Enola sat in her shuttle and looked out the window. She put her head on her hands and her feet were on the second chair. Sighing, she got up and hurried to the replicator before pressing the button to record the sound. "Computer, volcanic spice tea, hot," she ordered and shortly afterwards took out the freshly made glass with a reddish liquid substance. Enola put the tea back down and grabbed it with both hands to warm her up. With a sip of the soothing broth, she returned to her seat and sank deep into the chair. It was the impersonal voice of the computer that pulled her out of her thoughts. Enola looked at the readings reported by the computer and could guess the space station on its sensors. She looked down at herself and saw that she was still wearing clothes with a classic Romulan cut. "Computer, start the autopilot to the space station," Enola told the computer and quickly drank the rest of the tea. " Time to the space station", she asked and fished the uniform out of the closet when the computer answered. = / \ = You can reach the space station in 15 minutes = /\ =. Mhhh, it could be tight, Enola thought and took off her casual clothes, which were neatly placed in the corner of the shuttle. A few minutes later the uniform was where it should be and Enola flattened the good piece of clothing with a wave of the hand. = /\ = The space station has been reached = /\ = The computer terminated on and Enola whirled to where the shuttle was the pilot normally sat. With a few well chosen commands she opened a channel to the space station. = A = Ensign Enola to the space station. I ask for permission to dock, =A= she said through the Channels, waiting for a response from the space station. No doubt she just fell in between. [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Ops - Front Ear] Saya straightened in her seat and looked in surprise at the operations station when the shuttle's call came through. She looked quickly down at her PADD, wondering if she'd missed something. Saya couldn't recall anything in the info pack Jenkins had left for her about a new transfer arriving that day. She'd have to speak to Judy. Gesturing to the operations officer, she answered, :comm: ' This is Chief Ozu aboard Front Ear. You're cleared to land on Docking Pad A. Please report to Ops with your orders as soon as you're aboard.' :comm: ---------- Tag Enola [Ensign Enola, Shuttle => OPS]
Was that a Vulcan voice, Enola wondered, but decided to give it a secondary priority. She’d see if Chief Ozu was a Vulcan. “Thank you, Chief Ozu”, she agreed and closed the channel before she flew into the dock with her not-so-good but sufficient flight skills.
Enola was one of the kind of intelligence officers who never announced themselves anywhere. A disadvantage? Maybe. With a steady hand she tried to dock the shuttle
When she reached her destination, she packed her seven things. Enola pulled the padd with her orders out of her bag and held it in her right hand while she threw the strap of the travel bag over her shoulder. Enola left the shuttle and entered the space station.
It took her a moment to get her bearings, and then she took a path that led directly to the bridge. After a few corridors, a turbolift followed. “Computer, stop the turbolift” she ordered when the turbolift was at top speed and sat down on the floor of the lift in a cutting seat to gather her thoughts for a moment and focus on the essentials. The here and now. “Computer, keep driving”, she muttered a beaten minute later and already felt angry looks down her neck. Someone was probably a minute late for a meeting now. Terrible fate.
After another corridor, she had reached OPS and again brushed her uniform. Finally, she ran through the opening doors in front of her, briefly taxing complete equipment, before her two eyes looked for a chief with vulcanic ears and actually spotted a woman in yellow uniform with the rank of MCPO. “Am I correct in assuming that you are Chief Ozu?” Enola asked, pointing to the padd, which she was still holding. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tag Ozu Saya

[ MCPO Ozu Saya - Ops] As soon as the shuttle acknowledged her instructions, Saya returned to the command seat and took a closer look at the PADD that contained all of the details Judy's assistants had left for the time that the captain and first officer were off the station. There it was: New transfer, Ensign Enola, Intelligence. Well, hell. Saya hoped that Starfleet wasn't giving up on their missing officers and beginning to send replacements, even if they were fresh out of the academy. By the time Enola reached Ops, Saya had cleared away the remains of her lunch and was waiting calmly for her to arrive. The instant she saw the slanted brows, her already straight back went even more rigid. Enola wasn't a traditional Vulcan name, as far as she knew, so she hadn't been prepared. As always when encountering a full-Vulcan, Saya became very conscious of the ridges on her nose and the Bajoran-style earring in her left ear. Standing when Enola approached her, Saya answered, ' I am,' and reached for the PADD the other woman held. With a glance down, she quickly ascertained that the woman was in the right place. Saya shook her head. ' I'm sorry, Ensign. I'm afraid Captain Eastman and Commander Baker are both on a mission aboard the Mac, and your immediate supervisor, Commander Harmon, is...also not aboard currently.[fn]https://frontier-rpg.boards.net/thread/996/catching-chain-caldonia-5[/fn] I'm the chief engineer and currently in command of the station.
I do have your room assignment. I can show you where it is, and give you a brief tour of the station, if you wish.' ---------- Tag Enola

