd be no trouble at all. Matthew Harmon

Their own sensors and those from the Soteria seemed to confirm that those had been the only ships present. Still, none of them had expected a Nyberrite weapon with properties of a Tholian weapon. The second piece of evidence, however, was something that Vasser almost felt inclined to laugh at. "Tholian technology?!" Vasser repeated. [NPCs - Major Chromar & Alpha Sergeant Gorsk - Bridge, NSS Soteria ] To say that the Romulan Intelligence officer was pissed was an understatement. He glanced over towards Gorsk's station, expecting an 'I-told-you-so-glance' from the woman. However, thus far, she hadn't obliged him with one. He turned his attention to the data from the flight recorder, putting the Bolian out of his mind. He quelled the thoughts of what could happen should their paths cross again. And his distraction was quite timely, as he came across an interesting discovery. "Owl-1 didn't fire," he said as he went to show Gorsk what he'd found. The Na'Kuhl officer reviewed the data. "The computer never registered an ignition sequence from the trigger," she concluded. "I will inform the Colonel.""And that suggests sabotage," Chromar stated. He began to move towards the turbolift. "That sneaky little Bolian. The bridge is yours. I'll be in the shuttlebay, finding the nails for her coffin."

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Ready Room, USS Mac]Judy continued to appear unfazed and cool, but in truth, Vasser's accusations hurt. Judy valued her integrity, and it had been compromised in dealing with the Nyberrites. She hadn't been part of the order to send Moz in, but nor did she try to end the espionage operation at any point. The ends justified the means, she believed then as now, but she wasn't pure. She couldn't distance herself from the moral guilt, but nor could she distance herself from the mission of protecting the Federation, and the threat that the Alliance seemed to pose to that mission. But there was that moral guilt, and right now, there were hurt feelings for it. "I'm sorry for betraying your trust," Judy said, and meant it. Perhaps she had just managed to keep the door open, or perhaps it was about to get slammed in her face. Perhaps she should've gone for the apology a minute earlier, in hindsight.

If she was wrong, they were no worse off than they'd been from the start. [Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac ] Isaiah had to admit, he was rather intrigued by Crewman Velal's later theory. That there was the possibility of a cloaked mines in the area. There was some merit to the idea, but it wasn't any easier to prove without further evidence. "You wouldn't happen to have any suspects with theory, would you?" Isaiah asked. "And for that matter motive. I admit, it can't be ruled out completely. However, if we're laying this at the Alliance's feet? Couldn't Owl-1 have hit the mine as well?" The science officer briefly allowed his attention to be usurped by his console. Grids 125 through 120 had been cleared.

[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Ready Room, NSS Soteria ] As Vasser sat behind her desk, she had to admit to herself, she wasn't sure how to take the words that had just been uttered by Commander Eastman. "You apology sounds genuine," Vasser began, "and yet, I can't help but ask myself what you'd do in my position." Vasser continued to stare at the image of the woman on her console. Why that even mattered to Vasser was beyond the woman. It was then that another message came from Gorsk. Her eyes quickly skimmed it, and a heavy sigh left Vasser's lips. Vasser lifted her wrist and activated her comm unit. =0= "Vasser to Bridge. Prepare to send the data logs from Owl-1 to the Mac on my order. Vasser out." The tip of Vasser's finger drummed against toe top of her desk. "Once you receive this data, you will see that there's is only one narrative that makes sense. A woman of questionable character, was selected to infiltrate a Nyberrite vessel... pressured to discover something of substance... did the only thing someone whom was desperate and under threat would do: lie." Vasser exhaled as she continued to sit in her chair. "Owl-1's logs will show that no firing mechanism was triggered according to the ship's computer logs," Vasser shared. "And the person that just fled my ship was likely responsible for sabotaging our ship and thereby responsible for the injuries of four officers. One of whom is your commanding officer." Vasser paused, allowing the words to permeate through the distance. She then sent a message to Gorsk to send Owl-1's data logs to the Mac for confirmation. She knew of Matt Harmon only through conversation, but it wouldn't have surprised her if this was his brainchild. The insinuation that he could leverage someone like Moz to turn up some clandestine results. And apparently, someone had actually believed he could deliver on some sort of scandal.

[Crewman Jovireh Velal - USS Mac - Bridge]Jovireh began the scans he indicated, but shook her head when he asked if she thought it might have been another ship. "Not necessarily, sir. If there was a mine positioned in between the fighters, and the Hera tripped it, the damage would appear to have come from the Owl-1." Her thoughts continued, as the more she spoke the easier it was to string them together. However she made certain to keep a close eye on the scans as she continued. "Romulans and Klingons have both used cloaked mines in the past. Granted, that technology would leave traces of tachyon particles, which you've already ruled out. However, if the Nyberrites are able to integrate Tholian technology, who knows what else they can do?" Another pause as she finished the first grid and moved her scans to the next. "I'm not an engineer by any means, but I assume it's a lot easier to integrate alien technology into a mine than a ship's systems." Tag: Jovireh Velal [Crewman Jovireh Velal - USS Mac - Bridge]At least he didn't immediately dismiss the thought. Though he was right, they wouldn't be able to prove it unless they could find something else on sensors. He asked if she had thoughts on suspect and motive, and she shook her head, moving on to the next grid. "Unfortunately, this is the extent of my experience with the Nyberrite Alliance. Though it's not unheard of for someone to be willing to sacrifice their own people to achieve their agenda - especially if it was someone who didn't personally know the pilots." She paused momentarily, clearing that grid and moving on to the next, before looking back up at Quinn with an amused smile. "And no, I did not have a revealing conversation with the Commodore last night," she added, referring to the last mission they had been on together. Jovireh had noticed his and Dr. Baker's surprise when she laid suspicion on Primary L'Sho while she was in Sickbay, and since her testimony was never needed before Relan threw the Primary in front of the shuttle, she knew it had probably seemed like a lucky guess. To be honest, she was rather grateful she was not so closely tied to this disaster as well.

Tag: Judith Eastman (soft tag Kaya Som , Matthew Harmon ) [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Ready Room, USS Mac]Judy had to think for a moment. She certainly couldn't rule it out. It seemed as straightforward now, as the idea that the Owl-1 had just up and fired had seemed not so long ago. Occam's razor was a double-edged sword like that. "That is very much possible, and if that is indeed the case, then there will be hell to pay," she confirmed. "However, it doesn't account for the data we saw. Yes, as you said, integrating Tholian tech into anyone else's... anything is seemingly impossible, but things are only ever impossible until they're done," she added, returning to the data that they had. "Now I know a few engineers that I believe can work technical miracles of that magnitude, and I'm sure you do too, but Avi Moz isn't on that list. So, before I settle on one explanation or another, I'd certainly like to investigate that. I think the devil is in those details."Disturbed by a little schmutz on the bifocal line, Judy took off her glasses and gently cleaned them, with a little bottle of spray and a cloth she kept in her handbag.
