[ Cwm Layne Bira - Delirium, Lower Promenade, Front Ear Station] The Delerium. Looking up at the name of the establishment verifying she had come to the right place tonight, Bira grinned. She was certain that this would be the kind of place that people would come looking for a bit of detachment from reality. For her part, being in a new place, she was well aware that the best spot to get a feel for an area was to check out a local watering hole. As luck would have it, a fairly well advertised establishment was having an opening this very night. Bira had pulled out a blue two piece kulat outfit, slapped a silver chain belt round her hips, and headed out the door ready to relax. Upon entering the establishment, her eyes were immediately taken by the tall gentleman surrounded by well wishers, she assumed from the snippets of conversation she overheard, and understood this must be the owner himself, Pieter. She quirked a smile in his general direction, tipped her head, and moved toward the bar. Hopefully the man would have a successful business. There were a few people at the bar but still enough room for her to get an elbow up and wedge her hips round to cause thetrons to make more. Polite smiles and little nods of her head by way of thanks and then she turned her attention to business. Ordering whatever Bajoran Ale they had on tap, she figured it would be a tame enough drink to keep her from losing her head but enough to keep up the appearances of socializing the night away. Folding her hands together, she rest her both forearms along the edge of the bar claiming quite a bit of territory for her personal space; she wasn’t one who liked to be crowded up against and she wasn’t shy about inserting herself into most situations. So far people seemed to be enjoying themselves, and as she settled in to await her drink she scanned the faces of those gathered round. Immediately her eyes picked out Eliska and she smiled at the young girl. No doubt she would get a chance to speak to her and they might even enjoy a drink or two together. The bartender brought over her ale and set it on a napkin before her. Thanking him she reached for the glass and took a sip while letting her eyes travel about the rest of the patrons. That is when she saw Ari leaning against the wall behind the crowd of people. Loath to tempt fate or flaunt generations of traditions, she also couldn’t see accepting the situation as impossible to navigate either. Ignoring him, and an officer to boot, was not going to be possible nor was it very professional. That it was the last thing she wished to do didn’t hurt either. She had begun to move down the bar, her formerly claimed territory filled up rapidly with a couple of Ferengi talking about how disgusting she looked in clothes but they barely registered with her at all. She failed to realize one of them must have stolen her silver belt during the interim. Her mind was not on security, clearly. Pausing in her movement, she rethought going over to intrude on his solitude. What she needed was to take her cues from Ari. Lifting her ale in the air, she made as though to toast him across the room and took a small sip of her ale. Ari Kiax Eliska Bremmer Soft tag Leanna Mazal for Pieter

[ Leanna - Delirium] The hug that she received from Pieter had certainly added to Leanna's confidence and the Betazoid had appreciated such a warm welcome as Pieter's hugs always did the trick, even if you didn't necessarily need one. There was a silent thanks as he let go as Max took one of the forementioned cocktails and Leanna wasn't far behind him as she was also handed one. Looking around the club was heaving already and she couldn't of wished for a better opening night for her friend, as she noticed Charlie with Olsen who had captured images of their entrance, as well as other newcomers to the station. Having new people to talk to was always a bonus as Judy asked for a glass of water, before Max sampled the cocktail which clearly had a punch judging by his reaction and Judy's gentle caution to her husband. It was nice to see her concern as she then commented about his reaction. " Pacing ourselves is a good idea, but if it's that punchy then I'm all for it, can't remember the last time I had a decent drink".Not wanting to waste any time, Lea then took a long sip, enjoying the fruity flavour that was quickly followed by a sharp kick, before it mellowed out. " Mmm such a delicious punch".******************** [ Pieter - Delirium] Seeing Leanna and having his hug appreciated had the right effect on the gentle giant as if it wasn't for Lea, he might never of done this. However that thought was quickly replaced by a knowing grin as Max reacted to the drink, before his wife asked for a glass of water. " It's no hassle at all and if you need more, I'll have a pitcher brought to your table and if you do want a small bite, we have a hot and cold buffet to showcase our new menu so please help yourselves".When Lea also reacted to the first sip, Pieter grinned again and gave a quick response in his usual playful manner. " Oh yes .. it definitely has a punch on purpose, but there's more where that came from".As more people entered, Pieter acknowledged them and his staff didn't hesitate to intervene as one of them approached Evi and George. " Welcome to Delirium, would both of you like a cocktail?".********************* [ Nix - Delirium] After serving the rather attractive dark haired Bajoran, Nix soon found herself the focus of two Ferengi who clearly didn't like the fact that the female staff and patrons were clothed. However despite the urge to tell them straight that they didn't have to stay if they didn't like it, she just smiled and filled their drink requests. That's until she spotted one of them taking the silver belt as the dark haired Bajoran moved off into the crowd and Nix knew that she couldn't let them get away with it and neither would Pieter. So she grabbed hold of the culprit's lobes and ignored his whimpers as she spoke to him firmly. " Unless you want me to hurt you further, I suggest you give the lady her belt back as we don't tolerate thieves in this establishment and I won't hesitate to ban you both".To prove her point Nix squeezed a little harder until the Ferengi relented and handed over the belt. Then she let go and tried to get Bira's attention discreetly as the Ferengi muttered about Feemale's and left with his companion.

