[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Listening to Max's own philosophy about family not having to be blood, struck an emotional chord with the Betazoid. Realising not for the first time, that it was a sound take on what someone considered to be family. Sure she had her immediate family but over the years, she had established a much larger extended family with those she employed and her friends. Even meeting Riyo she had formed another extension of that and how he had accepted her and her children without doubt or question. All of it seemed more profound and emotional in those short few minutes, although could easily blame it on hormones. " Exactly it does and I've been lucky to call so many people family even with them not being blood" she replied, then grinned at his next comment. " It really is and if you're thirsty at all Max, there's fresh juice in the fridge and of course fresh coffee too or there should be. Oh and if you'd like something sweet, Brooke dropped off some cakes and brownies this morning".She might be on bed rest but that didn't stop Lea from being a good host, even if she couldn't go get it like normal.
tag Judith Eastman [NPC - Max Williams - Family Quarters]"I'll go avail myself to the juice. Anything I can get you?" Max replied, ever courteous, as he stood up and went to do just that. He poured himself a glass, adding in some ice cubes. "You know, you better not give birth while we're away," he called out to Lea in the next room.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade --> Turbolift]Well, this was going to be a long walk. Protocol dictated that she not interrogate the subject until they were being recorded... And she currently had no way to do that without taking her hand off the restrained woman. That was also against protocol... And posed a safety risk to both herself and the person in her custody. However, the Vulcan hadn't denied the assassination, and seemed willing to provide details behind her motive. Perhaps Jovireh could at least... guide the conversation, and repeat the questions asked during the formal interrogation. If the answers changed when they were being recorded, that would reveal a great deal. "So what's your name?" She asked in a conversational tone as they walked.

[ Thea - CMO's Office] Now that she was actually speaking to a relative of Hezula's, Thea still didn't know what to expect or how they would respond to the news that she had to give. Still this wasn't exactly the time for idle small talk or chit chat. It was also apparent that Adzoa might not of known why Hezula had been at the station, which didn't make this any better. Deciding to bite the proverbial bullet, Thea looked to the older woman with silver curly hair. =/\= I'm sorry to inform you that Hezula died a short while ago whilst visiting our station. An investigation has been launched to find the person responsible. However her son did survive and is currently being looked after by our nurses, we wanted to find Hezula's relatives and his next of kin which led me to reaching out to you =/\= Again Thea didn't know how this would be received but at least she had found them and it was now up to Adzoa and whether they would accept the child or not. Of course there was moral side of it, considering who his Mother was but that was something to deal with later.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] " Hmmm, a glass of juice and maybe one of the brownies would be good thank you" Lea replied, unable to resist the call of something sweet and at least this way, she wouldn't be told off for getting out of bed. Lea also appreciated Max thinking of her and as he left, took a moment to adjust her position. That was inevitable really considering that she couldn't stay in one position for very long, not unless she wanted to seize up or be left in discomfort. Shadow, of course didn't budge but merely looked up at her with one eye, before returning to his curled up state. He definitely had the right idea as Max then called to her from the kitchen. Trying not to giggle, Lea answered him although couldn't promise him that she wouldn't. " I'll try not too but it all depends on these two and when they want to make an appearance".Sure they had rough idea of when her due date might be but there was also a chance that they could arrive earlier than that. Thankfully her and Riyo were as prepared as possible and it was pretty much a waiting game now.

She was going to wind up dead sooner or later. =A= "I've no interest in another child, anyway." =A= With that, the elderly Orion hung up.

Hezula was a criminal involved in a plethora of enterprises that harmed our societies. Therefore, it was only logical that she be eliminated, in order to disrupt that."And that was (part of) the truth.

[ Thea - CMO's Office] Well Thea wouldn't of quite put it that way but it was also clear to the CO that Adzoa wasn't the least bit surprised that someone had killed her Niece. Then again considering her notoriety and reputation, Thea could only imagine that it was an occupational hazard when you were a Crime Boss. No wonder she had bodyguards and a number of staff but none of that mattered now as they weren't with her when she had boarded the station. For a moment Thea even felt sorry for Hezula and her fall from grace. =/\= She was shot yes =/\= Thea began, going with the truth rather than make personal judgement on the comments made. Nor was she surprised when Adzoa told her that she had no interest in another child and ended the call before Thea could say anything further. " Well I guess that gives us our answer and now to tell Judy so we can hopefully decide on what happens to him" Thea said to Riyo as she tapped her commbadge, not that she was looking forward to telling her what had happened. =/\= Baker to Ops, we managed to track down an Aunt of Hezula's, who wasn't exactly surprised when I told her what had happened. She also has no interest in taking custody of Hezula's son, so that's something we'll need to discuss, unless anyone has any ideas or suggestions =/\=

