[ Ariana & Leanna - Park, Deck 6] Now that Lea had heard from Seamus and confirmed that the bar was ready to help with those who may need it. The Betazoid could feel some of the earlier worry and concern ebb away despite whatever lurked within the shadows. Not that she could forget that particular image as something still bugged her about it and the way they had acted. So either she was going crazy thanks to the sudden light from the darkness or it meant something. However when Kyo moved over to the children and had Evekh join him in singing the Bajoran version of the birthday song, the melodies from father and son, started to sooth her. For Leanna music and singing always seemed to calm her, allowing her to become lost in the lyrics and the beat and forget anything that was troubling her. Although she still couldn't shake the feeling she had associated with the shadows, despite the encouragement from Ariana to sing with them. No she had to focus on the music and fought against whatever this was as she began to sing along. Ari thought it was wonderful and clapped along as she sang, whilst her mother sought solace with the other voices until it came to an end and Judy issued another order. Even as the Eastman - Williams family sang the more classic version, Lea became slightly distracted and not by Ari who thought it was hilarious as she sang along. The reason for her distraction became apparent as she saw the shadow approach Judy, something that Max picked up on. " I saw something too, in fact I keep seeing them and something isn't right" she whispered to the adults, before Helen asked about the Betazoid birthday song. " Mama, can we sing it please"." Of course we can little one".Ignoring the dread in her stomach, Lea focused on the song and then started to sing it in standard along with Ariana. " Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You.
Happy Birthday to Ariana, Happy Birthday to You.
From good friends and true, from old friends and new.
May good luck go with you and happiness too".
tag Ozu Saya Judith Eastman [ Domen Kyo - Park] Evekh giggled delightedly at Helen's modification of the birthday song. It was much more interesting than the boring normal one, even better than the Bajoran one, which was his favorite. Kyo sang along with the other songs, but kept an ear on what Judy and Lea were saying when they spoke through their comms. He was resisting the urge to call Saya and make sure she was okay. Even with the lights back on, there seemed to be something a little off. It was one of those times that Kyo felt all but useless. Oh, he could help take care of the kids and keep them calm, but he regretted not having more applicable skills than music.
Tag Judith Eastman and Leanna Mazal [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Max Williams, & Grandchildren - Park]"That's nice," Helen said of the Betazoid birthday song. Not as clever as what she had sung, but not bad, either. As Judy rubbed her left eye, she saw, through her right eye, a shadow seem to walk out of her. She was naturally startled, although Max's arm around her kept her from physically jumping. "I think I know what you're talking about now," she whispered to the adults. "This is weird."She took a tricorder out of her handbag, ran a brief scan of the area, and shook her head. "I'm not seeing anything I can work with," she summarized. "What are we thinking?"This would've been easier to deal with from Ops, with trained scientists on hand, but Judy supposed her civilian friends would suffice as a Brain Trust, for now. Fleetingly, Max saw a shadow, very similar to the one Judy had seen earlier, seem to stand over something.
Tag Leanna Mazal and Ozu Saya [Throughout the Station]A few shadows, here and there, moved with what seemed to be a sense of purpose. Perhaps they were carrying tools, or tinkering with something, or manipulating some kind of control panel. Perhaps this is a trick of the imagination, or perhaps not. Others still seemed erratic

[ Ariana & Leanna - Park, Deck 6] " Tis my favourite, although I did love yours and Evekh's" Ari declared, her cheeks still a little flushed from singing so enthusatically, before reaching for a piece of chicken and her fruit juice. The children may of appeared as though nothing was potentially going on around them, but Leanna couldn't ignore or pretend that the shadows were still present. In between Kyo's worry about Saya and what Judy was experiencing, it was becoming obvious that they weren't just having an effect on her. So when Judy agreed with her and whispered to them all, before taking out her tricorder, it was good to know that she wasn't imagining it all, not that she could with the feeling she had. Still it gave some reassurance to the Betazoid, as Judy then informed them, that she couldn't see anything to work with and asked what they were thinking it could be. That was easy for Lea to answer as she looked at her friends. " I can sense them and I believe that they're also telepaths but it's weak ... I could try sending a message to them?".