Without delay, Charlie placed her glass down on the table and leaned in a little closer toward the newbie, seemingly ready to divulge. "Well, Phoebe Volante, my answer will depend entirely on why you might want to keep your eye on folks, and whether or not you have a specific type."She grinned, suddenly having fun and wondering if Pieter might not be the only thing of interest in the nightclub after all. "Oh, unless you mean in a strictly professional capacity, of course."[Ens. Phoebe Volante - Dilirium] Phoebe's smirk wavered slightly at the sudden misunderstanding of what she meant, purposeful as it probably was. She took another sip of drink and reaffirmed the grin, "Well, seeing as though you more than likely know everyone better than anyone, I don't see why we couldnt mix a bit business and pleasure. Makes it more fun that way."Her mind suddenly raced after what she had just said. 'Did I really just say that? I did. It's fine, people say that kind of thing all the time, right? Ahhhh...' The internal screaming continued for a few seconds before stopping and coming up with at least something, "But from what I hear, you can be trouble yourself. Perhaps I should start by keeping an eye on you?" The usually pale woman could feel the blood rushing through her cheeks turning them a lovely shade of red. Was this flirting? Was this business? Was it both? Phoebe certainly had no idea but luckily there was plenty of booze around to prop up her lack of social experience. This night may end up more memorable than she had intended. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Delirium]Judy nodded gracefully as Pieter worked to accommodate them. Judging by the little sip that she got of the cocktail, she really was missing out; aging truly wasn't all puppies and rainbows and grandbabies. "Lea, you don't have to go with us, but I think we should sit somewhere off to the side. It's hard to lose your inhibition when the boss is in your line of sight," she suggested. "Judy almighty, destroyer of fun," Max teased. "She's not wrong.""I'm never wrong."With the banter out of their system, the older couple made their way off to the side. They found a table, next to where a bearded Trill man was standing. "Is it alright if we sit here?" Max asked the man.

[Charlie Fox - Delirium]"You're welcome to try," Charlie said, and managed to keep a lid on the amused laugh that threatened to burst loose. She'd been surprised, maybe a little caught off-guard by the wallflower's quick response. Well, she couldn't say she disagreed with the sentiments overall; it was sometimes interesting to mix a bit of business with pleasure. And making friends with the Security staff seemed to be something she was getting a taste for. "But there are many to watch on the Station, and you have only two eyes. Nice as they are." She picked up her drink again and turned to the side, hiding her grin in her glass as her gaze swept the club for her first target. "I'm always happy to help my compatriots in Starfleet." She took a few moments to study the guests of Pieter's club, which seemed to be rapidly filling up. "Okay, see that short human bloke at the bar, the one eyeing up the brunette in the sexy blue? His name is Harcourt. The man is 90% deviant, 10% poet. Has a thing for feet. Now, I'm not one to judge, Phoebe Volante, to each their own, but Harcourt has been forcibly removed from the Day Spa on several occasions for slipping into the treatment rooms. His poems are quite decent, though."She took another sip, and hummed distractedly before landing on the next lucky player. "Ah. Over there on the sofa, sandwiched on each side by two chicks who look like they'd rather be anywhere else, is Slilick, proprietor of What Lies Beneath, the "lingerie" shop." She raised one hand and curled her fingers into air quotes before continuing, "Also known locally as the Boom-Boom Room. For... reasons."Charlie was keen to move on from that one. She had quite a bit of work tied up in it, so she wasn't about to go sending a green Ensign on the trail. "The ferengi having a temper tantrum at the entrance is Brack the Legendary, as he often refers to himself. Owns the Twilight Hotel & Casino. Dreadfully jealous of Pieter, and, well, everyone."