[NPC - Max Williams - Family Quarters]Max returned to the bedroom, gracefully balancing two glasses and a brownie in his hands. "They better time it right, or they'll be in big trouble with their uncle Max," he answered Lea, in a joking tone. He was going to have more time to have fun with friends, including friends' kids, soon, now that Judy could shoulder more household chores. It was just in time.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade --> Turbolift]Ah yes, twisting logic and morality to justify murder. Jov clenched her jaw briefly to keep herself from commenting on that. "There are countless criminals in the galaxy. Why did you choose to focus on Hezula?" Of course, Hezula may not have been the first target... Just the first one they knew about. Or she may have been the first on a list of many. Or, this may be more personal than the Vulcan was willing to admit.

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - CMO's Office]Riyo listened silently to the brief conversation between Thea and the Orion woman. It went better than it could have... But he breathed a heavy sigh when the call was ended so abruptly. Since Adzoa hadn't mentioned any other relatives who might be interested in taking in Hezula's son... He had to assume that meant there were none. "I'll run a paternity test on the boy, see if we have his father in the database. If not... I'm sure there are plenty of people on the station who would be happy to adopt him." Had he not been about to become a father of four, Riyo likely would be among them.

[Family Quarters - Civilian Decks] Now feeling more settled following her shift in position, Leanna smiled as Max returned with the glasses of juice and brownie. Lea knew that she could be spoiled and Brooke had outdone herself once again with the sweet treats that she had dropped off. Not only had she been able to chat with her friend but also received snuggles from little adorable Cameron. Lea might be fed up on occasion and ready to be able to move around properly again, do stuff and well just generally not being in bed unless she wanted too. But hopefully it wouldn't be too long before she got to do that. Although she did chuckle this time at Max's comment as she rested her hand over her abdomen for a moment. " Did you hear that you two, we don't want to cause trouble". Naturally she wouldn't receive a verbal response but the unborn twins certainly recognised her voice as they responded by kicking. " Oof .. I think that's a yes they will".Hopefully the brownie and juice would appease them and yet it was immensely reassuring to have two very active babies, especially after the last few weeks.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Kova watched as the Vulcan was escorted away without further incident. And at that point... that was it. Despite moving towards the conflict, Kova hadn't actually engaged in any way. Nor had she truly been involved in its resolution. In many ways, the Andorian felt more marginalized than ever. It was a feeling that Kova had not experienced for quite some time: feeling useless. Regardless of her reputation as an isolationist, the Andorian had found ways to be an active participant in her community. At least... until today. It wasn't a sensation that she cared for. Of course, she did have a sense of pride. There would be no crawling back and seeking the position that she once held before. It was possible that she could always leave. In fact, it had been a thought she'd been entertaining for some time. Her feet began to carry her back to where she left Zyri. Along the way, she revisited the thoughts she'd entertained sense she had severed her working arrangement with Starfleet. There was always the Gamma Quadrant, but Kova didn't care for that idea. Someone may find a way to actually collapse the wormhole and she'd find herself stuck thousands of light years away. She had also given Serenity some serious consideration. As Kaya would point out... they did have beer. As she finally approached the are outside the Blue Beta, she could see Zyri was there with Staz of all people. The Andorian rolled her eyes. The Ochiran probably wasn't the best influence for Zyri. Still, she remained cordial... or at least what passed as such for the Andorian... with a nod. She then turned her eyes to Zyri. "After all this excitement, your father is probably concerned. It may be best to calm him with your presence." She then gestured with her head towards the turbolifts. "Staz." It was bout as close to a goodbye as the Ochiran would get. Regardless of what came next, Kova was certain of one thing: It was time for a change.
[NPC - Zyri Zh'raal - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Zyri wasn't entirely certain if this woman, Staz, fully grasped the difference between suggestions and orders. Still, it wasn't her place to correct the woman. As her father had told her often, things were very different hear on the station compared to how she'd grown up on the Mac. When asked if she was Kova's sister, Zyri wasn't entire certain how to answer. "Um... no," she said shaking her head. She definitely wasn't Kova's sister. Yet, Kova had proven to be a rather private person. So, perhaps this wasn't her story to tell. "I suppose you could say we're... distant relatives."That wasn't a lie. Biologically, Kova Sh'qaleq was her shreya, but not this Kova Sh'qaleq. Before she could stretch the extent of the truth any further, Kova returned and appeared to be unharmed. A sigh of relief left Zyri's lips. Of course, Kova was quickly all business and pointed out the concern her father likely experienced when everything had gone down. That was certainly one possibliity. "You may be right," she replied. "But he knew I was with you. So... he may not be as worried."Zyri began to collect the rest of her belongings. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Staz," the young hybrid said as she began to move in the direction that Kova had indicated.