A credit to engineering - Neme was not confident such effectiveness would have been possible under the former commander Parsinp. The newly illuminated Blue Beta confirmed the young woman's evaluation, that no medical assistance was required. The disruption had, in fact, been catered. Neme arched a sharp eyebrow. "Very well. I'll see to other locales. Contact medical immediately should the need arise," they said and left the Blue Beta to attend to their own affairs. Neme spotted Bremmer and moved to join her. It was not hard to miss Aune and the fact that a medic was needed. Neme arrived at the security office, tricorder already going. "Second and third degree burns," they surmised moving the stylus above Aune's hands. "Significant nerve damage. Immediate local anesthesia, initial dermal regeneration called for on-site, nerve repair in sickbay." Neme lifted the stylus to Aune's head. "No signs of concussion." They reached into the med kit for a hypospray to get those hands out of pain. "Are you otherwise -- " Suddenly, Neme snapped their gaze to the left and bristled into high alert. Otherwise I'd love....Ohh..." =A= his head throbbed and he felt woozy. Leaving the comm off at this time. "You two, stop." he said as Sorrin was about to make his logical rebuttal. He kept his mouth shut. "We need to get out of here, and as far as I can tell, the only way we can short this is with a power pack. Any ideas?"
Just then the power tried to restore, but the blown relays prevented the magnets from disengaging. One of the lines sparked and snapped. He eyed it. "I have an idea..." He saw it again, shadows on the wall, but when he looked at them, there was nothing there. He ignored it. Right now they needed out. He grabbed the sparking line taking a shocking blow. But he held on hissing through his teeth. He jabbed the end into the magnetic servo assembly. There was pop as he was thrown backwards and the magnets blew apart. He looked like he'd been thrown around, and one hand was heavily burnt, and a smell reminiscent of a Sunday pork roast floated through the air. Kova jumped at the sound of the loud pop, though it was more the aftermath than the actual pop that was a real shock. Sven had took hold of one of the live wires and grabbed the locking mechanism on the door. Essentially, using himself as a wire to feed power into the latch. The sight of him literally smoking and the acrid scent of burned flesh was all the evidence she needed. He'd lost it. "What in the actual hell?!" Kova called out as she moved across the office towards him. Sure he had gotten the door open, but there was assuredly an easier way. One perhaps, where pink-skins didn't decide to impersonate a slab of scroched beef. And just like that, Sven was back to giving orders. He was more concerned about determining if their files were secure and if they'd been hacked. There was also the added bonus that he'd flushed the Vulcan, Sorrin, out the door with all due haste. "Sabotaged? How'd you ever arrive at such a theory? Kova stated with all due sarcasm. Surely, Sven could read that. She tapped away at her console, attempting to do as he asked. "If anyone tried to access the files, they most likely attempted to do so remotely. Nevertheless, there's an additional layer of encryption that should kick in if our files are not accessed on the station or by an authorized user. It'll keep them busy enough until...." she had been checking to see if files had been accessed when they were joined by someone else. Crewman Bremmer was the first to arrive from the promenade. After making her way in, she quickly asked after him. Sven tried to minimize his actions, but still had enough sense to ask for a medic. "You shocked yourself," Kova corrected him as he said he had opened a door. "And truth be told, your imitation of an EPS relay kinda sucks." Sven mentioned seeing something, a shadow. He then mused about the idea of thinking he was going crazy. "I think it's safe to say you've passed crazy and are bordering deranged. If that wire had been at full strength...."Before too long, a voice could be heard going on about second and third degree burns. Kova looked up and sighed heavily as she rolled her eyes. "Aw, not another one," she mumbled to herself at the sight of the Vulcan doctor. Still, Sorrin seemed to go out of his way to be a pain in Kova's blue backside. Perhaps this one would be different. She went on to treat him, but seemed to have a similar reaction as had Sven. And she too mentioned shadows. Kova closed her eyes a moment. It seemed the crazy was possibly infectious. Though, just as any Vulcan would, she had a hypothesis: living shadows. Sven then asked if Kova could contact ops. For a moment, Kova stood there, pondering. "You want me to co ntact Ops to tell them that random shadows are running around the station?" she asked. It sounded even crazier out loud. If anything, they'd send down a couple of straight jackets for these two. Kova had to make certain that no one looped her in with this bunch. "Yeah... sure. I can do that. Kova proceeded to open the channel. "Just make sure you're real specific about who saw what." Meanwhile, Kova's attention shifted to her console. The only shadows she was looking for were those attached to humanoids fumbling around in areas that they had no business being in. Though, for the time being, the last thing she wanted to do was feed into Sven and the Vulcan doctor's delusions. So, she remained tight-lipped on her current search for any signs of infiltration.