[ Ens. Ari Kiax - Delirium] Ari was half way through his third free cocktail, quite bored, having felt like he’d already missed his chance to introduce himself to anyone. Everyone he could see was already paired up and the idea of forcing his presence into a group was a little too… bold for a man of his social inadequacies, especially these days. He was half-disappointed, half-relieved, that no one had approached him thus far. Still at this point he was just thinking of leaving altogether, he’d always had a strong tolerance for alcohol but he swore that it had only gotten stronger since the joining despite having absolutely no empirical evidence for the fact. Still it’d take a few more of these “Delirium” cocktails before he would get drunk so may it would be best to just give up instead of hanging around on his own for an hour or two. [ Cwm Layne Bira - Delirium, Lower Promenade, Front Ear Station] That is when she saw Ari leaning against the wall behind the crowd of people. Loath to tempt fate or flaunt generations of traditions, she also couldn’t see accepting the situation as impossible to navigate either. Ignoring him, and an officer to boot, was not going to be possible nor was it very professional. That it was the last thing she wished to do didn’t hurt either. His gaze floated across the crowd pausing as he came across a familiar sight. The first thought was ‘Damn’! Then he silently reprimanded himself as he forced down a dead man’s emotions. Reassociation leads to dissociation. Remember that moron. Still he couldn’t help the warm and open smile that crossed his features as she raised her glass in his direction. Ari raised his in return and gestured for the woman to join him. He would leave it up to Layne to decide what to next, for all he knew she wanted to avoid him and was just being polite. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Delirium]With the banter out of their system, the older couple made their way off to the side. They found a table, next to where a bearded Trill man was standing. "Is it alright if we sit here?" Max asked the man. Downing the rest of his cocktail the slightly tipsy Trill turned as a couple approached the table next to him. Now Ari didn’t know many of his new colleagues but he had run an eye across the USS Mac roster the other day and whilst most of the faces blurred together after a few days those towards the top of the command structure had not. “Commander?” The words slipped from his lips before he could catch himself. Silently cursing himself he turned his focus to the unfamiliar looking man who was accompanying the First Officer. “Sorry. Ah yes of course, please sit.” he added swiftly to the man with a polite nod of his head, stepping back from the table so as to not intrude on their personal space. Well as far as he could considering how crowded the area was which was to say he awkwardly shuffled a few steps away.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Delirium]Judy nodded affirmatively and smiled, confirming that she was, in fact, who he recognized her to be. Even without her uniform or her trademark bifocals, she was still recognizable enough. As the young man walked away, the older couple exchanged a glance, with no words needing to be said. "Please, sit with us," Judy invited him with a genial tone and a little wave of her pale hand. "I am, indeed, Judy Eastman, the XO, and this is my husband Max," she introduced the both of them, placing a deliberate comically exaggerated tone of self-importance on her position.

It wasn't like what was available back on her homeworld of Nova Kosice; the herbs were different, the honey came from different flowers, and the insects that produced it, well, weren't the bee-analogues she'd grown up with. But the vodka behind it was grain, not potato, a mix of rye and barley if her palate was any judge. And it was real, not replicated. And despite the noise levels of the club and how crowded it was getting, she allowed herself to close her eyes and savour another sip. On a Crewman's pay, getting some sent her way would be prohibitive, but if she could get an order through the proprietor... When she opened her eyes again, it was to see her colleague Layne a ways across the bar. Well, at least someone she would have no problems hanging out with. And given how she was starting to draw looks not unlike those of a prey animal surrounded by predators, getting company might be a good idea if she didn't want to do anyting... unpleasant. So she made her way through the thickening crowd to reach the other Crewman, and raised her glass in a salute. "Well look who's here! You get an invitation too?"

[Leanna - Delirium]
When Judy told her that she didn't have to go with them and suggested that they sit somewhere off to the side so they weren't in the line of the sight of those wanting to lose their inhibitions. Lea understood that she was referring to the fleeters in attendance but considering that she was Max's boss, the XO could of easily have been including her in that comment. Besides she didn't want to intrude if they wanted some privacy and become the proverbial third wheel along with the awkwardness that would inevitably come with it.
So she stayed beside Pieter whilst she decided what she wanted to do, chasing away the sudden feeling of being alone by downing the rest of her cocktail. The alcohol giving her that instant buzz and added confidence to forget that she was still somewhat vulnerable, despite her outward appearance. Receiving another cocktail within seconds, Lea grinned as she joked with Pieter before promising him that she would enjoy herself and that she would see him later.
Leaving her friend to continue being the host and welcome his guests, Leanna began sipping on her new cocktail as she walked further into the club. Being careful not to spill a drop as she passed those in conversation and others enjoying themselves. Her abilities processing all of the emotions that presented themselves to her, before she found an empty booth. Then she sat down, her body moving in time with the music as she drank and people watched at least for now until she either began to mingle or got up to dance, which was all dependant on the booze.