Enola let go of the padd so Chief Ozu could take it from her hand. "I see," she replied “A short tour of the station would be good. Perhaps you could explain the current situation and mission on the station to me during this time,” she continued and crossed her arms behind her back.

[ CPO Kaya Som | Deck 26, jeffries tubes ]There were few better ways, they said, to make friends at work then to stare at each other's arses for hours in the jeffries tubes. Deep conversations in close quarters, your most sensitive side exposed - the makings for life-long pals. Kaya might have opted to be honest with S'Riia about how she felt about humans as a social and political force and their obsession with squaring up to Klingons in everything from arms to gagh, but agile S'Riia made a leap of logic that was fair but unexpected. Kaya stopped in her crawling and turned around to fully face S'Riia and searched her face. She found no judgement or pity waiting for her - the question was asked plainly. Kaya thought for a minute. She raked her fingers through her hair and got more comfortable sitting. Then she shook her head. "Nah." She paused then continued. "I could have. There were 'special circumstances'," Kaya made quote fingers. "No court martial. I thought I did, want to leave. But it was more ... I just had to get away." She shrugged. It was complicated. [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Deck 26 Corridor, Front Ear Station ] As Kaya turned to answer the question, S'Riia wasn't sure if her answer was to the first question or the latter. Yet, did it really matter? As the Trill continued on, she pointed out that she could have left the station, but that there were special circumstances. S'Riia felt that if Kaya felt inclined to explain those circumstances in further detail, that she would. She was glad to hear that there was no court martial, but as Kaya went on, it was obvious that there was a great deal more that had gone on than S'Riia currently knew about. "I won't insult you by saying that I get it," S'Riia said. Everyone's journey is different. It's arrogant for people to assume that they knew exactly what anyone was going through. S'Riia took a deep breath. "Selfishly... I'm glad that you're back. And... if I'm being honest, right now I'm watching every other word I'm saying because I don't want to inadvertently say something that makes you want to leave again." A long sigh left S'Riia's lips as she shook her head. "Has anyone told you that you're annoyingly likeable?" S'Riia swallowed. She didn't have many close friends, but she certainly thought of Kaya as one. "And at the risk of sounding like a presumptuous Terran... I'm here if you ever want to talk." S'Riia allowed the words to linger between them, wondering if all Terrans actually spoke like that. "Even about... destinations like Qo'nos? How did that even make the list?"

[ CPO Kaya Som | Jeffries tubes above Deck 26 ]S'Riia didn't frown or judge. Here in the 'tubes, in the space between in the gently moving running lights like a heartbeat, they could just be people for a moment. Kaya laughed lightly as S'Riia paid her compliments and said she was glad Kaya was back and hadn't just disappeared into the galaxy. "You're not terrible either." Kaya didn't want to tell S'Riia that a big reason she'd had to run was how let down she felt by S'Riia's colleagues in security - them and command. In the space of six months, she'd been nearly personally killed twice. "You can say whatever you want. It's no one thing, nothing anyone said or could say," Kaya replied to reassure her friend. Then she moved to get moving down the tube again, remembering their task. Ah ha, and Qo'noS! Kaya explained as she crawled. "Klingons are the furthest from Starfleet I could think of? I don't know. Started as a joke with Charlie Fox and I didn't really think. I just went. People just say exactly what they think there and everything is big. And loud." If she could just drown herself in stimuli, then she could ignore what was inside. And then her tricorder pinged. Conduit nearby wasn't working the way it should. Isaiah Quinn (S'Riia)

Oh, eyebrows. What good were these things above the eyes if you couldn't occasionally pull them up a little to suggest possible skepticism? To be honest, Enola was a little surprised that the captain, the first officer (Enola speculates that Commander Baker is the first officer) and her direct superior weren't on board. When she got to the quarters, she looked around and put her travel bag in the corner. Enola considered for a moment what the most logical way to proceed would be. "I do not assume that our present tense is required for the transfer of my objects. Therefore, I would think it would be more efficient at the moment if we start the tour directly. Then we could take a little more time with it," she replied and posed to the door.
Enola did not want to appear impatient or rude, so she tried to interpret Chief Ozu's body language as best she could to adjust her behaviour to the chief's wishes if necessary. She didn't know how a female Vulcan-Bajoran behaved, not to mention that Ozu was the first she had ever met in this mix. Likewise, Enola didn't know whether the lady in front of her leaned more towards Vulcan or Bajoran values.