"I'm not going to pretend to be an engineer, but there's other ways to short out a door than reaching in," Bremmer simply grumbled. There had been no need to call for a medic as Ensign Neme had followed her in, but it would seem her presence was bothering the blue-skinned alien. Now which species was she again?? Lurian? That didn't sound right. Lissepian? No, not that either... Oh, right, Bolian, they were blue, right? Well, if there was some kind of bad blood between Bolians, or at least that individual, and Vulcans, the Crewman certainly didn't know about it, and unless it would turn into a brawl, she didn't really want to know about it either. However, at the mention of shadows, which seemed to draw an incredulous response, Eliska's eyes snapped towards the Lieutenant. So he'd seen them too? Well then... "Ell-Tee? Those shadows that don't belong, it's not getting yourself zapped talking, or banging your head. I've seen them too. But the moment you look at them head-on, you lose them. |Blue Beta Bar and Grill| Xander McGrath | Sherry X. |Xander was hopeful that the generator would at least kick on. He crossed is fingers, as childish as that was, but it was a superstition that he could never shake. As Seamus kicked the device over there was a glimmer of hope, but when that too failed.... "Is it suppose to do that?" he inquired. But it didn't matter. A few minutes later the station's power came back online. He followed Seamus back into the main bar, then headed over to the door and propped it open. He began to call to the scared people on the promenade, "We have food and drink in here while Star Fleet figures out what's going on."Then he saw it. Two shadows, hunched over what looked like a long and tall box. Almost as if they were working on it. But when he focused his eyes upon it, it vanished. "Seamus!" he called in a panicked voice. "SEAMUS! I could have sworn I saw two figures working on.... something." He pointed to a blank wall. Sherry on the other hand was sitting at her table, dinking with her nail polish. When the lights flickered back on, she make some off handed remark about Star Fleet finally getting their collected hides in gear as a girl cannot look fabulous in the absence of light. And then she saw it too, and let off a ear piercing scream knocking her polish over. "AAAAAAHHHH!" The red paint dripping into a puddle on the floor. She pointed at the same wall as Xander, though once she focused on it, there was nothing there. Tag Thea Baker [ Anya, Seamus & Jack - Blue Beta] " Thank you, we will" Anya responded, before the security officer left in order to check on other locations. The Server watched her leave, silently wishing them well in their search, then got back to work, especially with the power coming back on. As for Seamus, he was relieved to hear from Leanna when his friend and boss, checked in with him, which made him pause slightly to answer her, leaving Xander to make his announcement to those who might be outside and needed some refuge from the strangeness that had happened. Ending the call with Lea, Seamus looked around the bar, glad to have things relatively back to normal, that was until Xander called out to him in a scared and panicked voice. The Irishman rushed over to the other man and followed his gaze towards the now blank wall as he explained what he had seen. However before he could answer him and try to calm him, there was another scream from the woman who had helped them earlier, watching as the nail varnish began to drip on the floor. " Okay I'm not sure what you saw ... but Jack get them something for the shock until we can figure out what's going on".Jack nodded in acknowledgement and made for the bar, where he poured two large shots of whiskey and returned, handing one to Xander before placing the other in front of Sherry. " Drink and I'll clean this up".