He would leave it up to Layne to decide what to next, for all he knew she wanted to avoid him and was just being polite. Bira was pleased to have gotten Ari’s attention and she smiled when he raised his glass to her in return. However when he gestured for her to come join him, the hugest of grins flashed across her face in delight. Bira felt a lightening of tension in her chest she hadn’t been aware she carried. She actually rose up a bit onto the balls of her feet, as though she needed the extra height to be seen over the crowd, and nodded her head to him while miming in the air with her fingers a zig zag path of someone walking through a crowd. Then she abruptly bobbed back down out of sight having been addressed by someone to her rear. [ Nix - Delirium] After serving the rather attractive dark haired Bajoran, Nix soon found herself the focus of two Ferengi who clearly didn't like the fact that the female staff and patrons were clothed. " Unless you want me to hurt you further, I suggest you give the lady her belt back as we don't tolerate thieves;in this establishment and I won't hesitate to ban you both".To prove her point Nix squeezed a little harder until the Ferengi relented and handed over the belt. Then she let go and tried to get Bira's attention discreetly as the Ferengi muttered about Feemale's and left with his companion. Thinking perhaps the Ferengi were not done harassing her about feminine vulgarity she was quite surprised to see the bartender there attempting to hand her something on the sly. Looking down she was shocked to see her silver belt in the woman’s hands, her own instantly falling to her waist as though to reality check herself. Over the bartender’s shoulder she saw the Ferengi beating a hasty retreat for the exit, one rubbing at his ear as though in pain. ”Wow”, she sighed in amazement at how stupid she felt. If any of the crew in security got wind of this she’d likely never hear the end of it. Taking the belt into her hands, she didn’t even meet the bartender’s eyes for a moment as she mentally chastised herself for letting her emotions distract her into being plucked like a chicken. Humor was pretty much a fall back for Bira and she gave way to that backhanded sense of humor as she secured her belt in place. ”I guess they forgot that Females and finances don’t mix”, she quote the 94th Rule of Acquisition dryly. That pretty much helped her shed whatever embarrassment she was feeling so that by the time she met the woman’s eyes, Bira had a smile back in place. ”Thank you so much. I hope I can count on your discretion?”[ Eliska Bremmer - Delirium, Promenade, Front Ear Station ]When she opened her eyes again, it was to see her colleague Layne a ways across the bar. You get an invitation too?" The familiar voice drew her focus away from the bartender, her face looking a bit like the cat who drank the cream as she mentally switched gears. She had intended on seeking Eliska out and was glad that she had taken the initiative to approach on her own. Part of her wondered if she had caught the exchange and if she was in store for a ribbing. Giving the woman a bit of a lopsided grin, she shrugged with her left shoulder a bit and said, ”Maybe?”. If Eliska counted serendipity then yes, she had been given an invitation. It was going to be a night to enjoy, that much she knew. Subconsciously however she was filing away every bit of information she could about this station, and in particular The Delirium. So far their own security measures seemed more than adequate to keep their customers safe. At most she could say that the bartender wasn’t in league with Ferengi to fleece their customers and split the profits. Trying to get a gauge on how long the woman had been ‘enjoying herself’ tonight she just came out and asked, ”I just got here” while gesturing toward Eliska’s drink, ”How much catching up do I have to do? You been here long?”Despite her best intentions, her head turned fleetingly toward the other side of the room to catch a glimpse of Ari who appeared to be speaking with people seated at a table; she couldn’t see who. For a moment her features softened before she drew her attention back to her crewmate with a laugh. ”I’ll warn you from the start, I won’t be able to keep up.” Ari Kiax Eliska Bremmer Leanna Mazal for Nix

However instead she vanished into the crowd of people, the last thing he saw was her head turning to address someone behind her. Sighing internally the man couldn’t blame her, he might feel like she was his friend but she didn’t necessarily feel the same way. Many Humans found it difficult for friendships to pass across lifetimes when it came to his kind, besides they hadn’t exactly been just friends. Swiftly switching back to the presence of the Mac’s First Officer and her husband, Trill nodded with a smile to hide his unease at the terrifying invitation. “Thank you.”Taking a seat the man nodded to the both, seemingly oblivious to her joking tone. “A pleasure to meet you both.” he greeted, pausing as another waitress walked past offering another free cocktail which the man took happily. “Ari Ka-Kiax, Ensign Ari Kiax, I only just arrived on the station yesterday.” he introduced himself with a more genuine, if somewhat nervous, smile. [ Ens. Ari Kiax - Delirium] Catching Layne’s expression he thought she seemed pleased when he gestured for her to join him. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Delirium]Max also took a cocktail, while Judy's phenomenal memory kicked into action. "Welcome to the station," she greeted. "You have a background in Data Science, don't you? I've been wrangling all sorts of datasets lately, so your file stuck out to me while I was reviewing the new transfers."Before Judy could launch with full force into shop talk, about the predictive maintenance system they were considering for the EPS grid on the station, or the interesting trends she and her assistant Mabel had found in the Customs activity reports, Max gently elbowed her. "But let's not talk about work now. How have you been settling in?"Another server brought the pitcher of water that Judy had asked for earlier, and the older woman poured herself a glass.