Let us start in security, then. I can at least show you the intelligence department office and make introductions if anyone is there. It's quite a small department.' She led the way back into the corridor and to the nearest turbolift, ordering ' Security node,' once they were inside. ' The security node takes the place of one of our docking bays and is accessed via Deck 29. There are seven decks, designated S1 through S7. Intelligence is located on S4.' For the moment, Saya decided not to mention how depressingly cramped the intelligence offices were. It was unfortunate Commander Harmon was still gone. [ Mott Moz | Deck 29 Security Node ]Already present at the docking bay security node, swinging his legs from a chair, was a twelve-year-old Bolian boy slurping some kind of thick, fruity beverage loudly. He'd been caught somewhere no little kid had any business being and dropped at the nearest security node while a parent was located. (No one had time to walk him back down to the civilian decks.) He'd already asked if he was being 'detained' (no) and if he was 'free to go' (also no) several times, but otherwise didn't seem bothered at all. When Chief Ozu arrived with Ensign Enola, Mott Moz straightened up in his chair. He'd been commanded not to get up, so he moved to the very very edge of the chair. He'd been living on the station for a few months now and was getting well acquainted with some of the main players (and vice-versa), including the head of Engineering. (Although he was not allowed in Engineering.) "Chief, I'm under arrest!" he declared proudly. "I'm a security risk." Completely fabricated. The officer staffing the node shook his head to Ozu and Enola. No one had said that. Ozu Saya , Enola

Enola kept pace with Ozu and tried to remember the exact way so as not to get lost if she went here alone. "How big is this station?" she asked in the turbolift before it stopped and apparently the destination was reached. The first thing she noticed, of course, was the blue Bolian. What is that supposed to be, little man? Enola asked herself, but was happy to leave the verbal answer to Chief Ozu. She didn't know the blue, but somehow quite cute little boy in front of her, and with her extremely limited sense of humor, could barely tell if this was just a joke.
She bent down to about the boy's eye level. __________________________________________________________________________

Judging by the Vulcan's reaction, wayward telepathic presences weren't a common occurrence here, so that ruled out an undisciplined scientist... "I was hoping it was someone who worked on the deck," she added as a way to voice her mild concern over the matter. There weren't as many plants in this one, but she moved to their containers anyway, once more not recognizing any of them from the jungle.

Ozu Saya , Enola [Ensign Enola, Deck 14 => Deck 29] Enola kept pace with Ozu and tried to remember the exact way so as not to get lost if she went here alone.
__________________________________________________________________________ [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Security Node] ' It isn't particularly large, especially compared to one of the Citadel-class stations, but the layout can make it seem bigger and more confusing,' Saya answered just before the turbolift opened to deposit them in the security node. Saya caught sight of Mott just before he spoke and was about to ask what he was doing there when he made his announcement. At his words, Saya's eyebrow finally came loose of its mooring and lifted practically to her hairline. She had to compress her lips tightly to keep from laughing outright at his pronouncement (Enola might feel a little of her humor telepathically). She waited a moment until she could speak without laughing, then made formal introductions. ' Ensign Enola, allow me to introduce Mott Moz, one of our station residents. He has a propensity for finding himself in places he shouldn't be.
'I am giving the ensign a tour of the station, and I must take her up to S4.' Saya said this as much for the security officers on duty as for Mott. ' If your mother hasn't come to retrieve you by the time we return, you may accompany us until we reach the promenade.' The young boy certainly wouldn't help her maintain her Vulcan facade, but Saya was finding that after her initial stiffness, she didn't really need to keep it up. By this point, she really didn't care anymore what other Vulcans thought of her; it was just reflex. ---------- Tag Enola and Avi Moz