tag Sven Aune |Blue Beta Bar and Grill || Xander | Sherry X.|Xander wasn't prone to panic attacks. And what brought that on? A simple shadow? No, that wasn't like him. He stood there, fist clenched and heart racing. His mind shot back to the moment he was shot by the terrorist.... "I...Yes. Sorry." he said shakily. He moved to the bar where Jack had made some sort of drink. Sherry sat there pale as can be. And given all of her bravado from before, she was shaken to her core. She cast about the establishment with a wild eye, calculating escape routes. One hand unconsciously reached into her clip bag and she didn't respond to Jack. Xander placed a hand on her shoulder and she jumped out of her skin. What was in her purse, was not in her hand and he held it up next to her. "NO!" she screamed standing suddenly. Xander's panic attack returned and he instinctively covered his injured arm. Tag Thea Baker

At the suggestion Neme go scanning about for the visitors, Neme shook their head to themself. They were medical, not science, not security. What next, command doing triage? Please. She was wasted on hunting down yet another infestation on this station. "Hold still. You have open wounds, Lieutenant," Neme said, switching to the dermal regenerator. This would have to be a patch job, appropriate for an emergent situation. It took no more than a couple minutes for the first and second degree burns to be completely healed over and for the third degree burns moved out of critical. Neme returned Aune's hands to him, then grudgingly calibrated their tricorder. Sven Aune

"Okay," she was going to make this Andorian work for his dare, "I dare you to tell me all this nerdy stuff you're working on in a seductive and sexy way!"She sat on the counter with her leg crossed. "Oh, and now that power is back up, you may want to make backups of all your files." she smiled. +-+-+-+-+-+
|Promenade, outside the Shining Quartz || Opal Peridot |"Serek's teachings are wise, and I know that even the Horta have benefitted from them." she began, but when the Vulcan expressed concern for some sort of shadow, the only thing that Opal could do was quiver. "I don't see light and dark, as you do." she said sadly. "I can tell you this, I don't sense anything over there." It was true. All she could sense was a void. The lights flickered back on. "Oh good." she said as her hologram flickered back to life. Across the way she heard Xander call out. The Blue Beta was offering a place of refuge. She made an announcement. "Everybody, I think we should move to the Blue Beta, post haste. And bring those crystals with you. Who knows if power will go out again." [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Science Lab] Shavan laughed. He may have had plenty of experience with seduction, but even he didn’t know how to sound alluring while talking about backing up files. So he adopted a similar teasing tone. “Well, I don’t usually mix work and pleasure.” He leaned in close to Alice, while reaching around with one hand to power up the computer station behind her. “But for you..”His gaze trailed over Alice’s lips. And then he froze for a second. In his peripheral vision, another moving shadow. This time it definitely looked like a figure. Again, it disappeared when he looked at it directly. But it would be unwise to dismiss it now. “You should know, I’m not sure we're alone.”Shavan quickly moved around Alice, giving the computer his full attention and scanning for life signs and energy that should not be there, both currently and in the last records before the power outage. There was still nothing of note detected, and according to sensors there was no one else with them in the lab. But for a split second he saw it again; what looked like the shapes of two people walking. And in the back of his mind a few theories began to form. _______ [ T’Laara - Promenade -> Blue Beta Bar] “Oh. I thought I saw a shadow move back in the shop.” Now that she explained it aloud, it sounded most illogical. To cover it up she quickly dropped the subject, focusing on Opal’s announcement instead. “Yes, people might be more comfortable there.” Now that the power was back on they didn’t need the crystals for light, or to overstay their welcome in front of the lapidary. The Blue Beta would have more room, places to sit and food. Still holding her crystal, she followed Opal and the rest of the group who had joined them. It was a short walk down the Promenade to the Blue Beta. “Hello. I hope you have room for a few more.” She greeted the people working there and sat in an empty chair. "Is there anything we can do to help?" she added out of politeness, noticing the slight disarray. Tag Sven Aune , Leanna Mazal

Others still seemed erratic [ Ariana & Leanna - Park, Deck 6] " Tis my favourite, although I did love yours and Evekh's" Ari declared, her cheeks still a little flushed from singing so enthusatically, before reaching for a piece of chicken and her fruit juice. I could try sending a message to them?".
