[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Talor Prime - Guest Lobby]
Jovireh resisted snapping at the Lieutenant that was showing absolutely no signs of urgency. Did he think there was no reason to secure the room just because the victim wasn't one of their crew? Did he think there was no risk of anyone else being targeted? Her attention shifted back to the Ambassador when he responded to her offer. She was mildly surprised that not only did he not take offense to it, but he actually appreciated it. Though she understood his reason for turning the offer down, and nodded in acceptance of the decision.
Shavan returned swiftly, and she took the items he handed her with thanks. Quickly fixing the com badge to her shirt, and the belt around her waist, she powered on the phaser without removing it from the holster as she quickly crossed the room and handed the tricorder to Commander Ellis. Less than five minutes? Hopefully they'd be able to get him to the ship in time.
Crossing back to her own post at the main entrance, she shook her head when Niles voiced his opinion. "I understand your point, Lieutenant. But we have no jurisdiction here. There's nothing we can do without invitation except for try to save his life and prevent it from happening to anyone else."

[Felicity Ellis - Guest Lobby]
Felicity listened to the Ambassador as he detailed the suspected toxin. When Velal handed her the tricorder she nodded, thankful for the Chief's quick action and for Th'zhaar's swift feet. The scans confirmed for her that T'Rok would die from organ failure quicker than he would lack of air. Talorian physiology was interesting, to say the least, and quite alien compared to their own, as one would expect from a semi-aquatic species. She confirmed that it was safe to transport him.
=/\= "Ellis to Mac. Proceed. Standby to receive those of us currently on leave, and Ambassador L'Sho." =/\=
The unconscious Talorian beamed away in a flurry of light, and Felicity stood. "I'm sorry everyone, but we'll have to return to the ship. I will make alternative arrangements for us." She did not believe that they'd been targeted, nor would they likely be while visiting Talor Prime, but she just could not take the risk. She glanced over at the Ambassador, who was standing still and silent. For the first time since she'd met him, he seemed at a loss. "Ambassador I would strongly suggest you join us on the ship until you can get some clarity on your position here."
L'Sho nodded. At his sides, his fists clenched.
Felicity began gathering up her things, and did a quick headcount. "Next time, we go to Risa."
[Felicity's Quarters, USS Mac]
"T'Rok pulled through."
She was speaking aloud in her quarters, dictating her log to the Computer, strong black coffee in her hand. She'd removed the traditional Talorian garb and pulled on an over-sized rugby jersey and fluffy socks for comfort. It had felt wrong somehow to keep the robes on once they'd left.
"With Ambassador L'Sho's direction, we managed to find a sample of the source of the toxin and formulate an antidote. Because we knew where to look, it did not prove much of a challenge for our Medical team. He is recovering in Sickbay, and I am told the Ambassador has stayed with him.
The former Primary has accepted the offer to remain on the Mac. I have no idea as to the state of current politics on Talor Prime, nor the Ambassador's standing or involvement, but it is clear there was a move made against him. It is unlikely that we will learn anything else from L'Sho himself, and frankly, I don't think many of us are concerned enough to push him.
I have arranged extended holosuite time for the crew, to be used as we take the scenic route back to the Station. We will have to re-arrange their shore leave, which was cut short as a result of the attempt on Ha'la T'Rok's life. Perhaps next time we'll manage a day or two without incident."
She snorted, disbelief evident. "End log."
FIN.