[Ens. Phoebe Volante - Dilirium] [Charlie Fox - Delirium]"You're welcome to try," Charlie said, and managed to keep a lid on the amused laugh that threatened to burst loose. "But there are many to watch on the Station, and you have only two eyes. Nice as they are." Phoebe opened her mouth to reply but caught herself as she wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to actually say. Not for another few drinks yet anyway. Instead she smiled and continued to sip from her drink as Charlie began to point out a few individuals of interest, almost choking at the sudden compliment of her eyes. Dreadfully jealous of Pieter, and, well, everyone." Phoebe lowered her drink as her eyes followed and targetted each of the people the journalist indicated. "So we have one with boundry issues? Not unheard of and kind of expected in pretty much every station. A ferengi with a casino, I imagine there are a lot of patrols and complaints around that place. Probably more now if he is jealous of Pieter and now that this place is up and running and by the looks of this crowd profitable." She paused for a moment and finished off her drink, " Slilick? I think I've heard that name thrown around before. Some sort of operation?" She shrugged slightly, "Only rumours, nothing for me to do anything with." The woman straightened up in her seat and smiled lightly, "Well, Ms Fox, that was quite a bit of information you gave me there, I suppose it's only fair to return the favour. While I expect you have looked into all of the new recruits backgrounds, is there anything I can help you with?" Charlie Fox

[ Nix - Delirium] Nix had always known how to be discreet, a definite asset when it came to working for Pieter and by extension Leanna thanks to her initial training before Delirium opened. So when the attractive Bajoran in blue realised that Nix was trying to get her attention and what she was trying to hand over the belt without attracting prying eyes or gossip. Nix understood the slight embarrassment that it might of caused, due to not realising that her belt was missing. That was the main reason why Nix had sought her out, as stealing wouldn't be tolerated at the club. In fact any crime or harassment wouldn't be tolerated either as Bira didn't meet her eyes, before she put the belt back on and made a joke about the situation including a reference to the rules of acquisition. " I guess not or bartenders who knows how to hurt their lobes" she quipped as Bira then looked at her and thanked her, before asking if she could count on Nix's discretion. " Anytime and of course".Once Bira had left, Nix returned to the bar and began serving customers again. ************** [ Pieter - Delirium] Upon seeing the two Ferengi leave, Pieter glowered slightly in their direction as the last thing they needed was any trouble tonight, especially with it being their first night of business. Although if they weren't complaining then his staff had handled the situation without incident. Still hopefully that would be the only issue, as he made his way over to the bar, keeping within sight of his customers and the entrance, so he was on hand to continue greeting people when needed. The only added addition was a glass of his favourite Talbarite ale, thinking it was only fair to partake as the DJ changed songs to encourage people to dance. Alcazar

Ari Kiax - Delirium] Sipping at his drink the Trill grinned broadly, managing to forget his nerves for the moment, as he nodded. “I’d love to help! I ended up specialising in Stellar Cartography with my Doctorate but I was assigned to Mathematics and then Statistical Analysis during my last two posts.” he enthused. He was actually very excited about what he could get up to around here. Aside from whichever Department he was stationed in there was all the memories and knowledge he had gotten from Kiax, albeit Noticing the slight nudge from Max and the change of topic Ari dropped the topic despite it being the first truly interesting thing he’d heard tonight. “It’s definitely much better than sitting around on Trill. I’m surprised my reassignment was something as exciting as this” he said with a chuckle. Not to mention the Mac being an actual Sovereign Class. Clearing his throat he shrugged slightly. “I admit it’ll take a little longer to get used to 500 years of experiences.”Realising it was unlikely the First Officer of the Mac would have remembered that much about him and not wanting to bring down the party he smiled at the two and, not wanting to be rude, turned his attention to Max. “If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do Max? Are you in Starfleet too?” he asked over the edge of his cocktail glass, he couldn’t really think of many other professions this far out in the frontier. Tag: Judith Eastman