tag Judith Eastman Ozu Saya[ Domen Kyo - Park] Kyo hadn't noticed any of the strange shadows up to this point, but he certainly saw the one that, bizarrely, seemed to come from inside Judy. Now he was really worried for Saya, and his gaze turned to the kids to make sure none of the shadow beings was hanging around them. They seemed clear, and still happily eating their food. I'm not sure, Kyo said, his tone tense. What if it provokes them with the kids here? Do you think we could try to get them somewhere else, first? If only he could be as protective of Saya as they both were of Evekh. It was one reason they'd come to the station - quite a bit safer than being on a starship.

[ Chief Ozu Saya - Main Engineering] Saya was up and checking systems as soon as dim lights came up. Not full power; too many blown relays. Computer, run a level 3 diagnostic on all systems and report. As the computer beeped an acknowledgment, Saya's gaze caught on shadows against the far wall - two of them seeming bent over some sort of work. She looked sharply around, trying to see if the shadows were cast by some engineers working at a station, but no one was in a similar position, and the lighting was too dim and wrongly placed anyway. The chief soft-stepped across the deck, eyes intent on the shadows and wondering if these would disappear as those which had obviously been in her office had done.

"I'm not going to pretend to be an engineer, but there's other ways to short out a door than reaching in," Bremmer simply grumbled. You can only see them out the corner of your eye. Won't lie, that's weirding me out some." | Security office, Promenade || lt. Sven Aune |Sven turned his hand over as the medic worked on it. At least he didn't have a concussion. That was good despite having had his head slammed earlier. And he was glad for the anesthetic. He looked between Neme and Bremmer. They have been seeing them too. It wasn't just him. "Yes, Kova, tell them that we have been getting reports of shadows around the promenade." it was such a strange thing, but at least he knew he wasn't crazy. "And can you access internal sensors to see if there has been any unusual readings?"He turned his attention to Bremmer. "Have you ever been trapped in a small confined space with a Vulcan and Andorian hashing out old wounds? No? Then I wouldn't be so hasty to criticize decisions to get away from them." He paused. "Right now, I don't think the security office is the best place. Not with blown relays, a down EPS and a wrecked door. I wonder if Lea would let us set up a small redoubt in the Blue Beta. Bremmer, I'm setting you in charge of checking up on all of the establishments on the promenade. Make sure the shop keepers are safe and there is no looting. Stay in contact with Neme if you need a medic. Neme, can you see if you can get a reading with a medical tricorder? A life sign. Anything?" If there were more reports of people seeing shadows, then said reports needed to be collected and collated and sent to science and ops for any kind of correlation. [ Seamus & Jack - Blue Beta] " No need to apologise, something like that is bound to be unsettling" Seamus replied reassuringly, before Xander joined Jack at the bar, to hopefully lessen the shock with a shot of the decent whiskey. Having seen strange and unexplained things before, the Irishman wasn't one to dismiss if something had scared those under his employ or the customers and certainly wasn't a disbeliever either. However until these shadows reappeared or they could figure out what they were and what they wanted, Seamus decided that he would remain vigilant as the last he wanted was for someone to get hurt. Although when he heard another scream coming in the direction of Sherry, he looked over as Jack approached the now standing Sherry and Xander who was clutching his previously injured arm. Seamus knew that Jack could handle it as the other Barman then asked them both. " What happened?, was it the Shadows again?".Seamus remained close by should he be needed, that was until as a small group entered the bar and was asked if they had room for more and if they needed help with anything by a Vulcan woman he didn't recognise. " Oh yes we have plenty of room and not that I can think of at the moment, but please help yourselves to the food and refreshments, if there's anything else you would like, please let one of us know" He said, keeping his tone light and jovial, as he recognised Opal amongst them. " Hey Opal, I'm happy to see that you're okay".

Tag Sven Aune , Leanna Mazal |Science Lab || Alice Duff|Alice grinned, she was having fun despite their circumstances. But he playful demeanor changed when Shvaan suggested they weren't along. "What do you mean?" she wasn't afraid of being caught being flirty. No, that was just how she was. She was concerned about the spooky unknown. Tag @shavann +-+-+-+-+-+ |Blue Beta || Opal |Opal was pleased to see Seamus. "Hello, she greeted sliding into the bar followed by a group of people she gathered from the promanade. She introduced T'Laara. "This is T'Laara. I hope you don't mind. We brought some of my crystals from the shop. Who knows if power will go out again. She moved to the bar. "Is there anything we can help with? There's a lot of concerned people. And I haven't heard anything from command or engineering. Whatever this is, it's pretty serious." Tag Thea Baker @shavaan [ Seamus & Jack - Blue Beta] " No need to apologise, something like that is bound to be unsettling" Seamus replied reassuringly, before Xander joined Jack at the bar, to hopefully lessen the shock with a shot of the decent whiskey. " Hey Opal, I'm happy to see that you're okay".
tag Sven Aune Shavan Th'zhaar |Blue Beta || Xander | Sherry X.|Xander still felt silly, as he rubbed his arm. He nodded. "Some sort of shadow thing. I swear it." he said. Sherry was disturbed, "I don't know what they are.." she said trying to regain composure. They weren't who she originally thought they were, and she was grateful for that. But they were still a mystery. "All I know is this station has some serious problems. Why I came here I'll never know. Just then a Horta slid into the bar and a look of loathing fell upon her face. [ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] Lea could understand both Kyo's tense tone and his concern for the children, especially with these shadows being a complete unknown in terms of friendliness and their actions so far. In fact the Betazoid was still trying to comprehend what their intentions were, even from detecting their mild telepathic ability until she could attempt to communicate with them. That seemed the next logical step as Judy answered a call from Security, before sharing with them that they weren't safe anywhere, especially if the shadows were responsible for their current predicament. She could very well be right and Lea didn't like the idea of moving the children now, not until they knew more. " I agree, we're better off staying put until we can learn more" Lea added, before Judy turned to her and suggested that her message to the shadows should be simple, telling them that they meant well and understood the reasoning behind it, since they didn't know anything about them. " Good idea" she replied as Max came up with a way to distract the children, something that was a hit with Ariana as she stood. " Yes please Max".With Ari successfully distracted, Lea could focus on sending the message, that was until the power went out again, which only added to the pressure as she reached out to them telepathically. We mean you no harm, we only have good intentions ***************** [ Seamus & Jack - Blue Beta] " Thank you, they'll definitely be useful if it does and welcome to the Blue Beta, T'Laara" Seamus replied warmly to Opal's introduction and the extra light sources that they had brought with them, which would certainly make things a little more brighter alongside what they had left on and around the tables. When Opal also asked if they needed help and mentioned not only the concerned people, but also commented on the situation. Seamus appreciated the offer and could understand her thoughts on the matter. " I think we've got it covered and I imagine there will be as I agree this is definitely serious".Meanwhile Jack listened as Xander and Sherry explained what had caused them both to freak out and it wasn't too much of a surprise when they confirmed that it was the shadows again. Although that didn't stop the shiver going down his spine, before Sherry then insulted Opal, which had Jack look at her. " I suggest that you apologise Sherry, that's Opal our Horta friend who runs the Shining Quartz on the Promenade".Whether or not Sherry saw heard or not was another matter as the power went out again, leaving them in almost darkness, before the solar lights began to shine. " Okay everyone, stay calm, lets get more lights going".

[ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Promenade, Blue Beta ]Neme had begun to comply with Lieutenant's orders-disguised-as-a-suggestion but the station powered down again. Once again, nearly absolute darkness. Shouts rang out from all over the promenade but nothing that sounded like more than frustration or surprise. Neme let their arm fall to their side and massaged the bridge of their nose. Flashlight on, tricorder up, Neme trailed after the security office group back towards the Blue Beta. Neme took their time, trying to stay on the edge, trying to resentfully recreate the conditions where they'd last seen the shadow. Slowly panning the flashlight, tuning into the peripheral vision, ready for the flicker of something that didn't belong.
